Previously on The Hills…

Lauren: (V.O.) It had been an amazing year. I was finally over Jason and was definitely enjoying life as a semi-single girl. My friendship with Heidi had officially ended.

Lauren: I want to forgive you and I want to forget you.

Lauren: (V.O.) Audrina and I had settled in to being roommates. And I loved that we had really been there for each other.

Lauren: It’s just hard losing a best friend.

Audrina: I love you.

Lauren: I love you too.

Lauren: (V.O.) My relationship with Brody was always confusing.

Lo: So you want him to not to want to see other girls.

Lauren: I don’t want to tell him not to do that, you know what I mean? Who am I to tell him not to do that?

Lauren: (V.O.) I wasn’t sure if he was ever gonna change. Heidi and Spencer were starting to realize that being engaged wasn’t as easy as they thought.

Heidi: Don’t you dare leave again.

Spencer: I’m not hearing this.

Heidi: If you leave, don’t come back. Spencer!

Lauren: (V.O.) At Teen Vogue, I had worked really hard to impress Lisa after I had turned down the offer to go to Paris.

Lisa: Lauren’s gonna always be known as the girl who didn’t go to Paris. Do you regret that decision?

Lauren: (V.O.) And now Whitney and I were both about to be realize that when you least expect it, everything can change.

CUT TO: Teen Vogue Offices

Whitney enters and Lisa and Kimble are both there.

Lisa: Hi Whitney.

Whitney: Hi.

Lisa: How are you?

Whitney: Good how are you?

Kimble: Hi.

Lisa: Great you know Kimble. (Whitney sits down)

Whitney: Yeah how are you?

Kimble: Good.

Lisa: From New York.

Whitney: Good.

Lisa: He just arrived.

Whitney: Welcome.

Lisa: With very exciting news for you.

Whitney: Really?

Lisa: Yes.

Kimble: Brace yourself.

Lisa: We’re gonna send you to Paris.

Whitney: Par…again to Paris?

Lisa: Yes you are the lucky chosen one to go to Paris with Kimble to go to the Crillon ball.

Kimble: It’s…it’s kind of the most surreal mix of celebrities children and authentic like aristocrats and royalty.

Lisa: Yeah you might come back a princess.

Whitney: That wouldn’t be bad. (Whitney laughs)

Lisa: You’ll have so much fun but you’ll work really hard.

Whitney: As always. (Whitney laughs) Okay. (She gets up)

Kimble: See you soon.

Whitney: Oh and um, what about Lauren? Is she coming?

Lisa: I think Lauren had her chance to go to Paris.

CUT TO: Opening Credits

CUT TO: Bolthouse Offices

Heidi is making herself coffee when Kimberly comes in.

Heidi: Hey.

Kim: Hi. (She starts to make herself coffee) What’s going on?

Heidi: I got in another huge fight with Spencer.

Kim: What were you fighting about?

Heidi: We’ve been fighting about all this stupid wedding stuff and I told his sister like ‘Look I think this is all getting way out of hand’ and so then I guess she told him I was getting cold feet and he took it like I didn’t want to marry him. I just think we need to work on our relationship not and this wedding like let’s just get back to us.

Kim: Right. I feel like you guys keep fighting and then it’s okay and then you guys are fighting again and like you never really get to the root of like why you guys are…

Heidi: Right.

Kim: Getting so upset with each other, you know?

Heidi: I feel like I’m in a relationship with a five year old. I just don’t know what to do. Like I gave up everything for him, you know?

Kim: Yeah.

Heidi: I just need some like breathing room for a minute.

CUT TO: Teen Vogue Office

Lauren pulls her car into the parking garage. Then it cuts to the office she shares with Whitney. Whitney is already there when Lauren walks in.

Lauren: Morning.

Whitney: Hi.

Lauren: What are you doing here early? I thought I was gonna beat you here. (Lauren sits at her desk)

Whitney: Lisa wanted to see me. And I actually just found out I’m going to Paris.

Lauren: Again?

Whitney: Yeah.

Lauren: For what?

Whitney: For this Crillon ball. Lisa and Kimble asked if I would go and help out.

Lauren: Are they sending anybody else?

Whitney: Uh, I don’t think so.

Lauren: Oh.

Whitney: Obviously if I had my choice, I would want you there with me.

Lauren: No I know.

Whitney: Are you upset?

Lauren: (Shakes her head) I shouldn’t have passed the first time.

Whitney: The first time was all situational though. You can’t take back those things.

Lauren: I don’t know. I just like I tried to work really hard to show her but…it’s fine.

Whitney: You’re just disappointed that you…

Lauren: I’m just…I mean when am I gonna get a chance to go again, you know?

Whitney: I know.

Lauren: Stupid Jason. (Lauren rubs her eye, looking upset)

CUT TO: Who’s On Third

Spencer is sitting at a table outside looking upset when Stephanie joins him.

Stephanie: Hey. (She sits down) What’s wrong?

Spencer: I walked out on another fight with Heidi.

Stephanie: What? Where’d you go?

Spencer: Just home.

Stephanie: Mom and Dad’s?

Spencer: Yeah.

Stephanie: What did Mom and Dad say?

Spencer: I’m an idiot.

Stephanie: Have you talked to her? (He shakes his head) Oh my god, I’d kill you. This is bad.

Spencer: I don’t know what to do.

Stephanie: You’ve gotta send her an e-mail or something. I mean you can just say adios to the relationship if you don’t try.

CUT TO: That Night – Hillside Villas

Lauren is sitting on the couch cutting things up when Audrina comes in the apartment.

Audrina: Hey.

Lauren: Hey.

Audrina: What are you doing? (She walks over to Lauren)

Lauren: I’m just doing magazine cuts. (Audrina sits on the chair neat Lauren. Lauren looks at her phone quickly then puts it back down)

Audrina: Are you okay?

Lauren: Yeah. Uh, Whitney found out she’s going to Paris again today. They’re sending her. There’s like this Crillon ball and they need help dressing so they’re sending her again. She gets to go to the ball too.

Audrina: It seems like this year Lisa would’ve invited you or like let you go….

Lauren: But why would she invite me like when I said no, you know what I mean? Like they offered me an opportunity that like I probably didn’t even deserve at the time and I said no to it and for a careless reason so…they have no reason to offer it to me again.

Audrina: That sucks you can’t go, I’m sorry.

CUT TO: The Next Day – Bolthouse Offices

Spencer walks out of the parking garage and inside to try and talk to Heidi.

CUT TO: Inside Bolthouse

Spencer walks up to the receptionist desk.

Spencer: Hello.

Girl: hey how are you?

Spencer: Good I’m here to see Heidi.

Girl: (On the phone) Hi. Spencer’s here. Okay thanks. (She hangs up) Okay just a minute.

Spencer: Thank you.

Girl: You’re welcome. (Someone comes downstairs but it’s not Heidi, it’s Kim)

Kim: Hi. She left.

Spencer: Really?

Kim: Yeah.

Spencer: For the day, night?

Kim: I don’t know. She said she was leaving early so…If I were you, I would call her.

Spencer: Okay well if speak with her, tell her I came by.

Kim: I’ll call her. I will.

Spencer: Take it easy.

Kim:  You too. (Spencer walks out. It cuts to outside as he gets in his car. Then it cuts back inside of Bolthouse. It shows Heidi is at her desk, meaning she had Kim lie for her to Spencer when she told him she had left because she obviously doesn’t want to see him. She looks very upset)

CUT TO: Teen Vogue Offices

Lauren is doing inventory in the office she shares with Whitney when Whitney walks in.

Whitney: Good morning.

Lauren: Hey.

Whitney: What are you doing?

Lauren: Inventory.

Whitney: Oh putting away those bags? Yeah they’ve been sitting there for so long. How are you?

Lauren: I’m good. (Whitney is now sitting at her desk) What’s up? How you started shopping yet?

Whitney: No I just wanted to start making a list of actually what I think I needed.

Lauren: Coats, lots of coats.

Whitney: (Writing it down) Lots of coats, right.

Lauren: Gloves, earmuffs, like it’s freezing there.

Whitney: Have you ever been there in this time of year before?

Lauren: Where?

Whitney: Paris. Or have you never been there before?

Lauren: I’ve never been.

Whitney: Oh…coats, gloves, hats.

Lauren: You gotta…you’ll need a couple of nice dresses. You’ll probably have to go to events.

Whitney: I know…I…I only have a couple of days to do this. I’m going on Thursday.

Lauren: You excited?

Whitney: Yeah I don’t know how I couldn’t be. I know it’s gonna be a lot of work but it just sounds so fun. I really need to practice my French.

Lauren: I love guys with French accents. It sounds like they’re singing everything.

Whitney: I don’t know why accents are just so attractive.

Lauren: ‘Cause they’re different.

Whitney: Yeah. (The phone rings and Whitney answers it) Hello, Teen Vogue. Okay bye. (She hangs up) Um, Lisa wants to see you.

Lauren: Did she say why?

Whitney: No she just said ‘send Lauren in’. (Lauren throws out her gum and Whitney laughs) Throw out that gum. (Cut to Lauren walking down to Lisa’s office. Cut to Lisa’s office. She is talking on the phone in French. She sees Lauren. Lauren waves and mouths ‘Hi’ as she enters. Lauren sits down as Lisa hangs up the phone)

Lisa: Hi Lauren.

Lauren: Hi.

Lisa: How are you?

Lauren: Good how are you?

Lisa: Good. I just out of the phone with Phyla. She’s the director of the fabulous ball that Whitney’s going to and Kimble is overwhelmed so they need some additional help. So you are going to Paris.

Lauren: I’m gonna go to Paris?

Lisa: You’ll go with Kimble and Whitney and help Phyla backstage. It is a bit of a fashion show ‘cause all of the girls have to be presented so they’ll need your help.

Lauren: Thank you so much.

Lisa: Who’s gonna take you to the airport?

Lauren: Um…I’ll probably just go by myself.

Lisa: You’ll go with Whitney. She’ll make sure you get on the plane.

Lauren: Lisa do you think I won’t get on the plane this time?

Lisa: Well I don’t know last time you didn’t go so…you learned your lesson?

Lauren: Yes.

Lisa: ‘Cause it’s my favorite city in the world.

Lauren: I know.

Lisa: I ran away from home when I was fifteen to go to Paris.

Lauren: Fifteen?

Lisa: It changed my life. Hopefully it’ll change your life too. And it’s just magical. It’s just an incredible sophistication that you’ve never seen before. And I think it’ll be an incredibly inspiring trip for you. (Cut to Hallway. Lauren walks up to the office with Whitney with the biggest smile on her face. She walks back into the room)

Lauren: I’m going to Paris with you.

Whitney: Oh my god!

Lauren: I’m so excited.

Whitney: We’re gonna have so much fun! Oh my god!

Lauren: We get to fly out there together.

Whitney: That just made my day.

Lauren: Uh, made my life, try.

CUT TO: That Night – The Foundry

Lauren and Brody go inside for dinner.

Brody: I would pull out your chair but it looks like it’s pretty fixated in there.

Lauren: (She sits down) It’s stationary.

Brody: (He sits down) Whoo!

Lauren: I had a good day at work today.

Brody: You did?

Lauren:  Mm-hmm. Remember how I told you Whitney’s going to Paris?

Brody: Yeah.

Lauren: I get to go too now.

Brody: Wow when is this all going down?

Lauren: Uh, I think Thursday.

Brody: This Thursday? It’s really nice to know that you’re not gonna miss me at all.

Lauren: I didn’t say I wasn’t gonna miss you but I’m just so excited to go. I mean…

Brody: I’m a little sad that you’re leaving but…I’m happy for you to go.

Lauren: Why are you sad your single friend’s leaving?

Brody: What?

Lauren: There’s a lot of single people in LA.

Brody: There’s a lot of single people in Paris too. Stinky people with hairy armpits.

Lauren: Those are just the girls I think.

Brody: No, the guys, stinky.

Lauren: Then I’ll find a Parisian that showers.

Brody: So what, you really want to find a boyfriend, is that what it is?

Lauren: Where’d that come from?

Brody: I don’t know.

Lauren: What are you saying?

Brody: I don’t know. I just haven’t had the best like honestly I’ve not had the best relationships in the past so therefore I’m scared to get into a relationship.

Lauren: Nobody’s had the best relationships in the past. That’s why they end. If you really want to be with someone, it should be someone you really like, someone you’re really…

Brody: I don’t like…

Lauren: Someone you’re really proud to be with and you should want to call them your boyfriend or girlfriend.

CUT TO: The Next Day – Heidi & Spencer’s Apartment

Spencer: Well hello stranger. I thought you changed the locks on me. (He sits down) What are you packing for?

Heidi: I think I am just gonna go home for a little bit.

Spencer: To Colorado?

Heidi: Yup. (She sits down) So…where were you?

Spencer: Giving you space.

Heidi: Well I’m gonna give you some space.

Spencer: I don’t need space.

Heidi: I didn’t need space either but now I do. So you can think about what you want, I’ll think about what I want.

Spencer: I know what I want.

Heidi: I just don’t know what else to do.

Spencer: When are you coming back? You can stay here. You can have the place to yourself.

Heidi: I need to go home.

Spencer: So I assume the wedding isn’t going to happen anytime soon?

Audrina: You have a lot of black.

Lauren: Black goes with everything.

Audrina: Don’t forget your passport.

Lauren: Oh my god.

Audrina: I know. (Audrina zips up the suitcase)

Lauren: (Grabs her passport) Oh thank you for reminding me. I left it right there. Oh my god I would have gone to the airport without my passport. (She sticks it in her pocket) I hope I packed enough. I feel like I didn’t. I’m really scared. (Lauren puts the suitcase on the floor and lifts up what she holds to roll it)

Audrina: I’m sure whatever you don’t have, Whitney will have.

Lauren: (Puts her purse on the suitcase) Whitney’s an over packer. Never mind, I’m set.

Audrina: You got it all?

Lauren: Yeah I’m good.

Audrina: Okay well bye.

Lauren: Okay I love you and I will call you when I get there. (She hugs Audrina)

Audrina: You too. Be safe.

Lauren: I will. (She opens the door) All right, there.

Lauren: I got it. Okay bye. (Lauren leaves the apartment.)

Audrina: Bye. (Audrina shuts the door after Lauren leaves)

CUT TO: Outside Hillside Villas

When Lauren comes outside with her suitcase to get in the limo to bring her to the airport, Brody is there waiting for her.

Brody: I’m about to stop this. You can’t go to the airport looking this cute. (She laughs) I’m serious. (He opens the trunk) Are you sure you want me put this in?

Lauren: Put it in the trunk Brody. (He puts her bags in it)

Brody: Come on. (He picks up her suitcase) What? (Lauren laughs) Oh I think the trunk’s broken. It’s not closing.

Lauren: Close it. (She slams it shut almost on his hand)

Brody: Oh god. Whoa.

Lauren: Let me look at your finger.

Brody: No, no it’s good. (He opens the car door for her) Are you leaving me?

Lauren: Yeah I am. I won’t be gone that long.

Brody: What?

Lauren: I won’t be gone that long. (She hugs him)

Brody: I’ll miss you.

Lauren: I’ll be back really quick.

Brody: K. Be safe.

Lauren: I will. (She kisses him)

Brody: Okay?

Lauren: K. Bye.

Brody: Have a safe flight.
