Previously on The Hills…

Lauren: (V.O.) I got into deep trouble at Teen Vogue, all because of Heidi.

Lisa: We have to talk about the party. Your friends behavior? I heard that they were quite drunk and had a fight.

Lauren: I’m sorry.

Lauren: (V.O.) Brian had his sights set on Audrina and was about to make his move.

Brian: I wanna hang out with like me, you, Heidi and Audrina.

Jordan: Ah-ha! Of course you do, of course you do.

Lauren: (V.O.) Heidi and I were supposed to go to fashion school together.

Heidi: Um, I didn’t finish.

Lauren: (V.O.) But she dropped out.

Heidi: I got a job!

Lauren: Good for you.

Lauren: (V.O.) Now Heidi was about to realize that her party job might be such a party after all.

CUT TO: Hillside Villas

Lauren is getting ready for work when Heidi comes in.

Heidi: Hi.

Lauren: Hi.

Heidi: What are you doing?

Lauren: Getting ready for work.

Heidi: I like what you have on. I think that’s really cute. You’re not really mad at me about not going to school anymore, are you?

Lauren: It’s kinda like weird ‘cause it’s like the reason you came to LA was to go to school. But I guess when like other opportunities come up you gotta take ‘em.

Heidi: I really am excited though for my job.

Lauren: What are you excited to do, like…?

Heidi: I don’t know, it just seems like it’ll be like, like running around all the time being really busy and meeting celebrities and being in the clubs and like…I’m so excited.

Lauren: Good you should be excited. You know you are going to have to work though.

Heidi: I know, I know.

Lauren: I know I have to do homework tonight. I have that big school assignment. Luckily like I’m not working too late so I, I can come home and do it.

Heidi: Oh my god I don’t even know what to wear to this job like do I wear heels do I…?

Lauren: Always dress nicer than you think you should.

Heidi: It’s my first real job.

CUT TO: Teen Vogue Offices

Lauren is sorting out clothes when the phone rings. Lauren answers it.

Lauren: Hello?

Blaine: Hey.

Lauren: Hi.

Blaine: It’s Blaine.

Lauren: Hi.

Blaine: Can you come down to my office when you have a second?

Lauren: Yeah.

Blaine: Okay thanks. (They hang up. It cuts to Lauren going into Blaine’s office)

Lauren: Hey.

Blaine: Hi. Have a seat. (She sits down) Um, so, you know when you got this job I told you there’d be lots of work.

Lauren: Yeah.

Blaine: And um, so sometimes you end up being somewhat of a messenger. So there is a dress that needs to get to New York and you need to get it there. The company’s taking care of it, they’re talking to travel right now, you’re gonna be on a red eye tonight.

Lauren: Seriously?

Blaine: Yeah. Um, at this point I have no idea how long you’re gonna be there for.

Lauren: Oh.

Blaine: Get this dress to Lisa, it’s Fashion Week, that’s about it. Get outta here, go pack.

Lauren: Okay.

Blaine: You’re done, yeah, go.

Lauren: (Takes the dress) I’ll guard it with my life. Bye!

Blaine: Bye. (She runs out and leaves)

CUT TO: Quixote Studios

Audrina is working when Brian comes in.

Brian: Hello!

Audrina: Hi!

Brian: How are you?

Audrina: Good how are you?

Brian: You’re probably like “What the heck is he doing here?”

Audrina: I know this is a surprise.

Brian: I saw this huge billboard Quixote. And uh, yeah. I was like right down the street.

Audrina: Cool.

Brian: Yeah.

Audrina: It’s a surprise.

Brian: So this is where you work.

Audrina: This is where I work.

Brian: Am I gonna get you in trouble?

Audrina: No I’ll show you around. (She gets up) This is one of our stages. (She opens a door and they walk around)

Brian: This is all for photo shoots, right?

Audrina: Yeah they do all the photo shoots they do commercials, they’re doing a Maximum shoot.

Brian: Oh really?

Audrina: Yeah.

Brian: Wow I came to visit you on the right day.

Audrina: I know you get to see all the girls. And this is like all stage managers and then this is the wardrobe room for stage three.

Brian: Do the models get mad that the receptionist is hotter?

Audrina: Aw. (They get back to Audrina’s desk) This is pretty much it.

Brian: Well thanks for showing me around.

Audrina: It was a good surprise.

Brian: Well I was gonna ask you if maybe you wanted to get um, do something tomorrow night, I don’t know.

Audrina: Okay.

Brian: Maybe go out to dinner, you know?

Audrina: I work till 6 and then…you wanna go at like 7:30 or 8?

Brian: I usually don’t get out of bed till 6 anyway so that’s perfect.

Audrina: You suck. (They laugh)

CUT TO: Hillside Villas

Heidi is on the couch reading a book when Lauren comes in with the dress for Lisa Love.

Lauren: Hi. (Comes in and shuts the door)

Heidi: Hi. (Shuts her book) What is that? (She stands up)

Lauren: (Lies the dress on a table) It’s a dress.

Heidi: You brought me a present? I love you!

Lauren: No I have to bring Lisa Love a present, in New York. (Lauren screams as she goes in her room. She takes off her shoes)

Heidi: What?

Lauren: I’m going to New York. My car comes in an hour.

Heidi: You’re gonna get ready in an hour? So what time does your flight leave?

Lauren: I don’t know. She just said…he’s like “ A car will be there at 7”. I have a suitcase.

Heidi: The pink one?

Lauren: Yeah. (She goes in a closet and gets it) I’m like “How long am I there for?” He’s like “Well…” he’s like “It could be a day or it could be five days”. I’m like…

Heidi: It could be five days?

Lauren: Yeah I don’t know what to wear on the plane.

Heidi: Why don’t you bring a change of clothes so you can sleep in them and then right before you get off the plane or in the bathroom in the airport you can change.

Lauren: What do you wear to like a show?

Heidi: You wear the designer.

Lauren: You…you’re supposed to wear whatever…?

Heidi: Yeah don’t get too dressed up though. You’re gonna have so much fun. You’re working there for like two days and you’re already like jet setting. Geez! (She laughs)

Lauren: Okay seriously. Oh my god. (Cuts to Lauren leaving) Okay I’ll call you when I get there.

Heidi: K.

Lauren: Bye.

Heidi: Bye. (Lauren leaves and Heidi shuts the door. It cuts to outside. The driver puts her stuff in the car and she gets in the car. He drives her to Los Angeles International Airport. He opens the door for her and she gets out.)

Lauren: Thank you. (She goes in with the airport with her suitcase and the dress.)

Heidi and Audrina go in the Jacuzzi outside the apartments.

Heidi: Oh that feels so good.

Audrina: It is so hot.

Heidi: It feels so good.

Audrina: Brr!

Heidi: What about Brian?

Audrina: Brian? I don’t know. Hopefully it’ll be better than Dave.

Heidi: Oh my god, disaster.

Audrina: Oh my god.

Heidi: Okay, every guy who’s not like not from LA, who’s from like North Carolina or wherever are like “I’m such a good guy”. And that’s just not like their front. They just say that ‘cause they can get away with it.

Audrina: See I haven’t met any guys who’ve said that.

Heidi: Guys, who would hit on Lauren or any of our friends, they’d be like “I’m a really good guy just looking for a good girl”.  You’re like “No, you’re really a d**k looking to get laid”. (Audrina laughs) That’s all they really want.

Audrina: So how’s school?

Heidi: I dropped out.

Audrina: No way.

Heidi: Because why would I go to school when I already got my dream job? I was just like “This is just not what I wanna do at all”.

Audrina: Is Lauren still going there?

Heidi: Yeah she does. But it’s just you know school’s not right for everybody.

Audrina: I know I dropped out too.

Heidi: I know.

Audrina: I was going to OCC and I went for half a semester.

Heidi: That’s what made me feel good. I was like “If Audrina can do it, I can do it”. I mean Lauren thinks I should go but it’s like that’s what right for her, not what’s right for me.

Audrina: Do something that you wanna do. You’re gonna benefit from it.

Heidi: Yeah.

Audrina: And meet so many people.

Heidi: I just wanna get us into clubs.

Audrina: Yeah! So many parties. That is so cool that Lauren got sent to New York.

Brent: Good, good. How’s it goin’?

Heidi: Good thank you.

Brent: Sit down, sit down. (Heidi sits down) You ready to work?

Heidi: I’m ready I’m so nervous.

Brent: We gotta get a couple things clear. You’re gonna assist the whole company right now like the events department needs help with something, if they need you to go, you know, run somewhere and pick up something that we’re gonna need.

Heidi: Right.

Brent: Like today I’m gonna have you help them with the mailing. Whatever they…whatever the mailing department does over there, I don’t really know, but you’re gonna work Monday through Friday, so whenever we kind of need you to do…

Heidi: I didn’t know if um, it was like full time, I thought that when you hired me it was part time. I didn’t really know.

Brent: You’re gonna work everyday.

Heidi: Okay.

Brent: So the way we work is, you sink or swim.

CUT TO: Mailing Room

Brett, guest list manager, is leading Heidi into the room.

Brett: All right so you just grab a seat right here. All we’re doing is uh, (Heidi sits down) we’re stuffing this envelopes um, two per envelope and um, later we’ll have to seal ‘em too, that’s it.

Heidi: Okay. (She starts stuffing envelopes. She looks over at her desk, where she thought she would be all day. She starts talking to the girl next to her) Do you guys work here or are you interns?

Girl: I’m an intern.

Heidi: So what do you wanna do?

Heidi: Well it’s not what I thought it was gonna be. Now they’re saying its full time from like 9-6. It’s so boring. I’m stuffing envelopes. This was my nightmare of a job.

Lauren: You gotta give it more than one day.

Heidi: I know. How’s New York?

Lauren: Um good, I just um, went and delivered the dress and I’m leaving right now, I’m going straight back to LA.

Heidi: I can’t believe they just put you on a plane like that.

Lauren: They treat it like an errand like flying across the country is no big deal to them it’s like going down the street and picking up photocopies. (She laughs) Plus I have that big school assignment due tomorrow.

Heidi: We’re both having bad days.

Lauren: I just don’t know how I’m gonna do this like and school.

CUT TO: Bolthouse Offices

Heidi is on her computer.

Heidi: Hey Landon, do you think I could speak to Brent for a minute?

Landon: Yeah go on in.

Heidi: Thanks. (She gets up and goes into Brent’s office) Okay so I wanted to talk to you. I didn’t know that it was like full time, I thought that when you hired me it was part time.

Brent: When I spoke to you on the phone that day you were like “I’m not in school”.

Heidi: Right.

Brent: Here’s the deal: we have a real job. We’re gonna count on you, it’s like you being here full time is what is best for us because then you’re consistently here all the time. We need you and we want you and we want to make sure that you are 100% committed to wanting to be here.

Heidi: Okay I didn’t know that and coming in, I just kinda thought that it was a little bit different and I didn’t really realize that like, like I want to do it and I’m excited to do like all the events and stuff and you know, I thought that, that’s part of what I wanna do with my life but I just didn’t really understand that it was gonna be stuffing envelopes.

Jen: If you wanna be a part of this you have to be committed to it, particularly if you’re gonna get involved more in the nightclub aspect.

Heidi: So then…

Jen: You gotta crawl before you walk.

Brent: If you’re gonna come here and work, we need you to work.

Heidi: K.

Waiter: Only women order that.

Brian: Only women? Oh!

Waiter: A gay man.

Audrina: We can switch.

Brian: So wait, what’s the manliest drink on the menu?

Waiter: Why don’t you try a glass of saki?

Brian: A glass of saki? I’m gonna go with the green apple soshu.

Waiter: Green apple soshu?

Brian: Because I’m secure with my manhood.

Waiter: Okay.

Brian: And do me a favor.

Audrina: Like seven or eight months. How long have you lived here?

Brian: Um, about six months I’d say. How’s your job going? You told me you wanted to do something different right?

Audrina: I, I love it there and it’s…I love all the people there but I wanna get a part time job.

Brian: Yeah everytime we do anything I always feel bad for you because you always have to work.

Audrina: I know. I wanna do like work part time, then get an agent and go to acting school during the day and then go to castings and…
