Previously on The Hills…

Lauren: (V.O.) When I started hanging out with Stephanie, Heidi started hanging out with Audrina again.

Heidi: You don’t know how nice it is to be able to talk to you again. We were friends for a long time…

Lauren: (V.O.) Then Audrina’s old boyfriend Justin came back into the picture.

Justin: Oh hi.

Audrina: Hi. Where did you come from?

Lauren: (V.O.) And more than ever, Audrina was doing her own thing.

Lauren: So what happened to you last night? I tried calling you.

Audrina: Justin and I went out pretty late.

Lauren: (V.O.) Still when Lo and I decided to get a house together, I figured we’d include Audrina.

Lo: Audrina too?

Lauren: (V.O.) Now we were starting a new chapter. But I was about to have a date with the past.

CUT TO: Lauren, Lo & Audrina’s House

They walk up to the house.

Lo: Oh my gosh. Oh a real house. (Lauren opens the gate and they go inside) It’s amazing. This is so pretty.

Lauren: Isn’t it pretty?

Lo: I love the palm trees.

Lauren: Let’s see the inside. It’s so pretty. (Lauren opens the door and they go inside the house)

Lo: Oh my gosh.

Audrina: This is so pretty. I love all the arch.

Lauren: (They walk down steps into a room) Don’t you love it? This will like our TV room with like big couches and like…we’ll put pictures all over the walls of like everyone.

Lo: Yeah.

Audrina: Let’s go see the guest house.  (They go outside to the guest house) My living corridors.

Lo: Outside we go. (It cuts to the guest house. They go inside) Oh this is adorable.

Lauren: Here’s your room.

Lo: Audrina’s little house! The chateau Audrina!

Audrina: It’s so cute. It’s very Mediterranean with the floors.

Lauren: I know. Are you gonna be okay staying back here?

Audrina: Yeah I like that it’s private.

Lo: Oh good. I’m glad you like it. (They leave the guest house) It’s just gonna be so cool out here (They go into the main house) in the summer.

Audrina: I know. (Cut to the main house) So this is like the sunroom over here?

Lauren: Yeah.

Lo: Yeah.

Lauren: And this is the kitchen. (They enter the kitchen)

Audrina: This is so pretty.

Lauren: Isn’t it? Do you guys like it?

Audrina: I love it.

Lo: It’s gonna be an amazing party house. Are you kidding?

Lauren: We have to have the best housewarming party. Honestly.

CUT TO: Opening Credits

CUT TO: Caffe Primo

Lauren and Lo are having lunch outside.

Lo: When did it get so freakishly cold?

Lauren: This morning? I don’t know. It wasn’t this cold yesterday.

Lo: I know.

Lauren: How fun is it gonna be now that we all live together? We can shop.

Lo: I know.

Lauren: Audrina and I are completely different so we shop separately.

Lo: Mm-hmm.

Lauren: Oh I’m so glad she wanted to move in.

Lo: I know.

Lauren: I was really nervous.

Lo: (Their food arrives) Oh. Yeah that’s me thank you. Who’s coming to the housewarming party tonight?

Lauren: I don’t know yet. I know Stephen’s in town tonight and he’s gonna come around six and then…

Lo: Stephen?

Lauren: Mm-hmm.

Lo: Stephen Coletti?

Lauren: Yup.

Lo: Wait what? What are you talking about? You haven’t talked to him in forever. Whee, you guys are hanging out again.

Lauren: Lo stop.

Lo: That melts my little black heart. Oh it’s so cute! You always loved Stephen.

Lauren: Love is a strong word Lo. You, I love.

Lo: That’s exciting.

Lauren: It’s not exciting. It’s not a thing, it’s just…

Lo: It’s not a thing? (Lauren shakes her head) It always turns into a thing.

Lauren: It can’t be a thing ‘cause if it’s thing, then it…it gets this build up and then I get my hopes up.

Lo: I can get my hopes up for you. How long did you like Chilly for in high school? And after high school?

Lauren: I never really stopped. I don’t know.

CUT TO: Karma Coffee House

Stephanie goes inside and sees Spencer sitting down.

Stephanie: Hello, coffee house rat. You’re always here. (Spencer laughs) (To people working) Hi. Can I get a Chi Bubba?

Worker: Sure.

Stephanie: Thanks. (To Spencer) What’s up?

Spencer:  I think I have the flu.

Stephanie: Well that sucks. (She sits with him with her coffee) It’s horrible.

Spencer: Isn’t that the point of those things?

Stephanie: No you’re supposed to chew ‘em.

Spencer: So what’s up with you?

Stephanie: Um, Lauren invited me to her housewarming party.

Spencer: And you wanna go? I…I just don’t understand. Do you have any like family loyalty? Like this is somebody…

Stephanie: It’s crazy that you can say that when you became best friends with my ex-boyfriend when I hated him and every day when I’d come home, he was at the house.

Spencer: He wasn’t really your boyfriend, I hate to tell you. Just ‘cause you went to semi formal with him.

Stephanie: Spencer, you know that was my boyfriend. Don’t even try to act like it wasn’t a big deal.

Spencer: You can put any….you can put any title on a semi formal date.

Stephanie: You’re such a jerk.

Spencer: How am I supposed to tell Heidi that you’re thinking about going to LC’s party?

Stephanie: I’ll tell Heidi. Heidi put this behind her. I feel like…I feel like you’re the one holding the grudge.

Spencer: Um yes. I guess that’s what I’m doing, holding a grudge.

Stephanie: Exactly. Heidi’s not.

Spencer: All right well I have nothing more to say to you really so…you can take your Bo Bo, leave me at peace.

Stephanie: I don’t wanna leave like this.

Spencer: Again then I’ll go. (He gets up and leaves)

CUT TO: That Night – Lauren, Audrina & Lo’s House

The girls are getting ready for the party. Audrina is in the guest house at first while Lauren and Lo are in the kitchen.

Lauren: Audrina!

Audrina: Yeah?

Lauren: Are you ready?

Audrina: Yeah. (Walks to the main house) I thought I heard my name. I had my music on loud. (Cut to the kitchen, all three girls are in the kitchen)

Lauren: Do we have a pretty bowel we can like stick limes in?

Lo: A bowel? We don’t have any bowels.

Lauren: We are kind of hopeless. Did you see bucket last night?

Audrina: Yeah.

Lo: I still need to get curtains. I wonder if our neighbors have seen me naked yet.

Lauren: Probably.

Lo: Well I think we’re gonna have a fun party.

Audrina: Yeah. (She’s cutting limes) Did you invite Stephanie?

Lauren: Yeah. I don’t know if she’s coming or not. I’ll text her. (Lo and Audrina are cutting lemons)

Audrina: Jarrett’s coming and then Justin’s coming and my sister’s coming and my brother…

Lauren: Wait, remind. I wanted to hear about Justin. (Audrina looks shocked) Is that not a subject we’re allowed to talk about?

Lo: Maybe he’ll wear his cowboy hat. (Audrina doesn’t happy about what they’re saying about Justin)

Audrina: Is Brody coming?

Lauren: Uh I think so I don’t know. I should text him and ask.

Lo: Who did you invite Lauren? Which guys?

Lauren: You’ll see, you’ll see.

Lo: I’ll see? Why don’t you just tell me?

Lauren: I will….I invited Stephen.

Audrina: Stephen Coletti? (Lauren nods) When was the last time you talked to him?

Lauren: Last night.

Audrina: Oh you did?

Lo: She’s been talking to him. Did you invite him like, as a friend?

Lauren: Don’t get all ninth grade on me.

Lo: I know but…you guys have like always kinda had a thing.

Lauren: Stop. We’re good friends.

CUT TO: Lauren, Audrina & Lo’s House

The party is in full swing.

Audrina: Jarrett! How are you? (Hugs Jarrett)

Jarrett: How are you?

Audrina: Good. (Whitney comes in)

Whitney: Hey. (Hugs Lauren)

Lauren: Hi. (Cuts to outside. Brody arrives with Frankie and his girlfriend Cora)

Brody: Should we ring the bell or just go in? (He laughs as they go in. Cut to inside the house) Wow…

Lauren: Hello.

Brody: Pretty nice in here. How you doing? (Shows her the box he has in his hands) I got you something, a little housewarming gift.

Lauren: What is that?

Brody: It’s a juicer.

Lauren: (Laughs) It’s our third juicer.

Brody: This is Cora.

Cora: Hi nice to meet you.

Lauren: Nice to meet you.

CUT TO: Heidi’s Apartment

Someone knocks at the door. Heidi opens the door and Stephanie comes in.

Heidi: Hi.

Stephanie: Hi.

Heidi: What are you doing?

Stephanie: I am just on my way out.

Heidi: Out to where? (They both sit down on the coaches)

Stephanie: So far, to Hollywood. I’m actually going to go to a housewarming party. It’s um, Lauren’s.

Heidi: You’re kidding.

Stephanie: I really thought you’d be cool with this.

Heidi: I mean, what would make you think that?

Stephanie: It’s like retarded that I feel guilty sitting in class next to her when she invites me to a housewarming party. I’m like ‘Well let me run it by Heidi and Spencer’.

Heidi: If you are feeling guilty and asking for permission that’s ‘cause you feel like you’re doing something wrong. You can do whatever you want…

Stephanie: The only reason I came here is because when I went to her birthday party and Kimberly told you, you got really mad at me and I don’t…

Heidi: Because you were lying to me. You weren’t telling me anything. You were trying to keep secrets from me and like being shady about it. If you wanna go…

Stephanie: I’m not being shady. So if I go tonight and I hadn’t told you about it…

Heidi: Then you would’ve been being shady about it.

Stephanie: See? You’re…you’re totally contradicting yourself.

Heidi: I’m saying I don’t get why you can be friends with her. The one person in my life I don’t along with and you’re becoming best friends with her. Like where’s your loyalty?

Stephanie: This just seems like so middle school but…are you just….are you like hanging out anywhere or are you just gonna be here?

Heidi: No I’m just gonna be here.

Stephanie: I don’t know how this all started. But um, I mean I won’t go. You wanna watch a movie or something?

CUT TO: Lauren, Audrina & Lo’s House

Everyone is outside now. Lauren is standing with Lo. It cuts to the front where Lauren’s friend Stephen arrives. He opens the gate and then opens the door and goes to the back then it cuts to the back again. Brody walks outside with Cora.

Lo: Brody’s girlfriend’s very pretty. With very large breasts. (Stephen walks outside. He sees Lauren and approaches her. Lauren smiles as she sees him and Lo doesn’t because her back is turned to him) I feel like…just tapped like…

Lauren: Hello. (Stephen scares Lo because she didn’t see him coming)

Lo: Oh my gosh!

Stephen: Hi.

Lo: Hi. (Lauren hugs Stephen)

Stephen: Dude this looks awesome out here.

Lauren: Thanks.

Stephen: It looks really nice. Tiki tikis. It’s good to see you.

Lo: Come here. (They hug)

Stephen: Yeah.

Lo: Yay! (Just then, Justin arrives outside)

Brody: Oh! Oh! I love it that I…you look good, you look good. (He hugs Justin) It’s way better. I like that. You look all clean cut. Did you ride here? Hanging with the boys. Come on, we’re getting a drink. Let’s go. We’re gonna get a drink. (He brings Justin to get a drink and Audrina follows as she has been watching them)

Lauren: (To Stephen) Can I show you something I’m really proud of?

Stephen: What? Your house?

Lauren: My first bloom! (Shows him a plant hanging above them)

Stephen: This is gonna last for about…

Lauren: Stop, stop, stop.

Stephen: Three days.

Lauren: No, no, no. The whole thing’s gonna be these flowers.

Stephen: Oh…

Lauren: Have you met Justin before?

Stephen: Oh the bike.

Lauren: Yeah, yeah the bike guy.

Stephen: No.

Lauren: Yeah they kind of hang out in the back house a lot.

Stephen: Do you go back there at all? Or not allowed? (It shows Justin go inside the pool house) What?

Lauren: I don’t think we’re allowed back there.

Stephen: Are you…really? (Cut to the pool house. Audrina and Justin are lying on her bed, talking)

Audrina: We were making salsa earlier, girl talk in the kitchen.

Justin: Girl talk?

Audrina: Yeah it’s weird with them, especially Lo. I was like ‘Yeah, Justin’s coming, my sister’s coming…’ like ‘Wait, back up. Justin’s coming?’

Justin: It’s actually really no one’s business.

Audrina: Well I think it’s just to the point where she knows I’m not gonna listen to…you know.

Justin: Well obviously.

Audrina: They’ll tell me and I’ll do what I want.

Justin: Bull s**t starts up again, ‘cause I have a feeling it will. You can’t win.

Audrina: Whatever. (It cuts back to outside with Lauren and Stephen)

Lauren: You know like when you go home and you just feel like so comfortable?

Stephen: Yeah.

Lauren: I just this home to feel like that.

Stephen: I’m sure you’ll…you’ll deck it out. You’ll put your little style…your stuff in it. It’ll look very Lauren esque. We’ll grab like a lunch or dinner or something. We’ll catch up. When there’s not like madness around.

Lauren: Okay. (They look at each other and smile)

CUT TO: The Next Day – FIDM

Lauren and Stephanie are sitting together outside.

Stephanie: Oh…some boys on campus!

Lauren: Where? Oh I think they’re like workers. (Stephanie laughs) I’m serious.

Stephanie: So how was your party on Friday?

Lauren: It was fun. We did it kind of outside and we lite…we have like a little barbecue fire pit out there, we lite that. It was nice you should have come though, it was really fun.

Stephanie: It’s just difficult.

Lauren: I’m sorry.

Stephanie: When Spencer and Heidi talk about loyalty, it’s just like…oh my god. That’s the worst to be called, disloyal, I think.

Lauren: I don’t even want to get you in trouble, I feel bad. Our parties are fun though.

Stephanie: Yeah the next party, I’ll try to make it. So wait. Were there any cute boys there?

Lauren: You remember my friend Stephen? (Stephanie shakes her head) He was there. I went to high school with him. We kinda had a thing.

Stephanie: You say all casual. Isn’t that kinda crazy?

Lauren: We’re going out dinner tonight so…I have no idea. I think…I don’t know. (Stephanie gives her a look) I know, I know. (They both laugh)

CUT TO: That Night – Lauren, Audrina & Lo’s House

Lauren is getting ready to go out with Stephen.

Lo: Lauren!

Lauren: Yeah! In my bathroom!

Lo: (Comes in the bathroom) What are you doing?

Lauren: Makeup.

Lo: Oh you look pretty.

Lauren: Thank you.

Lo: What time is Stephen coming?

Lauren: (Looks at her phone) Ten minutes ago.

Lo: That’s exciting that you guys are going out to dinner.

Lauren: I know weird, right?

Lo: Is it a date?

Lauren: I don’t know.

Lo: Well what does Stephen think? I mean about going out to dinner. Was it your idea or was it his idea?

Lauren: His.

Lo: Well that’s what I mean. Are you excited?

Lauren: Yeah.

Lo: Good. I’m excited for you. (Cut to outside the house. Stephen arrives at the door and rings the doorbell. Cut to inside. Lauren walks down the stairs and he rings the doorbell again)

Lauren: I’m coming! (Lo walks down the stairs with her. She gets to the door and opens it)

Stephen: Hello.

Lauren: Hi. (They hug)

Stephen: (To Lo) Hi schmo.

Lo: Hey Ste, how are you?

Stephen: Good how are you?

Lo: Good.

Stephen: Good?

Lauren: (To Lo) I love you.

Lo: Okay bye.

Lauren: Call me later.

Stephen: Bye.

Lo: Have fun! (Lauren and Stephen exit the house)

CUT TO: il Cielo Restaurant

Stephen stops his car in front of the restaurant. Lauren and Stephen get out of the car and go inside as the valet go and park the car.

Host: Good evening folks.

Lauren: Hi. (Cut to inside the restaurant. Lauren and Stephen are sitting at a table)

Stephen: So I’m happy to see you doing well. I love the house.

Lauren: Thank you.

Stephen: Your roommates are good.

Lauren: You give it like the Stephen stamp of approval?

Stephen: Got it.

Waiter: (Brings food) Here’s your calamari.

Lauren: Oh thank you. (Puts it down and gives Stephen his food)

Stephen: Money!

Waiter: Bon Appetite.

Stephen: Thanks. (Waiter leaves)  Is Lo dating anybody?

Lauren: Little bit.

Stephen: Audrina?

Lauren: I think she’s back with Justin. I don’t really know. She doesn’t tell me.

Stephen: You guys don’t talk about that at all? (She shakes her head) Then again, she’s in the guest house.

Lauren: She can walk into the house. The house is hers too.

Stephen: Well walk over there. She’s like twenty steps away. Be like ‘I’m bored, I need to talk, talk to me’.

Lauren: She’s not that kind of a roommate.

Stephen: Gotcha.

Lauren: Lo meanwhile, will like run into my bathroom while I’m showering and be like ‘What’s up?’ (They both laugh)

Stephen: Ah…

Lauren: Lo can’t get out of like senior year. She was ‘Ooh…Stephen’. I was like, ‘Um, we’re not eighteen anymore’.

Stephen: She’s kind of like everybody else that’s wishing something would happen between you and I. (Lauren nods) I told my mom that I was over your house the other day and that we were going to dinner and she was “Oh…oh, really?’ (Lauren laughs) ‘So what’s going on?’

Lauren: My mom does that to me too.

Stephen: I’m like ‘Mom, come on’

Lauren: She’s like ‘So Stephen?’ I’m like ‘Mom…’

Stephen: I’m like ‘Can I see a good friend and just have dinner with them? Can’t it just be…you know, platonic?’ They’re like ‘What?’ I don’t know…

Lauren: Yeah my parents love you. It’s ‘cause they always know you’ll be a good friend.

Stephen: Yeah. It seems to work that way. (Lauren nods, kind of looking sad. Then it cuts to them leaving the restaurant)

Lauren: (To Host) Thank you.

Stephen: Thank you very much. (The valet brings the car and Lauren gets in the passenger seat and Stephen gets in the driver’s seat and drives Lauren home)

Lauren: Remember in high school when you used to drop me off and we were always rushing ‘cause it was my curfew? Do you remember always you would get me home exactly on my curfew?

Stephen: I was good about that.

Lauren: No like I would like ‘Oh I have to be home in seven minutes’. You’d be like ‘No worries’.

Stephen: Told you not to call my…let’s go.

Lauren: Gone! I would get home exactly at my curfew too.

Stephen: I never drove too crazy though. I had precious cargo. (They look at each other and smile. Stephen stops the car in front of the house.) It was fun.

Lauren: Thank you for driving.

Stephen: Go get some sleep.

Lauren: I will.

Stephen: I will uh, I will be in touch. (She hugs him)

Lauren: I love you. Have a good night. (She gets out of the car. He drives away as she goes inside. Cut to inside the house. Lo is in the kitchen on her laptop when Lauren walks in)

Lo: (Hears a door open) Hello?

Lauren: It’s me.

Lo: Oh hi. (Lauren enters the kitchen)

Lauren: Hey.

Lo: Hi.

Lauren: Hi what are you doing?

Lo: Not studying anymore. How was dinner?

Lauren: It was good. (Shows Lo the ice cream in her hand)

Lo: Coming home to eat ice cream…perfect. (Lauren sits next to Lo) Did you have a good time?

Lauren: Yeah. It was good.

Lo: Did you talk about… (Puts her hands together) you know…whatever?

Lauren: What’s this? (Puts her hands together like Lo did)

Lo: (Does it again) You two together. (They both laugh) You know what I mean.

Lauren: Yeah. I mean, you know, some things are just better left the way they are.

Lo: You guys are so cute together though.

Lauren: I know. The thing is, hanging out with him, I feel like I’m in high school, you know what I mean? But I’m not in high school anymore. (It cuts to Stephen driving away. Then back to Lauren and Lo)

Lo: Well good. I’m glad you guys went out to dinner then.

Lauren: Yeah no it was good.

Lo: And maybe one day it’ll work out and you’ll get married. ‘Cause that’s what I really want. (Then it cuts to Stephen again then back to Lauren then to an air view of LA)
