Spencer: I’m on Team Heidi.

Lauren: (V.O.) Heidi’s boyfriend Spencer broke her heart not once…

Spencer: How do you not like you? That’s what I wanna know.

Audrina: I don’t know.

Spencer: I’ll be your team member.

Audrina: Thank you.

Lauren: (V.O.) But twice.

Kristen: Spencer walked in with two blonde bimbos.

Spencer: Let’s go Team Playmates!

Lauren: (V.O.) We all knew he was shady. And it looked like Heidi did too.

Lauren: Just…

Heidi: I’m over you.

Lauren: You have to…

Heidi: Just hang up. I’m over you. It’s fine. I’m over you.

Lauren: (V.O.) But she took him back anyway.

Spencer: Hello beautiful.

Heidi: Hi.

Lauren: (V.O.) Even though everyone knew what kind of guy he was, as her best friend, I was the only one who would tell her she was making a mistake.

CUT TO: Coffee Shop

Heidi and Lauren get coffee and then sit down to talk about Heidi & Spencer.

Lauren: Are you guys completely fine again? Or are you…? I haven’t even talked to you in like two days about it.

Heidi: I decided to give Spencer another chance.

Lauren: I see so many qualities that Jason had in him like just these little like mind tricks that he plays you and it’s so frustrating ‘cause like I think that because you watched me go through all that you wouldn’t do it.

Heidi: It’s just it’s different.

Lauren: It’s not different. He’s not a good person. I’m telling you that ‘cause I’m your friend.

Heidi: Well I’m just gonna have fun and see what happens.

Lauren: Really I feel like I can’t even talk to you like you’re my best friend right now because you’re not gonna listen to me and you’re gonna get mad at me and I hate like thinking like ‘Is she gonna get mad at me if I tell her the truth about this guy? Like is it worth it?’

Heidi: But it’s like who’s to say he can’t change?

Lauren: I hope he changes. That would be like ideal for me. I want…

Heidi: So can’t I give him that chance? Well it’s like is it gonna be this huge elephant in the room? Are we not gonna be able to like be like close? Are we not gonna be able to talk?

Lauren: We’re still gonna be friends. It’s understandable. You know I think you really shouldn’t be with him. I just…I don’t wanna talk about him anymore. I don’t wanna hear about him. And I just…I don’t…I’m never gonna hang out with him so…

Heidi: You know if it’s like if it’s gonna come between us and you’re gonna like be mad at me and not able to be around me, then it’s like…

Lauren: You know what? I’ve put in my two cents and you know how I feel. I’m gonna be there for you when he screws you over…’cause he will.

Heidi: can we leave soon?

Lauren: Yeah we’ll leave right now. (They get up)

CUT TO: Opening Credits

CUT TO: Breadbar

Heidi walks to a table where Spencer is waiting for her. He whistles as she approaches him.

Heidi: Hi.

Spencer: Hello darling.

Heidi: Are those for me?

Spencer: Yes they’re for you. (They both get up. He hands her the roses and kisses her)

Heidi: Thank you.

Spencer: There you go sweetheart.

Heidi: (Smells them as she sits down) They’re beautiful. (She puts them next to her) Look at it. It looks like a rose garden.

Spencer: I broke the piggy bank for those so you better appreciate it. (She laughs)

Heidi: Really? Thank you.

Spencer: How are you?

Heidi: A little stressed. This whole thing with Lauren’s really hard.

Spencer: God…I wish I hadn’t been such a jerk to start out with and made your life easier.

Heidi: She loved you at first.

Spencer: I know.

Heidi: It’s like I don’t want it to be awkward when I come home, you know what I mean? I don’t want it to be like ‘Hey where are you going?’ And then I can’t be like ‘Oh I’m going to Spencer’s’. Like I never want to go through with her again what we went through with Jason. It was hard. We were like hardly friends, you know?

Spencer: It’s the exact same situation reversed is what’s happening right now.

Heidi: You would never treat me like Jason, you know what I mean? Like it was different.

Spencer: Does she know how much I love you?

Heidi: Nobody does.

Spencer: I don’t think people get it. It’s like Heidi’s my number one. (Holds up two fingers) That’s two but one here. (Shows it again as one going up before the other. Heidi shakes her head and rolls her eyes) Oh what can I do to get Lauren to like me again?

Heidi: You just have to prove yourself.

Spencer: To Lauren?

Heidi: To everybody.

Spencer: I gotta prove myself to everybody? Good luck. (She laughs) So are we having a slumber party?

Heidi: Yes we are. (He smiles and points his finger at her)

CUT TO: Hillside Villas

Lauren is on the couch when Heidi comes in with the roses.

Heidi: Lauren.

Lauren: Yeah?

Heidi: Look Spencer got you some flowers. (Puts them on the couch next to Lauren)

Lauren: That’s really nice of him. Is he gonna give ‘em to Audrina tomorrow?

Heidi: No they’re just for you.

Lauren: Wow. (Lauren makes some noises at her cat. Heidi puts the flowers on a table as Lauren holds her cat) I got a bunch of good turkey.

Heidi: Yum. (Heidi opens the fridge and looks in it. Lauren lets her cat out of her lap. It cuts to Heidi in her room, packing stuff to spend the night at Spencer’s. She goes back to where Lauren is with her bag) All right my darling. I am leaving. Staying away tonight.

Lauren: Oh you’re not staying here?

Heidi: No I’m not staying here.

Lauren: Good night.

Heidi: Good night. Love you.

Lauren: Love you. (Heidi opens the door and leaves. Lauren’s phone rings. She answers it and it turns out to be Audrina) Hello?

Audrina: Hi, you wanna come eat with me? I have a bunch of food. We can make lasagna and salad.

Lauren: Sold. (It cuts to Lauren walking down to Audrina’s apartment. It cuts to Audrina’s apartment. Lauren rings the doorbell and Audrina lets her in.)

Audrina: Hello.

Lauren: Hi how are you?

Audrina: Good. (They hug)

Lauren: Good to see you. (Cuts to them in Audrina’s kitchen. Audrina gets the food out of her fridge)

Audrina: Me and my mom cooked this today. All we have to do is really just warm it up.

Lauren: Oh well that’s easy.

Audrina: So has Heidi made her mind up about um, Spencer?

Lauren: Yeah he gets another chance.

Audrina: Really? Oh my god.

Lauren: I tried. I tried to tell her.

Audrina: So did I. I told her the truth about everything.

Lauren: Tell me like what did he say to you when he asked you to come meet him for ice cream?

Audrina: I had a feeling like he was just trying to get back at her by using me but it didn’t happen.

Lauren: I’m sorry I just can never see you with Spence.

Audrina: Oh god! Me either.

Lauren: Are we eating at the table?

Audrina: Yeah.

Lauren: Look at us adults. (Cuts to them eating at the table) Oh my god. She comes in tonight. First of all, she even told him that I don’t like him. And I guess he was like really bothered by it ‘cause he went out and bought me a dozen long stemmed roses.

Audrina: What?

Lauren: I feel like Spencer’s gonna be putting ideas in her head. Like ‘Oh Lauren’s just saying this…’

Audrina: That’s what it already seems. Remember he told her ‘Oh Audrina and Lauren are just trying to like get you against me’.  That’s how it’s gonna turn and he’s gonna hurt her like she’s already in, it seems like, over her head.

Lauren: I know, she is.

Audrina: In love with him.

Lauren: It’s just so much easier to get out before you’re like so…

Audrina: Before you’re in too deep.

Lauren: I just feel like it’s gonna be really bad.

CUT TO: The Next Day – Teen Vogue Offices

Lauren pulls in the parking lot.

CUT TO: The room Whitney and Lauren are in. They are talking about Lauren’s situation with Heidi.

Whitney: Have you um, resolved things with Heidi?

Lauren: (Shakes her head) She never sleeps at our house and she’s like never home.

Whitney: It’s one thing to have a boyfriend. It’s another thing to just abandon your whole life, you know what I’m saying?

Lauren: I feel bad ‘cause I did put her in that situation when it was like she knows I don’t like him. Even she said. She’s like ‘I feel like we’re not gonna be fine…

Whitney: Until they break up.

Lauren: ‘Like as long as me and Spencer are together’. And I was like ‘Well that’s your decision. You’re the one who’s changing your behavior’.

Whitney: Yeah.

Lauren: ‘I’m not changing anything’.

Whitney: Yeah because I think that you’ve probably got to the point where all you want is just your best friend. (Lauren nods)

CUT TO: The Street

Heidi and Spencer are walking.

Heidi: I can be the biggest nerd ever.

Spencer: You are the biggest nerd ever.

Heidi: Guess what?

Spencer: Guess what, what?

Heidi: I have really fun plans for us this weekend.

Spencer: (Twirls her around) What are your plans for us this weekend?

Heidi: Um, come to the club with me and Lauren tonight.

Spencer: No I don’t wanna go to the club anymore.

Heidi: It’s really means a lot to me if you come.

Spencer: All the club does is create conflict. ‘Spencer was just talking to a girl’. That’s what Lauren’s gonna say to you if I go to the club. ‘I saw him, in the bathroom’.

Heidi: No she’s not. She’s not gonna care.

Spencer: Oh really? She’s all of a sudden not care about us?

Heidi: She’s one of my friends and I need to spend a little more girl time.

Spencer: Um, why don’t you go without me? I really don’t like the girl, Heidi.

Heidi: Be nice, Spencer.

Spencer: She’s not nice to me.

Heidi: She’s gonna try, I think. You know, I told her that I wanna spend more time with her too. I wanna make sure that I don’t cut out my friends in my life. (He makes scissors at her with his fingers)

CUT TO: Area Nightclub

Heidi, Lauren and Jen are outside.

Lauren: I love this dress on you. (Heidi hugs Jen) Your boobies look pretty. (Hugs Heidi)

Heidi: Thank you. You look pretty. It’s time to like grow up and just be like ‘You know what? I think it’s just been a lot of miscommunication’.

Lauren: Well it’s not a miscommunication but…

Heidi: I’m sick of fighting with people. Let’s have some fun. (Cuts to inside Area. Lauren sees Brody and gives him a hug)

Spencer: (To Heidi) Oh yeah. We’re partying tonight, sweetheart.

Lauren: (Her and Heidi are sitting down) What did you just say?

Heidi: Do my boobs look big? Just kidding. Don’t answer that. But do they?

Lauren: Yeah they do.

Heidi: Yeah! (It shows Audrina is there, sitting with her friend Clint. It shows Lauren and Heidi dancing.)

Audrina: Oh, where’s Heidi at? Do you know the guy that she’s seeing, Spencer?

Clint: Well I don’t…

Audrina: He’s right there, totally all over another girl. (Shows Spencer with a girl who is not Heidi)

Dina: (To Spencer) Wanna go dance? Dina does. (Shows Lauren and Heidi again then goes back to Audrina)

Audrina: I wish Heidi was here to see it. Because she won’t believe me and Lauren.  (It shows Spencer hug Dina)

Dina: (Rubs his back) Thank you. (Lauren sits with Audrina)

Audrina: Lauren come here. Look at Spencer. (Shows Spencer and Dina again)

Spencer: Lick my neck and I’ll ****. Trust me.

Lauren: (To Audrina) I’m getting Heidi out of here. Heidi let’s go.

Dina: (To Spencer) You’re not leaving are you? What’s going on? (Cuts to Lauren and Brody)

Brody: Listen, what are you defending Heidi from? Heidi loves Spencer.

Lauren: Brody, I saw what he was doing.

Brody: Heidi loves…like you’re not defending her…(Spencer drags Lauren away so he can talk to her)

Lauren: What?

Spencer: We’re so making peace, by the way. You can hate me, that’s fine.

Lauren: I don’t hate you.

Spencer: No, you do.

Lauren: I just told my friend not to date you.

Spencer: It’s fine if you don’t like me and don’t want me to date her. But let’s not make it difficult for you to be best friends with…

Lauren: I haven’t done anything to make it…

Spencer: Comments like this? ‘I don’t want to be in a room with Spencer when you’re there’.

Lauren: I didn’t say that. I said, ‘I don’t really wanna sit back and watch Spencer use you’. That’s what I said. Every time I see you at a club, you’re hitting on other girls.

Spencer: Relax. Take a deep breath. Heidi knows everything. Heidi gets me and she knows who I am. We understand each other. That’s fine. You may not get that. Heidi gets everything about me. That’s fine.

Lauren: Look at me. Good for you and Heidi. Nothing against you. I don’t dislike you as a person.

Spencer: And I don’t care if you do. That’s what I’m saying. But I’m just saying, for her friendship…

Lauren: Oh my god. Me and Heidi’s friendship is fine. You don’t need to be concerned about me and Heidi’s friendship.

Spencer: But I am concerned about it.

Lauren: Really? Really? Because me and Heidi have been friends for a really long time.

Spencer: Shh…whoa. No it’s like…

Lauren: (walking away from him and back to her friends) I don’t wanna talk to you, I don’t wanna talk to you.

Jen: Are you ok?

Lauren: Spencer’s just yelling at me.

Spencer: (To Brody) I’m not going five feet from that girl for the rest of my life. (It cuts to outside. Lauren is getting in a cab and going home. It cuts to inside Area. Heidi is comforting Spencer.)

CUT TO: The Next Day – Brody’s Condo

Brody opens the door. It is Lauren. She hugs him.

Lauren: How are you?

Brody: Good how are you?

Lauren: Good.

Brody: Have a seat, beautiful. (She sits in a chair while he takes a seat on the couch) So what is all this drama going on right now?

Lauren: Heidi went into this and everyone told her from the beginning. They were like ‘You know what? If you’re getting involved with Spencer, he’s a cool guy, he’s a lot of fun but don’t get into something serious with him’.

Brody: Why were people saying this?

Lauren: Because when they’re hooking up, he goes the next day and takes Audrina out to lunch and gives her the same flowers that he gave to Heidi the night before. (Brody laughs) And he hits on every girl.

Brody: It’s like, but listen. Of course it was a little bit wrong but maybe Spencer feels threatened by you because you’re going to Heidi and saying, ‘Stay away from Spencer. He’s shady, he’s shady’.

Lauren: You know what? Maybe that wasn’t Heidi’s…No that wasn’t Heidi’s place to go tell him that. I would never, ever choose a guy over a friend.

Brody: Heidi seems happy, that’s all you should care about.

Lauren: I watched my best friend cry because of what your best friend did to her.

Brody: Listen but listen. Have you ever thought like maybe she really, really likes Spencer?

Lauren: If I was not getting along with my best friend, I wouldn’t be happy.

CUT TO: Brody’s Condo – Later that day

Brody, while on his laptop, is telling Spencer what Lauren said earlier.

Spencer: So what’s up, player?

Brody: So Lauren came over earlier. She’s all upset about Heidi and her not being friends and I felt bad ‘cause she was crying.

Spencer: She needs to stop worrying about other people’s lives. Like I get it.

Brody: I told her that.

Spencer: You’re best friends. You guys are like sisters, da, da, da. It’s like okay. You don’t like Spencer that’s fine. Stop letting it come between our friendship. She goes around…

Brody: She’s upset with…

Spencer: It’s like get over it.

Brody: I know. I asked her ‘Well what did Spencer do that is so…?’ And she brought up the Audrina thing with the rose…

Spencer: Oh I got Heidi a dozen roses and I gave them to Heidi, right? And then Heidi turned right around and gave ‘em to Lauren. (They laugh) So Lauren thinks I got her a dozen roses. It’s like ‘Yeah right. I’m not spending a dollar on you’.

CUT TO: Bolthouse Offices

Heidi is at her desk when her phone rings. She answers and it is Spencer.

Heidi: Hello my darling. How are you?

Spencer: Uh, I’ve been better like when I’m with you and not hearing about your good friend Lauren.

Heidi: Why, what happened?

Spencer: She said that she knows that you’re not happy anymore. (Heidi gets a look of shock on her face) Well Brody’s like ‘Well she’s always happy with Spencer so I guess she’s only not happy when she’s with you or whatever’.

Heidi: I’m like the happiest I’ve ever been in my entire life.

Spencer: She’s the only one who doesn’t know that ‘cause she’s too busy being negative and I’m really like fed up. I don’t see how you guys can even live together anymore ‘cause I’m not allowed to be in the same room as her. It’s just like…

Heidi: I just feel like I’ve been put in the worst situation possible. You know, she’s my best friend and now it’s so weird and it’s just getting weirder and this whole thing is just so, so, so incredibly out of control. I just want everything to be normal. I just want it to be back when everything was fine with everyone.

CUT TO: FIDM

Lauren is in class. The professor is talking but Lauren doesn’t look like she’s listening. She looks upset over what is going on between her and Heidi.

CUT TO: Lauren’s Car

She is driving home.

CUT TO: That Night – Hillside Villas

Heidi is in the kitchen. She goes into the fridge when Lauren comes in.

Heidi: Hello. How was school?

Lauren: (Puts down her bags) Uh, long. (Lauren goes in the fridge)

Heidi: Did you have a conversation with Brody today?

Lauren: I did. (Takes something out and closes the fridge)

Heidi: Do you think I’m unhappy? (Lauren opens a bag) Brody said that you were saying that like I’m unhappy and you know me.

Lauren: No. He said ‘I think Heidi’s really happy right now’ and I said that I wouldn’t be really happy if I hadn’t like I barely talked to my best friend in a week and a half. That’s what I said to him.

Heidi: I don’t want it to be like this with us. I don’t think it’s fair.

Lauren: How is it not fair?

Heidi: I feel like I have to choose between you and Spencer. It’s like…

Lauren: You don’t have to choose. But you have chosen for the last week and a half.

Heidi: Lauren, don’t even say things like that.

Lauren: It just sucks Heidi. I was the only one of your friends who was gonna say something to your face and it sucks that I did and I really regret it and next time I won’t.

Heidi: Don’t walk away like that and just something like that. It’s like it’s not about that.

Lauren: I don’t wanna fight with you right now.

Heidi: I don’t wanna fight with you, period. You’re my best friend. I love you more than anything. You don’t think I want…? My life sucks when it’s not fine with you. It’s like…you are the most important people in my life ever…in my world. It’s like I care about you and I love you more than anything. It’s like…

Lauren: Really Heidi? Because I really think that you would’ve made time. You keep saying like oh you don’t wanna choose but you have.

Heidi: I haven’t chosen. Don’t make it like that. I haven’t chosen. It’s not like that at all. It’s like I would love to spend time with you but I don’t want it to be awkward time. I want it to be normal Heidi/Lauren time. And it’s like I feel like it won’t be that way as long as Spencer’s in my life.

Lauren: I’m here. How…why not? I told you I won’t talk about it. We won’t talk about it.

Heidi: I know but I still feel like there’s this weird space between us. Do you not feel like that?

Lauren: Okay…Heidi. How would you feel right now if I was like ‘I’m gonna hang out with Jason. I like him again’.

Heidi: That’s a whole different issue.

Lauren: No it’s not, it’s not.

Heidi: Oh really?

Lauren: You came to me and you said all these things that you put on line. You’re like ‘I hate him’.

Heidi: Because I know what happened.

Lauren: I’m saying that I went to you and I made a risk and I said ‘This is all this stuff. I know it’s gonna be awkward but I think it’s more worth it for me to say these things to you. I really like hope that you wouldn’t make me regret but you really did. The first thing you did was go and tell Spencer ‘Oh Lauren hates you, Lauren hates you’…so it’s awkward.

Heidi: I didn’t say ‘Lauren hates you, Lauren hates you’.

Lauren: Why would he buy me flowers? Why would he buy me flowers if you didn’t say anything?

Heidi: Those were my flowers. I was just joking. Like ‘Here Spencer bought you flowers’. I thought it was funny. I thought it was a joke. Like ‘Look he bought Audrina flowers, he bought you flowers’. Like I’m sorry.

Lauren: I really like I don’t even wanna talk to you. (Lauren leaves the room)

Heidi: No Lauren you can’t just shut yourself off like that. It’s like I am reaching out, I’m trying to have a conversation with you…(Lauren slams her door shut. Heidi gets off of the counter and puts something back in the fridge. It shows a picture of Lauren & Heidi. It cuts to Heidi in her room. She is packing some stuff to stay the night at Spencer’s. She goes over to Lauren’s closed door) Do you wanna talk about this?

Lauren: Heidi, I just really don’t wanna talk to you right now.

Heidi: All right. (Heidi zips up her suitcase, gets her purse, goes downstairs, opens the door and leaves, walking down the hallway to her car.)
