Spencer: Enjoy your space.

Lauren: (V.O.) After she made Spencer move out, Heidi was loving living on her own. But Spencer had no one to turn to. Expect for his sister Stephanie.

Stephanie: You’re so homeless and so lame.

Lauren: (V.O.) Stephanie turned up in my fashion class. And everyone told me not to trust her. But we were actually getting along great.

Stephanie: Spencer and Heidi, it’s like their word or nothing.

Lauren: Sounds fun.

Lauren: (V.O.) Brody and I were not getting alone great.

Brody: You’re not gonna give me a hug right now?

Lauren: Where’s your girlfriend?

Brody: What is wrong with her?

Lauren: (V.O.) But now it was my birthday. And I just wanted everyone to stop fighting. Unfortunately, birthday wishes don’t always come true.

CUT TO: FIDM

Stephanie and Lauren are leaving the building and walking outside.

Lauren: Have you been to S Bar yet?

Stephanie: Yes. I was there opening night.

Lauren: We’re all gonna go tonight. Is it big though? ‘Cause I don’t know how many people to invite. 

Stephanie: No, what’s it for?

Lauren: Oh it’s…well my birthday is in a couple days but like everyone’s going out of town so I was just gonna have it tonight so everyone can go.

Stephanie: Oh…your birthday?

Lauren: Yeah.

Stephanie: You gonna have…

Lauren; Twenty two.          

Stephanie: Oh that’s like perfect. It’s a really great birthday place That’s good.

Lauren: I don’t know. Are you doing anything?

Stephanie: No.

Lauren: Well if you want, you can come.

Stephanie: Yeah totally I do but like…I don’t know…it’s like are you sure you really want me there?

Lauren: No, no I wouldn’t ask you to come if I didn’t want you there.

Stephanie: Like Spencer’s sister…

Lauren: I don’t care if you’re Spencer’s sister. I’m not gonna dislike someone ‘cause of their blood.

Stephanie: ‘Cause of their blood.

Lauren: I mean don’t feel obligated. I’m just saying if you’re out, you’re welcome to come.

Stephanie: Okay. Have a good day. (They hug)

Lauren: Thank you.

Stephanie: All right.

Lauren: Come tonight if you want.

Stephanie: All right bye. (They part ways)

CUT TO: Opening Credits

CUT TO: Heidi’s Apartment

Heidi opens the door and it is Spencer coming for the remainder of his stuff.

Spencer: Hello. (They walk in the main part of the apartment) Wow this looks good. When did you paint the place? You really been up to… (Heidi sits down the couch)

Heidi: You here to get your stuff?  Are you taking this?

Spencer: I will take this.

Heidi: And make sure you all get all your video games.

Spencer: Jelly Jim will be here in like ten minutes, maybe any minute actually to get this, getting the jellies.

Heidi: Great.

Spencer: So are we, uh, dating? ‘Cause you know I meet girls and they’ll be like ‘Hey you wanna go out? and I’ll be like ‘I don’t know I think I have a girlfriend’.

Heidi: You don’t know? You don’t know if you wanna go out with other girls?

Spencer: No…

Heidi: If you wanna go out with other girls then go out with…

Spencer: That’s not what I said. I said…

Heidi: Then why are you asking me?

Spencer: I said…I said are we dating?

Heidi: So are you asking me for permission to go out on a date? Is that what you’re asking?

Spencer: My question is where…where are we in our relationship because…

Heidi: If you want to date, go ahead and date. That’s fine if you want to do that.

Spencer: That’s my point. You don’t even care.

Heidi: I do care. I’m not dating anyone and I don’t wanna date anyone. I’m not trying to meet guys and if you’re trying to meet girls, then we should break up.

Spencer: I thought we were broken up.

Heidi: I’m about to punch you in your face.

Spencer: I’m scared…I’m scared.

Heidi: You can leave.

Spencer: I can leave?

Heidi: But make sure you get your stuff out so…

CUT TO: The Night – Hillside Villas

Lo and Lauren do cheers for Lauren’s birthday.

Lo: Happy birthday! Okay do you want your birthday present now?

Lauren: Obviously.

Lo: Or at dinner? (She takes a wrapped box out of a bag and hands it to Lauren) here you can open it now.

Lauren: (She opens it) That is so pretty Lo.

Lo: It’s pretty, right? It’s a little heart.

Lauren: Oh I wanna wear it tonight.

Lo: Yeah you can wear your heart.

Lauren: It is so pretty. Thank you so much.

Lo: Yeah you’re welcome sweetie.

Lauren: I hoped I invited everyone.

Lo: So did…

Lauren: I like invited a bunch of people but when I like went down the list, I’m like…

Lo: Yeah, yeah but like…

Lauren: Frankie can’t come.

Lo: That’s okay. He didn’t tell me had a girlfriend. He’s not invited.

Lauren: Brody didn’t tell me he had a girlfriend.

Lo: Hey, same boat. Cheers to that too. (They do cheers again) Yay!

Lauren: Yay! (They both laugh) So he won’t be there either. But I’m seeing him tomorrow so we’ll see.

Lo: Oh the Brodster. That’s cute.

Lauren: But it’ll be all the girls. Whitney’s coming and bringing a friend.

Lo: Oh fun.

Lauren: And I asked Stephanie if she wanted to come but she said that Spencer might like have a problem with it which I get. So she might stop by, might not.

Lo: That’s cool. Okay cheers to your birthday.

Lauren: Cheers. (They do cheers)

Lo: Happy birthday!

Lauren: Thank you.

Lo: You’re welcome.

CUT TO: Stephanie’s Apartment

Stephanie walks in the door as Spencer is making food.

Stephanie: Hey.

Spencer: What up, what up? (As she walks, we see Spencer’s stuff is all over the apartment)

Stephanie: Helping yourself to my food? (She sees the jellyfish tank) Oh my god. What is this doing here Spencer? Spencer isn’t your apartment, this is mine. (He walks over to the jellyfish tank)

Spencer: It’s not an apartment it’s a condo.

Stephanie: Spencer…

Spencer: Stephanie…

Stephanie: This needs to leave tomorrow.

Spencer: What do you really want me to do with this?

Stephanie: Get rid of it. (Spencer is now back in the kitchen) I cannot believe this Spencer. What…

Spencer: There is not…

Stephanie: You’re just like…what are you doing with your life?

Spencer: (Mocking her) What are you doing with your life? (Spencer is looking in the fridge)

Stephanie: No seriously. You’re sleeping on my couch. Are you even trying to get a job or look for a new apartment?

Spencer: I’m getting a job.

Stephanie: I’m seriously gonna call Dad and have someone get this.

Spencer: (Picking up something) What are these things? Why are in the kitchen?

Stephanie: Spencer I’m doing you a really big favor.

Spencer: You’re doing me a really big favor by letting me sleep on your couch…

Stephanie: I’ve been really cool about it…

Spencer: When you have two bedrooms and one of your bedrooms just has clothes in it. It’s like…ridiculous.

Stephanie: But I’ve been being so cool about this whole thing.

Spencer: And when does the maid come?

Stephanie: You’re looking at her.

Spencer: Well she needs to do those sheets on my couch. So the good news is I’ve started Operation Win Heidi Back.

Stephanie: Good.

Spencer: At any cost.

Stephanie: Good.

Spencer: Today’s day one.

Stephanie: All right well what’s the plan?

Spencer: Oh like I’m gonna tell you, you’re a little snitch, gonna tell LC my plan in class. I don’t think so. (He zips his lips and then throws it, like throwing away the key) Well my dear, I gotta watch uh, 24 so I would like my bedroom please. Can you exit?

Stephanie: Are you kidding Spencer? This…fine. We’re gonna end this conversation. When I wake up tomorrow, I don’t wanna see this. I don’t even wanna see you sleeping. I want to hear…all right. I’m going out. That’s it Spencer. We’re not speaking anymore.

Spencer: Good thank God. (She leaves the room as he sits down on the couch)

CUT TO: S Bar – Location of Lauren’s birthday party

Stephanie and her friend Roxy walk up to the door.

Stephanie: Spencer’s so wack. I’m glad we’re going out. (It shows that Kim, Heidi’s co-worker and friend, is working the door) Hi, Stephanie Pratt. (Kim looks at the list)

Kim: Here for Lauren Conrad’s birthday? Stephanie plus one?

Stephanie: Yes.

Kim: You can go in.

Stephanie: Thanks. (They go inside. Cut to inside S Bar. Lauren’s cake is brought to the table. Lauren looks so happy when she sees it. Everyone claps as it’s brought to the table as well as when Lauren blows out the candles. When she finishes, she high fives Lo and all the girls do cheers and then Lauren starts to dance in her seat and it shows Audrina and Whitney dancing as well. Then it cuts to Stephanie and Roxy arriving at the table and greeting Lauren. Lauren hugs Stephanie)

Stephanie: How are you?

Lauren: Good. (Audrina looks unhappy to see Stephanie there)

Roxy: Hi nice to meet you.

Lauren: Hi. No don’t worry.

Roxy: Happy birthday.

Lauren: Thank you. Audrina! (She waves Audrina over)

Stephanie: (To Audrina) This is my best friend, Roxy.

Audrina: Hi. (Shakes hands with Roxy)

Roxy: Hi nice to meet you.

Audrina: Nice to meet you.

Lauren; Have a seat. (Stephanie, Roxy and Lauren all sit together)

Audrina: (Sitting with Lo) What’s going on? I don’t get it.

Lo: I’m happy that Stephanie’s being nice to her…And that they like, are cordial now and everything…I just don’t trust her.

Lauren: (To Stephanie and Roxy) Can I just say how awesome it is, honestly, that you guys are here?

Stephanie: Happy birthday! Happy birthday! I feel like everyone’s on the same level with like…not…

Lauren: Good.

Stephanie: No one’s holding grudges.

Lo: Stephanie may have really good intentions but in the end…Spencer is still her brother. It’s still family and you always stick up for your family first. No matter what.

Stephanie: Water under the bridge!

Lauren: It’s more like…

Stephanie: Is that the expression? ‘Water under the bridge’. (Lauren nods)

Audrina: It’s just really weird and I think something’s up. Something sketchy.

Lauren: I just want to tell you that I…I honestly like…I know I don’t know you that well…you know what though? You’re a good person.

Stephanie: Thank you.

Lauren: Cheers.

Stephanie: Cheers. (They do cheers. Then Lauren points at Lo and Audrina)

Lo: I just don’t want this to turn into another disaster.

Audrina: Smile! They’re looking. (They both look over at Lauren and Stephanie) They keep staring. (Stephanie waves at them)

Lo: Cheers!

Stephanie: Lo! (The three do cheers)

Lo: How are you Stephanie?

Stephanie: Good.

CUT TO: The Next Day – Bolthouse Offices

Kim goes into Heidi’s office.

Heidi: Thank you for this. (To Kim who sits down) Hi.

Kim: Hi. So I worked S Bar last night and Lauren had her birthday party there. And um, Stephanie was there.

Heidi: Spencer’s sister Stephanie?

Kim: Yeah.

Heidi: Like she was just there like at the club?

Kim: No she was there for her party.

Heidi: That can’t be right.

Kim: Yeah I don’t know. And then I was walking around, just kinda checking on everyone’s tables, drinks and stuff …

Heidi: Yeah.

Kim: And she was sitting with her with them.

Heidi: I don’t understand Lauren’s logic. Like that’s so crazy to me that Lauren won’t even talk to me because of my boyfriend.

Kim: Yeah.

Heidi: But she’ll hang out with my boyfriend’s sister.

Kim: I thought it was weird too.

Heidi: It’s so weird I don’t even…that’s crazy. I’m definitely gonna have to ask Stephanie about that. All right.

Kim: All right.

Heidi: I’m gonna get back to…

Kim: Yeah? I’ll be working on Crachella.

Heidi: Okay I’ll schedule it in. (Kim gets up and leaves then Heidi grabs her phone and calls Spencer to tell him about what Kim told her)

Spencer: Hello?

Heidi: Did you know that Stephanie went to Lauren’s birthday?

Spencer: I can’t believe that.

Heidi: Yeah she did. She went to S Bar because Kimberly just told me she was working it and Stephanie and I think Roxy were on the list under Lauren’s birthday and they were sitting at her table all night.

Spencer: What the hell is Lauren doing hanging out with my sister? This has got to be a joke.

Heidi: No it’s not a joke.

Spencer: That’s crazy. She’s like Brody junior over here. All right, you gotta be kidding me. I can’t believe this.

CUT TO: Toast

Brody gets out of his car, gives the keys to the valet and then sits at a table waiting for Lauren. He gets out his phone and calls Lauren.

Brody: Is somebody late…somebody late for lunch over here? Where are you? (He hangs up as she shows up)

Lauren: I’m not late. I was here.

Brody: Oh! (She puts her purse on the chair) Wait a minute before you sit down. Give me a little hug. (They hug) Thank you.

Lauren: How are you?

Brody: Good.

Lauren: You’re very blue today. (They both sit down)

Brody: I like that necklace.

Lauren: Thank you. I missed you guys. We used to hang out all the time when I only see you like once every three weeks.

Brody: I know. The last time I saw you, you got all weird on me.

Lauren: I didn’t get weird. I was…

Brody: Well you were like ‘Where’s your girlfriend, where’s your girlfriend?’

Lauren: It’s a question. I was just asking where she was. How long have you been with…wait what’s her name?

Brody: Cora.

Lauren: Cora…that’s pretty.

Brody: She’s cool. You would really like her. She’s fun. What’s new with you? How’s the love life?

Lauren: I’m kind of not having a love life right now.

Brody: Sounds like life’s very exciting.

Lauren: I’m getting A’s in my classes.

Brody: Are you? Congratulations.

Lauren: Did I tell you about my computer class?

Brody: Your what?  (He shakes his head)

Lauren: (To waiter) Thank you. (To Brody) Stephanie Pratt’s in it. She came to my birthday.

Brody: Stephanie came to your birthday.

Lauren: Mm-hmm.

Brody: Stephanie Pratt.

Lauren: Mm-hmm.

Brody: It’s a little strange, I don’t know about any of this.

Lauren: She’s a nice girl.

Brody: What’d you guys have a little pow wow?

Lauren: I like her.

Brody: You guys like best friends now?

Lauren: No.

Brody: Do you really think she’s being genuine and sincere?

Lauren: Yeah.

Brody: But also be very cautious. Let me just tell you, be cautious. I know…I know Stephanie. I’ve known her for a while. Do you ever think that for one second Spencer and Heidi are trying to like…get her in to be friends with you just so they can like…do something, I don’t know.

Lauren: What are they gonna do?

Brody: I don’t know but they’re always planning up some scheme constantly.

Lauren: Honestly I really don’t think she’s like them. I think she’s a nice person.

Brody: Take your time.

CUT TO: Stephanie’s Apartment

Spencer is lying on the couch when Stephanie walks in.

Spencer: Well look who it is. (Stephanie puts down her bags)

Stephanie: What’s up? (Spencer sits up on the couch as Stephanie sits on the couch next to him)

Spencer: Did you forget that Bolthouse owns S Bar and that Heidi is one of the lead promoters for Bolthouse?

Stephanie: Spencer…

Spencer: So you know what I’m talking about?

Stephanie: Yeah that I went to Lauren’s birthday?

Spencer: And you don’t think that’s weird?

Stephanie: Are we five years old? Heidi’s apologized to her…

Spencer: Heidi just went there to be like ‘Hey crazy, why are you mean to me for no reason?’ Lauren is the crazy one that hates Heidi because of me who’s now friends with you which is even crazier.

Stephanie: Friendly.

Spencer: Friendly is not going to somebody’s birthday party. That’s friends. So friends.

Stephanie: Okay friends.

Spencer: So you hanging out with Brody tomorrow or what? You got…you got…you got plans with him?

Stephanie: She hasn’t said anything mean about you or Heidi and if she did, Spencer…

Spencer: It’s just…it’s insane to me. The fact that she talks to you freaks me out. I guess I’m very different from people like you, people like Brody who…

Stephanie: Stop putting me in the same category…

Spencer: You guys are in different boats. His set sail a long time ago, yours is just sailing this way. So… (He gives her thumbs up)

Stephanie: Oh my god.

Spencer: The fact that you don’t think it’s crazy is what’s so crazy to me. You don’t think it’s crazy? No?

Stephanie: I feel like… (She is starting to cry) since Lauren and I are friends, I can make them friends again. I just cannot believe you want to keep this fight going. We get it. Everyone gets it Spencer like…

Spencer: There’s no…there’s no fight that…there’s no…there’s no fight keeps going! 

Stephanie: You need to stop having enemies Spencer. She’s forgotten this, she’s forgiven Heidi.

Spencer: We’re…we’re cool…I forgot it too.

Stephanie: No you haven’t.

Spencer: We’re good.

Stephanie: ‘Cause you’re making me cry right now.

Spencer: Stephanie, you’re making yourself cry, thinking about what you did. So I’m sorry that you’re making yourself cry. So you had a great time at the birthday. (He gives her thumbs up and she gets and goes into the kitchen and blows her nose)

CUT TO: The Next Day – FIDM

Lauren enters class. She and Stephanie smile at each other as they take their seats.

Professor: Those sketches that you did….and I have the homework to give you back.

Stephanie: How was your birthday?

Lauren: It was good.

Stephanie: It was good? (Lauren nods) Roxy and I had a good time.

Lauren: She’s really nice.

Stephanie: Isn’t she the best? (Lauren nods) Yeah. Spencer found out that I went to your birthday. He was such a jerk about it. (Lauren moves closer to her so they can talk)

Lauren: What happened?

Stephanie: Oh my god. He was like ‘I can’t believe you actually went’. He was just like ‘I know like you just wanted to go’ and I was like ‘Yeah I did wanna go’ I was like ‘We’re friends’. He made me cry. (Lauren makes a ‘Oh my god’ face) I know.

Lauren: I’m really sorry.

Stephanie: I think he just like his goal is to make me like feel guilty.

Lauren: You know what? It’s probably because, you know, when like there’s certain things you’re sensitive about, and he had a really big problem with Brody being my friend and it’s probably just a sensitive.

Stephanie: So this is exactly, exactly what it is.

Lauren: And that’s not your fault. And I’m really, really…I mean I don’t ever wanna like cause fights and I’m really sorry but you didn’t do anything wrong, you know that.

Stephanie: Yeah. That’s true.

CUT TO: Heidi’s Apartment

Someone knocks on the door.

Heidi: Come in! (The door opens and Stephanie walks in. She sits at the counter as Heidi makes dinner)

Stephanie: Making a salad?

Heidi: Yes, dinner. So what’s up?

Stephanie: You know, don’t you?

Heidi: What?

Stephanie: That I went to Lauren’s birthday.

Heidi: Mm-hmm.

Stephanie: I didn’t tell you this just because like we have become friends and I know you want to be friends with her. You do, don’t you?

Heidi: Anyways…I heard that you went to Lauren’s birthday from a co-worker. And I was like ‘First of all, I don’t believe this like are you kidding? You have to be kidding. All of the people in the world being like a sister to me and like a best friend to me and being Spencer’s sister.

Stephanie: I’m sorry like what do you want me to do? Like we do have fashion in common.

Heidi: I mean every girl has fashion in common, you know like…

Stephanie: You just apologized to her.

Heidi: Yeah but I apologized to her for something that we both were doing.

Stephanie: What did you and Spencer do to her that she…

Heidi: Nothing! I didn’t…if you’re really thinking that then I honestly don’t even wanna talk to you. If you really think I would do something like that. Like that’s crazy. I don’t know. Just be careful with her because one minute you’re her best friend and then the next minute…

Stephanie: Just like playing devil’s advocate. Okay why, what’s gonna happen?

Heidi: I have no idea. I wouldn’t have been able to tell you the events that have occurred in my life. So…I mean obviously you wanted to go.

Stephanie: I’m glad I went.

Heidi: Well that’s great. You know, you guys…it’s not like it sounds like the end of your friendship. It sounds like it’s just the beginning. (It then cuts to an air view of LA)
