Previously on the Hills…
Lauren: (V.O.) Whitney’s new job was taking
off.
Lisa: Normally we have 800 names, I’d like
to see 1500.
Whitney: Okay.
Lauren: (V.O.) And she was getting more
responsibility than ever. Heidi’s engagement got off to a rocky start.
Heidi: You can’t really be mad at me.
Spencer: I can’t?
Heidi: No.
Lauren: (V.O.) But she was determined to
plan the perfect wedding. And with Jason back, I thought we could forget the
past and start fresh. But Heidi and Spencer made sure that didn’t happen.
Spencer: It’s great to see you guys back
together it’s heartwarming.
Lauren: (V.O.) Now I had no idea what Jason
thought was going on between us. But I was about to find out.
CUT TO: Restaurant
Lauren and Jason are sitting outside.
Lauren: So is this a new thing we’re doing?
I need to know because I’m really thrown by the shirt.
Jason: No I don’t really have like so many
clothes right now. I need to go shopping.
Lauren: Really?
Jason: I do.
Lauren: I have a ton of your clothes. (Laughs)
By the way, thank you for all my workout t-shirts. (They both laugh)
Jason: Oh my god, you suck.
Lauren: (To waiter) Thank you.
Jason: Yeah but I do want you to meet my
girlfriend. (Lauren looks shocked)
Lauren: Girlfriend? Really?
Jason: Yeah. She’s so cool so…
Lauren: What’s her name?
Jason: Katja. Yeah we’re gonna move in
together. (Lauren looks shocked again)
Waiter: Bread course here. Homemade
biscuits with uh, homemade butter. (Puts it on the table)
Jason & Lauren: (To waiter) Thank you.
(To Lauren) But I want you to meet her. I’m…I wanna have like a housewarming
party so…would you like to?
Lauren: I would love to be there.
CUT TO: Opening Credits
CUT TO: Hillside Villas
Audrina and Lauren are hanging out by the
pool.
Lauren: I went to lunch with Jason
yesterday.
Audrina: You did?
Lauren: Mm-hmm.
Audrina: How was that?
Lauren: It was good. It was kinda weird
though. I guess he has a girlfriend who he’s like moving in with.
Audrina: What? That was fast.
Lauren: And like…it was just kind of
like…’I have a girlfriend…and we’re moving in’. It’s like…Oh wow. I know. I
thought that was kinda weird that he didn’t tell me. He wants me to meet her.
He’s having a get together thing at his house.
Audrina: I’ll go with you.
Lauren: Will you really?
Audrina: Yeah.
Lauren: Okay thanks.
Audrina: We’re still going out tonight,
right?
Lauren: Mm-hmm. Yeah Whitney’s coming too.
Audrina: Oh…that should be fun.
CUT TO: Teen Vogue Offices
Whitney is meeting with Lisa Love.
Lisa: So you’re going out on your first big
photoshoot for the magazine. We’re shooting a band called red Jumpsuit
Apparatus. This is a huge shoot. There’s five guys. And bands are notoriously
difficult. If there is a problem, it’s your problem. It’s no one else’s problem
anymore. Take the help that you’ll need. You’ll take uh, Lauren with you.
Whitney: Right.
Lisa: Make sure that everybody acts
appropriately, all right?
Whitney: Okay, yeah, yeah. I can handle it.
Lisa: Good. You’d better handle it.
(Laughs)
Whitney: I will. I have no choice really at
this point, huh?
Lisa: Right. Uh huh. This is it.
Whitney: Yeah. Well great, thank you very
much.
Lisa: Thanks. Bye.
Whitney: Bye. (Gets up and leaves)
CUT TO: Bridal Shop
Heidi is trying on a wedding dress and Jen
is with her.
Jen: Are you excited?
Heidi: Um…yeah, I’m just looking. Are you
excited for your dress?
Jen: Oh yeah. I can’t wait.
Heidi: (Points at a dress in the window) We
should get you this one as a bridesmaid.
Jen: Mine’s gonna be Vera Wang (Heidi laughs
as they go inside)
Heidi: Oh I can’t wait to show you this
dress. (Jen is looking at dresses when Heidi comes out in her wedding dress.)
Jen: It’s so pretty. (The woman working
there puts the veil on Heidi’s head)
Heidi: I really can’t believe I’m gonna be
a bride soon. My heart is beating so fast.
Jen: How do you feel about it though?
Heidi: Excited but it’s…I mean it’s
way…it’s…it makes it so real.
Jen: Is Spencer excited?
Heidi: He better be.
Jen: Do you like talk about it and think
about it when you look in the mirror?
Heidi: Yeah
Jen: And you’re like ‘Wait…’Do you ever
think maybe this isn’t right?
Heidi: I don’t think so.
Jen: Like I believe people fall in love but
I think like at this age, it’s easy to fall out of love. That’s why I get
scared.
Heidi: Obviously you’re not in the right
mind frame but for me, it’s just…it’s different. Like I…I don’t wanna picture
my life without him. Like I would feel like my soul mate’s gone.
Jen: I just try not to be naive about it.
Like one of my best friends dated her boyfriend for five years, they just broke
up so… (Heidi looks at her reflection in the wedding dress)
CUT TO: Magic Castle Hotel
Whitney and Lauren get out of the car and
head inside to meet with the band for the photo shoot.
Lauren: Okay so we just have to try these
on and write down their sizes, right?
Whitney: Yeah. And then just take pictures
of them in it. (They walk inside)
Lauren: That’s easy enough.
Whitney: That is easy.
CUT TO: Red Jumpsuit Apparatus’ Hotel Room
One of them opens the door for Lauren and
Whitney.
Guy: Hello.
Whitney & Lauren: Hi.
Guy: Hi how’s it going?
Whitney: Good how are you?
Guy: Come on in.
Whitney: Hi.
Band: Hello.
Lauren: Hi guys.
Whitney: I’m Whitney.
Dewey: (Shakes Whitney’s hand) Hi I’m Dewey.
Lauren: Hi. (She waves) Lauren.
Guy # 2: (Shakes Whitney’s hand) How’s it
going?
Whitney: Hi.
Lauren: All right. We have jeans for you
guys to try on.
Whitney: Yeah.
Guy: Cool. Sounds good. Well…
Whitney: Yeah.
Guy: We definitely trust you seeing from
your outfits, they’re very cute.
Lauren: Oh thank you. (Whitney laughs) (The
band all gather around) Here, here’s a twenty eight.
Whitney: A small.
Lauren: (Holds up a pair) Thirty two is
what I was… (Hands it to one of them) Here you go. You can try ‘em.
Guy # 3: Thank you.
Whitney: (To one of them) What size are
you, did you say?
Guy: These are…a ladies eight. These are
girl jeans.
Guy # 2: So what’s going on tonight? Is
there anything going on?
Lauren: Tonight? Um…I think we’re going go
over to a little dive bar.
Guy # 2: Oh really?
Whitney: You guys should come. If you guys
aren’t doing anything.
Guy # 2: Yeah I’m definitely down for going
out.
Guy: Well, I’ll have to check my schedule
but… (Lauren laughs. Cuts to Lauren & Whitney leaving the hotel)
Lauren: That will be fun to go out with
them tonight.
Whitney: Yeah I’m excited.
Lauren: Do you think that’s okay though?
Whitney: (Opening the car door) I mean, I
don’t see why not. (They both get in the car)
CUT TO: That Night – The Dime Bar
Audrina, Whitney and Lauren arrive.
Audrina: Hi. (They go inside. The band is
already there when they walk in)
Whitney: Hi guys.
Guy: Hi. Good to see you guys. Come on in. (They
sit in the booth with the band)
Whitney: This is Audrina.
Guy: How you doin’?
Guy # 2: So should we just get shots first,
a round of shots?
Guy: Yeah let’s do that, for sure.
Whitney: So you guys have the photo shoot
tomorrow so I don’t know how smart that is.
Guy: You ever have a buttery nipple?
Lauren: Yeah.
Whitney: How about a red headed slut?
Lauren: Oh I like red headed sluts. Have
you ever had a red headed slut?
Guy: (Nods) A few. I’m just hoping that you
guys will do at least one shot with us.
Lauren: (To Whitney) Just take one.
Whitney: I’ll take one.
Guy # 3: All right.
Whitney: I hope I don’t get wasted! (It
cuts to them with the shots. They all do cheers before drinking them)
Lauren: (Makes a face after taking the
shot) Ugh! (Audrina plugs her nose because of the taste of it)
Audrina: (Smells it) Oh god! (Lauren sticks
her tongue out in disgust)
Guy # 3: So do you guys have plans after
this? Or is this about the end of the night?
Whitney: You guys have the photo shoot
tomorrow like we actually have to work it and be there pretty early.
Guy # 3: Oh.
Whitney: I know you guys probably wanna go
somewhere else, huh?
Guy # 3: Well we are.
Whitney: You are?
Guy # 3: You guys are more than welcome to
go where we’re gonna go.
Whitney: You guys can’t be late tomorrow.
Guy # 2: So are we good with Yeager? Can we
do Yeager? (Two of them bump fists. Whitney laughs)
Lauren: Uh oh…
CUT TO: The Next Day – Hillside Villas
Audrina is writing in a notepad when Lauren
comes in.
Audrina: Good morning.
Lauren: Good morning.
Audrina: You look tired. I can’t believe you
got up so early today. It was hard enough for me to get up.
Lauren: Uh…I know. (Sits on the couch) I
just hope the band isn’t late because we kept them out.
Audrina: Hopefully not. Otherwise you’re
gonna get the rap for it.
Lauren: I’m not gonna get the rap. I’m not
the boss.
Audrina: Whitney will.
Lauren: Mm… (Yawns)
Audrina: You look so tired.
Lauren: I am tired.
Audrina: You need like a power nap when you
get home from work.
Lauren: I don’t have time for a power nap.
Audrina: Oh wait. We have Jason’s thing
tonight. Do you think it’s gonna be awkward?
Lauren: It’s always weird meeting your
boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend.
Audrina: Well and she knows you guys were
together for a long time, you lived together so…
Lauren: I mean I’m gonna try to be really
nice to her but I just feel like…
Audrina: I can’t believe they’re moving in
together already.
CUT TO: Santa Monica Airport – It is the
Red Jumpsuit Photoshoot – It is 9:15 am when Lauren and Whitney arrive.
Lauren: This is not gonna be fun.
Whitney: I know. My head is killing me.
Lauren: I just really don’t want to throw
up. (Cuts to them unpacking stuff) Where’s the band?
Whitney: I don’t know. They promised they’d
be here on time. I hope we don’t get in trouble for keeping them out late. (One
the stylists, Lara is near Whitney as they’re at the racks looking at the
clothes)
Lara: Hey, they’re running a little late?
Whitney: Yeah I don’t know. (Shows Lauren
steaming clothes) Maybe they had car trouble. (It cuts to the time of 10:45 am
at the shoot. The band is just arriving)
Guy: There you go guys. We’re here.
Whitney: Oh thank God they’re here. (The
band gets out of the car, getting their stuff. Lara hugs one of them. Someone
moves a plane for the shoot)
Lauren: (To Whitney) Do you need me todo
anything boss man?
Whitney: So I’m gonna have you go look at
the 32’s in this style Lauren and then once you find them, steam them and come
back.
Lauren: (Walking away) Aye, aye.
Whitney: And I will take care of … (Goes up
to one of the band members) Oh you. Okay.
Guy: What are you trying to do? Why are you
holding the jeans?
Whitney: They want you to change your
jeans.
Guy: No way, sorry.
Whitney: Really?
Guy: I really like these a lot.
Whitney: These are really nice though. And
they’re small, they’re really small.
Guy: I know but I don’t like them ‘cause
they’re not mine. I really just like these a lot. (Whitney looks at everyone,
not really sure what to do) Sorry. (Whitney walks away with the other jeans in
hand)
Lauren: (Cuts to them watching the shoot)
You have to meet with Lisa tomorrow.
Whitney: I know. She’ll be like ‘Whitney,
you do not have a future in this…’ Exactly like that. ‘You do not…you do not
have a future’.
CUT TO: The Street
Heidi & Spencer are walking to a store
to go register for the wedding.
Heidi: Are you so excited to go register?
Spencer: So excited to go register. Woo!
Heidi: (Cuts to them in a store looking at
china) Look china! This is china.
Spencer: (Holding a plate) This is uh, what
you are so excited for? (Heidi holds a machine up to it and it beeps)
Heidi: That’s gonna be an expensive one.
(They go look at glasses) Glasses! We’re gonna need glasses! (She uses the
machine again)
Spencer: We have enough glasses.
Heidi: Well what do you want? You wanna
register at Blockbuster?
Spencer: (Laughs) Yeah.
Heidi: Not happening.
Spencer: (As they walks to look at more
stuff) Woo! What do you want? You want some more of these? I bet you do.
Heidi: (Looking at silver bowels) Oh I’ve
always wanted one of these. (She uses the machine again)
Spencer: That’s a dangerous thing for you
to have.
Heidi: Are you just over this registering
thing? (Uses the machine again) You don’t wanna do this?
Spencer: I don’t know what we really need,
from anybody. We have everything we need.
Heidi: But you’re the one who asked me to
marry you and you don’t even seem like you’re into any of this.
Spencer: I just think it’s silly to make
people buy us a bunch of stuff that we’re not gonna use. Oh now you’re all sad.
Heidi: We’ll resume this on a different
day.
CUT TO: That Night – Jason’s Apartment
Jason: (To someone) It’s good seeing you,
seriously. I’m happy you came. (Lauren and Audrina walk in)
Audrina: This is cute.
Jason: (Sees them) Audrina!
Audrina: Hi! Congratulations. (Walks over
to him)
Jason: How are you? (Hugs Audrina) Thank
you. How are you?
Audrina: Good.
Lauren: There’s a lot of people here.
Jason: Hello.
Lauren: Hi darling. (Hugs Jason) How are
you?
Jason: How are you? Hood how you doin’?
Lauren: Good to see you.
Jason: Katja!
Lauren: A ton of people here.
Jason: (Katja, Jason’s girlfriend is next
to him) Lauren. This is Katja.
Lauren: Hi.
Katja: Hi.
Lauren: I’m Lauren. (They shake hands) Nice
to meet you.
Katja: Nice to meet you too.
Jason: That’s Audrina.
Audrina: Hi (Shakes Katja’s hand) Nice to
meet you.
Katja: Yeah nice to meet you too. (Jason
kisses her)
Jason: How are you? (Jason pulls her close
to him, putting his arm around her) Lauren.
Lauren: Yeah.
Jason: Want a drink? (Hands her a cup, she
takes it and smells it. Jason and Katja have moved away from Lauren. Jason
kisses her again. Lauren drinks from her cup. Closes up to Jason and Katja as
they kiss a few times. Jason goes over to Lauren, which Katja and her friends
notice and don’t look too happy about. He touches Lauren’s shoulder) You okay?
Lauren: Mm-hmm. (He moves away from Lauren)
Girl: What was that?
Katja: This is so stupid.
Girl: Shut up!
Brandon: (Everyone
quiets down as Brandon, Jason’s friend speaks) We’ve got something to say. Uh,
well, some of our best friends in the house right now just got engaged. Jason
and Katja (holds up his cup and everyone else follows) this is to you.
(Everyone cheers. Lauren looks at Audrina, like she can’t believe what she’s
hearing. People do cheers with Jason. Lauren holds up her cup, not looking too
happy) Guy: Congratulations.
Jason: Good seeing you guys.
Katja: We love you guys.
Lauren: Is it bad that I really wanna
leave? (Cuts to Jason and Katja who are laughing and smiling then cuts back to
Lauren who looks miserable) I need air. (Lauren goes outside, which Jason
notices. He goes outside to talk to her. Cuts to outside. Lauren is sitting
down, and then it cuts to inside where Katja notices Jason left. Cuts to
outside again. Jason is smoking a cigarette, sitting down, with Lauren sitting
next to him)
Jason: What…what’s…what’s the face for?
Lauren: Nothing I’m just keeping it to
myself.
Jason: I know you don’t like her but…
Lauren: I think you’re being an idiot but
that’s your decision.
Jason: What do you mean by that?
Lauren: Why would you get engaged? You’re
twenty years old.
Jason: You’ve known me for so long. This is
like how I’ve been. I’ve always liked to be in a relationship and I finally
like…I meet someone I really care about.
Lauren: Why are you in such a hurry?
Jason: When I talked to you, your parents
got married like twenty years old.
Lauren: They dated for six years before.
Jason: They were like high school
sweethearts.
Lauren: You didn’t know her in high school.
You were dating her for like four months.
Jason: Seven months. (Lauren gives him a
look and he raises his eyebrows at her)
Lauren: You’re a big liar.
Jason: Six months and some odd days. I
mean…
Lauren: Well…
Jason: I just thought you would be happy
for me.
Lauren: You really want me to be happy for
you? (Katja comes outside)
Katja: Hi baby. (Sits next to Jason)
Jason: Hi.
Katja: Having fun baby?
Jason: Yeah I’m chilling. (Katja moves in
front of Jason and he puts his arm around her and they both look at Lauren, who
looks uncomfortable) (To Lauren) You okay?
Lauren: (Holds up her cup) Congratulations.
CUT TO: The Next Day – Teen Vogue Offices
Whitney is in Lisa’s office.
Lisa: Whitney, we need to talk about the
photo shoot.
Whitney: I thought I did okay.
Lisa: You ran the set? Did the call sheet?
Whitney: I tried, yeah. I did everything
that you asked.
Lisa: And diva moments or…?
Whitney: Um, there was one point where one
of them didn’t really want to take off this pair of pants he was wearing but…
Lisa: What did you do?
Whitney: I…I mean I told him I understood.
We had all gone out the night before. It was our way of getting to know them.
Lisa: That’s beyond your job.
Whitney: Going out with them is beyond my
job?
Lisa: Yeah…yes. You don’t do that.
Whitney: We wanted to entertain them, make
them feel comfortable because they’re only in LA for a certain amount of time.
Lisa: They were late because they were out
the night before or they were late because the car didn’t pick them up on time?
Whitney: I don’t know the details of why
they were late, I just know…
Lisa: I just want respect on every shoot
that we do and it’s very hard for them to respect you if you’ve been out the
night before.
Whitney: Okay. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean for
it to be inappropriate.
Lisa: No, no. You just need to step it up
now. As I said before, if something goes wrong on the shoot, it’s your fault.
Whitney: (Nods) Okay.
Lisa: It’s your responsibility. You need to
be the boss. (Whitney nods)
CUT TO: Breadbar Restaurant
Spencer and Heidi are eating outside.
Spencer pulls out Heidi chair for her.
Spencer: Here you go princess.
Heidi: Oh thank you.
Spencer: Let me get this for you. (She sits
down)
Heidi: Thanks. (Spencer sits down)
Spencer: So what do you wanna ask me about
the wedding?
Heidi: I was thinking maybe fall? Or should
we do it in the spring? Or…?
Spencer: I think we need to look at some
calendars.
Heidi: I have a great church picked out.
Spencer: I think we go to Tibet.
Heidi: We’re not going to Tibet. We’re not gonna fly our whole families to Tibet.
Spencer: Why do we have to have our whole
families there? I thought we were eloping.
Heidi: I want the wedding. We need to
register and I want the dress and…you know. Marriage…this is what a little girl
dreams of. I mean, do you think your parents wouldn’t mind if they weren’t even
there for the actual wedding?
Spencer: I haven’t really spoken to my
parents too much about me getting married.
Heidi: You haven’t told your parents that
we’re getting married? I can’t believe you haven’t told you parents. Why? Are
you embarrassed? You don’t wanna tell them?
Spencer: Embarrassed? Why would I be
embarrassed?
Heidi: Why wouldn’t you tell them? (They
just sit there, not saying anything but Heidi definitely does not look happy)
CUT TO: Teen Vogue Offices
Lauren and Whitney are walking to go eat.
Whitney: So basically I just got a nice little ass whooping (Lauren
laughs) from Lisa.
Lauren: Really?
Whitney: It was not really good. So I think the jest is I’ll just
have to do a better job next time. (They sit down at a table outside a
restaurant) So…you seem a little dazed.
Lauren: I’m a bit out of it today.
Whitney: What’s going on?
Lauren: We had Jason’s party last night that we went to.
Whitney: Oh, you met his girlfriend, right?
Lauren: Well I met his fiancé.
Whitney: Fiancé?
Lauren: They just got engaged.
Whitney: Oh my god. I can’t believe that.
Lauren: It was weird.
Whitney: Of course it’s weird. You just dated him a year ago and
then all of a sudden he was a fiancé? Like that is so strange.
Lauren: It’s not even…no it’s not even weird in that way. It’s just
like…I think I just like have an idea in my head of how I want my like party
where I announce my engagement to be.
Whitney: Yeah?
Lauren: And it…
Whitney: And it didn’t look like that?
Lauren: And it didn’t include a kegger, a Bob Marley poster, you
know what I mean?
Whitney: Oh my god. (She laughs)
Lauren: Like it was really like…it was difficult to take it
seriously. You know the program he’s in, he’s not even supposed to be dating
anyone and like…I just don’t wanna be the one to pick up the pieces again.
Whitney: And you won’t. Don’t let yourself be that person. You know,
like maybe the best thing is not talk to him for awhile and let him fall down and
let him pick himself back up.
Lauren: Yeah but I’ve seen him fall down. He falls hard. There was a
point where I was there last night, kind of like looking around. It really just
hit me all at once. I was like ‘This could have been me’. And as much as I love
Jason, I’m so glad it’s not. (It cuts to them walking back to Teen Vogue then
to an air view of LA)
