Lauren: (V.O.) But as cute as he was, I wasn’t sure I was ready to get serious with anyone.

Lauren: I don’t know what I want. I don’t know if I like Brody.

Lauren: (V.O.) Heidi was getting closer to Spencer.

Spencer: I more than like you Heidi. Way more.

Lauren: (V.O.) But Spencer was trying to get closer to Audrina.

Spencer: How do you not like you? That’s what I wanna know.

Audrina: I don’t know.

Lauren: (V.O.) When Audrina showed up at Heidi’s birthday to tell her side of the story…

Audrina: You’re not mad at me, are you?

Heidi: No.

Audrina: I want to talk to you, though.

Lauren: (V.O.)…Heidi wanted no part of it.

Audrina: I just don’t know why she treats me like that and acts like she doesn’t know me.

Lauren: (V.O.) And now, as far as Audrina was concerned, it was time for Heidi to make the next move.

Heidi & Lauren are lying on chairs, poolside.

Lauren: A part of me just wants to be like ‘Brody, we should just be friends’.

Heidi: Oh…don’t say that.

Lauren: It bums me out. I feel like Jason like broke me. Because of him I’m like so different then I was before, like as far as like liking guys.

Heidi: I think it’s gonna be easier for me. Before I didn’t really know where Spencer and I were, but now it’s like, we’re more…secure in our relationship.

Lauren: Yeah. What do you have to do today?

Heidi: Um, I’m gonna meet up with Audrina later.

Lauren: Ooh, are you going alone? It’s a solo mish?

Heidi: Solo mish.

Heidi: So it’s like it’s so stupid like we used to be friends and this is getting in the way of like…

Heidi is at her desk when Brent calls her into his office.

Brent: Heidi. (Cuts to Heidi in Brent’s office)

Heidi: I was wondering…it’s my mom’s birthday and I was wondering if maybe I could go home for two days to see her.

Brent: Yeah. I mean it’s your…you know…I mean basically it’s your vacation time so you use it however you wanna use it like…

Heidi: Thank you.

Brent: All right. Um, yeah, have fun at your mom’s birthday. I’ll see you later. (Heidi leaves his office and goes back to her desk. Her phone at her desk rings. It is Max, a co-worker, calling)

Heidi: Bolthouse Productions.

Max: Just giving you a heads up, the dress code thing. I got kinda chewed out by Jen today. I mean you look great and all but I’m not sure if it’s appropriate for office wear.

Heidi: I’ll talk to Brent about it.

Max: All right, later. (They hang up)

CUT TO: Teen Vogue Offices

Whitney is holding up clothes as Lauren takes pictures.

Whitney: Should we take pictures of these as well? How was your date with Brody?

Lauren: I’m not good at dating. I like forgot how.

Whitney: Did he even try to kiss you that night? (Lauren gives her a ‘look’) I’m just asking. You don’t have to tell me.

Lauren: Um, maybe.

Whitney: Maybe. (She laughs)

Lauren: Maybe, probably, yes. (Whitney laughs)

Whitney: Is he a good kisser? (Laughs) I’m just asking.

Lauren: Whitney! Um, I’m a lady, I don’t kiss and tell. Wait I just told. Just kidding. Um, yeah he was.

Whitney: Maybe it’s meant to be.

CUT TO: Prana Café – Outside

Heidi is having lunch with Spencer.

Heidi: I asked Brent, I go, ‘Do you think my outfit’s inappropriate?’ And he goes ‘No’. I was like ‘Well that little Max kid told me that my outfit was inappropriate’. And he goes ‘Why would he tell you that?’ I was like ‘I don’t know. I’m just saying, throwing it out there, he said that to me’.

Spencer: I can not wait to see little Max up in the club and tell him I think his outfit looks a little inappropriate and he needs to leave. (Looks at the menu) Um, okay. I’m gonna get the mussel breakfast.

Heidi: Why, ‘cause you don’t have any muscles?

Spencer: Oh!

Heidi: (To waiter, bringing drinks) Thank you.

Spencer: I set you up for that one.

Heidi: So I’m gonna have dinner with Audrina tonight.

Spencer: This is a girl that was like (Quotes) supposedly your mortal enemy like a week ago, right?

Heidi: She also used to be my good friend so it’s like…

Spencer: You gotta be…think about her motives. It’s like you guys are just like re-hashing and she sees how happy we are. I’m obviously happy when I’m around you. It’s like very apparent. What’s she gonna do, gonna try to snipe that out? You know, it’s like girl stuff…I have sisters.

Heidi: I don’t know. I feel like if she’s trying to like make up with me…

Spencer: Yeah right. That’s like, way to make up. ‘I’m gonna be your friend and tell you this and that’. It’s like…No drama. Now can we have a good conversation about how pretty you look and how cute your outfit is? And…how happy I am to be here with you and not talking about Audrina? Yeah, yeah? Good deal? Heidi: She asked. She’s like ‘Can I please bring him home for my birthday?’ I was like ‘I’m not bringing Spencer’. (Max and Elodie walk by)

Max: Hello.

Heidi: Hey Max. Hi Elodie.

Spencer: You’re done with that kid.

Heidi: Let’s just go. Come on. (Heidi and Spencer get up. Heidi starts to walk to her car but Spencer walks over to Max.)

Spencer: I think you met the other night. Spencer, right? (Shakes Max’s hand)

Max: Yeah.

Spencer: You don’t really know me so I wanna…no, real quick. Don’t comment on how Heidi dresses. We all, everybody I hang out with, loves how she dresses. (Max starts to interrupt) No…you’re an intern bro.

Max: I’m not an intern.

Spencer: No.

Spencer: You’re an assistant to my boy. (Heidi walks up to them)

Heidi: (To Elodie who has walked over to her) I don’t know.

Spencer: Hey I was being nice until he called me a tool. I was just saying ‘Don’t comment on how Heidi dresses’. ‘Cause I love the way you dress. You look amazing every day.

Heidi: (To Elodie) We’re getting out of here. (Hugs her)

Elodie: Okay.

Heidi: Bye.

Elodie: All right. (To Spencer) Nice to meet you.

Spencer: I’m sorry. (Hugs her) Give me a hug. I’m not a jerk. I just…you know?

Elodie: Bye guys. (She leaves as Heidi & Spencer get in Heidi’s car)

Heidi: Oh my god Spencer. You can’t do that just because you’re my boyfriend.

Spencer: It’s not about boyfriend. I just don’t like people talking, disrespecting…

Heidi: I just don’t…(They drive away)

CUT TO: Teen Vogue Offices

Whitney: So I’m going to this birthday party tonight and I really have no time to go shopping.

Lauren: (Points at a rack) Either look here: English tea party March, and there’s holiday dresses, so you might be able to find something there.

Whitney: Okay.

Lauren: Are they gonna let you borrow?

Whitney: Um, yeah. They said that I could if I found something.

Lauren: Oh that’s nice of them.

Whitney: (Looking through racks) I wanna be like casual but still…

Lauren: I know. I like punk rock.

Whitney: Me too.

Lauren: I wanna date a punk rock guy.

Audrina is sitting at a table, waiting for Heidi. Heidi shows up and goes inside. It cuts to them talking.

Heidi: Okay so this is what happened. My birthday. It was like, you came and I was just like ‘You know what? I don’t think it’s appropriate to like have this drama on my birthday. Tomorrow I’ll talk to you, the next day…’ And then, you showed up with Spencer that night. And I was just like…

Audrina: See I knew that you’d freak.

Heidi: ‘Oh you just showed up with Spencer like are you kidding me?’ I was just kinda like ‘Why would Audrina show here?’ after I heard that you had been like hooking up with him or whatever.

Audrina: Ew…that I was hooking up with Spencer? No I was not.

Heidi: And you were like ‘Heidi’s so jealous because Spencer likes me’.

Audrina: Ew…okay I’m sorry but I don’t like…like he is not my type. At all.

Heidi: I didn’t think he was your type.

Audrina: And he came up to me and he kept like grabbing me on the dance floor. And like he was trying to use me to make it look like to you that we were together and to piss you off and like…I don’t do that to you.

Heidi: I know. I’m just sick…I’m really sick of people coming up to me being like ‘Watch out for Spencer, watch out for Spencer’.

Audrina: Yeah.

Heidi: It’s like I know like just let me be like let me…

Audrina: You have to learn on your own.

Heidi…Decide for myself.

Audrina: Yeah.

Heidi: And it’s like you don’t see how he looks at me. You’re not there when we’re alone. You’re not there when we’re together. It’s like you can’t really judge that.

Audrina: Were you still with him like two or three Saturdays ago?

Heidi: Two of three. Let me look in my planner and let’s see. (Gets out her planner) Two…If it was two, then yeah we were. And if it was three, then I think we were too.

Audrina: Saturday…like he called me and I never called me back, ever ‘cause I was like I didn’t know what his deal was. I didn’t understand like it was just weird. I didn’t know if I should tell you or not.

Heidi: Of course you should.

Audrina: I’m gonna tell you though because I think you should know.

Heidi: Oh yeah. Hell yeah.

Audrina: Like…I’m so like relieved now like…

Heidi: Cheers to us. (They clink their glasses together)

Heidi is talking with Lauren about what Audrina said about Spencer.

Heidi: Okay Audrina and I are fine. We talked about everything. She said ‘He wanted to piss you off somehow’. I guess he’s been calling her. For weeks now. Who would make up something like that?

Lauren: I’m not saying she’s making it up.

Heidi: It’s just hard when you have everyone in LA that you know, coming up to you, being like ‘Be careful’. I mean you know. You know what I’m talking about.

Lauren: You know what, you know what? Seriously, I don’t care. All those people aren’t with us when it’s you and Spencer.

Heidi: That’s what I told Audrina.

Lauren: They don’t see the way that he looks at you. They don’t see that.

Heidi: That’s what I told Audrina.

Lauren: I would tell you. I’m your best friend. I don’t owe anything to Spencer. If I thought Spencer was a rat, I’d be like ‘You’re over it’. I don’t completely…

Lauren: I don’t completely trust Spencer but I do trust that he likes you.  And I mean that’s part of dating. You don’t know people when you start dating them.

Heidi is packing to go home to see her mom. Lauren is sitting on the bed talking to her.

Lauren: What time is your flight?

Heidi:  6:00.

Lauren: Don’t leave me.

Heidi: (Un-zips a suitcase) Oh I don’t know. I just feel like I really need to go though because (Opens the suitcase) I never get to see my mom…(Finds tweezers at the bottom of her suitcase) Oh my god.

Lauren: It’s like finding gold.

Heidi: These tweezers…I haven’t even been able to find a pair this good like…Aah…

Lauren: Did you get her a present?

Heidi: I am the present.

Lauren: K sorry.

Heidi: (Laughs as she folds clothes to pack) Are you gonna go out without me?

Lauren: To Area? Maybe…I don’t know. I think it’d be kinda weird going without you.

Heidi: If you go, you have to tell me how Spencer is.

Lauren: Oh you want me to go to watch him. (Heidi laughs) Oh the real reason.

Heidi: Don’t tell him you’re going.  Just be like very sneaky.

Lauren: You’re so funny. You want me to go spy on Spence.

Heidi: Yeah. I need to…(Lauren laughs) I need to see what Audrina’s talking about and how he behaves when I’m out of town.

Lauren: You’re crazy jealous.

Heidi: I am so jealous. I don’t know when I got so jealous either.

CUT TO: That Night – Brody’s Condo

Spencer is there on a laptop.

Brody: Who’s gonna be at the club tonight? Is Heidi gonna be there?

Spencer: No, remember she’s out of town? I got the Playmates rolling over. So…

Brody: Check your MySpace?

Spencer: Come on now. Obviously gotta check the friend requests.

Brody: How many you got?

Spencer: Not enough. The ladies don’t love me enough.

Brody: (Laughs) It’s ‘cause you got a girlfriend man.

Spencer: That’s like my logic though it’s like whoa…(Someone knocks. The door opens and the Playmates enter) Speaking of love…oh damn…

Playmates: Hi!

Spencer: Oh my god. I’m Spencer.

Shannon: (Shakes his hand) Hi I’m Shannon. Nice to meet you.

Spencer: Shannon, it’s a pleasure.

Spencer: (Shakes her hand) Amanda…Spencer. Hugh Hefner eat your heart out. I’m a little overwhelmed right now to be honest. Can we get a little toast?

Brody: Let’s have toast, come on. Big toast.

Spencer: Brody let’s hear your toast, let’s hear your toast. (They all hold their glasses up)

Brody: To an amazing night and…let’s have fun.

Spencer: Oh…weak, weak, weak toast

Lauren and Jen are getting ready to go out, along with Heidi who missed her flight.

Heidi: I can’t believe I missed my flight. Ugh…I just need to have fun tonight. My mom is so stressing me out.

Lauren: You were at the airport. It wasn’t like you were just like…

Heidi: Totally.

Lauren; Did you tell Spencer that you didn’t go to Colorado?

Heidi: No. And I didn’t tell him I’m going to Area.

Lauren: And I think a little piece of her wants to bump into him and surprise him.

Jen: Implement the spy plan. Perfect ‘cause he thinks you’re gone. But you won’t be gone.

Heidi: At least I’m a surprise to someone tonight.

CUT TO: Area Nightclub

Spencer is dancing with the Playmates.

Spencer: Yeah my girls. (Brody takes a picture with some friends)

Brody: Haha!

Spencer: (Talking with one of the Playmates) So, tell me more about your shoot tomorrow.

Shannon: So, it’s going to be outside and then I get naked and have a picnic.

Spencer: You’re going to a naked picnic tomorrow without me?

Kristen: I saw Spencer with some blond whores.

Heidi: Who?

Kristen: I don’t know. Two blond sluts.

Spencer is sitting with the Playmates talking with them.

Heidi: (To Kristen) Take us to the table. I want to go to the table. (Kristen leads them to where Spencer is)

Lauren: Spencer! (Spencer looks up and sees Heidi, Lauren & Jen) Surprise!

Brody: (To Lauren) Get over here.

Spencer: (Goes over to Heidi) Ahh, so you had a little plan. Look at you. Are you the sneakiest girl in town?

Heidi: I missed my flight. (It shows Brody & Lauren, who are hugging. It goes back to Spencer & Heidi. Jen is hugging Spencer) I’m going to the bathroom.

Spencer: Why are you being so rude? (Heidi walks away then goes to Lauren & Brody)

Lauren: How’s your night so far?

Brody: You know, it would have been better with you. But it’s been, so far it’s been amazing.

Lauren: I don’t know. It seems we kinda crashed you guys’ night.

Brody: (Shows Spencer with the Playmates) No you didn’t. Why would you say that? It’s like, you didn’t crash anybody’s night. If anything, you just made my night. (Goes back to Lauren & Brody)

Lauren: Thanks.

Brody: You really did. It’s like, I’m serious. Look at you…

Heidi: Out of my way. Lauren I’m leaving.

Lauren: Heidi, Heidi, Heidi…Heidi. Heidi. (Goes over to Heidi)

Guy: What’s going on?

Lauren: What happened?

Heidi: This girl just told me that Spencer earlier tonight was like…’Oh, what are you girl’s names? I want to like…’

Lauren: Ow you’re hurting me.

Heidi: Sorry. Hitting on every girl in the f****** club.

Lauren: What girl told you that? What girl was it? (Heidi points at her.)

Heidi: (To the girl) Come here. Will you come here baby? Tell her what you just told me about Spencer.

Girl: F*** Spencer. Like, we walked into Brody’s apartment…And he was all up on this girl. She needs to watch the f*** out. She needs to watch the f*** out.

Spencer: (To Shannon) I didn’t meet you until tonight. So, you just threw off everything. You know what I’m saying?

Heidi: (To Lauren) Where’s your stuff? Let’s go home.

Spencer: I said ‘I didn’t meet you until tonight’. So it’s like, everything got thrown upside down.

Shannon: Everything?

Spencer: It did. You did. Let’s roll. Let’s go. Look out Brian, coming through.

Heidi: (Goes up to Spencer) Spencer. Spencer! (Brings him to a corner so they can talk alone as Lauren watches over by Brody) This girl told me that…

Spencer: This girl…

Heidi: In front of both of us. So, I don’t care what you say. I don’t care what you think.

Spencer: You don’t care what I say?

Heidi: No, I saw in front of her. No.

Spencer: You don’t care what I say.

Spencer: Heidi, give me a hug.

Spencer: Stop.

Spencer: If you didn’t care, you’d be acting like this?

Spencer: Stop. (She walks away from him)

CUT TO: Hillside Villas

Lauren is talking to Spencer on Heidi’s cell phone as Heidi sits next to her, crying.

Lauren: Spencer…you showed up with three Playmates. I saw you flirting with them. Just…

Heidi: I’m over you.

Lauren: You have to…

Heidi: Just hang up. I’m over you. It’s fine. I’m over you.

Lauren: Don’t fall in love with anyone here. You’re too young to fall in love. (Cuts back to Area)
