Previously on The Hills…

Lauren: (V.O.) After everything that happened with Heidi and Jen over the last year…

Lauren: You know what you did!

Heidi: What? What did I do?

Lauren: (V.O.) I was determined to stay close to my real friends. Heidi took Spencer to Colorado to meet her parents.

Darlene: If you guys end up having trouble, where are you gonna go?

Lauren: (V.O.) So the coast was clear for Brody to invite us to his barbecue.

Brody: We’re all here at the barbecue. You’re blowing it.

Lauren: (V.O.) And when Justin ditched Audrina, I was there for her.

Audrina: I’m done, Lauren.

Lauren: I know sweetie.

Audrina: I can’t do it anymore.

Lauren: (V.O.) Now Brody and I were hanging out again and that was about to make someone very angry.

CUT TO: Hillside Villas

Lauren and Audrina are discussing what happened at the barbecue.

Lauren: That was so weird that Justin just left you at the barbecue last night.

Audrina: I think I kinda overreacted.

Lauren: I don’t think you did at all.

Audrina: I actually left my helmet there last night.

Lauren: Were you needing the helmet?

Audrina: Probably. I mean, it’s one of those things where it’s up and down, up and down, up and down. When is it gonna stop?

Lauren: I mean, it’s been going on for two years and it hasn’t stopped. You think it’s gonna stop now? (Audrina shakes her head)

Audrina: I’m surprised Heidi and Spencer didn’t pop in yesterday.

Lauren: I guess Brody and Spencer are kinda drifting.

Audrina: Oh my god. They are gonna be so pissed when they find out we were hanging out with Brody yesterday. (Lauren shrugs, to show that she doesn’t care) Well I guess that’s what happens. I mean…

Lauren: I can tell Brody’s like trying to be cool about it but…

Audrina: Yeah.

Lauren: My how the tables have turned. (They both laugh)

CUT TO: Opening Credits

CUT TO: Bolthouse Productions

Everyone is there for a staff meeting.

Brody: Deb.

Deb: (Off screen) I’m coming, I’m coming.

Brody: Michelle. (To Heidi) Are Brody and Lauren going back out? I saw ‘em this weekend.

Heidi: I mean, last time I heard, they hated each other, so…it’s a little funny.

Brent: That’s pretty weird.

Heidi: That is pretty weird.

Brent: Deb.

Deb: I’m coming, I’m coming.

Brent: So you guys know that tonight we have a party for Chelsea’s soccer club.

Woman: Chelsea’s football team.

Brent: Chelsea’s football club (Laughs). They’re one of the biggest soccer teams over there. They are doing an expo game with the Galaxy, which just brought David Beckham here so it’s kind of a big deal. Heidi, I’m gonna need to set up check ins and um, keep stuff organized.

CUT TO: Epic Records

Audrina is outside with Chiara.

Chiara: Let’s not go back yet. Let’s sit down.

Audrina: I know.

Chiara: ‘Cause it’s so nice out.

Audrina: What’d you do this weekend?

Chiara: I was home for a little bit and then I came back and I went to the beach, pretty much. (They sit down at a table)

Audrina: We went to Brody’s barbecue in Malibu.

Chiara: Was it fun?

Audrina: It was fun but Lauren got really emotional ‘cause we were talking about how hard it is to good friends in LA and like good girlfriends in general. And she started thinking about when her and Heidi were such good friends. We’re sitting there on the couch, like it’s nighttime by this time and then she went in the house real quick and she came back out with my helmet and she’s like ‘Justin left’. I’m like…

Chiara: He just peaced out?

Audrina: ‘He just left?’ And I started crying.

Chiara: That’s not something you would usually cry about?

Audrina: No, never. I’ve never cried over a guy in my life. Never. And then I called him after. He’s like ‘You should have called me first like I’m the one calling you first’.

Chiara: Yeah.

Audrina: I got all emotional. I was like ‘How can you just leave without saying bye?’ like ‘I’m done, I can’t deal with this anymore’.

Chiara: Final straw.

Audrina: I’ve said that so many times, I just…I’m on this roller coaster ride with Justin, it’s like highs and lows and like…I like him, I don’t like him, it’s just…

Chiara: Whatever, roller coasters are so fun. (They laugh)

CUT TO: Heidi & Spencer’s Apartment

Heidi comes in after a day of work.

Spencer: Oh…the most beautiful businesswoman in town.

Heidi: How was your day? (Hugs & kisses him)

Spencer: Now it’s better. Mmm…a little lip gloss (Heidi giggles). Thank you, thank you.

Heidi: (Sits down) Um…Brent said that he saw Brody and Lauren together. (Spencer’s smile fades)

Spencer: That’s like hell freezing over to me. To each their own. Well good for them. They need each other.

CUT TO: That Night – Les Deux Nightclub

Lauren is there with Audrina and her friend Ryan.

Lauren: You wanna hear something kinda funny? We were going to the bathroom, there’s three sinks. So I’m sitting there and there’s two other girls and all of a sudden, one of ‘em looks at the other and there’s a moment and they start full on making out. Hands in the air, making out. (Ryan and Audrina laugh) Who makes out in a public rest room, with another girl? (It cuts to Frankie and Brody joining them)

Brody: (Singing)…You have me suicidal, suicidal…

Frankie: They have you what? Two step it, Barry, two step it.

Brody: (To Lauren) Hey listen. You know what we need to do? Listen real quickly. Sunday, this Sunday. Let’s all go to the Roosevelt pool.

Lauren: I’m there every Sunday.

Brody: Whoa sorry, oh!

Frankie: Oh!

Brody: You probably get there at what time? Six a.m.? Party moment. (Dances sitting down, falls over and laughs) So I wanna come, you need to be there.

Lauren: But you know what’s even more fun?

Brody: What?

Lauren: Your condo.

Brody: (Nods, smiling big) Oh! We’re going back to the condo, tonight, okay? Let’s get out of here. Let’s go. She’s coming with me.

Lauren: Brody. Spencer’s not gonna be there, is he?

Brody: Spencer…you gotta realize something real quick. Spencer doesn’t go out. Spencer stays home all night. We’re always together. I like you. We’re friends. Who cares. Let’s go have fun. Let’s go party. Come on, we’ll get you out of here. (Brody helps her up and they leave for his condo)

CUT TO: The Next Day – Teen Vogue Offices

Whitney: Okay, the next one is a navy dress with brown lining and red lining as well.

Lauren: Who’s the brand? What brand is it?

Whitney: (Looks at a tag) April May.

Lauren: (Looks at a list) That is not here.

Whitney: It’s not? Were you out last night?

Lauren: I was. I went to Les Deux.

Whitney: That’s fun.

Lauren: Yeah.

Whitney: (A different outfit) Lilly McNeil, pink shirt.

Lauren: (Looks through pages) Oh I did find it.

Whitney: Oh okay.

Lauren: Is that it? Yeah all right, found it. Brody and Frankie were there too so we all just sat together.

Whitney: Oh that’s nice.

Lauren: Mm-hmm.

Whitney: No Spencer and Heidi?

Lauren: No. I guess Spencer found that Brody had been hanging out with me and now he’s not returning Brody’s phone calls.

Whitney: That’s a little, um, immature.

Lauren: But you know what? It happens. Me and Heidi were best friends.

Whitney: That’s true. But you guys didn’t end being friends because she was hanging out with someone you didn’t necessarily like, you know?

Lauren: (Laughing) That’s exactly why we stopped being friends.

Whitney: Yeah but Brody’s not dating you.

Lauren: Oh I know, I know, I know.

Whitney: He’s like…you guys are friends. It’s probably just a momentary tiff.

Lauren: Ah! I love that word…tiff. You know my name was gonna be Tiffany? Or Crystal. (Whitney makes a really grossed out face which cracks Lauren up)

Whitney: Crystal?

Lauren: Could you see me as Tiffany or Crystal?

Whitney: Tiff! Crys! Chrissy!

Lauren: Crystal!

Whitney: Crystal! (They both laugh)

CUT TO: That Night – Hillside Villas

Lauren, Lo & Audrina are all getting ready to go out.

Lauren: Audrina!

Audrina: Yeah?

Lauren: I have a wardrobe question for you.

Audrina: Yes? (Audrina comes out of her bathroom into the bedroom where Lo and Lauren are)

Lauren: (Holds up a light blue silk top) Blue?

Audrina: That’s cute.

Lauren: Or… (Holds up a black top) the black…with…?

Audrina: I like the blue.

Lauren: Where are you going?

Audrina: I am going to dinner with Justin.

Lo: Oh cute.

Audrina: Yeah.

Lauren: Where are you going?

Audrina: We’re going to Toi.

Lauren: Oh I’m sorry. We’re in your way. You’re trying to get ready for your date.

Audrina: No I don’t care.

Lo: Now is he gonna be here soon?

Audrina: Yeah he should be here soon.

Lo: Is he coming up?

Audrina: No he’s like… (Looks through her phone) ‘I’m gonna call you so just come down’.

Lauren: Wait, have you seen him since the barbecue?

Audrina: No. Well I’ve talked to him. He wants to take things super slow and evolve and like become best friends before…boyfriend and girlfriend.

Lo: Haven’t you been dating him off and on for two years?

Audrina: Yeah.

Lo: How long have you been dating him recently?

Audrina: Like four months.

Lo: Oh…he should probably be your boyfriend by now. (Cuts to Justin arriving outside. He honks his horn and Audrina comes down)

Audrina: (She opens the passenger door) Hello there. (He laughs as she gets in the car) Hi…ouch. How are you?

Justin: Good, how are you? (They kiss) Nice to see ya. Let’s go. (He starts the car and they leave)

CUT TO: Toi

Audrina and Justin walk inside.

Audrina: (To host outside) Hi.

CUT TO: Inside Toi

Justin: I think I’m gonna do the uh, rice with the pork.

Audrina: Yeah.

Justin: Are you full? You’re full, huh?

Audrina: I ate that Chinese food earlier.

Justin: Why would we even go to dinner?

Audrina: We’re hanging out and we’re getting to know each other.

Justin: Well I know you.

Audrina: No you don’t.

Justin: Sometimes you surprise me. But I get the gist of it.

Audrina: The gist of it? Am I that easy to figure out?

Justin: No but I mean think of how long we’ve known each other. I can’t see any other way but to take it slow and be cool, you know what I mean?

Audrina: Like how slow is slow for you?

Justin: (He shrugs) It’s not a matter of like how slow or fast. It’s just like…for me, putting a statement on things, be gone, like I don’t like that. It’s just, the fact of…

Audrina: Like the whole boyfriend/girlfriend label? Like Lauren and everyone, they go,’ What are you now?’

Justin: Who cares? I don’t like the fact that things get in your ear or my ear, like ‘are you guys boyfriend/girlfriend?’ like who f**king cares? Like why do they f**king care? It actually pisses me off because when something’s working, you don’t go f*k it up by putting labels or doing something stupid like throwing a ring on your finger because society or friends said so. So you know what? F*k ‘em. Literally, f*k ‘em. (Audrina doesn’t look happy about what Justin just said)

CUT TO: The Next Day – Brody’s Car

Brody is driving as he calls Spencer on his phone.

CUT TO: Spencer & Heidi’s Apartment

Spencer is on his laptop when the phone rings.

Spencer: Yo, what up?

Brody: Yo, bro. (Cuts to Brody) Dude, I’ve called you like five times like why…you’re not returning my phone calls?

Spencer: (Cuts to Spencer) I really have nothing to say to you.

Brody: (Cuts to Brody) Oh you’re mad at me? What are you mad at me for?

Spencer: ‘Cause I’ve been hearing about…(Cuts to Spencer who goes out on the deck) who your new little best friend is…(Cuts to Brody) and I don’t respect that.

Brody: Dude, if you are mad at me for hanging out with Lauren that is ridiculous. (Cuts to Spencer) It’s like how long have we been friends for? I’m not gonna have an enemy just ‘cause you hate her. That’s just not who I am.

Spencer: (Cuts to Brody) No you can make excuses, excuses, this and that. I care about (Cuts to Spencer) loyalty and you have none of it.

Brody: (Cuts to Brody) Dude I don’t have a problem with you. You know that. It’s like I love you, we’ve been best friends since kids…(Cuts to Spencer) It’s like I don’t have a problem with Lauren either…(Cuts to Brody) so I’m just gonna go around hating Lauren just ‘cause you hate Lauren.

Spencer: (Cuts to Spencer) You are rolling around with my enemy so that makes you my enemy. (Cuts to Brody) Do you not see how that works?

Brody: This is like…I feel like I’m back in high school with this. How long have I been friends with you?

Spencer: (Cuts to Spencer) I have nothing to say to you. (Hangs up)

Brody: (Cuts to Brody) Little bitch. (Brody slams his phone down. Cuts to Spencer who goes back inside then back to Brody as he drives down the street)

CUT TO: The Roosevelt Pool

Everyone is there, hanging out.

Lo: Are we gonna start checking out dudes?

Lauren: Yes.

Lo: (Cuts to a buff guy with brown hair) What about that guy?

Lauren: Okay homeboy is not cute. (Cuts back to them) I don’t know what you’re on. First of all, I can see ribs. I like a little meat on my man. (They all laugh) (To Audrina) So tell us. Tell us about our big date with Justin.

Lo: Oh yeah.

Audrina: I don’t know, it doesn’t seem like he wants to be boyfriend and girlfriend.

Lauren: Wait, are you or aren’t you?

Guy: Exactly, it seems like…

Audrina: Well, he doesn’t want any labels. It’s a thing I have to get used to and I don’t wanna be over sensitive.

Lauren: You weren’t being over sensitive. He’s being an over assh**e.

Audrina: Who knows? I’m just gonna give it a rest for a while. (It cuts to Brody and Frankie showing up and joining everyone. Lauren runs up to Brody and hugs him)

Frankie: Oh surprise! (Lauren hugs Frankie as Audrina hugs Brody. As they all sat down, Brody sits next to Lauren) (To Lauren) I called you yesterday.

Lauren: Did you leave a message?

Brody: You calling my lady, dog? You better watch out.

Frankie: Oh, that’s your lady, again? (Lauren shakes her head) Huh? Maybe, cause you had that sleepover the other night.

Audrina: Yeah, what up with the sleepover?

Lauren: Uh, Lauren had been drinking and…

Brody: Oh, don’t try to act like…

Lauren: What?

Frankie: Lauren was drinking and she couldn’t drive home…

Lauren: You want me to drive home?

Frankie: Okay!

Lauren: Shut up.

Brody: No it was a friendly sleepover. (Frankie air quotes ‘friendly sleepover’) It was.

Frankie: Spencer got mad ‘cause you came over the other night to the condo.

Lauren: So?

Brody: Spencer broke up with me.

Lauren: Why is he mad?

Brody: The thing is, what I said is, or what I tried to say to him but he hung up on me before I could even say it but like that’s between you and Spencer.

Lauren: I’m sorry.

Brody: He hung up on me and said I had no loyalty to him

Lauren: I don’t care that you hang out with them.

Brody: Oh you shut…you harassed me before.

Lauren: I’ll harass you but I wouldn’t be like ‘Oh I’m not talking to you anymore Brody’.

Brody: Him and Heidi, just, I guess they’re just inseparable and that’s all he needs right now. That’s what I feel like.

Lauren: Aw…

Frankie: I got him on the rebound. (Brody pretends to cry)

Lauren: Aw… (Rubs Brody’s back)

Brody: Frankie… so now me and Frankie, uh, started dating. (Everyone laughs)

CUT TO: Heidi & Spencer’s Apartment

Heidi is folding laundry while Spencer just sits there.

Heidi: I have a fun activity.

Spencer: A fun activity? What is it?

Heidi: You can help me fold laundry.

Spencer: I’m working here darling.

Heidi: Excuse me?

Spencer: But I will mentally be here for ya.

Heidi: Thanks, I appreciate your mental help.

Spencer: No worries. Moral support.

Heidi: So I’m having breakfast with Jen Bunney today.

Spencer: Jen Bunney breakfast. I bet that’ll be exciting.

Heidi: I feel like we’ve kind of just grown apart a little bit. I don’t know like…we always hung out withy Lauren type of thing.

Spencer: Jen’s not talking to Lauren, is she?

Heidi: No but I feel like she just let Lauren do the same thing she did to me, you know, she got so mad at her.

Spencer: The whole thing is just so ridiculous.

Heidi: What do you say, just you and I go to Don Antonio’s for dinner? (She smiles at him and he does nod but he doesn’t look too excited about it, which makes Heidi’s smile disappear. She picks up the stuff she folded) All right I’m gonna go to breakfast. (She walks away)

CUT TO: Doughboys Restaurant

Jen is sitting at a table outside waiting for Heidi.

Jen: (To waiter) Hi. Uh, just water for now. Yeah. (Jen looks at her phone. It cuts to Heidi walking to meet Jen. Jen smiles when she sees Heidi) Hi.

Heidi: Hi.

Jen: (Gets up) How are you?

Heidi: You look so different. (They hug)

Jen: Good to see you.

Heidi: What are you doing? (They sit down)

Jen: Uh…you know. I’m so hungry.

Heidi: Have you ordered yet? (Jen shakes her head) What has been going on?

Jen: (Moves her purse off the table) Everything. What about you?

Heidi: I don’t know. Same old, same old.

Jen: So have you not been going out at all?

Heidi: (Shakes her head) No, not really.

Jen: Are you not friends with Frankie and all them anymore? Or are you?

Heidi: I mean I was never really friends with them.

Jen: Yes you were.

Heidi: Only because that was Spencer’s friends. I never hung out with them before that, you know?

Jen: Well is Spencer still friends with those kids?

Heidi: Um…I don’t think Spencer and Brody are really friends anymore.

Jen: Spencer and Brody?

Heidi: You know what happened was Brody was saying things about Lauren…

Jen: I can’t hear you. Brody was saying things about Lauren?

Heidi: So then he starts hanging out with her. And Spencer’s like ‘You know what, dude? It’s like where’s your loyalty?’ It’s like you who spread all those rumors is Brody Jenner and it’s like she’s hanging out with Brody Jenner as her new friend?

Jen: We don’t know that though.

Heidi: I do know that. I…I’m…I wasn’t the one…how…?

Jen: How do you know that?

Heidi: Because I heard him say things about it. But that’s their relationship, you know?

Jen: It’s just sad how that in the past year, so…like so many of our close friendships have just like disincarnated like this time last year, do you know, like, like me, you and Lauren were having the best time of our like…having so much fun?

Heidi: Maybe you’ll be friends again.

Jen: You know what she said to me when we were fighting? She’s like ‘You know that I don’t wanna be friends with you right now. You know that we need our space right now’. And I was like ‘Yeah’. She was like ‘If you ever needed me, really needed me, 2 a.m. in the morning crying, you know I’d be there in a second’.

Heidi: Well if you talk to her, tell her I say ‘Hello’.

Jen: Do you think that you would ever like ever be friends with her again?

Heidi: It’s funny how one…it’s just funny how things happen, you know? I don’t really care.

Jen: Yes you do. (They just sit there, not really saying anything. Heidi even picks at her food. Seeing as it is now awkward between them, they decide to part ways, getting up from the table. They hug before separating)

CUT TO: Roosevelt Pool
