Previously on The Hills…

Lauren: (V.O.) Heidi went to Colorado to get some space from Spencer.

Heidi: I just need to clear my head before I can even talk to him.

Lauren: (V.O.) But when Spencer followed her there, things went from bad to worse.

Heidi: When I get back, I want you to be moved out.

Lauren: (V.O.) Teen Vogue sent Whitney and me to Paris to work at the Crillon ball. While I was gone, I found out Brody had a new girlfriend.

Lauren: He has a girlfriend?

Lauren: (V.O. But I did my best to get over it.

Matthias: Lauren. Have you seen the Eiffel Tower?

Lauren: No.

Matthias: We can do that whenever you want.

Lauren: (V.O.) And after two years, Whitney decided she was over working for the magazine.

Whitney: I sorta see myself in styling.

Lauren: (V.O.) Sometimes going away gives you a different perspective on things. But when you come home, everything is different.

CUT TO: Hillside Villas

Lauren walks in the door of the apartment with her suitcase.

Audrina: Hi!

Lauren: I’m home, I’m home, I’m home!

Audrina: Oh my god. (Lauren runs over to her) How are you? (They hug) Hello! (They fall on the couch)

Lauren: I’m jetlagged.

Audrina: I wanna hear about it. How was it?

Lauren: It was a lotta, lotta, lotta, lotta work like and my body never really fully switched times so now that it’s getting darker it’s like morning for me, right?

Audrina: Yeah. Did you get any time to play or was it all working the whole time?

Lauren: We got a little bit of playtime but not really. We saw the Eiffel Tower at night with the band guys. They went to the Eiffel Tower.

Audrina: Oh the French band?

Lauren: Yeah.

Audrina: How was that?

Lauren: It was really nice to like get away from LA for a little while, you know what I mean? Just kind of like remove myself and get away from Brody and realize there’s other guys out there. But I think I’m kind of gotten to the point where I’m just over it.

Audrina: I know exactly how you feel. Did Whitney have fun too?

Lauren: I think Whitney doesn’t wanna work for Teen Vogue anymore.

CUT TO: Opening Credits

CUT TO: Teen Vogue Offices

Whitney goes into Lisa’s office to talk to her.

Whitney: Hi.

Lisa: Hi Whitney.

Whitney: Do you have a second to talk?

Lisa: Yes come in please.

Whitney: Thanks. (Whitney is now sitting down) So I wanted to talk to you about my future. I think that I’ve had a great two years and I feel so honored to have worked here but I feel like since working here I’ve learned I kinda wanna be in styling and I don’t know that I’ll have that opportunity here. I’ve kind of been behind the scenes and always assisting.

Lisa: Right.

Whitney: And so I actually got a call for a job opportunity with Kelly Cutrone here in Los Angeles. So I wanted to get you blessing first before I decided to make a huge decision and I didn’t ever want to burn any bridges and I wanted to get your feedback.

Lisa: Well two years is a natural progression to wondering where you’re gonna go next.

Whitney: Mm-hmm.

Lisa: And it’s time for you at this point to start looking at the opportunities that are available to you.

Whitney: Mm-hmm.

Lisa: That sounds like a great one and styling is what you want to do, I don’t have that position open for you…

Whitney: Right.

Lisa: If I did, I would love to keep you.

Whitney: Right.

Lisa: But of course, you have our blessing and recommendations will be made in your favor.

Whitney: Well thank you very much.

Lisa: Okay?

Whitney: Okay. Thank you. (Whitney leaves)

CUT TO: Bolthouse Offices

Heidi goes over to Kimberly’s cubicle with files for her.

Heidi: Wow this place looks amazing.

Kim: Yeah it’s different, right?

Heidi: Uh, here’s the files. (She puts on Kim’s desk)

Kim: Cool. So how’s everything going with you? Busy, busy?

Heidi: Um…you know, I’m getting back from Colorado, just trying to figure everything out with Spencer. I haven’t really like talked to him or anything since I’ve been back.

Kim: So is he gonna move out or…?

Heidi: Yeah I think he needs to like come over and get his stuff and…

Kim: Okay.

Heidi: You know, I thought it would out by the time I got back but I guess not.

Kim: It’s like the dividing of the things.

Heidi: Right. It’s gonna be such like a heart wrenching thing even though I want him to move out like it’s not gonna be easy watching…

Kim: Yeah.

Heidi: Him like pack up his stuff.

Kim: No. Are you gonna be cool with him if he starts to want to see other people or do you feel like you want to?

Heidi: I mean no. No like I thought we wouldn’t see other people. That was kinda like…

Kim: Okay.

Heidi: I don’t even wanna really break up I just need my space. I need my friends back like I gave up so much for Spencer, you know like I literally gave up everything for him.

Kim: I would just be careful though ‘cause it sounds like you’re going through like exactly what I went through with Danny. And it was kind of this thing where you know, we don’t have to be together and he would kind of use it against me. Be like ‘Oh well you’re not my girlfriend so…’ You know what I mean?

Heidi: Uh…I don’t even want to get into that territory.

CUT TO: Stephanie’s Apartment

Stephanie: Really like you went to Colorado and she got mad? Like what could be worse than that?

Spencer: Nothing thanks, that’s a great game plan, go get it as worse as possible and make him feel any better.

Stephanie: Well let’s find the bright side…

Spencer: There’s no bright side. I’m beyond annoyed that I have to move out. I would of rather never moving in knowing I was gonna eventually have to move out like…I just don’t even know.

Stephanie: Well, if you’re gonna be living here, and if Heidi comes back and she wants to hang out with me, I mean…

Spencer: Go hang out with her. Just don’t bring her here ‘cause she’ll be like ‘Oh Spencer, space…and you’re in your sister’s condo trying to hang out’.

Stephanie: Oh my god. Seriously…

Spencer: I’m dead serious. Just keep her away from me because I don’t want her to think that I’m not giving her space. And it’s like I hate dating. I don’t wanna start dating again. It’s like…

Stephanie: You’re even considering that?

Spencer: Yup.

CUT TO: Teen Vogue Offices

Lauren: How’d it go?

Whitney: Lisa was surprisingly supportive.

Lauren: Really?

Whitney: She just said basically, you know I give you my blessing, if you need a recommendation…

Lauren: That’s good.

Whitney: I know and I…it kind of like give me the little boost to feel confident in my interview with Kelly Cutrone tomorrow.

Lauren: Are you excited?

Whitney: Yeah I’m really excited. I don’t really see how I can pass up an opportunity like this.

Lauren: That’s so weird.

Whitney: It is weird.

Lauren: I mean it’s great for you.

Whitney: Mm-hmm.

Lauren: I mean hon…’cause it’s just weird ‘cause we got hired together.

Whitney: I know, it’s weird.

Lauren: And I haven’t known this job without you.

Whitney: And I can’t even imagine not walking in here every day and seeing you.

CUT TO: People’s Revolution – Whitney goes inside for her interview so it must be the next day

Jessica: (On the phone) Thank you so much. (Whitney approaches the desk) I appreciate it. Okay have a great day. Bye. (She hangs up and turns her attention to Whitney)

Whitney: Hi I’m Whitney.

Jessica: Hi I’m Jessica. (Stands up and shakes Whitney’s hand)

Whitney: Hi nice to meet you.

Jessica: Nice to meet you.

Whitney: I’m here to see Kelly.

Jessica: (She sits back down) Okay. You can just have seat right over there.

Whitney: Okay cool. (Whitney sits down on a nearby couch to wait for Kelly.

Jessica: What…what line? Okay.  (Kelly is upstairs and we can hear her but not see her)

Kelly: Hey it’s Cutrone. We have a serious problem. They hung the clothes outside on Nikki’s gate and I think someone stole them. So what you need to do now is you need to figure out who the f**king idiot is that would hang clothes on the outside of a gate, okay? All right I gotta go. I don’t wanna talk about this anymore. Thank you bye. (She hangs up)

Jessica: (On the phone) We had crystal mirrors from Daily Candy…(Kelly walks downstairs and over to Whitney)

Kelly: Hi I’m Kelly Cutrone.

Whitney: (Stands up) Hi I’m Whitney. (They shake hands)

Kelly: How are you?

Whitney: I’m good how are you?

Kelly: I’m well. Nice to meet you. (They both sit down) Listen uh, I don’t have a lot of time so…

Whitney: Okay.

Kelly: I just wanna say thank you for coming. I don’t know what you know about People’s Revolution but we have three offices. We have one in New York, one in Los Angeles and one in Paris. We produce more shows in New York than anyone. We’re a full service branding company. By the way, if we do decide to do this together, we would want you to come to New York and work with us during fashion week.

Whitney: Okay.

Kelly: Our office here is really about styling. We do sixty five… (She turns) Mike is it like 85% of our polls come from…from stylists coming in to the show room? (Mike nods and Kelly turns back to Whitney) So 85% of what this office generates is an influx of traffic from stylists that are usually working with the celebrities.

Whitney: Okay.

Kelly: I mean why do you want to work on this side of it?

Whitney: I think that the more opportunities I have and the more opportunities I put myself out there for, I should take advantage. I just think working at Vogue was an unbelievable experience, I just wanted a job that um, I could do more.

Kelly: What are your strengths, like why should I let you come work here?

Whitney: I could probably be very helpful in terms of, whether it’s, you know, stylists that come in here, pulling for photo shoots or styling for look books or styling for runway shows.

Kelly: Lisa said a lot of great things about you and she’s not an easy person to please all the time. I mean we have the same kind of work esthetic. So let’s just go out on a limb. We’ll just do it and we’ll see how it goes and we’ll re-evaluate everything.

Whitney: Yeah.

Kelly: But I think it’s really important to let you know this: like you’re basically making a deal with the devil.

Whitney: Why do you say that?

Kelly: Because you have to give up your life. The good news is you get a whole new one.

CUT TO: Prana Café

Heidi and Stephanie are sitting outside looking at menus.

Stephanie: Oh my god they have Eggs Benedict. This like my new favorite restaurant.

Heidi: I’ll never forget the time when Spencer said ‘I’m gonna get the mussel breakfast’ and I was like ‘Why, ‘cause you have no muscles?’ And he was like ‘Shut up’. I was so mad.  (They both laugh)

Stephanie: Oh my god. So I think Spencer’s moving in with me.

Heidi: Really?

Stephanie: Yeah.

Heidi: Huh…

Stephanie: So this is what you want? You don’t care if he dates other girls?

Heidi: No he’s not dating other girls. We’re not dating other people. Why, did he say something like that to you? When I talked to him last,  like we were just gonna start over. You know, where we weren’t gonna see other people, we weren’t gonna try to do that like we were just being together and living in separate places.

Stephanie: I don’t know, people do crazy things when they’re mad.

Heidi: I mean I hope he doesn’t pull anything ‘cause I really do…I really do love him and…I don’t know.

CUT TO: That Night – Hillside Villas

Lauren and Audrina are getting ready to go out.

Lauren: I feel like I need to go out in LA. It’s so long.

Audrina: I know.

Lauren: I’ve missed it so.

Audrina: I haven’t really been out. I went out that one night when you were in Paris when I saw  Brody and Frankie and….How you talked to him at all? (Lauren shakes her head) he might be with the new….girl.

Lauren: Probably.

Audrina: Aren’t you kinda like relieved that Brody is like kind of done with now?

Lauren: Yeah. I mean…I just really wish they weren’t coming tonight.

Audrina: Who cares.

Lauren: Dumb.

Audrina: Let’s just not worry about the guys. We’re gonna go out and have fun. We’re both like full on single.

Lauren: Yay! (Audrina laughs)

Audrina: I know.

Lauren: (She laughs) I’m actually really happy about it.

Audrina: So am I.

Lauren: You ready to go get in trouble?

Audrina: Mm-hmm.

CUT TO: Les Deux Nightclub

Lauren and Audrina walk inside. Lauren runs up to someone and gives them a hug. Someone comes up to Audrina and kisses her cheek while she is sitting down. Lauren and Audrina are now sitting at a table. Brody and Frankie walk in and Lauren looks upset to see Brody.

Frankie: Hey!

Brody: Oh! (Frankie walks up to Lauren and claps) Well, well…

Frankie: (Gets Lauren to stand up) Welcome back! (She hugs him)

Brody: Well, well… (To Audrina) She’s giving him a hug, you give me a hug.

Frankie: (To Brody) She’s mad at you. You never called him from Paris.

Brody: Oh she’s mad at me? (To Lauren) Oh you’re mad at me?

Frankie: You never called him from Paris.

Brody: You better not be mad at me. (Lauren sits back down)

Frankie: Never called him from Paris.

Brody: Whoa, I don’t get a hug or anything? You’re really not gonna give me a hug? You’re not gonna give me a hug right now?

Lauren: Where’s your girlfriend?

Brody: My girlfriend? Who’s my girlfriend? Who’s my girlfriend? Where’s your boyfriend, from Paris?

Lauren: I don’t have a boyfriend.

Brody: Oh really? You don’t? That’s too funny ‘cause I have friends in Paris and don’t you dare try to turn this on me. Oh no that’s…what is wrong with her? Why is she doing this? Try me as a friend like we always were.

Lauren: I am treating you as a friend.

Brody: I haven’t seen you in a long time. I’m excited to see you. All you…the first thing you say to me is ‘Oh Brody, where’s your girlfriend?’ That is…that’s ridiculous. All right fine.

Frankie: Stop.

Brody: All right whatever. Man stop it I’m out of here. (Brody starts to leave)

Frankie: Brody stop. Hey! Hey! Stop bro!HryH (Brody waves him off and leaves) (To Lauren) Dude what…?

Lauren: Stop. I didn’t do anything. What did I do? Oh my god, I didn’t give him a hug.

Frankie: You’re not being mean but you’re not being nice. And he really came here…he was excited to see you.

Lauren: Do I really have to be nice right now?

Frankie: Yes.

Lauren: Why?

Frankie: Why not? And I know what you’re talking about and why you’re mad but he loves you, you love him. That’s just…that’s real.

CUT TO: The Next Day – Comme Ca

Lauren is eating with Lo.

Lauren: So Whitney got that job with Kelly Cutrone and she’s leaving Teen Vogue today.

Lo: That’s really cool.

Lauren: I mean that’d be amazing for her, it’s with like celebrity styling over there.

Waiter (With food) Excuse me. (He puts the food on the table)

Lo: Thank you very much.

Waiter: Enjoy. (He leaves)

Lo: You seem a little like…uh…

Lauren: What?

Lo: I don’t know. Are you just tired from your trip?

Lauren: It’s just weird being back. I don’t…it’s something…I mean it was just really awkward seeing Brody last night.

Lo: What do you mean? Did he have the girlfriend there?

Lauren: No.

Lo: It’s hard because we’re all friends and we all go out and they’re there all the time.

Lauren: I know.

Lo: I don’t know what the answer is.

Lauren: Just Brody has a way of making me like I’m never good enough and I hate that feeling and I feel like I need to prove it to myself and like that’s no reason… that’s a good reason to like anyone…

Lo: Sweetie…

Lauren: What?

Lo: Of course you’re gonna for Brody. He should be the one that has to work to get you.

Lauren: Aw…you have to say that ‘cause you’re my friend.

Lo: I think it’s true though.

Lauren: Thank you.

Lo: I just don’t know how you’re gonna stop concerning yourself with Brody when he’s such a part of your life. You know what I mean? I’m not saying it to be mean, I just…

Lauren: I know.

Lo: I feel like we have this conservation a lot about you need to find a nice boy.

Lauren: Yeah. I just wish that it wasn’t like that, you know what I mean?

CUT TO: Heidi & Spencer’s Apartment

Heidi is in the kitchen as Spencer packs up his stuff.

Spencer: Oh yes, what would I do without my X-Box? (He grabs it)

Heidi: What else are you taking?

Spencer: I’m letting you have the TV.

Heidi: (Now sitting at the counter) Letting? I bought the TV.

Spencer: You bought the forty two inch. I bought the fifty inch.

Heidi: They were the same price.

Spencer: No they weren’t.

Heidi: We just split them.

Spencer: Whatever. I’m not gonna argue. (Taking books) Is Empire of the Sands your book?

Heidi: Yeah that’s mine. But it’s not like we’re broken up.

Spencer: Uh, in what sense?

Heidi: In the sense that…I mean you’re not planning on seeing other people, right?

Spencer: I’m giving you your space, remember? Lots of it. Um, all this stuff’s good. (He moves a box as Heidi watches sadly) Enjoy your space. (He opens the door and leaves as Heidi watches sadly. After he leaves, she sits there sadly with her hands in her hair)

CUT TO: Teen Vogue Offices

Whitney is packing up her stuff as Lauren watches.

Whitney: It’s so weird. It’s so surreal.

Lauren: You’re happy right?

Whitney: I’m really happy. I’m really happy…I’m just…I have a bunch of different feelings. I’m nervous, I’m excited, I’m sad…I don’t know how I’m gonna walk into my office and not see your face there every day.

Lauren: Oh, we’re having like a long distance relationship now. (Whitney laughs)

Whitney: I know. Is that gonna work?

Lauren: We’ll make it work Whitney.

Whitney: I hear…I hear long distances don’t really work that well.

Lauren: I hear that too but we’ll make it work. (Whitney laughs)

Whitney: Man, have we been through so much together. What…from almost getting fired, well not fired but what…the first night we worked at the Young Hollywood party, when Heidi and her friends crashed the party.

Lauren: We should have known it then!

Whitney: I was just about to say…

Lauren & Whitney: We should have known it then! (Lauren laughs)

Whitney: That she was bad news. (They both laugh)

Lauren: So funny.

Whitney: So funny. I think I’m good.

Lauren: Oh…

Whitney: I’m trying to decide what else.

Lauren: You wore the same bag as you wore on the first day.

Whitney: That is weird.

Lauren: At Teen Vogue.

Whitney: I find that very strange.

Lauren: Isn’t that funny?

Whitney: It’s so weird. I love this bag.

Lauren; First day I met you, you wore that bag.

Whitney: What are we gonna do without each other? I think I got everything.

Lauren: Oh I’m gonna miss you. (She gets up and hugs Whitney)

Whitney: I love you.

Lauren: I love you. Call me later okay?

Whitney: I will.

Lauren: I’ll help you pick out what you’re gonna wear for your first day.

Whitney: Oh my gosh. And you have to curl my hair.

Lauren: Okay.

Whitney: Okay.

Lauren: Bye.

Whitney: I love you. (Whitney leaves with her stuff. It then cuts to Spencer closing his trunk after putting his stuff in it and he gets in his car and drives away from what was once his apartment. Then cuts to inside as Heidi sits alone, looking very upset then back to outside as Spencer drives away. Then cuts to outside Teen Vogue as Whitney walks down the street then back inside as Lauren looks around the office now that’s Whitney’s gone, looking sadly at what was once Whitney’s desk then back to Whitney walking outside then to an air view of LA)
