on The Hills…
Lisa:
Do you think you can do this on your own?
Lauren:
(V.O.) I worked really hard to get back on my boss’ good side at Teen Vogue.
Lauren:
Let the chaos begin.
Lauren:
(V.O.) And now I was really starting to enjoy my internship again.
Ashley:
I love the umbrella.
Lauren:
Yeah!
Lauren:
(V.O.) Heidi finally made up with Audrina.
Audrina:
He was trying to use me to make it look like we were together and to piss you
off.
Lauren:
(V.O.) But the more she heard about Spencer, the less she trusted him.
Lauren:
You’re crazy jealous.
Heidi:
I don’t know when I got so jealous either.
Lauren:
(V.O.) And when Heidi decided to surprise Spencer at Area…
Kristen:
He walked in with two blonde bimbos.
Heidi:
What blonde bimbos?
Kristen:
I don’t know.
Lauren:
(V.O.) She got a tough lesson on love in LA.
Heidi:
I was really falling in love with him.
Lauren:
(V.O.) Now it was the morning after and we all hoped that Heidi finally knew what
she had to do about Spencer.
CUT TO: Hillside Villas
Heidi
and Lauren are on the couch as Audrina comes in and joins them.
Heidi:
I am dead. This is death face.
Audrina:
Yeah you were pretty bad last night.
Heidi:
Yeah you heard what that Playmate said? She’s like ‘Oh that guy…’ I point out
to him…she’s like ‘That’s my boo’. And I was like ‘Your boo?’ I go…She’s like
‘Yeah I think I’ll hook up with him later’.
Audrina:
Oh…he’s a dirtbag Heidi.
Lauren:
How many people need to tell you like bad things about him?
Audrina:
Remember I told you like he wanted to meet at Pinkberry. And he brought roses.
And I was like…
Heidi:
WHAT? WHAT?
Audrina:
Yeah.
Heidi:
You did not tell me this story!
Audrina:
I told you about Pinkberry.
Heidi:
What? Shut up.
Audrina:
Ask him.
Heidi:
I hooked up with him that night, didn’t I?
Audrina:
I don’t know.
Lauren:
Call him on speaker right now and so he can’t lie.
Audrina:
Yeah call him.
Lauren:
Just do it. (Heidi calls Spencer on her cell phone on speaker)
Spencer:
What up?
Heidi:
Hey. Remember that day you arrived with Audrina at Area? We hooked up that
night, right?
Spencer:
Obviously.
Heidi:
Okay. Then you brought my roses to Audrina at Pinkberry. (He tries to interrupt
her) We hooked up that night!
Spencer:
Oh my god…
Heidi:
I can’t…I am shaking…I’m so angry right now. What…you brought roses to her at
Pinkberry. What the hell…seriously like…?
Spencer:
You want to keep fighting about the same things…? I thought we were starting to
be fresh.
Heidi:
It’s like I don’t want to keep finding out things like I can’t believe I just
found that out like whoa that’s like a big thing you might wanna tell me.
Spencer:
Like I’m done. I’m done trying to explain to you who I am.
Lauren:
You didn’t do anything wrong. Don’t let him flip it. I can trick him as far as
I can throw him. And I don’t even think I could lift him. (Heidi hangs up)
Don’t ever get involved with someone who can manipulate you like that.
CUT TO: Opening Credits
CUT TO: Teen Vogue Offices
Lauren
& Whitney enter Lisa’s office. She is on the phone so she waves to them.
Lauren shuts the door and then they both sit down.
Lisa:
(On the phone) So let me just uh, talk to the girls here, thanks bye. (Hangs up
the phone) Are you both coming in tomorrow?
Whitney:
I know I’m getting my wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow so I don’t think I’ll be
coming.
Lisa:
Oh that’s comfortable. Um, all right. We’re gonna have a dinner for probably
twenty young designers in LA and also Jane Keltner’s coming out and her intern
Emily will be coming out with her and she’ll be helping you, Lauren with dinner
uh, arrangements. She comes in tomorrow at 10 o’clock. She’s supposed to be
incredible, she’s really hardworking, and she’s worked on events before and so
she can help you through this.
Lauren:
Okay.
Lisa:
These are the people that are coming here and you might wanna do an Excel sheet
for me with their phone number and addresses (Hands Lauren a piece of paper)
and we wanna send them all reminder cards. Who’s the one with better writing?
(Lauren points to Whitney) Oh Whitney.
Whitney:
Okay.
Lauren:
I’ll do the…
Lisa:
You do the list.
Whitney:
The Excel.
Lauren:
I can type. (Whitney laughs)
Lisa:
Remember that this is the Teen Vogue way of doing things. We wanna make sure
that uh, everything is taken care of in the matter that we’re accustomed to.
Lauren:
All right.
Whitney:
Okay.
Lauren:
Great.
Lisa:
Thanks.
Whitney:
So I’ll just take that box.
Lisa:
Yeah take that box. There should be more of them on there. (Whitney grabs the
box as they get up and they leave Lisa’s office. Cuts to their intern office)
Whitney:
I wonder what this New York intern’s like.
Lauren:
If she’s anything like Jane, it should be interesting. She’s very like…very
like…
Whitney:
Precise? Yeah yeah.
Lauren:
That’s so not me.
Whitney:
Yeah agreed.
CUT TO: Bolthouse Offices
Heidi
is at her desk when her phone rings. It is, of course, Spencer.
Heidi:
Hello?
Spencer:
Oh…look who picks up their phone…about time. Why are you being so weird? Why
are you not taking my calls? I don’t understand it.
Heidi:
(Whispering) Why am I acting so weird? Because you showed up with Playmates the
other night.
Spencer:
Wait, why are you whispering? I can’t hear you, I can’t hear you. You’re
whispering.
Heidi:
I’m at work. You’re interrupting me at work.
Spencer:
Oh I’m interrupting you now.
Heidi:
You are. You’re one big interruption in my life.
Spencer:
I didn’t know showing up with girls was that big of a deal. It’s not like I
hooked up with any girls. I didn’t kiss any of those Playmates.
Heidi:
How do I know? How do I know?
Spencer:
‘Cause I’m telling you. I’m not a liar.
Heidi:
It’s just all a little sketchy to me. Then I hear about this Audrina thing.
Actions speak louder than words. So obviously you’re not ready for a girlfriend
when you tell me that you are.
Spencer:
I am ready for a girlfriend. Why would I be calling you if I didn’t want you in
my life?
Heidi:
I need a week without talking you, without texting you, like I just need to
clear my head.
Spencer:
Clear your head? What’s in your head?
Heidi:
What’s in my head? Uh, Playmates running around, all over you are in my head.
Spencer:
You need to realize if I didn’t want to be with Heidi, I wouldn’t be calling
you.
Heidi:
If you want me in your life ever again then you need to like respect this.
Spencer:
It’s like I know what I want. I want Heidi. No, you take a week. Let’s see if
I’m here to call.
Heidi:
I’ll talk to you later. (She hangs up)
CUT TO: Teen Vogue Offices
The
New York intern, Emily, is arriving at Teen Vogue. She goes inside and into
where Lauren sits. She puts her fancy gold purse at Lauren’s desk and
immediately gets to work. It cuts to outside. Lauren is pulling her car into
the Teen Vogue parking lot. It cuts to inside. Emily is already to work,
printing copies of stuff. Lauren comes in and sits down. She peeks at stuff
Emily left on the desk and Emily’s purse. Just then, Emily comes in the room.
Emily:
Hi, you’re Lauren, right? Hi I’m Emily. (Shakes her hand)
Lauren:
Nice to meet you.
Emily:
Nice to meet you. So we have a big day ahead of us, planning.
Lauren:
Do we? What are we doing?
Emily:
We’re due at the florist at eleven to pick out the flowers. We have some things
being delivered for the table set…the table settings…
Lauren:
Uh huh.
Emily…To
Kevin Healey’s house at three. So we’re gonna need to go over there at three.
Can I actually have those top two pages? (Lauren hands it to her) Okay thanks.
So until then, we actually just need to get directions to Kevin’s house, which
apparently is sort of tricky to get to, so we need to print those out for
everyone so everyone knows where they’re going, and also uh, find out how to
get to the florist, which is Velvet Gardens. So we’ve got some MapQuesting to
do. So I’m gonna start addressing the reminder cards.
Lauren:
Okay.
Emily:
For the party. Maybe we can divide it up. Like I can do half, you can do half.
Lauren:
Um, sure. Lisa doesn’t usually like me to address things.
Emily:
Oh…handwriting?
Lauren:
My handwriting’s really bad…penmanship.
Emily:
Oh no.
Lauren:
Yeah.
Emily:
Okay. Then I’ll have to be extra careful with my own.
Lauren:
Yeah last time she threw mine away.
CUT TO: Bolthouse Offices
Heidi
is at her desk when Kristen comes up to her to talk about what happened at Area
with Spencer & The Playmates.
Kristen:
Hi.
Heidi:
Hi. (Kristen hugs Heidi)
Kristen:
What’s goin’ on?
Heidi:
Nothing much. What a disaster.
Kristen:
Yeah, what an idiot. What was he thinking?
Heidi:
I have no idea.
Kristen:
Who were those girls?
Heidi:
Who are…? You saw them like what happened?
Kristen:
I don’t know. Him, Brody and two blonde girls and I’m like thinking to myself,
‘Who are these two blond girls? Never saw ‘em before’.
Heidi:
Did he have his arm around them or anything?
Kristen:
No. They really just sat there. They didn’t really do anything. They were
dancing at the table but they never left the table.
Heidi:
It’s like don’t make me look stupid, especially at my work and my place. It’s
like are you kidding me? Who do you think you are to do that at all?
Kristen:
If it were me, I would not be okay with my boyfriend…
Heidi:
No, no.
Kristen:
Bringing two blond Playmate looking chicks…
Heidi:
No way.
Kristen:
At a club where I work.
Heidi:
No way.
Kristen:
Not okay.
Heidi:
Audrina was the first thing and it’s like I didn’t really understand what was
going on there and then this…It’s like you know what? That’s it. Either you
want to be with me or you’re not.
Kristen:
You should. You should just chill out for a little bit.
CUT TO: Lauren’s Car
Lauren
and Emily are driving to the flower store.
Emily:
So I spoke with Lisa about the flowers. We’re gonna go with either like garden
roses like light pink or maybe peonies. She wants like a chinaware kind of
face.
Lauren:
I don’t know what chinaware is.
Emily:
Like um, sort of Asian inspired like ceramic face. Um, hopefully they’ll be
able to source them from elsewhere but she doesn’t just want a plain face.
Lauren:
It’s crazy that it’s so much detail and stuff. It’s not really like an event,
it’s just like a dinner.
Emily:
Well I mean it’s important you know.
Lauren:
Oh yeah no, of course it is. I mean I’m not saying it’s not like as important
as an event. It’s just…
Emily:
Yeah.
Lauren:
A dinner.
Emily:
Well it has to be just right.
Lauren:
Do you go to school?
Emily:
Yeah I go to NYU.
Lauren:
Oh cool. Do you take a full schedule?
Emily:
Yeah I have 18 credits and...
Lauren:
Oh my god.
Emily:
Yeah I have 18 credits on two days and then I work two days at Teen Vogue and
one day at Chanel.
Lauren:
Wow.
CUT TO: The Velvet Garden
Lauren
and Emily get out of Lauren’s car and go inside.
Emily:
Peonies are great. Are these choral charm?
Woman:
Yeah that’s the perfect one for your other palette.
Emily:
Right, right. (To Lauren) Have you been here before?
Lauren:
(Shakes her head) I didn’t even know this place existed.
Woman:
(Comes over to them) These flowers are really beautiful and they look very
chinaware.
Emily:
Oh yeah those are nice.
Lauren:
Oh…
Emily:
That’s perfect.
Woman:
And we could lead like down the table with like different patterns.
Emily:
Mm-hmm.
Woman:
And do like all one type of flower in each one.
Emily:
Yeah.
Woman:
Yeah.
Emily:
Should have brought my digital camera.
Lauren:
I have mine. (Gets her out)
Emily:
Oh you do? Good thinking.
Woman:
And then I would probably just, if you’re gonna go with coral peonies, then
maybe you do like the orange ballerina tulips over there.
Emily:
Uh huh.
Woman:
And possibly we do like some really open garden roses.
Emily:
Yeah I’m loving the pink ones though. (Lauren starts taking pictures of the
flowers with her digital camera)
Woman:
These are incredible. This is like the most incredible specimen of flower, I
think available. (She laughs)
Emily:
Yeah they’re great.
Woman:
I mean they get huge and they …they change…
Emily:
No I have some at home right now.
Woman:
Yeah, yeah.
Emily:
Fantastic.
Woman:
There’s also renockulas.
Emily:
I love renockulas.
Woman:
Yeah I can show you those.
Lauren:
You know a lot about flowers.
Woman:
Do you like this flower?
Emily:
Doles?
Woman:
Yeah. You’re so smart in every flower. You know all the names.
CUT TO: That Night – Luna Park Restaurant
Heidi,
Jen and Lauren are having dinner.
Heidi:
Cheers to single night out.
All:
Whoo!
Heidi:
I wouldn’t give up my singleness right now for anything.
Jen:
Yeah but that’s because you guys have had like the most serious relationships
ever.
Lauren:
I can’t…I can’t date someone right now.
Heidi:
Me either. The thought of love right now makes me want to throw up.
Jen:
No it makes me want to throw up too because I don’t believe in it.
Lauren:
I think that love is stupid. I think that you can get over anyone though. I was
head over heels wanted to marry Jason like obsessed.
Jen:
I know. You guys had your wedding date set.
Lauren:
And I’m fine. The only time I miss having a boyfriend is when I have to put
something together, when I can pick something like a TV out or do car stuff.
Jen:
Lauren that’s not good.
Lauren:
Or when I have a lot of groceries, missing a boyfriend.
Jen:
Lauren!
Lauren:
I can’t lift them all.
Heidi:
(Looking at her phone. Spencer is texting her) Damn it stop texting me!
Lauren:
Spencer?
Heidi:
Yes. I swear to God, he’s called me three times today.
Jen:
Heidi, I’m gonna take this Sidekick and like throw it in my moheato.
Heidi:
I told him I needed a break. And then he calls me all night like leaving me
messages on my machine. (To waiter) Great thank you.
Jen:
What did he say?
Heidi:
‘I don’t know what the deal is’ blah, blah, blah.
Lauren:
He’s sitting there ‘You tell me that you haven’t had the best time with me’.
And I’m like ‘What, are you gonna freakin’ cry about it?’ Like get over it.
Heidi:
Hey hello, we don’t even wanna talk about him. This is so ruining the night.
Lauren:
He’s not a good guy.
CUT TO: The Next Day – Whitney’s Parent’s House
Lauren,
with flowers, goes to see Whitney are she got her wisdom teeth pulled and to
tell her about Emily.
Whitney:
Oh my god.
Lauren:
How did your wisdom teeth go? (Lauren hands her the flowers)
Whitney:
Oh my god.
Lauren:
(Hugs Whitney) how are you feeling?
Whitney:
I’m okay.
Lauren:
Good.
Whitney:
I’m good. Yeah here sit down. (Lauren sits on the bed with her) You want a
pillow or something?
Lauren:
No I’m good.
Whitney:
So what’s up?
Lauren:
I heard it didn’t go very well.
Whitney:
Well it was okay and then like I got these things called dry sockets.
Lauren:
My friend got those.
Whitney:
You heard of those?
Lauren:
Yeah.
Whitney:
How’s work been?
Lauren:
Good, oh you missed Emily.
Whitney:
How was Emily?
Lauren:
No it was like intense. We were in this flower store and I literally didn’t say
one word.
Whitney:
Really?
Lauren:
Like I was just like…(Shows look of gasp on her face) She definitely knew the
name of like every flower in the store.
Whitney:
Shut up.
Lauren:
It was really funny.
Whitney:
That was good then ‘cause some of the flowers were hard to find.
Lauren:
She’s like super intern.
Whitney:
‘Cause she does so much?
Lauren:
Yeah.
Whitney:
Well she probably has more time. I mean is she in school too?
Lauren:
Oh yeah she goes to NYU and she works at Chanel.
Whitney:
Are you serious?
Lauren:
Uh huh. It was funny.
Whitney:
This wasn’t really a meshing situation.
Lauren:
I know. The whole way…the whole time I was there I was just like ‘Whitney…where
are you?’ (They both laugh)
Whitney:
Oh I’ll be there tonight.
Lauren:
Oh I appreciate you ten times more now.
CUT TO: Bolthouse Offices
Heidi
approaches Elodie’s desk.
Elodie:
Hey what’s up?
Heidi:
Sorry to bother you. Do you mind talking to me outside for a minute?
Elodie:
Sure. You okay? (They go into another room)
Heidi:
Yeah I’m okay. I’m just like so confused.
Elodie:
Why? (Elodie sits down, Heidi stays standing)
Heidi:
I don’t know, it’s just like that whole happened with Spencer, you know.
Elodie:
How are you feeling?
Heidi:
I really miss him like…
Elodie:
How can you miss someone that does that to you?
Heidi:
You don’t choose who you love. I really…I really do miss him. He’s been like
calling me a little bit and I haven’t answered and he’s been texting me and…he
was just kinda like ‘Please give me a chance to actually be your boyfriend.’
You know he’s like ‘I’ll make it up to you’.
Elodie:
And do you believe him? Do you think that if you do give him a chance that
you’ll be able to trust him?
Heidi:
I mean, a big part of me does but I guess you also build trust with people, you
know?
Elodie:
Exactly and he’s done really nothing to show you that he’s trustworthy right
now. Jordan hurt you so you ready to sign up for that again?
Heidi:
(Sighs) I don’t know what to do.
Elodie:
What do you wanna do? What does Heidi wanna do about Spencer?
Heidi:
I mean…
Elodie:
It’s up to you. I mean, there’s nothing else I can say about him.
CUT TO: That Night – Teen Vogue Dinner
Emily,
Lauren & Whitney are inside setting up for the dinner.
Emily:
It’s um, 6:20. How should we do this?
Whitney:
We need a plate here?
Lauren:
(To Emily) Do you have the plates?
Whitney:
Oh.
Emily:
Yeah here. (To Lauren, who is setting up the flowers) You wanna start moving
those down?
Lauren:
Do you want ‘em closer together?
Emily:
Yeah.
Whitney:
Wow. Look at us. We could go into business.
Emily:
Everything’s really good, I’ve just been double checking to make sure, you
know.
Lauren:
It’s pretty.
Emily:
Yeah.
Whitney:
It looks really good.
Emily:
It’s amazing. (Emily moves the flowers a little)
Lauren:
(To Whitney) I think there’s too many flowers.
Kevin:
(Enters the room) What do you think?
Emily:
Perfect.
Kevin:
Do you think Lisa’ll like it?
Emily:
I think so, definitely. (Jane, Emily’s boss, comes in)
Kevin:
What do you think Jane?
Jane:
It looks great.
Kevin:
Doesn’t it look good?
Jane:
I love the flowers. (Lisa
comes in) Hi Lisa.
Lisa: Hi
Jane. (Hugs
Kevin)
Kevin:
What do you think?
Lisa:
Looks beautiful.
Kevin:
Yeah?
Lisa:
I think there’s a little too many flowers. Maybe you could take every other one
out. (It shows Lauren smiling at the fact that Lisa agrees with what she said,
without knowing it)
Kevin:
That’s a good idea. (The girls do that) That looks better Lisa.
Lisa:
(Someone lights candles) That looks much better.
Lauren:
(To Whitney) Is there anything else?
Whitney:
I don’t think so.
Lauren:
They were really vague about who was going to do the table and stuff. But I
don’t know what we’re supposed to do.
Whitney:
Yeah I don’t know. I guess I’ll just wait for direction.
Lauren:
She probably does want us to stay and work during the party. Otherwise, she wouldn’t
have had us get changed.
Whitney:
Oh yeah, no. I’m sure we’re staying.
Lisa:
I think we’re all set. (Removes name card) She is not coming. Emily, why don’t
you take a seat at the table? And you can take the other girls down. They’re
gonna go. Thank you for doing this. Emily, make yourself a place card.
Emily:
Right now?
Lisa:
Yeah. (Cuts to outside. Lauren & Whitney are saying goodbye to Emily)
Whitney:
Okay. It was so nice meeting you.
Emily:
I know. It was good to meet you too. (Hugs Whitney) Thank you so much for
showing me around. (Hugs Lauren)
Whitney:
Our pleasure.
Emily:
And everything was good. We did good, right?
Whitney:
Yeah. We did good.
Lauren:
Mm-hmm.
Whitney:
And hopefully we’ll see you soon.
Emily:
Yeah hopefully.
Lauren:
Have a safe flight home.
Emily:
I can come back and stay a little longer next time.
Lauren:
Yeah.
Whitney:
Yeah.
Lauren:
Enjoy your dinner.
Emily:
Thank you.
Lauren:
Bye.
Emily:
Bye girls. (They leave as Emily goes back inside)
CUT TO: Lauren’s Car
Lauren
& Whitney are sitting in Lauren’s car, eating.
Lauren:
I’m so glad you were there today.
Whitney:
What time was the dinner starting? 7:30?
Lauren:
They’re not even eating yet.
Whitney:
No and look at us. We’re chilling in the car. (She laughs)
Lauren:
I know. (She laughs)
Whitney:
Like it totally would’ve been cool to see how it all went down, you know, like
what an actual dinner like that would entail.
Lauren:
When she pulled away the first name and she’s like ‘All right Emily sitting
here’ I was like ‘Oh no’.
Whitney:
It’s okay. At least we got to be part of like the process.
Lauren:
Mm-hmm.
CUT TO: Hillside Villas
Heidi
walks outside in a fancy dress. She walks out to car. We see it is Spencer’s
car, meaning that Heidi decided to take Spencer back.
Spencer:
Hello beautiful.
Heidi:
Hi. (She gets in the car. Spencer starts the car and they leave)
