Lauren: (V.O.) After what I went through with Heidi, it was fun having a roommate with no boy drama.

Lauren: Audrina. I just found…an adorable boy…with an accent…who’s leaving tomorrow. Jackpot.

Lauren: (V.O.) But a guy from Audrina’s past was about to creep back into her life.

Lauren: What did you do for four hours?

Audrina: We went back to Justin’s apartment.

Lauren: So you hooked up with him?

Audrina: We made out. (Lauren laughs)

Lauren: (V.O.) Heidi denied having anything to do with the rumors being spread about me.

Lauren: You know what you did!

Heidi: What did I do? What?

Lauren: Heidi, you’re brainwashed.

Lauren: (V.O.) And now Spencer had a surprise up his sleeve that none of us saw coming, including Heidi.

CUT TO:Restaurant

Heidi and Spencer are outside at a table.

Heidi: Oh…what a long night. Geez…I don’t think anything crazy’s ever happened to me. They were screaming at me…

Spencer: ‘You’re pathetic!’ I heard.

Heidi: Like what did I do? I have no idea what you’re even talking about.

Spencer: You’re brainwashed, that’s what.

Heidi: Ooh…master, what should I order for lunch? (He pretends to think about it and she laughs) No…I just don’t even know what her problem is. And Audrina…oh my god. This is between me and Lauren. You can go back to whatever you were doing, little lady. Lauren…I think she was in a really bad relationship so I think she thinks I’m the same way as her, you know like you’re choosing the wrong guy and like I’m going through the same thing and it’s not, you know? Can’t even compare. We still have to get all this stuff for the apartment and start really moving in. Maybe I’ll pick out like some paint colors, for the walls.

Spencer: Whatever.

Heidi: Like a light yellow.

Spencer: Light yellow? (He makes a buzzer sound, as if to say ‘Hell no’)

CUT TO:Opening Credits

CUT TO:Hillside Villas

Lauren: So who is this guy Justin?

Audrina: (Getting ready for a date with Justin) We liked each other right when we first met. I was working at Quixote Studios. But I was actually dating someone else and he was calling me. When I called him, he was with someone else. And then he wasn’t and then I wasn’t and we started hanging out.

Lauren: So why’d you stop dating?

Audrina: ‘Cause I went to Vegas with him and they were partying and then…they wanted to go…

Lauren: Wait a minute.

Audrina: …To that strip club…

Lauren: That was the same Justin?

Audrina: Yeah so…

Lauren: He abandoned you in Vegas?

Audrina: I know what you’re thinking.

Lauren: I think there’s a reason you stopped seeing him. And getting back into it, you’re gonna have the same reason to stop seeing him again.

Audrina: It’s not like I’m gonna marry the guy. I’m just going on a date.

Lauren: Keeping my opinions to myself. They just get me in trouble.

Audrina: Well afterwards we’re going to 40 deuce. I’m going with you and Lo.

Lauren: It’ll be fine. You’ll have fun. You’ll come out with the girls and have even more fun.

CUT TO:Heidi & Spencer’s Apartment

Heidi enters the apartment as Spencer is making something in the blender.

Heidi: Honey, I’m home.

Spencer: Oh my favorite part of the day.

Heidi: (Shuts the door) Oh my god. (Referring to the paint on the wall. It says ‘Hollywood’ on it in graffiti style and money signs below it) What is this?

Spencer: It’s a protein shake.

Heidi: No, no, no. (Points at the walls) What is this?

Spencer: You said we needed to get some art. I got us some art.

Heidi: Did you design this?

Spencer: I had a little part to do with it.

Heidi: The money signs?

Spencer: That was my detail.

Heidi: But…I thought you were gonna pick out like paint colors with me and we’re gonna put up like paintings and that kind of thing.

Spencer: We can still do that. We have how many walls in this place.

Heidi: Yeah but it’s a whole different vibe now. It’s not even like…a girlie…it’s not anything. I don’t know. (Heidi looks at it, obviously not liking what Spencer did without asking or telling her)

Spencer: What’s wrong? (She gives a ‘look’ and he walks over to her) It’s a gift.

Heidi: It’s a great gift. Is it a gift for yourself? (He kisses her)

Spencer: That’s mean.

Heidi: How is that mean?

Spencer: A gift for myself? This is our living room.

Heidi: I guess.

Spencer: Maybe I can cheer you up with some good news.

Heidi: Uh, you have white paint coming tomorrow?

Spencer: This weekend, we’re going on a little romantic getaway to Santa Barbara to my beach house. I got a lot of surprises planned for Santa Barbara.

CUT TO:Cobras & Matadors

Audrina goes in to have dinner with her ex, Justin. He smiles when he sees her.

Audrina: (She hugs him) How are you?

Justin: How are you doing?

Audrina: Good.

Justin: You look cute.

Audrina: So do you.

Justin: Sit down. Take a seat. (They sit down at the table. They do cheers with their drinks. He looks at the menu) So I don’t get what half this stuff is. Tell me one thing that you know and then let’s get it.

Audrina: Okay. (She looks at the menu)

CUT TO:Hillside Villas

Lauren is hanging out with Lo, waiting for Audrina to come back.

Lauren: Audrina’s been gone for like two and half-hours. And she was…she’s like ‘I’ll only be gone an hour’.

Lo: Didn’t they date, like a while ago or something? (Lauren nods) Ah…rekindled flame. (Lauren laughs)

Lauren: I didn’t think he was very nice to her, though.

Lo: What do you mean?

Lauren: Stories I’ve heard.

Lo: What did he do?

Lauren: He like abandoned her in Vegas.

Lo: (Laughs) Oh my gosh.

Lauren: You know like there’s that one person you always go back to. You’ll date other people but like you kinda wanna run into him when you’re out.

Lo: Yeah well…

Lauren: Like you’re seeing someone else…

Lo: It’s like somebody you’ll always have a crush on.

Lauren: Exactly. He’s kinda that for her.

Lo: Do you think they’re gonna be boyfriend/girlfriend?

Lauren: (She shrugs) Who knows? But I mean I’m all about second chances. I’ve done second chances.

Lo: Yeah. Do you think people can really change, though?

Lauren: I think that everyone can change if the right person comes along. And I think that every girl wants to be the right person.

Lo: Yeah.

Lauren: Every girl wants to be the girl that can change that guy.

Lo: But why do you have to have a guy that you have to change? Don’t you want to meet somebody that’s good already?

Lauren: That’s too easy.

CUT TO:Cobras & Matadors

Justin: Look at you, going this thing. I like that.

Audrina: Working out?

Justin: No you look hot. I like how you’re cutting pieces and I’m eating ‘em.

Audrina: You haven’t seen the new apartment, have you?

Justin: Nuh-uh. I haven’t. You’re with uh, Lauren, right?

Audrina: Yeah.

Justin: How you like it?

Audrina: It’s fun. (He wipes her cheek)

Justin: See how different I am now?

Audrina: You are different.

Justin: See?

Audrina: You’re better. You’re not so bad. (They laugh)

CUT TO:Hillside Villas

Lo: So what’s this guy’s name? Justin?

Lauren: His name’s Justin…

Lo: Yeah.

Lauren: But he like wants to change it to Bobby.

Lo: Why?

Lauren: People keep calling him Justin-Bobby. (They laugh)

Lo: (Audrina and Justin come in) We have to be nicer. (Lauren tells her to be quiet) Be nice, be nice.

Lauren: Hi.

Audrina: Hi.

Lo: Audrina’s home!

Audrina: (Shuts the door) How are you guys? Lo, this is Justin. Justin, Lo.

Lo: Hi!

Justin: (Waves) Hi.

Lauren: Justin, I think I’ve met you before.

Justin: No you did, hi. How’s it going?

Audrina: Come here.

Justin: What?

Lo: It’s nice to meet you.

Justin: Nice to meet you too.

Lo: How was dinner?

Lauren: (Referring to cat Justin is holding) We took the sweater off of him.

Justin: It was good. We went to uh…(To Audrina who is in the room again) what was it called?

Audrina: Cobra & Matadors.

Justin: Yeah.

Audrina: We couldn’t really understand the menu but it was good food.

Lo: Yeah? So Justin. I heard you are trying to change your name to Bobby?

Justin: Well my friends call me Bobby.

Lo: Oh. Can I call you…?

Lauren: Oh. Everyone was confused on what you were being called. I was like ‘Was it Justin or was it Bobby?’

 Justin: Well like all my friends call me Bobby. It’s just…

Lauren: Oh…

Lo: So you don’t want us to call you Justin-Bobby?

Justin: You can call me whatever you want.

Lo: I kinda like Justin-Bobby.

Justin: (Gets up) Whatever. (To Audrina) Let’s see your room.

Lauren: Do you think we hurt his feelings?

Lo: I don’t know. He didn’t like us very much. (They come back in the room)

Audrina: Well we’re gonna go to 40 deuce.

Lauren: You’re going right now?

Audrina: Yeah.

Lauren: Oh.

Lo: I don’t know.

Audrina: I mean…

Lo: Are you gonna go? You have seats, don’t you?

Lauren: I wasn’t planning on going but you can go.

Audrina: Do you wanna come? (Lauren shakes her head) Okay. Bye.

Lo: Have fun, lovebirds.

Audrina: Bye. It was good seeing you.

Lo: Bobby, it was really nice to meet you.

Justin: Bye.

Audrina: Bye Lo.

Lo: Bye, drive safely. (Audrina & Justin leave)

Lauren: That was really weird. She invited me and we had two tickets to go.

Lo: I think that Justin-Bobby took your ticket.

Lauren: (They laugh) You think?

Lo: Yeah.

CUT TO:The Next Day – Hillside Villas

Lauren is making breakfast when Audrina comes in.

Audrina: Hi.

Lauren: How was your night?

Audrina: it was fun. Justin…I like him. I mean, basically he wants to start over. And he’s definitely…he’s changed since like two years ago. So I’m gonna give him a chance and we’re gonna see what happens.

Lauren: A chance to like be your boyfriend?

Audrina: Well not boyfriend. Just seeing you know? Justin…he doesn’t open up very easily but he wants to like get to know you too ‘cause you’re like my best friend and roommate. So we should all go out together.

Lauren: Do you want salsa with your eggs?

Audrina: Yeah. (Lauren’s cat jumps down and scares Audrina so they laugh) You’ll like him. Like he’s different. (Getting stuff to eat the eggs with) And I know I used to vent to you about what he used to do.

Lauren: All I know about him is you…yeah you venting. So I don’t know any good things about him…

Audrina: Well that was like a long time ago and when you and Heidi met him and I didn’t really know you that well but I know Heidi didn’t like him either from off the bat. I mean, he’s just, he seems different. We’ll see you know? I wonder if he has any cute friends, for you.

Lauren: Remember Audrina, you and I have very different tastes.

Audrina: Different tastes, I know. (She laughs)

Lauren: Different but the same.

Audrina: Always a bad boy.

CUT TO:Car

Spencer and Brody are driving so Spencer can get a ring for Heidi.

Spencer: This is uh, a big deal in my life. I definitely want you to be my best man so…

Brody: Best man? For what?

Spencer: You know, I’m probably gonna pop the question tomorrow at my beach house.

Brody: What?

Spencer: Dude…

Brody: You’re talking about getting married? You can’t even say that with a straight face that little smirk.

Spencer: No…I mean it’s not…’cause it’s not married. It’s getting engaged. It’s the first step to marriage.

Brody: Homie…you’ve been dating Heidi for one year. Why don’t you wait at least three or four or five?

Spencer: I mean it’s been the best year of my entire life.

Brody: Just because you all of a sudden get in a relationship where it’s great, doesn’t mean you need to get married.

Spencer: Not great. Flawless and perfect.

Brody: Okay. But you don’t wanna…

Spencer: I can totally…

Brody: Get her hopes up.

Spencer: It’s not about hopes. I would marry her in f***ing Vegas right now. Is that…you know a rule…

Brody: You don’t have to be married right now. You’re twenty-three years old.

Spencer: Turning twenty-four bud.

Brody: Oh but it’s like homie…get married at like thirty, thirty-five. It’s like wait. You gotta live your youth. You wanna really waste your whole youth?

Spencer: Bu the way, did you bring your credit card? I think I’m gonna need to borrow like a $100,000.

Brody: You’re not using my credit card. This is your ring. I’m not stupid enough to get married at twenty-three, you are.

CUT TO:Epic Records

Audrina is talking with Chiara.

Audrina: So what have you been up to?

Chiara: Nothing, just work and play.

Audrina: I don’t know if I ever told you about this guy named Justin.

Chiara: You might’ve…I think you’ve mentioned him…

Audrina: I think I have.

Chiara: To me in passing but not…

Audrina: Yeah.

Chiara: Why? What’s going on?

Audrina: Well I’ve known him for two years and it’s always been off and on. I don’t know what we are. He wants to like start over and like take things slow and I…I had to…like Lauren doesn’t like him.

Chiara: Mm-hmm.

Audrina: Because she knows of like you know things in the past that have happened.

Chiara: Right, right.

Audrina: And she doesn’t want me to get hurt. She’s just being a good friend. But then with me, like I…I have to learn the hard way. And I have to do things myself. I can’t listen to people, listen to their caution. I just do it.

Chiara: Are you looking to be serious with him now or are you like…?

Audrina: Honestly? I mean I’ve been single for like three of four years. I want a boyfriend. This is like hard for me.

CUT TO:Ice

Spencer and Brody go in so Spencer can get a ring for Heidi.

Brody: Looks like it’s got a lot of purses.

Spencer: Yeah. A lot of high-end things here.

Girl: Hello.

Spencer: Hello.

Girl: How are you?

Spencer: Excellent.

Girl: Hi how are you?

Girl: (To Brody) Hi.

Spencer: Excellent, how about yourself?

Brody: Good how are you doing?

Girl: (To Spencer) Good.

Spencer: (Goes up to the counter) Looking for some bling. Where’s the most high-end?

Girl: Um, this section right here.

Spencer: What do you…? What do you think is the best stuff that you got?

Girl: Um…I would say this line here. It’s all 18-caret gold, white gold, yellow gold. Um…stones here…(She takes out one with a purple stone)

Spencer: Wow…There we go. (She hands him the ring. Brody makes a hallelujah sound. Spencer puts the ring on his pinky)

Brody: It could be your little pinky ring.

Spencer: J.Lo, Kobe Bryant ring right there. Heidi better not lose this. (He takes it off. Brody laughs) (Pretending to be Heidi) My ring!

Brody: (Pretending to be Heidi) I don’t have my ring! (They laugh)

Spencer: Get a little tracking device on this, little GPS, put it in there. Sold. Wow. Done.

Girl: Great.

Spencer: Ready to get engaged.

Girl: Aw…That’s so sweet. (He pays for it and signs the receipt) Thanks.

Spencer: Actually you know what? (He rips up the receipt and the girl laughs) No returning this. Take that. It is done. Did it.

Girl: All right.

Spencer: You’re a great helper.

Girl: All right. Bye.

Spencer: Take it easy. (Spencer and Brody leave)

Brody: You have officially lost your mind.

CUT TO:Spencer’s Car

Spencer and Heidi are driving to Santa Barbara

Spencer: I am so excited about getting out of LA and Hollywood for the weekend.

Heidi: Oh…What’s the surprise? (He doesn’t say) Okay. (It shows the car driving on the road near the beach)

CUT TO:Santa Barbara – Spencer’s Beach House

He pulls into the parking space in front of the beach house. He opens the door, grabbing Heidi’s bag and they go inside. They shut the door.

CUT TO:Laguna Beach

Lauren is in Laguna. She drives to her parents’ house to talk to her mom. She pulls in, parks, gets out of her car, locks it and goes inside.

Lauren: Hey Mom. I’m home.

Kathy: (Hugs Lauren) How are ya?

Lauren: Good. (Lauren sits down at the counter as her mom makes food)

Kathy: So want something to drink?

Lauren: Okay.

Kathy: Here you go. (Hands Lauren a water. She starts cutting tomatoes) I’m cutting all the middles out for you, right?

Lauren: I know. Thanks Mommy. You’re the best.

Kathy: I know ‘cause I’m your mom and that’s what I do. So why did you head down here today? Any special reason? You know, you just…

Lauren: I wanted to get out of LA for a day or two.

Kathy: Oh…

Lauren: It gets a little overwhelming.

Kathy: How’s um, Audrina?

Lauren: Audrina has…is started dating someone named Justin. Who she’s like on and off dated for two years and dating again now.

Kathy: Oh. You like him? (Lauren shrugs) I was wondering how you were holding up with your rough series of events. I was worried it was gonna harden you a little bit on life and…

Lauren: I mean people…a lot of times when you go into Hollywood, it brings out a side of people that isn’t necessarily good.

Kathy: But you have to realize it’s just in Hollywood, right? Do you realize that? LA is just a totally different place than the rest of the world.

Lauren: But the people that you know, were not nice to me in LA and betrayed my trust in LA, they didn’t…they’re not from LA.

 Kathy: Yeah but I think they caught up in LA.

CUT TO:Santa Barbara

Heidi & Spencer are lying by the beach.

Spencer: Heidi, in all seriousness…you’re pretty much the most amazing human I’ve ever met in my whole life. And it’s so real and every single day I’m with you, I really am happier every day and I…it’s so real that every time I wake up you next to me, it’s like ‘Ah! You’re there! Yay!’ (Heidi laughs) ‘You’re still there’. I want to spend the rest of my life with you so I got this for you. (Shows her the ring)

Heidi: I love you.

Spencer: I love you more. I really do.

Heidi: (Shakes her head) I don’t think so.

Spencer: I don’t even know what hand the ring goes on so…you can…(She puts it on) It’s a little big I’m sure because nobody has cutest hands as you. (She kisses him)

Heidi: I love you more than anything. When people told me ‘don’t be with him’ I was just like ‘You obviously don’t know him because he’s the most amazing guy I’ve ever met in my life’ And I never had a relationship like this. It’s so fun and it’s so everything and you’re always there and I know for my whole life, that you’ll always be there and I know that you’re the most loyal, amazing…(Starting to cry) loving, everything person and I love you more than anything in the whole world.

CUT TO:Laguna Beach

Kathy: I just want you to know that people are…most people are good.

Lauren: I know. I mean I know there’s a difference between like good people who do bad things and bad people who do bad things.

Kathy: I don’t want you to have trust issues because I just think that…

Lauren: I’m going to. I had like the three most important people in my life…

Kathy: I know.

Lauren: In the last year…

Kathy: That’s why I’m worried about you. You have a great internship and you’ve got some good friends and you’re going to school and I don’t want you caught up in all that drama and…you know if you start focusing on that again, it’s gonna take you off track. I really want you to stay focused and do your thing and you’re gonna be so great. (Lauren walks outside onto the deck, looking down on all of Laguna.)

CUT TO:Road

Audrina is on a motorcycle with Justin.

CUT TO:Santa Barbara

Heidi is admiring her ring while Spencer holds her. They then leave the beach, holding hands.

CUT TO:Laguna Beach

Lauren stands there a few more moments and then goes inside. It cuts to her getting in her car and leaving. It then shows LA as the sun is setting.
