Lauren: (V.O.) After Spencer surprised Heidi with videogames and graffiti for their apartment…

Spencer: It’s a gift.

Heidi: Oh my god.

Lauren: (V.O.) Heidi’s frustration couldn’t be covered up any longer.

Heidi: I mean, I thought we should make decisions together. What furniture we get, what we put on the wall…

Spencer: I totally agree.

Lauren: (V.O.) Audrina decided to start seeing her ex-boyfriend again.

Lauren: (To Audrina) He abandoned you in Vegas.

Lauren: Keeping my opinions to myself. They just get me in trouble.

Lauren: (V.O.) As much as I really wanted Audrina to have a boyfriend, I just wasn’t sure if this was the right guy.

Audrina: (Trying to cover up Justin’s mouth after he burps) Excuse you, mister!

Lauren: (V.O.) We all just needed to have some fun and Brody’s upcoming beach party seemed like the perfect place to do it. Especially since Heidi was about to take Spencer away for the weekend.

CUT TO: Store

Heidi & Spencer are getting Heidi’s engagement ring re-sized.

Heidi: Hi.

Spencer: Hello.

Owner: Hello.

Heidi: How are you?

Owner: How are you?

Heidi: Good, how are you?

Owner: How can I help you?

Heidi: Um…I actually have a ring that I need to be sized.

Owner: Okay. (He looks at the ring on Heidi’s finger) Of course. (Heidi takes the ring off and hands it to him) Beautiful ring.

Heidi: Thank you.

Owner: Very nice. Your finger?

Heidi: (Confused on which hand the ring goes on) Or should it be this one?

Spencer: Which hand is engagement ring?

Heidi: (Taps her left hand) This one.

Owner: (Puts something on her finger to size it) It’s perfect.

Heidi: All right perfect, great.

Owner: Give me a second please.

Heidi: Okay thank you. (He leaves them) So I was thinking maybe um, you could come back to Colorado with me for a weekend if you want. And meet my dad and you know, meet my sister and my brother this weekend.

Spencer: Um…this weekend was the barbecue we were doing but…

Heidi: Well if there’s a barbecue you want to go to…

Spencer: No, no, no. I would much rather go meet your family and go to Colorado. Wow…

CUT TO: Opening Credits

CUT TO: STI Motor Sports

Spencer and Brody are shopping for tires.

Spencer: Whoo-ee!

Brody: Wow…

Spencer: Little kid in a candy store. Damn…

Brody: These are all Mercedes. You don’t want to get the BMW ones.

Spencer: No, no…So this weekend, I’m going to go meet Heidi’s whole family in Colorado.

Brody: This weekend is the barbecue that we planned two months ago with Nick and Frankie and all the boys, if you forgot about that.

Spencer: I’m gonna be there in spirit.

Brody: Homie, we’ve been planning this for two months. It’s like you’re all…don’t look at me like that, you’ve known about it for two months. Check your little Blackberry schedule.

Spencer: All right how many barbecues have we had, five hundred barbecues?

Brody: I mean, there’s a lot…it doesn’t matter, we’ve planned on this. Just stop flaking out. If you’re gonna make plans with me, then stick with it.

Spencer: You sound a lot like LC over there.

Brody: No I’m just saying. I understand that you’re in love but it just sucks when you just flake out on the homies like that.

CUT TO: The Beach

Audrina is walking near the water with Justin. Justin grabs Audrina, putting his arms around her. She grabs his hand then lets go, running along the beach a little.

Audrina: Isn’t it nice being here, instead of Hollywood?

Justin: Hollywood doesn’t have this.

Audrina: No. (They pick a spot and sit down) It seems like you and Lauren got off to a rough start. I hope you two can get along.

Justin: It’s all good.

Audrina: She’s just worried.

Justin: For you?

Audrina: For me ‘cause I’ve been screwed over by so many guys.

Justin: Aw…dum, dum, dum…

Audrina: She’s just like, you know, looks out for her friends.

Justin: She did, that’s being a good friend.

Audrina: Yeah.

Justin: She doesn’t need to worry about it…till you piss me off.

Audrina: Till I piss you off?

Justin: Yeah. Right then it’s all good. (They bump fists) So…you’re cute. You are. You’re cute.

Audrina: Thanks. (She laughs and pretends to hit him)

Justin: That’s it. (She laughs)

CUT TO: That Night – Spencer & Heidi’s Apartment

They are packing for Colorado.

Spencer: I am very excited. A tad nervous, actually.

Heidi: Yeah?

Spencer: (Laughs) All your whole family know we’re coming or just your mom?

Heidi: (Looking through clothes in the closet) Um…I think the whole town knows we’re coming. (Laughs) Just kidding.

Spencer: Do your parents know all about our relationship, like what do they know?

Heidi: (Comes back over to him) What do you mean all about our relationship?

Spencer: Like give me some intel.

Heidi: They know we live together…

Spencer: Okay…

Heidi: I mean I talk to my mom every day.

Spencer: Yeah this is pretty much the heaviest thing I’ve ever done. (They look at each other)

CUT TO: The Boulevard Lounge

Lauren is eating dinner there with Audrina and Lo.

Lauren: What are guys doing tomorrow? Brody’s having a barbecue over at uh, Malibu and he wanted me to invite you (Points at Lo) and you (Points at Audrina)

Lo: Oh that’s fun.

Audrina: It’s our first beach barbecue of the summer. It’s gonna be fun.

Lo: So you’re friends with Brody again.

Lauren: I’m always friends with my exes though.

Lo: I know. You are good at that.

Lauren: The thing with Brody and I, we really enjoy each others company, we get along really well.

Audrina: Do you think he’d mind if I brought Justin?

Lauren: No, no, no. He said we could bring people so…

Lo: Well it’s always nice to have somebody like new and unique in your life.

Lauren: She’s been on and off with him for two years.

Lo: I know but everytime he comes back into your life and all of a sudden it’s like a party.

Lauren: Justin-Bobby is complicated.

Audrina: He is a bit complicated and I think that’s why I like him. He keeps me on my toes.

Lo: Justin-Bobby!

CUT TO: The Next Day - Crested Butte Colorado

Heidi and Spencer get off the plane and start the drive to Heidi’s parents’ house.

Heidi: Okay, time to meet the parents.

Spencer: Whoo-ee! Here we go, Crested Butte.

Heidi: I wasn’t kidding. People are like ‘I’m from a small town’. I’m like ‘You have no idea what a small town is’.

Spencer: Okay, we’re getting close. Home stretch, aren’t we?

Heidi: Oh I’m so nervous but so excited. I haven’t seen my family in a while.

Spencer: You’re nervous? This is your family, I haven’t met them, come on now.

Heidi: I know, I know. You okay? You up for the challenge?

CUT TO: Heidi’s Parents’ House

They pull in and are greeted by Heidi’s mom Darlene.

Darlene: Hi! Open the door!

Heidi: (Gets out) Hi!

Darlene: Hi! Hi!

Heidi: Hi! (Hugs her mom) Hi! Hi!

Spencer: (Gets out of the car) What’s goin’ on?

Heidi: (Hugs her sister Holly) Hi!

Holly: Hi!

Spencer: (Hugs Darlene) Hello, family. How are you?

Heidi: (Hugs her brother, Skye) Oh my god. Look how big you are.

Spencer: (Shakes the hand of Tim, Heidi’s step-father) Pleasure.

Tim: Spencer.

Spencer: nice to meet you finally.

Tim: Good to meet you.

Darlene: (As they head inside and puts her arm around Spencer) I’m so glad you’re here.

Spencer: I’m so glad to be here. I feel like I’m hallucinating. (Darlene laughs) It’s a trip, coming from the city to this.

CUT TO: LA – The road

Justin and Audrina are riding down the road on his motorcycle.

CUT TO: Malibu – Brody’s Barbecue

Everyone is there, having fun.

Audrina and Justin arrive at Brody’s barbecue and head in back, where everyone else is.

Frankie: Where’s married boy?

Brody: Pratt daddy? Pratt daddy?

Frankie: Pratt daddy? Did he flake again?

Brody: With his “wife” in Colorado.

Frankie: Oh.

Brody: I bet you right now, he’s riding horseback in the mountains… (They both laugh)

CUT TO: Heidi’s Parents’ House

Spencer walks outside to call Brody.

CUT TO: Brody’s Barbecue

Brody’s phone rings.

Brody: (Looks at it and sees it’s Spencer) Oh!

Frankie: Who’s calling you?

Brody: It’s Pratt.

Frankie: Oh…Is he riding on the…

Brody: Hello? (Cuts to Spencer)

Spencer: Brody Jenner.

Brody: What up? (Cuts to Brody) You having fun out in the, in the outback?

Spencer: It’s surreal. (Cuts to Spencer, looking for something in the car) She’s from a different world than we grew up in, Mr. Jenner, I’ll tell you that. (Gets something from the car and shuts the door)

Frankie: (Cuts to Brody and Frankie. Frankie grabs the phone) Rookie!

Brody: (Takes the phone back) We’re all here at the barbecue. It’s the most beautiful day out in Malibu right now. We’re chilling…some ladies…oh wait. You don’t care about that.

Spencer: (Cuts to Spencer) Yeah well…you guys can uh, pretend I’m there.

Brody: Well you’re blowing it. (Cuts to Brody) Tell Heidi’s dad and mom I say hello, okay? (Cut to Spencer) ‘Cause I guess they’re gonna they’re gonna be my best friend’s future (Cuts to Brody) mother and father-in-law so…

Spencer: (Cut to Spencer) All right I’ll talk to you later. Peace. (Hangs up the phone and heads back inside. It then cuts back to Brody’s barbecue)

Frankie: If he’s horseback riding we should go on the kayaks.

Brody: Yeah I’ll go on the kayak.

Lauren: (She arrives with Lo, throwing her arms around Brody and Frankie) Hi!

Brody & Frankie: Oh! 

Frankie: Oh yo! (Lauren hugs Frankie) La la in the house!

Lo: How are you guys?

Frankie: What’s up my lady? (Lo sits on his lap as Lauren puts an arm around Brody)

Lauren: Good to see you.

Brody: Good to see you too. I’m glad you guys came. We’re about to go in the kayaks.

Frankie: We’re going kayaking. We’re gonna get our fitness on. (Lauren sits next to Brody) You guys should get in the one next to us and we start racing.

Lo: I’m not going on a kayak.

Brody: You’re at a beach!

Lo: I’m too afraid!

Brody: What, you wanna boogie board?

Lauren: (As Audrina goes in the water with Justin) Yeah Audrina! (Shows Brody and Frankie in the water, in a kayak. A Wave hits them and they fall out. Lauren, who is in the water swimming, laughs at them as does Audrina and Justin, watching nearby. It then cuts to everyone playing football in the sand. Lauren, trying to get the ball from Lo, knocks Lo over. It then shows Lauren trying to get the ball again)

Lo: No, no, no!  (Lo screams and laughs)

Brody: (Groans) Ah…I broke my finger.

Guy: You all right?

Brody: Yeah I’m fine. I swear to God, I swear to God. It’s broken, trust me. It’s broken.

Guy: It is.

Brody: I know for a fact. Yeah.

CUT TO: Crested Butte

Heidi & Spencer are walking around, shopping, with her family.

Darlene: This has really nice stuff in here. Did you wanna go in anywhere?

Spencer: I gotta get a Crested Butte t-shirt ASAP.

Darlene: Let’s go get you a t-shirt. (They go into a store) I tried to buy you one before and Heidi was like ‘Don’t send him a t-shirt’.

Heidi: (Whispering to her step-dad as Spencer tries on shirts) What do you think about Spencer?

Tim: He’s…nice, he’s polite. As long as that’s the person you like, then…

Heidi: You know, I’ve always said I wanted, you know, a guy like my daddy so…

Tim: Well if you think he’s that way, that’s all that’s important to me.

Heidi: No, I love him a lot. We’ll take it slow though, you know? One day at time…

Tim: I’m gonna talk with him and see how… (Heidi laughs) and see how… you know, I haven’t had that (He does the ‘I’m watching you’ thing) talk with him.

Heidi: Well let me know after you have that talk.

Tim: Yeah we will. I look forward to it.

CUT TO: LA – Brody’s Barbecue

Brody: (Showing Audrina)…stem. It won’t move past…

Audrina: Oh my god. No, no let me see. (Grabs his hand) It’s not that bad.

Brody: I…I swear to God…look.

Audrina: Is that playing football?

Brody: This part won’t move right here. Actually I’m gonna go get this checked out. (He leaves to go to a doctor)

Audrina: Okay, bye!

CUT TO: Heidi’s Parent’s House

They are all outside, eating.

Heidi: Thanks Daddy.

Tim: You’re welcome sweetie.

Heidi: It’s so good.

Tim: Nice out here today too. Nice little breeze. Everybody good?

Heidi: We’re okay.

Tim: Can I get anything for ya?

Heidi: I’m good, thanks.

Tim: Spence? Let’s go out and have a little talk. What do you say buddy?

Spencer: Let’s do that.

Tim: Be back in a little bit, everyone.

Heidi: Be back baby.

Spencer: If I’m not back, come get me. (Heidi laughs. Tim & Spencer get up and walk away from everyone to have a chat about Spencer’s relationship with Heidi)

Tim: Well I’m glad you came out and uh, we get a chance to meet you and we can talk a little bit and I can get to know you a little better. You know, I just wanna kind of build that trust that I have with Heidi with you somehow.

Spencer: I mean, all I can tell you is my whole life I never, never thought I was gonna be the kinda person that was wanted to get so serious with a girl, ever, ‘cause I was like ‘Oh, I’ll get married when I’m fifty’ and it’s like the end of the day, I just love spending every second with Heidi so…

Tim: Yeah but Heidi has been the type of gal that would be very social and then she would get a boyfriend and she would lose all of her friends because she would kind of…they would become secondary to her and…I mean, now, she has you but if things were to go south, what would happen to her? I just hate to have her have all her eggs in one basket.

CUT TO: LA – Brody’s Barbecue

It is getting dark so a fire is going. Audrina looks very pissed off as she looks at Justin flirting with another girl.

Audrina: Look at him. He’s such a flirt. He’s been ignoring me all afternoon.

Lauren: Serious…that guy…should be jumping to date you. Right? (Brody comes back, with a huge cast on his arm)

Brody: I mean it’s way worse. I gotta get surgery.

Audrina: Brody come here. What?

Lauren: Oh my god!

Brody: (To Lauren) It’s all ‘cause if you. It’s all ‘cause of you. (Takes out X-rays)You won’t be able to… I’ll show you what happened.

Lauren: Oh my god, you got the X-ray!

Brody: Laugh it up guys. (Lauren & Audrina burst into laughter) Yeah keep on laughing. Can’t wait till it happens to you. (He looks at the X-ray. Lauren makes a sad face at him)

CUT TO: Heidi’s Parents’ House

Heidi is talking with her mom about Spencer and what happened with Lauren.

Darlene: I’m so happy that you’re in a loving, mature relationship. Spencer could be the guy that ends up being, you know, your husband…

Heidi: Not could be. That’s who I want to be.

Darlene: Well he’s made a huge effort, to come all the way out here to Colorado and get to know your family and…

Heidi: I can’t imagine my life without Spencer and like he’s my best friend, he’s my boyfriend, he’s my everything. Like I’ve never…

Darlene: No and that’s kinda my concern because I don’t think…

Heidi: No you don’t need to be concerned. This is my life and what I’m doing…

Darlene: My only concern for you is if, you know, that you guys end up having trouble, where are you gonna go?

Heidi: I have a lot of friends, a lot of Spencer’s friends and they have girlfriends and I hang out with a lot of them and…

Darlene: What happened between you and Lauren? It seemed like it was just all of a sudden…

Heidi: She was upset that I was spending with Spencer.

Darlene: That couldn’t be the only thing. There must be…

Heidi: Mom…

Darlene: It just seems to me that there’s a lot…

Heidi: Mom…

Darlene: I mean you guys aren’t getting together…

Heidi: I don’t wanna talk about this right now.

Darlene: It just seems like everything’s getting magnified and blown up.

Heidi: I just don’t think we’ll ever be friends again. And that’s it.

CUT TO: LA – That Night – Brody’s Barbecue

Lauren:  (To Brody) I feel really bad. I’m so sorry you got hurt.

Brody: I’m gonna tell him what I said to him…he goes, ‘Oh go for an angle…’ I go ‘Lauren laughed at me when I walked in…’

Lauren: It’s kind of funny though.

Brody: Listen, right now, if you were to start laughing at me and be like ‘Ha ha’, it’s kinda funny but when I first walked in, for you to just laugh at me like… (Imitates Lauren laughing) the whole time.

Lauren: Brody, look at me, look at me. If I was like ‘Ow I hurt my finger’ and I was like ‘I gotta go get my finger fixed’ and I came back with a full like arm cast to my elbow, it would be a little funny ‘cause it was unexpected.

Brody: You have to understand something.

Lauren: And the appearance…

Brody: I’m a little insecure about this! (Shows her his arm with the cast) Okay? (Lauren and Lo, who is also there, laugh) So please understand that. It’s not a big deal but it’s like…it’s kinda sucks when you just…

Lo: Can you guys just chill out please? (Lauren gets up and kisses Brody’s cast) Both of you, just…

Brody: See? That was nice.

CUT TO: Heidi’s Parents’ Restaurant

Spencer: I still can’t believe you painted this whole place.

Tim: Every stroke.

Darlene: I would love to come and help you guys. I’d love to paint your apartment.

Spencer: Heidi just re-painted our apartment. (Heidi laughs)

Darlene: (To Heidi’s sister) And I want to paint your apartment too.

Spencer: Heidi painted our apartment.

Heidi: A nice white…it’s a very beautiful color.

Darlene: So Spencer, I’m very impressed with your commitment, with this ring.

Spencer: I just got it ‘cause I wanted her to know I think of her as, I don’t know, wife, I live together, you know…

Darlene: Wait….I think before you make an ultimate commitment with someone, you need to go through some really rough times, you know, and bounce back from those and…

Spencer: I would marry her today so I mean it’s…she deserves the world so…I’m ready when she is.

CUT TO: Brody’s Barbecue

Brody: Where’s Whitney? She should have been here today.

Lauren: I was at work with her today and she was not feeling well all day so she went home.

Brody: Spencer’s not here.

Lauren: You guys okay?

Brody: Yeah, no we’re cool…it’s fine. (Lauren gives him a look) It’s fine, we’re good.

Lauren: I honestly…

Brody: He’s just always with Heidi, constantly.

Lauren: No I get that. Honestly, like the last whatever times I’ve seen you out, never Spence. I get it. I lost a best friend last year too.

CUT TO: Heidi’s Parents’ Restaurant

Spencer: Now I see why she hates on every other chocolate. This is the real deal.

Heidi: Excuse me, I’ll be right back. (Heidi gets up and leaves the table)

Spencer: We’ll be waiting. What an angel.

Darlene: So Spencer it seems to me that Lauren thought as Heidi being taken away from her. Why does there have to be an either or?

Spencer: ‘Cause it’s literally like a stubborn, immature little selfish little girl who’s like (in a bitchy way) ‘I want Heidi to myself! You don’t share her…duh, duh, duh’ It’s like literally like that. That’s what it’s about. (Heidi comes back)

Darlene: Heidi could have benefited from having her as a best friend and you as a boyfriend and there’s room for everybody.

Spencer: No it’s like…

Darlene:  Especially with a heart as big as Heidi’s.

Heidi: What are you talking about?

Darlene: As a best friend, you know, to be there for two years and to work as hard as you did…

Heidi: Why are we talking about Lauren?

CUT TO: Brody’s Barbecue

Lauren: My mom, she was like ‘I’m so glad you have Audrina in LA because I love Audrina so much and she’s been such a good roommate…’

Audrina: It’s hard to find good friends and Heidi…it’s just, she let Hollywood go to her head. It changed her. It turned her into a different person and she let a guy influence her, you know what I mean?

Lauren: I know but you have to like understand…

Audrina: I know guys do do that but…you just gotta stick with your friends.

Lauren: But only to like a point like Jason hated Heidi like he hated her. (Lauren is starting to cry) And like I always said like ‘I don’t care like I’ll always be friends with Heidi’ and it was…

Audrina: You don’t wanna let people in. It’s hard for you. And once you let those people in, you don’t let ‘em go. And when they f**k up, you’re like ‘Why would you do that to me?’ like ‘I gave you my feelings, like I did everything for you, you screwed me over’. It’s like…I wish Heidi was a better person but I mean you have Lo, you have Jill, you have all your amazing friends…

Lauren: I know, I know, I know, I know. 

Audrina: (Hugs Lauren) I love you to death.

Lauren: I know you do. 

Audrina: I would do anything for you, ever.

Lauren: It’s just hard, losing a best friend. (Lauren starts crying again so Audrina pats her on her back and hugs her)

Audrina: I love you.

Lauren: I love you too.

CUT TO: Heidi’s Parents’ House

Heidi: (To Spencer) All right, I’m gonna go to bed. (Kisses Spencer) (Points to her bedroom door) I’ll be in there if you need anything. (She gets up and covers him up) All right, I love you.

Spencer: I love you. (Heidi turns off a lamp and goes into her bedroom, shutting the door as Spencer shuts his eye to go to sleep)

CUT TO: Brody’s Barbecue

Lauren: (Gets up) I’m gonna go grab us a couple drinks.

Audrina: I haven’t seen Justin in forever. (She gets out her phone) I’m gonna try to call him. He probably won’t even answer. (Lauren goes into a room. She finds Audrina’s motorcycle helmet and brings it back over to Audrina. After Justin doesn’t answer, Audrina hangs up)

Lauren: Hey Justin left this on the couch.

Audrina: He put my helmet on the couch? (Lauren sits down) He just left me? He’s gone? Really?

Lauren: Yeah. I’m sorry.

Audrina: (In tears) Seriously, I’m done. (Lauren makes a sad face. Audrina hugs her)

Lauren: (Whispers) Sorry.

Audrina: I’m done, Lauren. (Lauren wipes Audrina’s eyes)

Lauren: I know sweetie.

Audrina: I can’t do it anymore.

Lauren: Look at me. Homeboy wore combat boots to the beach. (Audrina laughs and hugs Lauren) I know you don’t wanna call that your boyfriend, I know you don’t.

Audrina: (Picks up the helmet) Him leaving this on the table, not saying ‘bye, like I’m done. I’m over it.

Lauren: (Puts on the helmet) Hey bubba. Life’s tough. (Hits the helmet and laughs)

Audrina: Look at it.

Lauren & Audrina: Get a helmet. (They both laugh)

Audrina: I love you. (They high five and grab each others hands)

Lauren: I love you. (They hug and then get up to leave)
