Lauren: (V.O.) Spencer pushed Heidi to go after a big promotion at Bolthouse.

Spencer: I think you should do whatever it takes to get that position.

Lauren: (V.O.) But he wasn’t happy when she started working big hours.

Heidi: Nobody’s there covering the event and I have to get there right now.

Lauren: (V.O.) Whitney and I were still working hard on the Teen Vogue Young Hollywood party.

Lisa: Normally we have 800 names. I’d like to see 1500.

Lauren: (V.O.) And we were about to move on to the next step: casting male models. After Jason surprised us all…

Brandon: Jason and Katja, just got engaged.

Lauren: (V.O.) I was ready to meet a new guy But with everything that happened in Vegas…

Brody: Where’s my birthday kiss?

Lauren: (V.O.) I wasn’t sure where I stood with Brody. But something was about to happen that would help me see things a little more clearly.

CUT TO: Restaurant

Lauren is eating with Brody. Lauren sits down at a table.

Brody: I would pulled out your chair for you but it’s kind of a little bed we got going on here. (Brody sits down across from her)

Lauren: We’re excited for your barbecue.

Brody: I’m so excited.

Lauren: (Looking at her phone) Frankie called me twice.

Brody: Frankie? (She nods) Well you need to tell him you’re on a date.

Lauren: I haven’t been on a real date in like three weeks.

Brody: Hey there’s a certain type of nice guy you need to find.

Lauren: Tell me what I need to date Brody.

Brody: Somebody who’s not Mr. Perfect all the time ‘cause that’s just...

Lauren: I don’t want Mr. Perfect.

Brody: But like I said…

Lauren: (To waiter) Thank you.

Brody: Somebody who’s got to be a little bit of a bad boy. You like that. I know you. I’m going…

Lauren: …Bad boy…

Brody: I’m going after your taste. (They look at the menu) What looks good?

Lauren: Nothing’s catching my eye. (He gives her a look and she laughs)

CUT TO: Opening Credits

CUT TO: Bolthouse Offices

They are having a meeting.

Brent: So Wednesday night’s NASCAR. Rob’s in charge so Heidi you’ll work with Rob. And at the event, Heidi, I want you to work with Kimberly. She’s new. So just kind of like show her the ropes a little bit. You keep an eye on her, Rob will keep an eye on you. (Heidi laughs)

Heidi: All right.

Brent: We’re perfect, all right? Okay guys. (Everyone starts to leave)

Heidi: (Goes over to Kimberly) Hi I’m Heidi.

Kim: Hey I’m Kim (They shake hands)

Heidi: Nice to meet you.

Kim: So I’m the new Events Coordinator.

Heidi: Very nice to meet you.

Kim: Everyone keeps saying ‘Oh you’re the new Elodie’. I’m like ‘No I’m just the new Events Coordinator’. (They both laugh) It’s kinda weird.

Heidi: Has it been a whirlwind?

Kim: Really fast, yeah. I like it though.

Heidi: Yeah.

Kim: I’m a New Yorker so…you know…

Heidi: Exactly. You’re fast paced, ready to go.

Kim: Fast paced yeah.

Heidi: Is this your first event?

Kim: Yeah.

Heidi: Well if you need anything just you know let me know.

Kim: Okay.

Heidi: Okay.

Kim: Bye. (They both leave each other)

CUT TO: Smashbox Studios - Young Hollywood Issue Model Casting

Teen Vogue is holding their casting for male models. Whitney is taking pictures of the models. Cuts to Lauren who is dealing with the paperwork.

Lauren: (Hands a model a clipboard) Hi will you fill one of these out and then give it back to me with one of your cards? (A model, Gavin walks in) Fill out those. (He is looking for a pen) Pen’s right there. And then… (Lauren looks at Gavin, as if she has seen him before)

Gavin: (Filling out the form) Do you remember us doing the Teen Vogue photo shoot together?

Lauren: No, which one?

Gavin: Tennis court.

Lauren: Oh my god! Yeah! That’s really funny. Was I trying to set you up with my friend Heidi?

Gavin: Yes you were.

Lauren: Now I remember. (Whitney walks over to Lauren)

Whitney: Hey Lauren is there anyone to send in?

Lauren: (Pointing to Gavin) I did a shoot with him.

Whitney: Really?

Lauren: I was trying to set him up with Heidi.

Gavin: And she like, didn’t have any of it.

Whitney: It failed?

Gavin: She was like, no.

Lauren: ‘Cause she was starting to date Spencer.

Whitney: Oh…man.

Lauren: I was trying desperately.

Whitney: How things would have changed.

Lauren: (They all laugh) I was like ‘Date anyone else’.

Whitney: Oh my gosh. What’s your name?

Gavin: Gavin.

Whitney: (Shakes his hand) Gavin, I’m Whitney.

Gavin: Whitney.

Whitney: Nice to meet you.

Gavin: Nice to meet you.

Lauren: You’re up Gavin. (He gets up) I need you in the pink shirt and gray pants. Thank you. (He goes to change)

Whitney: (Cuts to Gavin changed) Okay if you could just stand on that platform. (She takes a Polaroid of him as Lauren watches. Then cuts to Whitney writing something as Gavin stands there)

Woman: Um you’re done.

Gavin: Nice.

Woman: Thank you so much.

Gavin: Sweet thank you.

Woman: Nice to meet you.

Gavin: Yeah you too. (He leaves and goes back to where Lauren is)

Lauren: How’d you do?

Gavin: You know what? I think I booked it.

Lauren: Woo, confidence isn’t an issue with you, is it?

Gavin: I’m kidding.

Whitney: (Walks in) He was really funny. (Lauren mouths something to Whitney which causes her to laugh and walk away)

Gavin: Got any big plans for the weekend?

Lauren: Mm…

Gavin: I just wanted to see if you wanted to hang out.

Lauren: Um, sure.

Gavin: All right. Can I grab your number?

Lauren: Yeah. (She writes it down) All right here. (She hands it to him)

Gavin: Awesome thanks.  All right.

Lauren: It was good seeing you again.

Gavin: Yeah you too. I’ll see you later.

Lauren: Bye. (He leaves)

Whitney: (Whitney comes back in as Gavin leaves) Bye.

Lauren: Don’t.

Whitney: (Sits down) I’m not saying a word.

Lauren: Don’t.

Whitney: Okay fine. (Gets up and leaves)

CUT TO: That Next Day – Heidi & Spencer’s Apartment

Heidi is the bathroom doing her makeup.

Spencer: Heidi! What are you doing?

Heidi: Getting ready for work. I have that huge NASCAR event tonight.

Spencer: You didn’t tell me that.

Heidi: Yes I did! Why?

Spencer: ‘Cause I set up dinner plans. It’s a surprise to make up for the anniversary dinner we didn’t get to have. (Heidi goes out into the room Spencer is in)

Heidi: Babe I’m really sorry but I have to go do this. It’s part of my new job. Why don’t you come by the NASCAR event? And then we’ll leave together and we’ll get a late night bite. (Spencer shakes his head and gives a thumbs down) It’s not my choice. This is really…don’t put that on me. It’s not my choice. All right I gotta go. So please don’t be mad at me. This is so ridiculous.

Spencer: I’ll see you at our anniversary…oh wait you’re not coming to our anniversary.

Heidi: Oh…I’ll be at work. Why don’t you try it?

Spencer: Oh it’s like that. (Heidi opens the door and leaves)

CUT TO: Hillside Villas

Lauren, Lo and Audrina are there. Lauren is doing Lo’s nails.

Lo: What’s this guy’s name?

Lauren: Gavin.

Lo: That’s exciting.

Audrina: Why don’t you invite him today to the barbecue at Brody’s?

Lauren: I did. He…I don’t think he’s gonna make it. He has to shoot a commercial today.

Audrina: Does Kevin or any of our guy friends know who he is?

Lauren: No I can’t do a background check. They don’t even know him.

Audrina: Good they don’t know him. (Lauren’s phone beeps) You wanna meet him for who he is.

Lauren: Oh...oh! Wait…wait.

Lo: Oh my god what?

Lauren: Gavin’s coming.

Lo: Yay!

Audrina: Gavin is coming?

Lauren: Yeah he said ‘Hey I just got done shooting, looks like I’ll be making it to the beach. See you this afternoon, Gavin’.

Lo: How fun.(Claps) I love passing judgment on people.

Audrina: I wonder how Frankie and Brody are gonna treat him ‘cause you’re like their girl, you know what I mean?

Lo: Frankie doesn’t care.

Audrina: Brody on the other hand… (They all laugh)

CUT TO: Brody BBQ

Frankie: Oh you missed out on Brody spinning in the bed with Lauren in our room. 

Brody: What are you talking about right now? ‘Brody in the spinning bed with Lauren’. (Just then Lauren, Lo and Audrina show up)

Frankie: Oh the girlies.

Brody: Speak of the devil…Frankie…

Frankie: Speaking of the devil.

Brody: I don’t get a hug Lauren?

Lauren: I’m making my way over. (She hugs Brody just as Whitney shows up with a friend) Whitney!

Frankie: (To Brody) I think Lauren’s bringing a date.

Brody: Yeah.

Frankie: You cool?

Brody: Yeah it’s fine. I don’t care.

Whitney: We met this guy at a model casting.

Girl: Is this Gavin?

Whitney: Yeah for the Marc Jacobs show.

Lauren: What do you stand around here and talk about me?

Whitney: We’re living vicariously through you.

Brody: We’re acting like your big brothers.

Lauren: Don’t embarrass me.

Brody: We’re not gonna embarrass you, we’re gonna embarrass him a little bit.

Lauren: Stop it. I’m nervous. Don’t make me feel nervous.

Whitney: It’s fine. (Gavin shows up)

Brody: What up?

Gavin: What’s up man? I’m Gavin. (Shakes Taylor’s hand)

Taylor: Taylor.

Gavin: Nice to meet you dude.

Brody: How you doin’? I’m Brody.

Lauren: This is Brody.

Gavin: Brody? (Shakes his hand) Gavin.

Lauren: (To Gavin’s friend) Oh hi I’m Lauren.

Gavin: This is my buddy Justin.

Lauren: (Shakes Justin’s hand) Nice to meet you.

Audrina: (Shakes Justin’s hand) Hi, Audrina.

Lauren: There’s drinks all up here, if you guys want anything.

Gavin: All right cool. (Justin and Gavin go to get a drink)

Brody: He seems like a nice guy.

Lauren: He is a nice guy.

Brody: He’s a little short though.

Lauren: I didn’t ask your opinion.

Brody: He seems like a nice guy. Hey….cheers.

Audrina: Cheers.

Gavin: (Now sitting next to Lauren) I went camping to Catalina a couple weeks ago.

Lauren: I hate camping. You camp really?

Gavin: Yeah. Why do you hate camping?

Lauren: ‘Cause you just get really dirty and it’s…

Gavin: Yeah.

Lauren: Just not fun to sleep on the ground. (To Lo) He just went camping to Catalina.

Lo: You did? Where did you sleep, in the hotel that’s on Catalina?

Gavin: No we went up as far north, where there’s no running water or electricity.

Lo: Really?

Gavin: Yeah.

Lo: That’s pretty manly.

Gavin: There’s like another beach just about an hour north of here and you can camp on it and build fires and so like I just made it sound like I go camping every day.

Lauren: Yeah.

Gavin: I like…

Lauren: We pretty much think that now.

Justin: When a girl says she hates camping, don’t say you go camping every day. (They all laugh)

Gavin: Right. (Lauren laughs. It cuts to Whitney and Brody playing volleyball. Audrina is just watching them. It shows Frankie sitting down while throwing a football in the air)

Gavin: We’re cooking.

Lauren: You’re cooking?

Gavin: We’re finally cooking.

Lauren: Thank you Gavin.

Lo: He’s gonna cook for you.

Lauren: He’s gonna cook for everybody though.

Lo: Yeah but he’s cooking for you.

Lauren: Wait who is he cooking with? (Shows Gavin putting food on the grill…with Brody)

Brody: So how’d you meet Lauren?

Gavin: I just ran into her at a casting last week. I asked her out. We’re supposed to go out Friday.

Brody: Oh…whoa…

Gavin: How do you know Lauren?

Brody: You have to get my approval here. Just gotta make sure that you’re a good guy.

Gavin: I’m all right.

Brody: You’re all right?

Gavin: Yeah I’m good. (Cuts to Lauren)

Lo: Have you talked to Brody about Gavin?

Lauren: I don’t think Brody cares.

Frankie: I think he got a little jealous.

Lauren: No he’s not.

Frankie: Yes he did. He got a little jealous. Yes he did.

Lauren: Brody and I don’t get jealous of each other.

Frankie: Yeah you do too.

Lauren: I really don’t have feelings for Brody.

Lo: Well, you did for a second in Vegas. (Cuts back to Gavin and Brody)

Brody: When was your last relationship?

Gavin: It’s actually been over a year since I was in a relationship.

Brody: How did it end?

Gavin: Not good.

Brody: Really?

Gavin: Yeah.

Brody: Why, on her part or yours?

Gavin: It was just a weird situation ‘cause she was like my best friend, you know.

Brody: Right.

Gavin: And so…

Brody: Before?

Gavin: Before, yeah. It wasn’t anybody’s fault. We were just young. We just went through a lot of stuff.

CUT TO: That Night – NASCAR Event

Heidi: It’s getting crazy.

Kim: I know.

Heidi: Um…okay. This person’s on the list.

Kim: Yeah.

Heidi: Right. (Looking at the list) Here they’re coming.

Kim: Yeah he’s already checked in.

Heidi: What else? Inside VIP rooms are all checked out?

Kim: Yeah that’s all set, everything’s cleared too.

Heidi: Okay. And the tables are coming in right now?

Kim:  Yeah I gotta check all the radios back in so I’m probably gonna be here till at least like three.

Heidi: Three?

Kim: Yeah. (Heidi phone rings and she answers it)

Heidi: Hello? (It is Spencer as usual)

Spencer: Hello?

Heidi: Hey babe. How are you?

Spencer: Fine.

Heidi: Um…I have to stay late tonight.

Spencer: Are you serious?

Heidi: But we can do it another night.

Spencer: Our real anniversary was three weeks ago. We can’t just keep putting this off.

Heidi: I’m sorry babe.

Spencer: Whatever.

Heidi: Please don’t be mad at me. (He doesn’t say anything) Hello? (She hangs up since it looks like Spencer hung up on her) (To Kim) Spencer just called.

Kim: Yeah?

Heidi: Now he’s mad. It’s not my fault.

Kim: It’ll be fine. Just talk to him about it when you get home, you know?

Heidi: Yeah.

CUT TO: Brody’s BBQ

Everyone is hanging out and Brody is talking to Lo.

Brody: He just seems so perfect and like by the book and everything is so like…maybe in a fairytale world…

Lo: Imagine me and Brandon coming into this like group?

Brody: I’m just trying to get something out of him.

Lo: It’s not ‘cause you still like Lauren, is it? (He gives her a look, like that she is crazy for even saying that. Then it cuts to Gavin and Lauren sits down next to him)

Gavin: Did you have a good time today?

Lauren: Mm-hmm. I always have fun at this house.

Gavin: Thanks for asking me to come though.

Lauren: Of course. You are a trooper. Thanks.

Gavin: I had a good time for sure. (Cuts to Brody talking to people about Gavin)

Brody: Like I said to them, I feel like he is being mister like perfect and it has nothing to do with jealously but I will give him a hard time just…not a hard time but just…I want to like see him have some reaction. (Cuts to Lauren and Gavin)

Gavin: Seriously though like all your friends do really seem nice.

Lauren: They are nice. They’re very good friends.

Gavin: They do seem really cool. (Shows Brody again) So I guess I’ll see you Friday?

Lauren: Mm-hmm.  (Cuts back to Lauren who is looking towards everyone else, then shows Brody then Lauren looking at Gavin again then shows far away view of everyone there)

CUT TO: The Next Day – Bolthouse Offices

Spencer gets out of his car to go inside to see Heidi.

CUT TO: Inside Bolthouse

Spencer gets out of the elevator. He approaches the front desk.

Spencer: Is Heidi available?

Girl: And you are?

Spencer: Spencer. (She dials Heidi)

Girl: Hey Heidi. Spencer’s here. Okay great thanks. (Hangs up) She’ll be right up.

Spencer: Thank you very much.

Girl: You’re welcome. (Spencer sits to wait for Heidi just as Heidi shows up)

Heidi: (Spencer goes over to her) Hey what are you doing here?

Spencer: Hey.

Heidi: Hi.

Spencer: Stealing you for lunch.

Heidi: (They move a little to talk privately) Um, no you’re not because I’m actually in the middle of a meeting. I wished you would have called me, I would have told you.

Spencer: Lunchtime you usually have off. Get Brent out here. Let me talk to Brent.

Heidi: Shh…babe…you know I’ve been working so hard at this job. I’ve been doing this for us, I’ve been moving ahead…

Spencer: For us? How does this have anything to do with us?

Heidi: I’ll be off work at like seven or something so let’s…

Spencer: Oh…schedule me in, you can fit me in your calendar? (She laughs)

Heidi: I mean you were the one who encouraged me to get this job when you know that it was gonna be a lot more time and a lot more effort.

Spencer: You said after NASCAR, that everything was gonna quiet down.

Heidi: I know but I’m really busy and I gotta go.

Spencer: Hope this meeting’s pretty important. (She walks away and he leaves)

CUT TO: Hillside Villas

Lauren is getting ready for her date with Gavin.

Audrina: Where are you guys going?

Lauren: To Sushi Dams.

Audrina: Sushi Dams?

Lauren: (Curling her hair) Yeah.

Audrina: Good. You have to try the crazy Danny roll.

Lauren: Crazy Danny roll. I’ll remember that.

Audrina: Good. So are you excited?

Lauren: Yeah.

Audrina: I know you haven’t been on a date in a while.

Lauren: I know.

Audrina: He seems nice but he doesn’t seem like your type.

Lauren: That’s what Brody said too.

CUT TO: That Night – Lauren and Gavin walking to the restaurant.

Lauren: Do you like Sean Kingston?

Gavin: I don’t know who that is.

Lauren: Yes you do. He sings that ‘Beautiful Girls’ song. You know what, I can probably…I can find it on my Blackberry and I’ll play it for you.

Gavin: All right. (They enter the restaurant and he pulls out her chair for her)

Lauren: Thank you.

Gavin: Yup. (He sits down)

Lauren: (As they look at a menu) All right what’s good here?

Gavin: Crazy Danny roll, Danny roll.

Lauren: I was told I needed to try a Crazy Danny roll.

Gavin: All right then Crazy Danny roll it is. Baked salmon roll…I get a baked salmon roll every single time I come here.

Lauren; I’m not a huge salmon fan.

Gavin: Okay.

Lauren: I’m just gonna let you order.

Gavin: All right.

Waitress: (Comes over to their table) Hi guys.

Gavin: How’s it going?

Waitress: How are you?

Gavin: Good how are you?

Waitress: Good.

Gavin: We’re gonna get a baked salmon roll, a Crazy Danny roll and what was that cucumber roll…?

Gavin & Lauren: Rock ‘n’ roll.

Waitress: (He hands her the menus) Thank you. (She leaves)

Lauren: I hope that barbecue wasn’t too uncomfortable for you. I got mad at Brody for that.

Gavin: Honestly for…the way he was towards me I thought he was being pretty nice.

Lauren: Well you’re just a very nice guy. (The good arrives)

Waitress: Baked salmon roll.

Lauren: Oh thank you.  That was quick.

Gavin: Here I’m gonna serve you up. I just want you to have the best experience possible. (She laughs)

Lauren: Thank you.

Gavin: With this baked salmon roll.

Lauren: (He gives her some) Thanks.

Gavin: Yeah.

Lauren: No…it’s really big. (She eats it and nods her approval) It’s good.

Gavin: (Nods) It is good. Tell me about some of the dates you’ve been on recently.

Lauren: Mm…they’re very bad. I have very, very…bad taste. No I didn’t mean that to you. (He laughs) I’m just saying like even general they seem very normal and then they’re crazy.

Gavin: So I seem normal but I’m crazy probably.

Lauren: No you’re not crazy. You’re very normal.

CUT TO: Hillside Villas

Lauren comes in from her date with Gavin. She sits on the couch and calls Brody. Cuts to Brody in his car. His phone rings and he answers)

Brody: Well, well, well. Somebody’s home awfully early for a date night.

Lauren: (Cuts to Lauren) Hey what are you doing?

Brody: (Cuts to Brody) I’m just uh, driving around. I just dropped Frankie off. (Cuts to Lauren) How was uh, the date?

Lauren: It was a great date with no sparks.

Brody: (Cuts to Brody) Well somebody didn’t listen but I think I told you that guy was pretty boring.

Lauren: I know, I know. (Cuts to Lauren) But I mean I needed to go, just to find out but I mean he’s really nice, it just, you know, he just went. (Cuts to Brody) So what are you doing now? (Cuts to Lauren) You just dropped Frankie off?

Brody: (Cuts to Brody) Uh yeah, yeah I’m on, uh, on my way home right now. (Cuts to Lauren) What are you gonna do?

Lauren: Um nothing. I’m just at home. I was gonna watch a movie.

Brody: If it’s not a boring movie… (Cuts to Brody) how about I watch a movie with you? (Cuts to Lauren) What movie is it?

Lauren: Does it really matter? (Cuts to Brody as he laughs)

Brody: I guess not. (Cuts to Lauren as she laughs)

Lauren: Okay I’ll see you in a few minutes.

Brody: All right bye.

Lauren: Bye. (She hangs up and it cuts to Brody as he hangs up. Cuts to Lauren. She smiles as she looks at her phone and waits for Brody. Then it cuts to an air view of LA)
