on The Hills…
Lauren:
(V.O.) Heidi and Jordan’s relationship had its ups and downs.
Heidi:
I didn’t do anything. I walked over there. I went to the bathroom. Calm down.
Jordan:
Next time I’m beating his ass.
Lauren:
(V.O.) And they never saw eye to eye on anything.
Heidi:
I didn’t do any of that.
Jordan:
You’re ridiculous.
Heidi:
All right fine.
Jordan:
Shut up.
Heidi:
Don’t tell me to shut up!
Jordan:
Like I don’t understand you.
Lauren:
(V.O.) Jason surprised me with a romantic dinner for my birthday. But the
evening didn’t go exactly as planned.
Lauren:
Jason, look at me. I told you I would rather stay here.
Jason:
Yeah okay then we can stay here.
Lauren:
(V.O.) Now summer is around the corner. I’m so ready for work and school to be
over. But I still don’t know what will happen with me and Jason. And Heidi was
questioning if her relationship with Jordan was meant to be.
CUT TO: Café
Heidi
is talking with Audrina about her and Jordan.
Heidi:
Oh what a day!
Audrina:
You and Jordan. You guys have been together how long now?
Heidi:
Like seven or eight months.
Audrina:
Seven or eight months.
Heidi:
So we’re kinda over the honeymoon stage.
Audrina:
You guys are like the perfect couple whenever we all hang out.
Heidi:
I feel like a part of him is like jealous or mad that I have this job.
Audrina:
Yeah I have different boy problems. Like I’ve never been in a serious long-term
relationship but I’ve…it’s different.
Heidi:
I don’t know…we’ve just been kinda bickering a lot lately. I never have time to
myself.
Audrina:
Me time, yeah.
Heidi:
I never do. I think that might be the problem too, like I just don’t…I’m very
independent and I feel like I haven’t been lately. Like sometimes he’ll like
snap at me. I’ll be like ‘Jordan! You can’t snap at me like that’.
Audrina:
Oh my god.
Heidi:
I don’t know. It’s so frustrating.
Audrina:
I mean whatever’s supposed to happen is gonna happen.
Heidi:
I feel like it’s all on the verge of a turning point but I don’t know exactly
what it’s gonna be.
Audrina:
Yeah.
CUT TO: Opening Credits
CUT TO: Hillside Villas – Audrina’s Apartment
She
is sitting on her bed when her doorbell rings. She answers it and it is Heidi,
arguing on the phone with Jordan.
Heidi:
Yes! I said that’s fine.
Audrina:
Hi.
Heidi:
(To Audrina) Hi.
Audrina:
You okay?
Heidi:
Don’t yell…do not cuss at me Jordan. Don’t do that. (She hangs up on him) Ugh…
Audrina:
Are you okay? Here, sit here. (They both sit down)
Heidi:
(In tears) What do I do when he like cusses and yells at me? I don’t know what
to do. (Audrina hugs her)
Audrina:
Why is he yelling at you?
Heidi:
Because I won’t go get him. And then…I was like ‘Well I’m with Audrina right
now’. And then he just started screaming at me and I don’t know how he can do
this when I never do that to him. I never yell at him. I never talk to him like
this.
Audrina:
I know you don’t. You’re so good to him that’s why it’s not fair Heidi. You
deserve better.
Heidi:
I used to be so strong. I used to be able to do whatever I want and then…I feel
like I’ve been broken down little by little and now it’s just like…I don’t know
what to do. I can’t have him talk to me like this anymore.
Audrina:
You need a break from him.
Heidi:
I’m just like…I just want to be with someone who loves me so much. Okay
whatever I do think I deserve to be a princess.
Audrina:
You do.
Heidi:
Every girl deserves to be treated like a princess like…but you don’t treat me
like crap. That’s not okay and that’s not an excuse.
Audrina:
That’s not acceptable.
Heidi:
Like I know what I have to do and I know what I want to do. But why can’t I get
there? (In tears) I just don’t know what to do.
CUT TO: Teen Vogue Offices
Whitney
is looking in her purse for something.
Lauren:
You look so ladylike today.
Whitney:
I do?
Lauren:
Mm-hmm.
Whitney:
I’m gonna put on these pearls. Wait how was your birthday?
Lauren:
It…it was good. It was like mellow.
Whitney:
Yeah?
Lauren:
Mm-hmm. In the morning I had like a big thing of roses and it was like a little
note. It was like ‘Be ready at five a car will be there to pick you up’. I went
there and it was like a limo outside and it took me to the Standard Hotel
downtown. And he had like probably like a hundred candles like everywhere and
like rose petals and roses.
Whitney:
So he got a room at the Standard?
Lauren:
Yeah.
Whitney:
So romantic.
Lauren:
It was perfect. It was all I wanted.
Whitney:
I’m impressed with guys like that. ‘Cause these guys are so young but they know
what to do. (They laugh) Seriously.
CUT TO: That Night – Hillside Villas
Heidi
is sitting on the couch with Bella when Jordan comes in.
Heidi:
Hey.
Jordan:
Hey. (He shuts the door) Hey Bella.
Heidi:
No Bella doesn’t wanna talk to you.
Jordan:
Why?
Heidi:
Jordan we need to talk. (He sits down on the couch with her)
Jordan:
Of course. (To Bella) Come here Bella.
Heidi:
Jordan, I’ve just been thinking a lot lately about how you’ve been snapping at
me and it’s really been affecting me. So this was one more push. It’s like the
straw that broke the camel’s back. I was just like ‘how can he keep talking to
me like this? I don’t know what to do to make him stop talking to me like
this’. And that was it for me. And I just don’t…I don’t know how to make you stop
because you think you’re passionate or whatever but it hurts my feelings. I’m
not used to being talked to like that.
Jordan:
No, no listen I just proved to you…no, no because…
Heidi:
Yes Jordan. It’s a combination of the words and how you talk to me.
Jordan:
Okay but I’m not gonna do that ‘cause that’s not who I am. I’m not gonna
completely re-construct who I am to become this calm person.
Heidi:
Okay but you can’t watch how you talk to me just a little bit?
Jordan:
I told you…
Heidi:
You can’t monitor a little bit?
Jordan:
I told you that whenever I’m passionate and I get freakin’ going like this, I’m
not gonna…I will watch what I say mean to you.
Heidi:
I would think that the more that you love me, the more you’d want to be like
calm and understand and trying to make me feel more comfortable and not
snapping at me and watching how you say it a little bit.
Jordan:
Okay, sometimes you have this whole like little princess persona like I have to
cater to you all the time.
Heidi:
I’m a girl. I should be a princess. How you treat me is a big deal.
Jordan:
It is.
Heidi:
And I cater to you a lot. I feel like I treat you like a prince or however you
want to say it but I feel like I cater to you a lot.
Jordan:
I do something when I wanna do something. That’s just the way I am. Bella come
here. (Whistles at Bella but she just walks away) Come on Bella come here.
Heidi:
(They both get up) Fine then we’ll just think about it then. (Heidi goes into
her bedroom)
Jordan:
(Looking through his phone) I’m gonna run and go do something.
Heidi:
To get all your adrenaline out?
Jordan:
Look…but I love you.
Heidi:
See you tomorrow.
Jordan:
Tomorrow like I’m not coming back.
Heidi:
Not tonight you’re not.
Jordan:
(Laughs) Shut up. (Opens the door and leaves. When the door closes, Heidi goes
out of her room and locks it.)
Heidi:
Come here Bell. (Whistles at her as she goes into her room again) Bella
come
on. Come on baby. (Bella doesn’t move) Fine stay out here. (Shuts her door)
CUT TO: The Next Day – Mani’s Bakery
Jason
and Lauren are sitting outside, eating and talking.
Jason:
I do not believe you are twenty.
Lauren:
I will never again be a teenager.
Jason:
It’s kinda gnarly. It’s kinda sad. Do you like what we did on your birthday?
Lauren:
Yeah.
Jason:
Did you do anything with your parents for your birthday or…?
Lauren:
They really want to take you out to dinner. They do. They keep telling me.
They’re like ‘We want to take you and Jason out to dinner’. Think about it.
Jason:
I will. I wanna get a house so bad this summer at the beach, with you.
Lauren:
Come here and kiss me. (They kiss)
Jason:
Ready? (They get up and walk, holding hands. Then they put their arms around
each other and kiss)
CUT TO: Pan Pacific Park
Brian
and Jordan are walking and talking about Jordan and Heidi.
Brian:
Slept over at our place for a change, huh?
Jordan:
Yeah.
Brian:
Tell what happened dude. I knew something’s up.
Jordan:
Nah dude. It’s like I raise my voice like this and she thinks I’m being like
attacking her. I’m being mean when I’m not. I…I think there’s something more to
this than she’s saying because no way she’s gonna get mad with the way I talk
to her.
Brian:
Yeah whenever girls get mad at something, it’s usually something else that
they’re really mad at but they just don’t wanna tell you ‘cause you should
know. You should know what you did wrong.
Jordan:
Whatever.
Brian:
Call up and be like ‘What we argue about is so stupid like come on, I love you
like this is ridiculous’. (They sit down on a bench) You know? You guys’ll be
fine. Um, you know what you should do? You know what would be really cool? What
time does she get off work?
Jordan:
Six. She’s having dinner tonight with Lauren.
Brian:
‘Cause I was gonna say you should show up in like a suit and tie with like with
uh, flowers when she’s getting off work and just be like ‘Please let me take
you out to dinner’.
Jordan:
I don’t know if I wanna do that.
Brian:
That’s all I can say bro. Let’s uh, you wanna go shoot around? Whatever.
Jordan:
Yeah. (They get up to go play some basketball) Take my mind off that.
CUT TO: That Night – Café Sushi
Lauren
and Heidi are having dinner, discussing Heidi’s problems with Jordan.
Heidi:
I was just like so…I couldn’t eat all day. I was so sick to my stomach thinking
about what was going on.
Lauren:
I don’t understand like what is you’re…you’re fighting over like…?
Heidi:
Um, it started because he’s treating me really bad lately like really bad and
getting…and I haven’t said anything just ‘cause I was gonna let it go.
Lauren:
Boy problems are no fun.
Heidi:
I think they’re like the worst problems you could have.
Lauren:
You know that Jordan loves you. There’s no question. It’s not a question of
whether or not he loves you. It’s a question of whether or not this relationship
is working. You know that whatever you do, that me and Jason are gonna be
there. You know that.
Heidi:
Right. A part of me is like ‘This is your chance out. This is your easy out
Heidi. This is it’. And then a part of me is like ‘No, you’re really gonna miss
him’ and I don’t know the difference. I don’t know what I think.
Lauren:
Heidi, regardless you’re gonna miss Jordan.
Heidi:
Right.
Lauren:
I mean, you’re gonna miss even stupid things like that…everything in your room
is gonna remind you of Jordan. Love is not a maybe thing. You know when you
love someone.
Heidi:
I love him but there’s a difference between loving someone and being absolutely
in love with someone.
Lauren:
Are you absolutely in love with Jordan?
Heidi:
No.
CUT TO: The Next Day – Hillside Villas
It
is raining outside. Inside their apartment, Lauren is sitting on the couch
reading a magazine. It shows bags and boxes of stuff, showing that Heidi has
decided to end things with Jordan. Heidi is in her room, talking to her mom
while taking stuff of her and Jordan out of her room.
Heidi:
Hey Mommy. Hi. Jordan’s coming over here. (She sounds on the verge of tears) I
packed all of his stuff last night. (Takes pictures off her wall of her and
Jordan) I’m like so nervous. ‘Cause it’s so hard. (It shows Lauren taking a
page out of the magazine she is reading. It then goes back to Heidi, taking
more pictures off the wall) Just seeing all this stuff, makes me want to cry.
(Closes up on picture of Heidi and Jordan. They are all dressed up and kissing,
looking happy. Then it shows another one, one of Heidi and then of Heidi and
Jordan. Heidi is holding him as he kisses her. She is taking the pictures out
of the frame. It shows one of them, smiling and holding each other) ‘Cause I
just feel like I’ve been broken. (It cuts to Lauren. She looks up as Jordan
enters the apartment. He goes into Heidi’s room) Jordan’s here, I gotta go. I
gotta go. Love you. (Hangs up the phone. Jordan sits on the bed with her) Hi.
Jordan:
Hi.
Heidi:
I can’t do this anymore.
Jordan:
I know, I know. I can’t either. I’ve just completely screwed things up. But I
love you. (Crying) More than anything in this world Heidi. (She starts crying
too) I can’t…like I’ve tried to imagine my life without you but I can’t. I really
can’t.
Heidi:
Jordan, it’s not about if I love you because you know that I love you more than
anything. It’s about us not being the best for each other. And I’m done…I’ve
tried this.
Jordan:
You don’t think I’m the best for you?
Heidi:
No I think that we’ve been bringing out the worst in each other. It’s little
comments that we say to each other and it’s little things and it’s just…
Jordan:
Heidi, I can’t…I can’t live without you. Like I will do whatever it takes.
Heidi:
I’m done. I’m done. (He sighs. She gets up and takes a key off a keychain. He
gets up) Here’s my key. Here’s your bracelet and your necklace. Come here
Bella. (He leaves the room and she follows. He leaves their apartment for the
last time. She opens the door.) Goodbye Jordan. (She shuts the door) (In tears)
It was so hard. (It cots to her and Lauren on the couch. Lauren hugs her as she
cries)
Lauren:
I’m sorry. I’m here baby.
Heidi:
I know, thank you. I’m gonna go take a nap. I have the worst headache. I’m
gonna be sick.
Lauren:
Okay we’re gonna be here, k?
Heidi:
Okay thank you. Come on Bella. (Bella follows Heidi into her room. Heidi shuts
the door. She lies down on her bed)
CUT TO: Brian & Jordan’s Apartment
Brian
and Jason are sitting on the couch when Jordan comes in and sits with them, to
tell them about the break-up.
Jason:
So you talked to her?
Jordan:
Yeah
Jason:
When she came over here to see you I knew something was up.
Brian:
What happened man?
Jordan:
A lot…obviously a lot more than I even thought.
Brian:
It just seemed like so out of nowhere.
Jordan:
It is. I mean dude…she packed all my stuff, took all my pictures out of
the…it’s over like she’s done. I mean, you know what, whatever. Maybe, maybe I
do talk to her in a way that I shouldn’t or maybe I, I…you know, maybe I
should’ve thought about that. But…
Brian:
I’m just literally in shock. I just…the last thing I would ever expect is for
you guys to break up. I thought you guys were Ken and Barbie.
Jason:
Dude it blows my mind because it’s like Lauren and I, you know? We always would
come to you guys, you know, like when we were like in fights. You guys would do
the same thing. We’ve been back and forth all the time. I thought me and Lauren
would be way done before they would.
Jordan:
But what happened?
Jason:
That’s what I’m saying. It doesn’t make sense to me ‘cause we used to come to
you. You helped us get better.
Jordan:
It was picture perfect like on the outside. We’d always…people were always like
‘Oh my god, they’re completely in love’. All the time.
CUT TO: The Next Day – Teen Vogue
Lauren
and Whitney are looking through clothes and hanging things up.
Whitney:
So what’s up?
Lauren:
Did you hear that Heidi and Jordan broke up?
Whitney:
No.
Lauren:
Yeah
Whitney:
No…
Lauren:
Yeah Heidi and Jordan broke up.
Whitney:
You’re lying.
Lauren:
It’s just like depressing to be in our apartment right now. It’s crazy.
Whitney:
Oh my god. Is she devastated?
Lauren:
Yeah.
Whitney:
Um, oh my god. I really gotta call Heidi. I mean I don’t wanna like bring her
down but…
Lauren:
Yeah, no she’s like…
Whitney:
She’s gonna be here this summer?
Lauren:
Uh, yeah.
Whitney:
Will you be here this summer?
Lauren:
I don’t know if I’m gonna stay in my apartment.
Whitney:
Oh really?
Lauren:
Me and Jason were looking at places over in like Malibu.
Whitney:
Oh my gosh.
Lauren:
So…just for the summer like to live closer to the water not as much in the
city.
Whitney:
You’re really getting a beach house with Jason?
Lauren:
I’m still trying to figure out what I’ll do.
Whitney:
As relaxed as summer’s supposed to be, it always makes me kinda stressed out
‘cause I feel like I have to get some sort of job. So what if you were, you
know, got your own little beach thing, what will Heidi do? Will Heidi stay in
the apartment?
Lauren:
I don’t know.
Whitney:
You haven’t spoken to her about it yet huh?
Lauren:
No I mean like she knows that we went looking and stuff but like that was
before her and Jordan broke up.
Whitney:
Yeah.
Lauren:
Like when we went to go look at places it was kinda like ‘Oh it’s fine, I’ll
just live with Jordan this summer’.
Whitney:
Right.
Lauren:
But…I’m not sure anymore.
CUT TO: Quixote Studios
Heidi
is talking to Audrina about her break-up with Jordan.
Audrina:
So what happened last night?
Heidi:
It was so hard. Like that’s just the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.
Audrina:
For the next couple of weeks Heidi, it’s gonna be hard.
Heidi:
I know. It’s just so sad. It’s like it’s over. I just have to be really careful
with my heart right now.
Audrina:
Yeah you’re gonna deal with your feelings and…you know? I know it’s gonna be so
different now. I’ve never seen you without a boy.
Heidi:
I know.
Audrina:
To see that crazy Heidi in you.
Heidi:
I just have to stop thinking about it.
Audrina:
At least I got my little buddy back.
Heidi:
Yeah.
Audrina:
I’ll have someone to hang out with all the time.
Heidi:
I can’t even imagine.
Audrina:
We should start tonight.
Heidi:
I am starting tonight.
Audrina:
Okay good.
Heidi:
Tonight is the first night of my new life.
Audrina:
I haven’t been out in so long.
Heidi:
I can go out every night now. (They laugh)
It
cuts to the night view of LA, showing people going out to clubs.
