Lauren: (V.O.) After finally ending the relationship from hell, I made a rule: no more boys. Then I broke it.

Brody: I’m glad you came.

Lauren: (V.O.) I went on my first date since breaking up with Jason. But I wasn’t sure if I was ready to start seeing anyone, even a guy as nice as Brody. Heidi was getting serious about Spencer.

Heidi: I just don’t know really how you feel about me. It’s like a whole different level.

Spencer: I more than like you Heidi.

Lauren: (V.O.) But she was still mad at Audrina for showing up with him at the club.

Heidi: Doesn’t she have her own friends?

Lauren: (V.O.) Now, it was Heidi’s birthday. And all she wanted was for Audrina to keep her distance.

CUT TO: Store

Heidi and Lauren are shopping for a dress for Heidi to wear on her birthday.

Heidi: I want a birthday poncho. I think I want a Betsy Johnson one ‘cause they’re so like crazy. 

Lauren: You want what I wanted, like a fun party dress. I just couldn’t find one for my birthday.

Heidi: What time are we going to the salon?

Lauren: Not too early because I have a little lunch date with Brody.

Heidi: Yay!

Lauren: Did you invite Whitney?

Heidi: Yeah.

Lauren: Did you invite Audrina?

Heidi: We’re not friends so I’m not gonna invite someone who’s not my friend. I don’t dislike her so I don’t care if she was there but I’m not gonna invite her ‘cause I don’t like her. No…if I see her there, I’ll be like ‘Hi. How are you?’

Lauren: ‘It’s my birthday. Want my crown…? Oh you can’t wear it’.

Heidi: Oh my crown!

Lauren: I know.

Heidi: I’m so excited.

Lauren: You really are a princess on your birthday.

Heidi: It’s a rule. Despite what anybody thinks.

CUT TO: Opening Credits

CUT TO: Café

Brody is sitting at a table outside when Lauren joins him.

Lauren: (Waves) Hi! How are you?

Brody: Good to see you. (They hug)

Lauren: Good to see you too.

Brody: (They sit down) Don’t laugh at my haircare.

Lauren: (Laughs) Your hair.

Brody: No you’re gotta stop.

Lauren: It’s cute.

Brody: No stop.

Lauren: You look younger.

Brody: Stop right now. So how’s your love life? (Gives him a look) Been talking to Jason at all? (She shakes her head) Did it end on a kinda bad note? Little bit?

Lauren: Um, no…it was just kinda like ‘I’ve had it’. (She laughs)

Brody: Right, you’re fed up with it.

Lauren: How long did you have…? You went from Kristen to Nicole right?

Brody: I went…no.

Lauren: You had a girlfriend in between?

Brody: No wait hold on…yeah, actually yeah. No it was.

Lauren: You didn’t have a break did you?

Brody: Maybe two weeks, two weeks of like living the single life but its like...

Lauren: Why don’t you ever take breaks in between girls?

Brody: I don’t know.

Lauren: You need to be single for a while.

Brody: The thing is…I mean yeah…it just happens that way. You know, when you meet somebody…say you meet somebody really special…just because you don’t want to get into a relationship, you don’t wanna ruin that with them, you know?

Lauren: Really? You don’t ever feel like, be like ‘Can we just like be friends for a while?’

Brody: But it’s hard to say that if you really care about somebody, you know. It’s hard for me. I’m still looking for somebody to cuddle with.

Lauren: Oh…

Brody: I’m a cuddler. (Lauren laughs)

CUT TO: Epic Records

Audrina goes to talk to Chiara about Heidi.

Chiara: Hey.

Audrina: Hi. Are you busy?

Chiara: Not really.

Audrina: No?

Chiara: What’s up?

Audrina: Um, well you know how I told you the whole Heidi/Spencer situation. And I think Heidi thinks something’s going on with us.

Chiara: Like there’s really nothing with him.

Audrina: There’s nothing with him at all. You’re not gonna get in trouble right ‘cause I’m like back here talking to you?

Chiara: You obviously have not been here long ‘cause you’re not gonna get in trouble for anything.

Audrina: Um, so like tonight’s Heidi’s birthday and I’m not invited.

Chiara: It’s like kindergarten. ‘I’m not inviting you to my birthday’. (They laugh)

Audrina: I mean, do you think it’s a good idea like being the bigger person and just…?

Chiara: Just go and like wish her a happy birthday and like if she’s gonna be a bitch about it, she’ll be a bitch about it.

Audrina: That’s what I’m gonna do. I mean we’re friends and to have a friend, you have to be a friend and she’s not being a friend right now.

Chiara: And is he like trying to date you too?

Audrina: He is. He is a dirtbag. He’s just a pig. Yeah she’s getting played, that’s what it seems but I’m not like hanging out with him or anything. I don’t know.

Chiara: She doesn’t know that obviously.

Audrina: Well this is my last time I’m trying like…

Chiara: Yeah.

Audrina: I don’t know.

CUT TO: Warren Tricomi Salon

Heidi & Lauren go in to get their hair done for Heidi’s birthday party.

Heidi: (To people working there) Hi. Good how are you? (Cuts to them putting on smocks and sitting down) Thank you.

Lauren: (They hold up their glasses) To your birthday. (They clink their glasses)

Heidi: To my birthday.

Lauren: No, to the best night ever.

Heidi: The best night ever.

Lauren: And to lots of other stuff. (They clink their glasses again and drink from them)

Heidi: (To stylist) I’m doing like a very Audrey Hepburn…

Woman: (Moves out of the way) Sorry.

Heidi: …Kind of look. And I’m wearing a black tutu.

Woman: Ooh!

Heidi: Um, so just like really fun but sexy and like…

Woman: Okay.

Heidi: Sophisticated at the same time.

Lauren: Are you getting your make-up done here too, Heids?

Heidi: Of course! It’s my birthday!

Lauren: I know I’m sorry I know.

Heidi: I’m not lifting a hand! I’m an American princess.

Lauren: Hey I talked to Whitney today and she was really tired. She’s not sure if she’s gonna make it.

Heidi: I always wanted her to come but I know she’s just busy. Audrina’s not coming.

Lauren: Have you talked to her?

Heidi: No.

Lauren: Are you just assuming she’s not going?

Heidi: She can come but she can’t come to my party. She can’t come to my birthday!

CUT TO: That Night – Les Deux Nightclub – Heidi’s Birthday Party

Everyone comes in to celebrate with Heidi. Heidi is standing on a couch as someone takes her picture. It shows Brody with a friend and Spencer comes over to talk with them. As someone comes in. Heidi runs over and gives her a hug.

Brody: What are we drinking tonight?

Lauren: Heidi! (She brings over Heidi’s cake. Heidi blows out the candles.)

Heidi: I’m so cute! (Someone takes her picture with it. The cake is a picture of her when she was little.) Nobody can eat me. I’m so cute.

Spencer: (To Brody) Lauren is so your style. And you know it.

Brody: I just got out of a relationship.

Spencer: It’s not about relationships.

Brody: I just got out of a relationship like, a week ago.

Spencer: Today, though…(It cuts to Heidi and Lauren)

Heidi: Look at me, look at me. He’s such a good guy and he makes you smile.

Lauren: I know but it’s bad…

Heidi: Look at me. You’re comfortable with him.

Lauren: But he’s like, someone I’d want to date. I can’t like…I can’t like him now. I’m just not ready.

Heidi: Life’s about taking chances, baby. (It cuts to outside. Audrina is showing up, talking on two phones. Heidi and Lauren are outside and they see her) Shut up. It’s Audrina.

Lauren: I’m gone.

Heidi: We’re gone, we’re gone. (They run inside. Cut to inside. Audrina walks in with a friend)

Jen: That is so rude. (Pulls Heidi onto the couch with her and Lauren and puts her arms around both of them. Lauren gets up and goes over to Audrina. They hug)

Audrina: There you are. I saw you when I first walked in.

Lauren: How are you?

Audrina: Good how are you?

Lauren: I’m running downstairs. I’ll be back in five minutes, okay?

Audrina: Where’d Heidi go? (Lauren leaves and Heidi goes past her) Heidi. Happy birthday.

Heidi: Thank you.

Audrina: You look cute. (Hugs Heidi)

Heidi: Thank you.

Audrina: You’re not mad at me, are you?

Heidi: No.

Audrina: I wanna talk to you, though. Because…It’s just been weird. Every time I see you, it’s just weird.

Heidi: It’s cool.

Audrina: But I just don’t understand.

Heidi: It’s like my birthday and I don’t really want to talk about it. So like thank you for saying happy birthday to me. I appreciate it. But we’ll talk about another it another time.

Audrina: We’ll talk about it later. Did you…

Heidi: Oh, snap! (She walks away from Audrina. Audrina goes over to her friend, upset about Heidi just blowing her off)

Audrina: I just don’t know why she treats me like that and acts like she doesn’t know me. (It cuts to Lauren and Jen)

Jen: I’m going to say something to Audrina.

Lauren: Really? Why? I told her to call me tomorrow so I could talk to her about it.

Jen: There’s no reason for her to be up here if she’s going to be mean.

Lauren: She’s fine.

Jen: She’s talking s*** on Heidi the second Heidi leaves. I’m going to say something.

Lauren: No, she’s not.

Jen: Yes she is and it’s f***** up. (Jen walks away to confront Audrina. It cuts to Jen talking to Audrina) I just wanted to make sure that she had a good birthday. I’m really protective of my friends. You’re such a random girl. You don’t know anything about the situation. All I’m saying…

Audrina: I’m going back downstairs to my friends. I came up here to be nice and say happy birthday and that was it. And now it’s turned into this.

Brody: (To Spencer) Celebrate life.

Jen: I think that’s the best idea. Not that I don’t like you or anything.

Audrina: (To her friend) Okay, let’s go. (Audrina leaves with her friends)

Lauren: (Her, Heidi and Jen are dancing) Hey!

Heidi: Hey! (Heidi and Jen are standing in front of a mirror, laughing. It cuts to outside. Audrina is leaving, talking to someone on her phone, clearly upset about what just happened)

Audrina: I seriously…They’re turning all this s*** on me. Like, what did I do?

Heidi: (Cuts back to Heidi’s party) Oh, snap.

CUT TO: Hillside Villas

Heidi, Jen and Lauren are eating food as they talk.

Lauren: Audrina was just kinda had her feelings hurt.

Heidi: I feel like she just wanted to come there to make trouble.

Jen: (To Heidi) Oh you’re so sweet. You knew I wanted to dip. You did it for me. (To Lauren) Would you ever want to date Brody? Like, do you like him?

Lauren: I do not want to date anyone right now.

Jen: (To Heidi) I like her. I like her that used to be you. (To Lauren) I think he definitely likes you. I think the question is, do you like him?

Lauren: If I didn’t like him, I wouldn’t waste my time worrying about him.

Jen: So if things went well, you would date him?

Lauren: I don’t know what I want. I don’t know what I want. I don’t know if I like Brody.

Heidi: You just want someone on your arm. It’s arm candy.

Jen: Yeah Brody’s arm candy. Hell yeah.

Lauren: Why do we always compare guys to accessories?

Jen: It’s just so right on.

Heidi: ‘Cause they’re disposable like that. (They all laugh)

CUT TO: The Next Day – Teen Vogue Offices

Whitney and Lauren are folding clothes and hanging them up.

Whitney: I just got a manicure and it’s already like all chipped.

Lauren: I need a ‘Me Day’. I need to go and get my highlights done and my nails done…

Whitney: Yeah.

Lauren: My eyebrows done and my few more things done.

Whitney: (Laughing) Yeah. (Lauren’s phone starts vibrating)

Lauren: Can you hand that to me? (Whitney hands Lauren her phone. She answers it and it turns out to be Audrina calling) Hello? Oh hi how are you? Mm-hmm. I’ll go wherever. Um, I’ll call when we get off, okay? Okay bye. (Hangs up)

Whitney: Who was that?

Lauren: It’s Audrina you’re coming.

Whitney: Coming where?

Lauren: Coming to lunch.

Whitney: What’d she say?

Lauren: She’s like ‘I just wanna…I just wanna see if you wanted to get lunch and talk and catch up on stuff’.

Whitney: Maybe since like she’s not talking to Heidi she figures you’re the next person to talk to in order like resolve things.

Lauren: I meant to call her after Heidi’s birthday but I never did.

Whitney: So she beat you to it.

Lauren: I don’t know that’s kinda weird.

CUT TO: Café Verona

Audrina walks to the outside area. She sits down at a table, waiting for Whitney and Lauren. A few minutes later they show up and sit with Audrina.

Lauren: Hi.

Audrina: Hi.

Lauren: How are you?

Audrina: Good.

Whitney: Hi.

Audrina: (To Whitney) Those are cool jeans.

Whitney: Thanks.

Audrina: How is Teen Vogue?

Lauren: It’s good.

Whitney: It’s good, yeah.

Audrina: Are you seeing anyone else now?

Lauren: Seeing?

Audrina: Well I don’t know…dating.

Lauren: (Shrugs) I don’t want…I don’t want to like date anyone for so long. So I’m just having fun.

Audrina: Me too.

Lauren: You know?

Audrina: It’s hard to find a good guy.

Lauren: I’m not looking for a good guy right now. I need to be like fine to be alone and like not even want to date someone and then I know I’ll be fine to get into a relationship. Yeah I don’t want a relationship for a while.

Audrina: But…yup. (It’s quiet for a few minutes) Yeah…so, Friday night. I wasn’t there to ruin her birthday like... I’m like…I’m not…I’m here to here to have a good time. I didn’t come here to ruin her birthday like…I knew she was here so I came up to say hi, happy birthday and that’s it.

Lauren: No that’s fine. Um, I think that she wanted to say hi to you and stuff but I feel like there’s stuff going on between you two and she didn’t want to talk about it that night ‘cause it’s like…’It’s my birthday. I don’t want to do this tonight I’ll talk to you about it later’.

Audrina: Well she won’t talk to me anyways. She’s just changed towards me I guess.

Lauren: You guys have like weird stuff going on and I feel like a lot of that was Spencer.

Audrina: Yeah it’s always that, like guys.

Whitney: Yeah it’s just one of those things, you know, how like friends just sometimes…

Audrina: Grow apart?

Whitney: Yeah….just aren’t meant to be.

Audrina: Yeah, it’s not meant to be so I’m totally fine and like…She’s doing her thing, I’m doing mine.

Whitney: Girl fights. (Audrina nods. Cuts to when everyone is leaving)

Audrina: Bye. (Lauren points) Oh you guys parked over there?

Whitney: Yeah.

Audrina: (To Lauren) Well just ‘cause Heidi and me aren’t friends doesn’t mean we can’t be. (Hugs Lauren) So…(Hugs Whitney) Bye girls.

Lauren: Bye.

Audrina: I’ll talk to you later. (Lauren & Whitney walk one way and Audrina walks another)

CUT TO: Hillside Villas

Lauren enters the apartment. Heidi is out on the deck.

Lauren: Heidi?

Heidi: Hi. How’d it go? (Lauren comes out on the deck)

Lauren: What?

Heidi: Um, lunch with Audrina.

Lauren: Good, I mean Whitney came.

Heidi: Oh she did?

Lauren: Mm-hmm. It was like kinda weird that we went out to lunch.

Heidi: You like didn’t call her out on anything? (Lauren shakes her head) So what’s gonna happen if like you see her out or something?

Lauren: I see her out. I just say hi like anyone else.

Heidi: But it’s not…it’s a mutual thing.

Lauren: I know.

Heidi: I don’t care. I have too many friends and too little time. Nap, dinner, and then meet up with Spencer and Brody?

Lauren: K.

Heidi: Oh!

CUT TO: That Night – Area Nightclub

Heidi and Lauren are walking to the club.

Lauren: I’m excited. This is gonna be fun. Thanks for being my date. (Heidi laughs. Cut to inside Area. Heidi & Lauren walk inside. It shows that Audrina is also there. Spencer and Brody walk in and up to Heidi & Lauren)

Spencer: Oh look who it is.

Heidi: I see Spencer. I think this party is secretly starting now, officially.

Spencer: (Puts his arm around Heidi) Look who it is. (Brody puts his arm around Lauren)

Audrina: I’m so sick of fighting and always being like…ugh. I’d rather just make up.

Heidi: (Referring to Audrina) Is she gonna come over here?

Spencer: It’s like, who cares?

Audrina: Heidi’s always like, so…

Woman: Spencer is the ultimate cheese.

Spencer: (Moves Heidi’s hair to whisper in her ear) Heidi, do not let that girl come between us, please.

Heidi: I won’t. (Heidi looks at Spencer)

Spencer: Jen Bunney. Why don’t you come sit over here? Get up. (Jen gets up from sitting next to Lauren so Brody can sit with her) Let Brody cuddle with Lauren.

Brody: Is that a seat that opened up? You look so upset though. You look ‘Nobody’s allowed to sit here’. (Brody sits next to Lauren)

Jen: it’s cool, you know. I love standing.

Brody: You look amazing, by the way. I’m being serious.

Lauren: You’re so nice. (Spencer takes a picture of Brody & Lauren with his camera)

Brody: You have the most beautiful eyes, honestly. I’ve ever seen. I’m being…You really do.

Lauren: Thank you.

Spencer: I love them so much.

Heidi: Who? Those three girls?

Spencer: No. You’re such a hussy.

Heidi: No you’re the hussy. I’m not a hussy.

Spencer: Brody and Lauren is who I’m talking about.

Brody: I like you. I want to hang out with you. (Shows Brody & Lauren, then Spencer hugging Heidi.)

Heidi: Where did Lauren and Brody go?

CUT TO: Brody’s Condo

It turns out they left Area and went to his condo to be alone. They go inside.

Brody: Well here it is.

Lauren: It’s so pretty.

Brody: Oh…here come on, come on. (They go outside to the deck) Did you have fun tonight? (She nods)

Lauren: Did you?

Brody: Yes, I had an amazing time. (He takes her face in his hands and kisses her) Give me a hug. (They hug. Then he puts his arms around her waist) I’m so glad I’m with you right now, honestly. I swear to God, there is nowhere else I’d wanna be right now then with you.

Lauren: You big cheeseball.

Brody: I’m a cheeseball? (She laughs) Why am I a cheeseball? Shut up. It’s like I really…(She hugs him) I would not wanna be anywhere else. (He puts his arms around her waist again)

Lauren: Thank you.

Brody: ‘Thank you’. Why are you thanking me?

Lauren: Because you’re so being so nice.

Brody: Thank you. Well I’m just being real with you. (She smiles) Look at you. I love seeing you smile.

Lauren: You make me smile.

Brody: You have a beautiful smile.

Lauren: Thank you. (He kisses her again. It shows LA. Then it cuts to Area. Heidi and Spencer have their arms around each other, kissing. Then it shows Audrina leaving LA. Then it cuts to Brody and Lauren.)
