Previously on The Hills…

Lauren: (V.O.) My first year in LA was crazy. Who knew that so much could happen in one year? On top of juggling fashion school and a demanding internship, the last person I ever expected to hear from came back into my life.

Jason: Seeing as we live in LA now, start fresh.

Lauren: (V.O.) There were a lot of ups and downs.

Lauren: I apologized. What do you want?

Lauren: (V.O.) But now, Jason and I were stronger than ever.

Jason: I want to get a house so bad this summer, at the beach with you.

Lauren: (V.O.) And the two people we thought would be together forever, broke up.

Heidi: I’m done.

Lauren: (V.O.) School was over. Our internship was about to come to an end. And Whitney got an offer to intern for the summer at Teen Vogue in New York City. As for me, I was about to be faced with a decision that could change my life forever.

CUT TO: Beach House

Lauren and Jason pull up in Jason’s car to a beach house they are considering renting for the summer. They get out of the car and go out back on the deck, where they could see the view, including the ocean.

Jason: Not too shabby, huh? Wouldn’t this be a killer summer rental?

Lauren: It’s so nice. This is so crazy.

Jason: I was thinking I don’t know it’s been crazy and stuff. We’ve both been through a lot this year, up and down. It’s like these last few months have been really good. (She nods) And, I don’t know, I was thinking it’d be nice to do our own thing for a little while instead of being around people 24/7. (She nods again) I wanna get this place with you.

Lauren: Just you and me?

Jason: Just you and me.

CUT TO: Opening Credits

CUT TO: Teen Vogue

Lauren and Whitney go into Lisa’s Office

Lisa: Hi Whitney.

Whitney: Hello.

Lisa: Hi Lauren. How are you?

Lauren: Good. (They both sit down)

Lisa: Um, so this week is LA Fashion Week. And we’re gonna have a pretty rough schedule. Nicole is coming out from Teen Vogue in New York and she’s gonna be working with you, Whitney.

Whitney: Okay.

Lisa: And you’re gonna help her set up the Charlotte Ronson after party at the Roosevelt Hotel.

Whitney: Okay.

Lisa: Lauren, Amy Astley, editor in chief of Teen Vogue, is coming to town. I want to make everything go as smoothly as possible. She’s gonna come to the shows for the first time in LA. You’re gonna be in charge of getting us tickets to the Jennifer Nicholson show.

Whitney: That’s gonna be huge. That’s exciting. 

Lisa: I just want everything to go smoothly while Amy’s in town. You think you can manage that?

Lauren: Yeah.

CUT TO: Bolthouse Offices

Brent: Hey Heidi. (He approaches her desk) So these are the fashion shows I want to go to. If you want to go to the Jennifer Nicholson show, I can probably get on the list for this.

Heidi: Are you serious?

Brent: Yeah.

Heidi: That is so nice.

Brent: So me plus three. So I’ll have four tickets total.

Heidi: Thank you so much.

Brent: You’re welcome. (Walks back to his office. Heidi calls her co-worker Elodie)

Heidi: Guess what Brent just told me.

Elodie: What’s going on?

Heidi: Tonight I get to go to the Jennifer Nicholson show.

Elodie: No way. (Heidi squeals) Oh my god that is so awesome.

Heidi: Life in Hollywood is so good.

CUT TO: That Night – Teen Vogue Offices

Lauren gets into a car.

CUT TO: The Regent Beverly Wilshire

Lisa is standing in the lobby with Amy Astley

Lisa: So we’ll take uh, your car and Lauren will take my car and she’ll go and get the tickets ahead of time for us. (Lauren walks in)

Amy: Okay.

Lisa: Hi Lauren. This is Amy Astley, the editor in chief of Teen Vogue.

Lauren: Hi, how are you?

Lisa: Uh, we’re a bit late for dinner. But we have two more people from Vogue coming and I need two more tickets.

Lauren: Can they… they just give them to me?

Lisa: Yeah Yes. Just ask.

Lauren: Is it the same contact, Kelly?

Lisa: Kelly, Kelly Cutrone.

Amy: Tell them it’s two um, Vogue editors.

Lauren: Okay.

Amy: Okay.

CUT TO: Car

Lauren is in a car on her way to the Jennifer Nicholson show. She gets out her phone and calls Whitney.

CUT TO: Roosevelt Hotel

Whitney is helping setting up for the after party.

Whitney: Hello?

Lauren: Oh my god. Lisa just told me I have to get two more tickets to the show.

Whitney: What?

Lauren: Like it’s a sold out show. Like there are no more tickets. There’s no more seats.

Whitney: That’s kind of like a really big request.

Lauren: I seriously…I’m gonna go like buy two chairs real quick and just like throw ‘em in there and see if anyone notices.

Whitney: Good luck.

Lauren: Thanks bye. (They hang up)

CUT TO: Smash Box Studios – The Jennifer Nicholson Show

Lauren is waiting for Kelly.

Kelly: Can I help you with something?

Lauren: Oh I’m waiting for someone to come out.

Kelly: Who are you waiting for?

Lauren: For Kelly Cutrone.

Kelly: I’m Kelly Cutrone.

Lauren: Oh I’m sorry. Uh, I was wondering…I called you about the two extra tickets.

Kelly: Uh huh.

Lauren: For Lisa Love.

Kelly: I mean I love Lisa and she’s great but this is like the eleventh hour. Who is it for? Who are her…?

Lauren: She said she had two other Vogue editors.

Kelly: What other Vogue editors? I know every Vogue editor. Who else is coming?

Lauren: She didn’t tell me a name.

Kelly: Okay well why don’t you wait over there and I’ll be with you when I can. (Lauren moves to the side. Audrina and Heidi come in. Lauren goes up to them)

Lauren: Oh my god.

Heidi: Hi!

Lauren: What are you doing here?

Heidi: Brent got me tickets.

Lauren: Shut up.

Heidi: He was like ‘Do you want to go to a fashion show tonight?’ And I was like ‘Yeah!’.  And he’s like ‘And an after party?’ I was like ‘Yeah!’ (Sees Lauren is upset) Are you okay?

Lauren: No I’m supposed to get two extra tickets and I can’t get ‘em and I got yelled at.

Audrina: How are you supposed to get ‘em?

Lauren: I don’t know. She won’t give ‘em to me. She’s like ‘No I can’t give ‘em to you unless you give me a name’.

Heidi: Did you try calling Lisa?

Lauren: I’ve been calling her. She’s not picking up. This is not fun. Come with me. Come on.

Heidi: Okay. (Heidi and Audrina follow Lauren) We’ll figure this out.

Lauren: I feel like I’m gonna throw up right now. Like I’m freaking out.

Heidi: Okay we’ll figure it out.

Lauren: (On the phone) Hi Lisa. I’ve been calling you. They…they will not give the tickets unless I give them names and no one knows. I called Julia, I called Blaine, no one knew what names to give her. Okay wait. It’s uh, Hamish Bowles and…okay thanks bye. (Hangs up)

Kelly: So now what’s the story?

Lauren: Oh…she said she’s coming. I have the names. (Gets out the phone) Uh…it was Hamish Bowles and there was, there was one other. Howles or Bowles? 

Kelly: No Hamish Bowles is one person.

Lauren: Okay there was a second one.

Kelly: You need to hurry up though, sweetie.

Lauren: It’s Lawren Howell.

Kelly: Okay so you need your tickets. You’re gonna have to move quicker than this if you are going to work in the fashion business. (Lisa, Hamish, Amy and Lawren show up)

Lisa: Hi sweetie, hi. We’re gonna go right in here. (They all go inside.) Oh and Any. We need Amy. (Lisa, Lauren and the others walk) (To Lauren) Uh, thank you. (The show begins)

CUT TO: The Next Day – Teen Vogue Offices

Whitney: That was a crazy night.

Lauren: Oh my god. I was like ready to cry.

Whitney: I know ‘cause we’re not usually separated like that you know?

Lauren: I know. I usually have help like someone to freak out with. But I was literally like all alone. (Blaine comes in)

Blaine: Hello.

Whitney: Hi Blaine.

Lauren: Hi.

Blaine: How you guys doing?

Whitney: Good how are you? 

Blaine: Good. (To Lauren) Lisa wants to talk you.

Lauren: Right now?

Blaine: Yeah just you yeah okay?

Whitney: Just Lauren?

Blaine: Just Lauren.

Whitney: Okay.

Blaine: Okay? Thank you. (He leaves. Lauren mouths ‘whatever’. Whitney laughs)

Whitney: I feel like the last time that happened, it was when you were getting in trouble.

Lauren: (Gets up) Yeah you should tell me that right before I leave. That’s a really good friend. (Whitney laughs)

Whitney: No you’re fine. You did nothing wrong. (Whitney laughs as Lauren leaves the room.)

CUT TO: Lisa Love’s Office

She is on the phone

Lisa: Yes they should be there in an hour. (Lauren comes in and sits down. Lisa says goodbye in French.) Goodbye. (She hangs up the phone) Um, Lauren we need to talk. Amy Astley liked you and thought you did a great job at Fashion Week. And you did a great job while you were here. I know it was shaky there in the beginning, and you worked your way up and uh, I think you got everything together by the end.

Lauren: I tried.

Lisa: Uh, they gave Whitney the internship in New York uh, for the summer. So I think that’s exciting and I think she’s gonna go. So we’re trying to think about what might be good for you next. And we have this internship in Paris. And you’ve been nominated to go for the summer.

Lauren: For this summer?

Lisa: It’s this summer. It’s a great, great opportunity. You work uh, during Couture Week in Paris.

Lauren: Wow.

Lisa: Paris is probably the single most important place to ever be in the fashion business. And Newer thinks you can do it. You don’t have much time to think about it.

Lauren: Yeah.

Lisa: You really have to let me know right away. I think honestly, if you go to Paris, you won’t wanna come back.

CUT TO: Teen Vogue Offices

Lauren comes back in the room and sits down.

Lauren: Hi.

Whitney: Hey. What happened?

Lauren: I’m not in trouble.

Whitney: Okay good.

Lauren: She offered me an internship in Paris.

Whitney: Shut up. You’re lying. (Lauren shakes her head ‘No’) For the summer?

Lauren: (She nods) I’d do like Fashion Week in Paris.

Whitney: You are lying.

Lauren: Like Couture shows and like some huge ball that I can’t pronounce and…

Whitney: Oh my god.

Lauren: I know.

Whitney: You gotta do it, right?

Lauren: I don’t know ‘cause like I planned my summer with Jason.

Whitney: I know but this is Paris.

Lauren: I know but I’d be gone like all summer.

Whitney: Damn…it’s like my dream to make it to Paris. If you don’t do it, I’ll do it. Seriously, that’s like insane.

Lauren: It’s just like it’s like something like not, no joke, would like change your life.

Whitney: I’m sure your like heart is telling you to stay but…timing right? If it was only like…another summer. (It cuts to them leaving Teen Vogue) All right my car’s this way.

Lauren: Goodbye. (They hug)

Whitney: I’ll miss you.

Lauren: I’ll call you tomorrow, okay?

Whitney: Okay no, tell me what you’re gonna do. Okay bye. (Whitney leaves and Lauren walks outside)

CUT TO: Hillside Villas

Lauren is sitting on the couch reading Paris Vogue when Heidi comes in.

Heidi: Hi!

Lauren: Hi.

Heidi: What are you doing? (Lauren shows her the magazine) Paris Vogue. (Sits down on the couch) What’s going on?

Lauren: Um, I got called into Lisa Love’s office today.

Heidi: Did you get in trouble?

Lauren: No I didn’t get in trouble. (Heidi laughs) I thought I was getting in trouble.

Heidi: ‘I didn’t do anything’.

Lauren: She offered me a summer internship.

Heidi: For where?

Lauren: They gave me one for Paris.

Heidi: Oh…! Oh my god that’s huge. Are you excited? Are you gonna go?

Lauren: I don’t know.

Heidi: That’s like a huge deal.

Lauren: I know but it’s like I already kinda had my summer planned it and it was like I wasn’t expecting it at all.

Heidi: Oh yeah. What about Jason? I thought you were gonna move in with him. You don’t think it would like jeopardize things with Jason, do you?

Lauren: It just sucks ‘cause it’s like this whole year, like it’s been up and down, up and down and finally we’re like at a really good place and it’s like to leave now…after like all we’ve been through, I feel like that just like how’s that gonna work, you know?

CUT TO: The Beach House

Lauren gets out of her car and goes inside, where Jason is on the floor with headphones in.

Jason: Yo. (He takes his headphones out just as she kisses him)

Lauren: Hi.

Jason: How was work?

Lauren: It was good. (She sits down on one of the couches)

Jason: How was your day?

Lauren: Look at you relaxing.

Jason: I know I’m relaxing and waiting for you.

Lauren: I’m here.

Jason: I know. You need to help me figure out what other stuff we need to bring here.  I was thinking about patio furniture. And like I was thinking about getting a barbecue. And…some other stuff. What?

Lauren: Yeah. No, no it sounds good.

Jason: You don’t sound too excited.

Lauren: No I am excited.

Jason: What’s wrong?

Lauren: Today Lisa Love offered me an internship for the whole summer.

Jason: Where?

Lauren: Paris.

Jason: Are you going?

Lauren: I don’t know like Paris isn’t something that you just immediately say no to, you know? Like Paris they only offer it to one of the interns.

Jason: I mean I’m gonna support you whatever you do. I mean…obviously you’ll make the right decision. I mean if you go, I’ll be happy for you. Whatever you do, I’ll be there for you so…You’ve always been there for me.

Lauren: Come here. (He joins her on the couch)

Jason: What?

Lauren: (Puts her arms around him) Sit with me. (He kisses her cheek. They kiss)

Jason: What are you gonna do?

Lauren: I don’t know.

CUT TO: Hillside Villas

Audrina and Heidi are sitting by the pool. Heidi is taking stuff off her phone.

Heidi: He is so off my list. (They laugh) I need a new guy.

Audrina: (Takes Heidi’s phone) So do I.

Heidi: See this is how I used to be. I used to like a guy for like a day and then I’d be sick of him. And then…God knows what happened with Jordan. I don’t know how I started liking him. That was a mistake.

Audrina: Yeah we had that conversation. I don’t…

Heidi: Yeah but I don’t know what happened there. And now I’m like getting back to my old self. I’m like ‘New guy, new guy’. This is how I think. In preschool, is how you’re gonna be the rest of your life. ‘Cause in preschool I was like ‘I love you, I love you, I love you’ and I used to have a new boyfriend every five minutes in preschool.

Audrina: Are you serious?

Heidi: Yeah and I used to make guys fight over me and stuff. So I’m gonna start doing that again. It worked then.

Audrina: You’re so over Jordan.

Heidi: I know I really am so over him. Now that I’m single I want to go out every single night.

Audrina: You’re going out every night this summer.

Heidi: I want to.

Audrina: And day.

Heidi: I want to meet so many guys. We’re gonna have the best summer.

Audrina: I miss Lauren.

Heidi: I think she knows what she wants

CUT TO: Heidi & Lauren’s Apartment

Lauren is packing up her things. Heidi comes in.

Heidi: Are you done?

Lauren: I’m almost done. (Zips up a purse)

Heidi: You’re bringing that?

Lauren: Yeah! (To purse) Get in there. (Shoves it into her suitcase & Heidi laughs) Why are you being so weird? You’re acting like I’m like going away forever. Bella.

Heidi: Bella. You’re not supposed to be in here. (Lauren picks up Bella) Stay goodbye to Bella.

Lauren: Bye Bella. I’m gonna miss you, you stinky dog. (Heidi laughs Lauren puts down Bella)

Heidi: You should probably get going. (Lauren zips up her suitcase. She starts to bring the suitcase out of her room. Heidi follows) Say goodbye to the apartment.

Lauren: It’s okay. I’m not gonna miss the apartment. Just miss my Heidi. (They hug)

Heidi: Just miss me.

Lauren: Goodbye you. I love you.

Heidi: Goodbye I love you.

Lauren: I’ll call you.

Heidi: You’re my best friend.

Lauren: You’re my best friend.

Heidi: Don’t find a new best friend.

Lauren: Don’t get another roommate. (Hugs her) I’m coming back.

Heidi: Of course not. (They laugh) Soon.

Lauren: I’ll be back. Goodbye.

Heidi: Let me know when you get there.

Lauren: I will.

Heidi: I’ll know you’re safe. Bye. (Lauren leaves and Heidi shuts the door. Lauren walks down the hall with her suitcase. She walks outside to her car. She puts the suitcase in the back of her car. She gets in the car and starts driving)

CUT TO: LA International Airport

A car pulls up and Lisa Love gets out.

CUT TO: Lauren

She is driving on the highway. To where, we still don’t know.

CUT TO: LA International

Lisa is waiting for someone but we don’t know if it’s Whitney or Lauren. Someone puts her bag on a cart.

CUT TO: Beach House

Jason is waiting on the deck for Lauren but we don’t know yet if she chose to stay with him in Malibu for the summer.

CUT TO: Lauren

Still driving.

CUT TO: LA International

Lisa is checking stuff on her phone

CUT TO: Lauren

Still driving. She puts her signal on. She turns into the beach house driveway, meaning she turned down Paris and decided to stay in Malibu with Jason.

CUT TO: The Deck

Lauren approaches Jason. They kiss and hug.

CUT TO: LA International

Someone shows up with a suitcase and it is Whitney, meaning she got to go to Paris when Lauren turned it down.

Whitney: Hi.

Lisa: Hi Whitney.

Whitney: How are you?

Lisa: Good how are you?

Whitney: I’m good.

Lisa: Are you ready to go?

Whitney: I’m ready.

Lisa: Okay let’s go. (They head inside the airport)

CUT TO: The Beach House

Lauren and Jason are kissing again.

Jason: You came just in time for the sunset. (She leans on his shoulder. It then shows the water and the sky) We’re gonna have a good summer. (They lace their fingers together. She nods) I love you.

Lauren: I love you too. (She kisses him. She leans on him again. It shows the other houses there and the water. It shows Lauren and Jason standing together, looking out. It then shows an airplane in the sky, probably Whitney’s plane heading for Paris. It shows Lauren and Jason again. Jason holds Lauren.)
