Last Season on The Hills…

Heidi: Surprise!

Lauren: (V.O.) Our first year in LA was full of surprises. With a new city, new job, new friends, and of course Jason, it was all one big adventure. After everything we’d been through, we were all looking forward to a great summer.

Heidi: I wanna go out every single night.

Lauren: (V.O.) I decided not to take the internship in Paris. Which meant Whitney got to go instead. Audrina landed herself a new job at Epic Records and wasted no time fitting right in.

Guy: How’s it going?

Audrina: Good.

Lauren: (V.O.) Heidi got promoted at Bolthouse and now works the door at LA’s hottest club.

Heidi: Do you like my earpiece? Remember when I was jealous you had one?

Lauren: (V.O.) That’s where she met her boyfriend Spencer. But she was about to find out that Spencer was also seeing Audrina. As for me, my plans were to spend the summer in Malibu with Jason. But things quickly went from bad to worse. And finally, we broke up.

CUT TO: Jason’s House

Lauren pulls up in her car to drop off Jason’s stuff that she has. Jason comes outside.

Jason: Damn, golf clubs! (She gets out of her car and starts taking his stuff out of her car and putting it on the sidewalk. Jason looks at it) There’s so much stuff. (Lauren opens up her trunk, gets something out and closes it. Jason looks in a bag) These aren’t my towels. What else is there?

Lauren: That’s it. (Looks in her car) That’s mine.

Jason: (Grabs something) You’re mine. (Laughs) What am I supposed to do with all this?

Lauren: I’m sorry. I just didn’t wanna be like dropping your stuff off on a curb. That’s not how I saw it.

Jason: Stop come here. (Pulls her close to him) Are you still gonna be my buddy?

Lauren: I can’t be your normal buddy though. That doesn’t work.

Jason: Why?

Lauren: Because I can’t ‘cause it’s you!

Jason: So what do you want me to do? I don’t understand you.

Lauren: I’m saying I don’t want you out of my life like I don’t wanna be like ‘No I’m never gonna talk t o you again’ but I can’t be normal with you. Like I want to but I can’t.

Jason: It’s not just like that easy to like, like not see you.

Lauren: I know but it’s harder to see you.

Jason: Come here. (He hugs her)

Lauren: I’m sorry.

Jason: It’s okay. All right. (She gets back in her car, starts it and drives away)

CUT TO: Opening Credits

CUT TO: Bolthouse Offices

Everyone at Bolthouse is in a meeting.

Brent: Who are we waiting for? Brian! (Clears his throat) Okay so Thursday, as you guys know, Area is our new club that’s opening. We wanted to do like an old school Hollywood opening. Red carpet and like media, you know just really exciting. We’re way behind. We’re praying to God that we can be ready by Thursday. So Heidi, you’re gonna be working hostess. Rob, door. Michelle, camera check. So Heidi, we’ve got a lot of work to do so don’t bug me. All right go team.

CUT TO: Epic Records

Audrina gets on the phone and tries calling Heidi.

CUT TO: Bolthouse Offices

Heidi’s phone rings. She looks at it and sees it’s Audrina but doesn’t answer.

CUT TO: Epic Records

Audrina gets Heidi’s voicemail and leaves a message.

Heidi: (Voicemail) You’ve reached Heidi. Leave me a message and I’ll call you back.

Audrina: Hey Heidi it’s Audrina. Um, I don’t know what’s going on, if you’re mad at me or what. So call me back whenever you get this, bye. (She hangs up)

CUT TO: Lauren

She is driving to her job at Teen Vogue

CUT TO: Teen Vogue Offices

Lauren drives into the parking lot.

CUT TO: Inside Teen Vogue

Lauren walks in and sits down at her desk. Shortly after, Whitney comes in.

Whitney: Hey!

Lauren: Hi how are you?

Whitney: Great how are you? (Sits down)

Lauren: Good.

Whitney: What’s going on?

Lauren: Nothing I just got here a little bit ago.

Whitney: So what’s going on? How was your summer?

Lauren: It was good. How was yours?

Whitney: Um, mine was great. I got to go to Paris.

Lauren: I know. How was it?

Whitney: It was insane. (Looks through her purse) I mean it was one of the coolest things…

Lauren: I bet. Oh my god cute purse.

Whitney: Oh thank you. They had all these Couture dresses from the last runway shows…

Lauren: Oh my god.

Whitney: So like I worked on this photoshoot this summer. (Shows Lauren a page in Teen Vogue magazine)

Lauren: Oh cool.

Whitney: Yeah. How was your summer? Did you end up getting that beach house? I didn’t even ask you…

Lauren: Yeah but not for that long.

Whitney: Like I knew you and Jason broke up but I didn’t even…know what happened.

Lauren: Like we just kept fighting every single day.

Whitney: Yeah.

Lauren: And it was like the same fights. And we both knew we were gonna break up.

Whitney: Are you okay now? (Lauren shrugs) I’m sorry. So I don’t know…I wonder what we’re doing today.

Lauren: Have you seen Lisa yet?

Whitney: Just briefly said hi to her. But I haven’t like sat down and talked to her or anything.

Lauren: I like haven’t even talked to her since like the Paris thing.

Whitney: Really?

Lauren: All summer. (The phone rings)

Whitney: Ooh, Brenan’s calling. (Answers the phone) Hello? Yeah sure k. (Hangs up the phone) We’ve gotta go into Lisa’s office.

Lauren: Oh right now?

Whitney: Yeah. (Lauren sighs)

CUT TO: Lisa Love’s Office

She is writing something on a pad when Lauren and Whitney come in.

Lisa: Hi Whitney, Lauren. How are you?

Whitney: Hi.

Lauren: Hi. Good how are you?

Lisa: Good. (Whitney & Lauren sit down) Welcome back.

Whitney: Thank you.

Lauren: Thanks.

Lisa: Has school started yet?

Whitney: Yeah I’ve been in school for a month already.

Lisa: And Lauren? Are you back at FIDM?

Lauren: Um, I start really soon.

Lisa: How was the summer?

Whitney: Summer was great. Um, Paris was amazing.

Lisa: Did you meet Fiona?

Whitney: I met Fiona. She was unbelievable. She sent us to Coco Chanel’s apartment and we got to see that. So it was pretty amazing.

Lisa: Well that was a great choice of yours to make to go to Paris. Is something that you think that you might be interested in doing next summer?

Whitney: Definitely. It would be awesome if I could do that.

Lisa: Oh I’m sure we’ll have a conversation and discuss that.

Whitney: Okay.

Lisa: Lauren didn’t go to Paris. She’ll gonna always be known as ‘The girl who didn’t go to Paris’.  Do you regret that decision? (Lauren nods) How was your summer at the beach with your boyfriend? Did that work out for you? (Lauren shakes her head ‘No’)

CUT TO: Hillside Villas

Lauren & Heidi are in one of their bedrooms, talking about her day at Teen Vogue. Lauren looks like she had been crying.

Lauren: Today was such a bad day. I’m so over hearing about Paris and Jason.

Heidi: I think everyday it will get a little bit easier, you know?

Lauren: (Crying again) And it’s so frustrating ‘cause I was just…I broke up with him because I was sad of crying everyday like I didn’t want to cry anymore. And then I was crying ‘cause I was fighting and now I’m crying ‘cause he’s not here. He was like my best friend. It’s like losing your best friend.

Heidi: The best part of Jason was you. There’s just so many guys who just think you’re the most amazing thing in the entire world. I’ve had SO many guys ask me, ‘Is she single yet? Is she single yet?’ Like I’m not kidding.

Lauren: I hate being single. I’m not good at it.

CUT TO: That Night – Don Antonio’s

Heidi and her boyfriend Spencer are driving in his car to go there for dinner.

Heidi: How’d you ever find this place? It’s like in the middle of nowhere.

Spencer: This is my spot. I’ve been eating here since I was like fourteen. (Cuts to them getting out of the car) Bro, should I just leave the keys in? (Gives Valet thumbs up. Get ready for the best Mexican food you’ve ever had in your entire life.

Heidi: I’m so hungry. (Cuts to inside. Heidi and Spencer sit down in a booth)

Spencer: So we can draw.

Heidi: Yes.

Spencer: (Food arrives) Oh now we’re talking.

Heidi: (To waiter) Thank you. (Reading the menu) ‘Spencer’s steak’.

Spencer: Come on now. You don’t think they’d give me my own steak here? (She laughs) It’s like…(Heidi laughs again) Are you excited about the Area grand opening?

Heidi: A little.

Spencer: Like how do you call that work? Like walk and talk and like cruising around the club it’s like…

Heidi: It’s so fun.

Spencer: That’s what I’m saying. It’s like the best job I’ve ever heard of.

Heidi: Everyone’s gonna be there Thursday night.

Spencer: Audrina, she’s not gonna be there, no way. She can’t get in.

Heidi: All the people I work with hate her so…You know what she used to say, right? She said, ‘Oh Heidi doesn’t like me because I’m hanging out with Spencer’. 

Spencer: When was she…? I didn’t hang out with her this summer.

Heidi: That’s what she said. Was she hitting on you?

Spencer: No she was totally like friend vibe, you know?

Heidi: She’s so weird.

Spencer: There are some people in LA that are…(whistles as to say ‘crazy’) Oh this margarita’s just too good. I couldn’t be happier right now.

Heidi: With your margaritas?

Spencer: No with Heidi Montag at dinner at my favorite restaurant in the world. That is why I couldn’t be happier. (Cut to Spencer’s condo)

Heidi: (As they walk inside) Thanks for the flowers Spencer.

Spencer: Are you staying over?

Heidi: Yeah!

CUT TO: The Next Day – Hillside Villas

Lauren is sitting on the couch when Heidi comes in.

Heidi: Hi. (To her dog) Hi Bella.

Lauren: Good morning.

Heidi: Good morning to you. Breakfast without me?

Lauren: Yeah. (Holds up a bowl) You want some Pinkberry?

Heidi: (Sits down) No thanks.

Lauren: Did you have fun with Spencer last night?

Heidi: Oh my god. Spencer is getting like more and more like affectionate too.

Lauren: Really?

Heidi: Girls…okay. You know how before it was like he’ll go talk to girls, be like ‘Oh this is my friend’ but he’ll still like keeping talking to them?

Lauren: Mm-hmm.

Heidi: Now like he’ll start like hiding behind me. He’ll be like, in a cute way, he’ll be like ‘Oh yeah hi. Nice to see you’ and then he’ll like run like to me and be like ‘And this is Heidi’. And then he’ll like turn to me and like start talking to me.

Lauren: Oh…Spencer loves you.

CUT TO: Pinkberry

Audrina and Spencer sit at an outside table with ice cream. Audrina is holding the same type of flowers Spencer gave Heidi the night before.

Audrina: Thank you.

Spencer: I’ll get this for you my dear.

Audrina: (As he pulls out her chair) Thank you. (Smells the flowers as she sits down) These are so pretty. (Spencer sits down)

Spencer: So you know, I went out with Heidi last night. Thought you guys were friends.

Audrina: So do I. I don’t know what her problem is. And I try to confront her about it and she won’t talk to me so…

Spencer: Does Lauren have attitude too?

Audrina: Heidi’s doesn’t like me for whatever reason, they’re kinda off doing their own thing.

Spencer: How do you not like you that’s what I wanna know.

Audrina: I don’t know.

Spencer: Ah, I’m gonna ask her. They live together, right? (She nods) Right, so tow against…

Audrina: Two against me.

Spencer: I’ll be your team member.

Audrina: Thank you.

Spencer: I got your back. I gotta take you to…do you like Mexican food?

Audrina: It’s my favorite.

Spencer: We’re going to Don Antonio’s like life changing Mexican food like…

Audrina: Good?

Spencer: Chilling margaritas, rubas on the rocks, pitchers…What do you say we cruise tonight and then we’ll roll to Area?

Audrina: Yeah.

Spencer: Are you guys cool?

Audrina: I’m still gonna go. I’m not afraid or like…you know?

Spencer: It’s not like she…like…

Audrina: Heidi doesn’t want to be friends, that’s fine. I’m still gonna go and have fun.

CUT TO: That Night – Area Nightclub

Everyone is showing up to the grand opening. Then it goes to Heidi and her co-worker Kristen. Then it goes to inside Area. Lauren and her friend Jen are sitting down, having drinks, checking out guys in the club.

Lauren: What?

Jen: He’s cute.

Lauren: Who?

Jen: Six o’clock.

Lauren: I don’t know where six o’clock is. Where’s six o’clock?

Jen: Well that’s…(Thinks about it) eleven o’clock. (It turns out to be Brody Jenner, a guy Heidi will soon fix Lauren up with, and Spencer’s best friend. Lauren looks at him. It cuts to outside with Heidi working)

Heidi: Is Cody here with this person? Or is he coming…?

Co-Worker: Yeah I don’t know if he’s with her. (On headset) Kristen, come in. (Just then Spencer shows up with Audrina and Heidi does not look happy)

Heidi: Hi. (Gives Spencer a hug)

Spencer: Coming to dance. You having fun? You working out here?

Heidi: Yeah. Lot to do, lot to do.

Spencer: Where’s our table?

Heidi: On the dance floor.

Spencer: Dance floor, where? You’re not gonna show us our table?

Heidi: No. Sorry it’s VIP.

Spencer: Have fun out here.

Heidi: All right bye. (He and Audrina go inside as Heidi goes back to Kristen) Why would she show up here with him? Doesn’t she have her own friends? Like can’t she get her own guys?

Kristen: She’s obviously doing it to get a rise out of you. Let me tell you something. Girls are sometimes worse than the guys.

CUT TO: Inside Area

Spencer: Heidi does not like our friendship. I didn’t know she actually like, was openly hating you. (Cut to outside. Heidi goes inside Area and it cuts to inside. Heidi goes up to Lauren & Jen)

Heidi: Audrina came with Spencer.

Lauren: No! Don’t you contrib. (It goes to Spencer & Audrina. Spencer is hiding behind Audrina)

Audrina: What are you doing?

Spencer: I was hiding from Heidi. (Goes to Lauren & Jen)

Jen: That is so rude.

Lauren: I know.  (Heidi heads over to Spencer)

Jen: Poor Heidi. That’s bad. That girl, she has balls, dude. She has balls.

Lauren: Heidi’s talking to Spencer. (Shows Heidi & Spencer)

Spencer: I swear on my mother’s life, I didn’t come up with her.

Heidi: It’s none of my business.

Spencer: Your business? You asked me, ‘Why would you come up with Audrina?’ You said that. (Shows Lauren & Jen watching then goes back to Heidi & Spencer) On my mother’s life.

Heidi: I hate her. I don’t know why she’s here.

Spencer: You hate her?

Heidi: Yes.

Spencer: Why do you hate her?

Jen: Now they’re fighting. Oh, wait, they’re smiling.

Heidi: Go dance with her.

Lauren: (Audrina is approaching Spencer & Heidi) Oh, here it comes. Incoming, incoming.

Spencer: (Hugs Audrina as Heidi goes back over to Lauren & Jen) We got beef in the streets.

Heidi: My life sucks right now.

Jen: What did Spencer say to you?

Heidi: He’s like, ‘I didn’t even come up with her. She walked up with us. I don’t know who she is, blah, blah, blah’.

Audrina: I’m trying to be the bigger person, ask her what’s wrong…but I’ve given up. I don’t care anymore. I gave up. I’m done.

Spencer: (Starts rubbing her shoulder) It’s not worth it. You’re too sweet to be getting all stressed out. You need a little massage. What?

Audrina: Let’s go dance. (Spencer takes her hand and they head for the dance floor)

CUT TO: Outside Area

Heidi is going back to work.

Heidi: Why would she come here with a guy that I like was hooking up with? I would ever do that to someone. I would never disrespect somebody like that.

Kristen: Because you’re a good girl.

Heidi: And then you know she’s going around everyone, being like ‘I’m nice’. It’s like no you’re not. You’re a mean conniving bitch.

Kristen: Girls like that are not worth it.

CUT TO: The Next Day – Bolthouse Offices

Heidi is talking to Elodie about her & Spencer.

Elodie: So are things? How’s the boy situation?

Heidi: Non-existent right now.

Elodie: With Spencer? (Heidi nods) What happened?

Heidi: He showed up with Audrina.

Elodie: Shut up. Where?

Heidi: At Area.

Elodie: While you were working? Oh god. Well were you guys full on together in a relationship?

Heidi: I think we were gonna start to be.

Elodie: Like you were definitely falling for him?

Heidi: Yeah.

Elodie: Oh god that sucks.

Heidi: Well I think I’m gonna go home. I really don’t feel good.

Elodie: Really? Why?

Heidi: I don’t know, I’ve been like so incredibly dizzy and nauseous for the past couple days. I can’t even like stand up. I can’t even like sit.

Elodie: I’m sorry.

Heidi: I know me too.

Elodie: Okay bye honey.

Heidi: Bye. (She leaves)

CUT TO: Epic Records

Audrina is talking to Chiara, an Epic intern, about her situation with Heidi.

Audrina: The girl I told you about, Heidi. We used to be friends.

Chiara: Mm-hmm.

Audrina: I went to Area grand opening.

Chiara: So does she work…? Like she works there?

Audrina: She works…she helps out at the door. And we walked in with the guy that she’s like madly in love with and like he kinda had a crush on me and like I don’t know. I think she just freaked out ‘cause she was like ‘Oh my God why is she here with him?’ Like I don’t like him. I don’t have any interest in any of her guys.

Chiara: Right.

Audrina: And he came up to me and he kept grabbing me on the dance floor. And I was like ‘Spencer stop’ like…

Chiara: So he likes you but Heidi likes him?

Audrina: Yeah listen to this. He got back with Heidi supposedly and I was like ‘Aren’t you back with Heidi now?’ and he’s like ‘Well not tonight’. (Chiara laughs) I was like, ‘He’s so piggish’. And so I don’t know, it’s just a huge ordeal and it’s just stupid.

Chiara: Drama not surprising.

Audrina: Just get over it.

CUT TO: Heidi

She is in her car.

CUT TO: Drugstore

Heidi goes inside and gets a pregnancy test. She pays for it and as she leaves, the guy tries to give her a receipt, but she doesn’t take it.

Heidi: Thank you, have a good day. Um, that’s okay.

CUT TO: Hillside Villas

Heidi enters the apartment as Lauren is folding clothes.

Heidi: Hi.

Lauren: Hi. (Heidi goes upstairs and goes into the bathroom. She takes the pregnancy test box out of the bag and looks at it. She starts to take it out of the box and looks at herself in the mirror, taking a deep breath. She opens the pregnancy test and shuts the door. Then it shows the view of Hillside Villas from the sky and the city of LA.)
