Next day. John is out on balcony squatting on ledge. Kathleen walks up and stands next to him.

Kathleen: John. Something's wrong, isn't it?

He doesn't answer.

Kathleen: You haven't seen Jane Porter in a while. This wouldn't have asomething to do with her, would it?

Tarzan/John: She doesn't want to see me.

Kathleen: She said that?
Tarzan/John: No.

Kathleen: Then how do you know?

Tarzan/John: When I am with her, she is sad.

Kathleen: She cares about you. She wouldn't have gone through all this trouble if she didn't care.

Tarzan/John: Then why do I make her unhappy?

Kathleen: People can feel two different things at once, even opposite things.

Tarzan/John: I only feel one thing.

He looks to her.

Tarzan/John: Why can't Jane?
Jane has her gun drawn. She steps into an open area in an alley and looks around aiming her gun. She does a full circle. When she puts her back to the opening, a man takes a long two by four and hits her knocking her down face first.. Her gun skids out of reach. She looks to him, then goes for her gun when he hits her again. She hits a garbage can. He tosses the board and comes up to her.  He pulls a knife and opens it. She looks at the rooftops and sees she is alone. She gets up, takes his arm that has the knife, and pulls him forward ramming his head into a garbage bin. He yanks her to her feet and tosses her aside. She hits road construction barrels. She throws one at him. He catches it and tosses it aside. As he does, she grabs a glass bottle and hits him across the forehead. It breaks. The impact dazes him. She kicks him in the stomach. She grabs his arm puts it behind his back, bends him over, and knees him in the chest. She lets go and kicks him with the side of her foot in his face. He topples onto his back. Sam rushes over with his gun drawn. Jane looks to him.

Jane: Where the hell have you been?

Sam: Damn. You do this all by yourself?

He asks as he puts his gun away and glances around a moment.

Jane: Yeah (wipes at bottom lip) all by myself.

Traffic view.

Sam: I knew it.

Jane: What?

Sam and Jane walking down sidewalk.

Sam: You. You actually miss the guy.

Jane: I do not.

Sam: Look. This is what you wanted. You told him 'stay away, stay away, stay away'. He stays away. I mean, you should be happy.

Jane: I'm thrilled.

She says with what sounds like sarcasm and no smile.

Sam: Well, then what's the problem?

Jane: Look, Sam, there's no problem. It's just. Everything with John it was exciting, it was scary.

Sam stops her. She turns and faces him.

Jane: I'm going through a little adrenaline withdrawl but-

Sam: Okay. But, you want excitement? Go bungy jump.

She smiles.

Sam: But stay the hell away from John Clayton.

Jane: I plan on it, I plan on it.

Sam: No, Jane. Promise me.

She stays quiet.

Sam: Promise me.

Jane: Alright. I promise.

Sam: Now you got me all tense again.

Jane's cell phone rings.

Jane: Yeah. Hello?

Richard: Jane Porter. Richard Clayton.

Jane: How did you get this number?

Richard: I want to see you.

Jane: No. I'm busy.

Richard: I spoke to a Mr. Donald Ingram. Apparently, he saw you and John on the roftop and then he saw Michael Foster die. So, when can you come by?
Greystoke building. Day. Richard sitting on a couch. Jane in a chair across from him.

Richard: I was suprised by your story. I mean, John tried to save Detective Foster. It's a good sign. Means he's got humantity. Means maybe we can civilize him. But I'm curious, why not bring Ingram forward?
Jane: I want to protect John.

Richard: From what?
Jane: From other cops. Cops. You.

Richard: But you use a shield over that.

Jane: Look, if this is some kind of blackmail attempt, you can forget it.

She gets up and turns away.

Richard: I don't want to blackmail you, Detective. I'm imperssed with you.

She turns to face him.

Jane: What?
Richard stands up and comes to stand in front of her.

Richard: You did what needed to be done. John shouldn't be mixed up in a cop's death. An unpredictable situation. Too many wild cards. It's better to keep it quiet. You know, you and me, we're starting to think the same way.

Jane: No we're not.

Richard: Why can't we work together? John trusts you. Convince him to come here where I can help him. Then we won't have these problems anymore.

Jane: No.

Richard: Alright, I admit, some mistakes were made. But I love John. I just want him to become the man he's meant to be.

Jane: What's that?

He looks at her as if the answer is obvious.

Richard: A Clayton.

He moves over and opens a box. He pulls out John's neckalce and hands it to Jane.

Richard: He was wearing this when I found him. It was his mother's. I think it was all that reminded him of where he came from and who he really is. Please, at the very least, give it back to him.

Jane takes the nacklace, puts it in her pocket, and walks out. Jane enters her apartment.

Jane: Hey, Nicki. You okay?
Walks up to her.

Nicki: Yeah.

She turns to face Jane.

Nicki: It's not me.

She stands up off stool and faces Jane.

Nicki: It's my friend. You remember Darci?

Jane: Darcie, yeah, yeah. She's a painter.

Nicki: Photographer.

Jane: Sorry.

Nicki paces slightly.

Nicki: I haven't seen her for like four days. I tried calling her but she won't answer her phone. I'm starting to get worried.

Jane: Has she done anything like this before?

Nicki: She has during mid-terms, but never this long.

Jane: You try calling her parents?
Nicki: She's from Ohio somehwere. I'm being stupid, right?

She stops.

Nicki: I mean, she's going to be fine.

Jane stands up and puts her hands on Nicki's shoulders.

Jane: I'm sure she's fine. I will go and check it out. Alright?
Nicki: Thank you.

Jane: You're welcome.

Jane kisses Nicki on the forehead. Precinct. Sam walks up with coffee.

Sam: So was this Darcie girl at her dorm?

Jane: No. None had seen her there for a while either. I got her voicemail code from the college.

They listen to a message.

-Hey Daci, it's me Gary. I don't know why you're not returning my calls. I'm going to come over there right now and we're going to have a great time. We had a plan and you are not gonna break this plan, you understand me? I'm  coming over right now Dacri and you'd better open the door.

End of message.

Jane: We're gonna need some help.

She says as Sam and Jane look at one another.

A missing person flier of Darci.

Jane: Yeah, send it out.

Sam: Okay.

Hangs up phone.

Sam: No one matching Darci at the hospitals or the morgues.

A detective at the computer.

Det: Detectives, you should see this.

They come over and see e-mail.

Det: It's the girl's e-mail account.

Jane: Raptor?

Sam: Check out the last one.

He reads from the e-mail.

Sam: Dear Darci, just got your pictures in the mail. You're beautiful. Can't wait to meet you tomorrow. In Person.

Det: That was a week ago Tuesday. She hasn't used her computer since.

Sam: Get me an e-mail trace on this raptor guy asap.

Det: It could take a while.

Jane enters overgrown greenhouse.

Jane: John? You here?

She steps in. He crouches on upper level looking down at her. She turns and sees him.

Tarzan/John: Why are you here?

Jane: I have something for you.

She pulls his necklace out and holds it out to him. He looks at it. He looks up, grabs a bar above her, swings over her head, lands on another bar. She turns around. He backflips and lands first squatting, then stands and steps toward her. He takes the necklace.

Tarzan/John: Where did you get it?

Jane: Your Uncle.

Tarzan/John: But he wants to hurt me.

Jane: True. But I also think deep down underneath it all a part of him cares for you too.

He puts the necklace on.

Tarzan/John: Thank you.

He begins to walk away.

Jane: Um John.

He stops, but doesn't turn around to face her.

Jane: Look, I know that I told you to stay here hidden and everyuthing and that's right, but if you wanted to come by every once in a while so that I know you're safe.

He looks at her over his shoulder.

Tarzan/John:  You want me to stay here or not?

Jane: I do, it's just-

Her cell phone rings.

Jane: Oh, hold on.

She puts her back to John.

Jane: Porter.

Sam: Where are you?

Jane: Eating lunch. What's up?

Sam: CCS just located the owner of that e-mail address.

Jane: Raptor.

Sam: We got a warrant. You coming?

She hangs up and turns to John.

Jane: I gotta go.

He walks away. She leaves. Jane knocks on glass door.

Jane: Gary Lang. NYPD Open up.

Manager opens the door. Sam enters first.

Sam: NYPD. NYPD. Go.

Jane steps in. They split and search rooms.

Sam: Where you at Gary? You in here?

Opens door. Sam and Jane regroup in the living room near the front door.

Sam: Clear.

Jane: Same.

A woman with groceries steps in.

-Excuse me.

Jane and Sam turn to her.

Jane: Darcie?

Jane talking with Darci sitting across from one another with Sam standing nearby.

Darci: I am so embarrased. You thought I was kidnapped?

Jane: We hoped you were only kidnapped. We thought you might be dead.

Sam: So who's the guy?

Darci: That's Gary. We've been talking and i.m.'ing for weeks.

Sam hands Jane a picture.

Darci: Then we finally hooked up. I know it sounds weird and I'm not the cut loose tyupe either, but I couldn't help myself. I fell in love. You know when it's all butterfiles and adrenaline and whatever.

Darci says looking to Jane. Gary steps in.
Gary: What's going on?

Darci: Gary. You're not going to believe this.

She stands and goes to him.

Sam: Hi. I'm Detective Sam Sulllivan. This is my partner, Detective Porter.

Darci: She's Nicki's sister. Nicki was worried about me.

Gary: Nicki called the police?

He scoffed smiling. Darci smiles at him.

Darci: She was just worried when she couldn't find me.

Sam: Nothing to worry about.

Gary: Oh I'm not worried.

He wraps his arm around Darci's neck, kisses her forehead, and grips tight her shoulder. Darci's smile fades as she looks to the floor. Sam and Jane look at one another a moment.

Jane: Well, the next time you decide to drop off the face of the earth, just let someone know, alright?

Jane smiles at Darci. Darci smiles back.

Darci: I know. I feel terrible. It's all my fault. I should have told people. I'll be calling my Mom and Dad as soon as we're done and I'll be calling Nicki too.

Gary grips Darci's shoulder as she talks.

Jane: Well, sorry to bother you.

Gary: No problem.

Sam and Jane leave. Gary turns and watches them leave, then turns and looks at Darci standing a couple steps away. Sam and Jane step out the main door.

Sam: Oh, there's something about this guy. I got the vibe, you got the vibe? You gotta tell me you're vibing this guy, right?
Jane doesn't respond. Her mind on something else.

Sam: Hello? Jane? Where you at? We working the same case here?

Jane: Yeah, yeah.

Sam: You feeling this guy? Doesn't he fit the abuser profile the way he's all over her trying to cut her off from the rest of the world?

Jane: He fits a profile.

They walk to Sam's car. They both open the doors.

Sam: We should check for priors.

Jane: We should find his last girlfriend.

They get in the car and buckle up. Sam starts the car.

Sam: You know what I don't understand? I don't understand why these smart girls go for these dangerous guys. Are they bored, hot bothered, or just stupid?

Jane: Why you asking me?

She asks somewhat snappy. Sam raises his eyebrows and faces forward.

Sam: No reason.

They drive away. Jane's place. Nicki follows Jane as she walks to a nearby table.

Nicki: You said Darci would be okay. Now she's with some shady guy downtown and you're just going to let her stay there?

Jane: Nicki, she's over 18 and she is there by choice. Now look, I'll check the guy out, but legally I'm out of options.

Nicki: I can't believe this.

Jane: Nicki, what do you want me to do?

Nicki: More.

Jane holds Nicki's shoulders.

Jane: Look, I know this is hard. Just be patient.

Afternoon sky. Computer tracker.

Richard: So is that tracker device working?

Nash: Well, it's definately him wearing the neacklace. No one moves across the city like that.

Richard: Well he needs to sleep sometime. When he does, pick him up.

Nash: Well, he did settle in one location last night. For several consecutive hours as a matter of fact.

Richard: Where?

Nash: I don't think you're going to like it.

Richard: Where?
Nash: East side of Central Park. Your sister's house.

Richard turns away.

Richard: You positive?

Nash: Yes.

Richard: Turn it off.

Nash: Would you like me to keep tracking him?

Richard: I said turn it off. I know everything I need to know.

Jane at precinct at desk phone.

Jane: That's right. L-a-n-g-e. Alright. Try an alternate spelling. How about without the 'e'?
Sam puts a stack of files on her desk.

Jane: Okay. Thank you.

She hangs up.

Sam: I run the guy through NCIC, State and local, FBI, CADV. Nothing. No arrests, no warrants, not even a parking ticket.

He sits down at his desk across from Jane.

Jane: Alright. We gotta be missing an angle. What did we overlook?

Sam: Maybe our angle is he's clean.

Jane: Maybe.

She sees a newspaper someone has. She goes up and snags it.

Jane: Excuse me.

She sits on the edge of Sam's desk.

Jane: Sam, what NBA team is the Raptors?

Sam: Toronto, why?

Jane: Remember the e-mail address? What if Gary's from Toronto? If he had a police jacket up there-

Sam: It wouldn't show up in our system.

Jane: Who's got the number to the Toronto P.D.?

Nicki in bathrobe standing in front of Jane's mirror in Jane's room. She is listening to headphones at a loud volume. She holds a shirt up to her chest looking in a mirror.

Nicki: Looks better on me anyway.

John lands on the window ledge. Nicki turns around and screams. John falls out of sight. Nicki runs up to see if he had actually fallen. John gets back up on the ledge startling Nicki again. Nicki screams again, then leans on the end of the bed.

Nicki: You scared me to death. Okay, 18 years old and having a heart attack.

John looks at her a little confused tipping his head to the side slightly.

Nicki: Not good.

She steps away from the bed and towards him offering her hand to shake his.

Nicki: So, I take it you're John. I'm Nicki.

John looks past her to the fallen headphones, then looks at Nicki.

Tarzan/John: I know.

He steps down and slowly walks over to the headphones. He cirlces them once, then squats and picks up the headphones. Nicki turns around and steps towards him.

Nicki: It's music.

He brings it up and listens, then quickly pulls it away hearing a loud sound all of a sudden.

Tarzan/John: It's loud.

Nicki: Yeah. I guess I'm blowing off some steam.

He stands and steps up to her looking in her eyes still holding the headphones.

Tarzan/John: You're worried.

Nicki: That obvious, huh?

She walks around him to the dresser.

Nicki: Yeah. I'm worried about my friend.

Tarzan/John: Why?

He asks turning to face her.

Nicki: She's with this guy who may be hurting her.

She turns to face him.

Nicki: Jane's doing all she can but I'm not sure if it's enough. I don't know what to do.

Tarzan/John: She needs help. I'll help her.

Nicki: You mean now?
Tarzan/John: Yeah.

Nicki: Let me get dressed. I'm coming with you.

She leaves rounding the corner of the doorway as she goes. John brings the headphones back up to his ear, then sees Nicki standing at the doorway.

Nicki: Thank you, John.

He nods once with a slight smile.

Jane and Sam at station walking downstairs. Sam is in front of her reading as she talks.

Jane: June 2002, Gary Lang meets a 20 year old woman in a chat room tries to lure her into a relationship. Then that.

Sam: He tries to leave, suspect threatens her with physical violence.

They stop after getting off the bottom of the stairs.

Jane: No, lower.

Sam: Victim was found dead in the woods outside the city. Investigating officer suspected murder but lacked sufficent evidence to file charges.

Jane: Yeah.

Sam: Let's go.

John is perched on underpass. Watches Nicki and Darci stop in front of door to apartment building.

Nicki: I just want to meet the guy. What's wrong with meeting him?

Darci: This isn't a good time.

Nicki: What? I can't come inside?

Darci: Gary's just really intense about us. I mean, I've never had anybody love me this much before. But I guess it's just hard for other people to understand.

Gary steps out. John sees him.

Gary: So, this must be Nicki.

He looks her from head to toe.

Darci: Yeah. Nicki, this is Gary.

John climbs down.

Gary: Thanks for calling the cops, Nicki.

Darci: I'll see you later, okay?

Takes Gary's arm in an effort to head inside.

Nicki: Darc, come with me. I just want to talk to you.

Gary: See Darci, what did  I tell you? They say they're your friends, but what do you they do? The first sign that you might actually be happy-

Nicki: She doesn't look happy to me.

Nicki snaps. John steps around a beam and watches through a fence.

Gary: Really. What's that supposed to mean, Nicki?

Darci: Guys, please.

Gary grabs Darci's arm and shoves her in.

Gary: Come on.

Darci: Okay, take it easy. I'm coming.

Nicki: Darci, wait.

Gary opens the door to the apartment, then shoves Darci in.

Gary: What did I tell you?

He closes the door. Darci tumbles knocking a painting down. She gets up.

Darci: I'm sorry, Gary.

Nicki knocks on the door.

Gary: Leave us alone!

Darci: Go away please. She's just trying to be my friend.

Gary: She's not your friend!

He backhands her knocking her into a shelf.

He quickly comes up to her.

Gary: Darci, I just don't want you to see her anymore, okay? Don't you understand?

John crashes through the glass door, does a foward roll, and stops in a squat. Darci sees him. Gary turns and sees him. Nicki opens the door and steps in. John leaps up and knocks Gary back into a shelf. He pulls him forward and slams him against a portable curtain.

Nicki: John no!

John throws Gary. Gary lands on a coffee table that breaks due to impact. John grabs onto a plant hanging above, swings a moment, then lands next to Gary. He begins to beat on Gary.

Darci: Stop it!

Sam and Jane pull up. Darci comes up and tries to shove John away. John steps back.

Darci: What's wrong with you?

Jane and Sam rush in. John tries to get Darci to move so he can get to Gary. Sam rushes over. Jane goes to Nicki.

Jane: What are you doing here? Are you alright?

Nicki: I'm fine.

Sam: Hey, relax.

Darci takes a seat. Sam get's Gary up.

Jane: John, that's enough!

Jane shoves John back away from Gary.

Tarzan/John: No, he'll hit her again.

Jane: No he won't I won't let him. That's enough, John that's enough.

She takes him to a back room.

Sam: I'm gonna need statements from everybody.

Darci passes Nicki.

Nicki: I'm sorry.

Darci just leaves.

Jane: How did you even get here?

Tarzan/John: I came with Nicki?

Jane: You what?
Tarzan/John:  She wanted to help her friend.

Jane:  Alright. You need to listen to me. I do not want you anywhere near my little sister. She is not a cop. She can't protect herself like I can.

Tarzan/John: I would never harm Nicki.

Jane: I know you would never mean to, John, but sometimes you can't help yourself and you loose control like you did that night with Michael on the roof. Look, get out of here before more cops come. Go, John. Please.

Jane walks away leaving John to stand there.

Night. Precinct. Jane's desk. Jane sitting. Darci sitting. Sam standing.

Darci: I just want to see Gary.

Jane: Gary's fine. Just a few cuts and bruises.

Sam: Gary's in a holding cell where he belongs.

Walking around Darci.

Darci: What? And your psyco friend just gets to go free?

Jane: Darci, you're getting angry at the wrong people. Gary battered you.

Sam sits on edge of desk next to Darci.

Sam: And we need you to press charges so we can make sure he doesn't do that again.

Darci: Gary would never hurt me on purpose. What happened today, he was upset and scared because of you.

Sam: Why don't you show her what we know?
Jane: This is from the police department in Toronto. That's what happened to Gary's last girlfiend.

Showing her a picture of a bruise-faced dead woman.

Darci: I already know about this.

She hands the photo back.

Darci: Gary told me what they tried to do to him. He had nothing to do with that.

Jane: Come on, Darci, you're smarter than that.

Darci: You can say whatever you want, I'm not going to press charges.

Darci stands. Jane stands with her.

Jane: Alright, then at least protect yourself. I could help you get a restraining order.

Darci: I want to go home.

Night. Kathleen's house. A knock at the door. Kathleen walks over to see Richard step in.

Kathleen: Richard. What are you doing here?

Richard: Where is he?

Kathleen: I asked you a question.

Richard: And I answered it.

Kathleen: I don't even know what you're-

Richard turns to her.

Richard: Don't start that sharade with me.

He turns and looks upstairs.

Richard: Is he upstairs?

He heads upstairs. Kathleen follows.

Kathleen: Rickard, what's this all about?

As she follows him upstairs.

They enter the greenhouse. Richard takes a look, then looks to Kathleen. He steps away from her and finds a shirt and a partially eaten apple. He turns to her.

Richard: This is where you've been hiding him?

Kathleen: Me? You didn't even tell me he was alive.

Richard walks past her. She turns to him.

Kathleen: You kept him locked it a cage.

He turns back to her and takes a step towards her.

Richard: I saved his life. I kept looking long after you gave up.

He takes another step towards her.

Richard: I found him filthy and alone in that jungle and I saved him.

Kathleen: You brought him back to get what you've wanted for 20 years. It was all about control of Greystoke and it still is now.

John jumps down behind Richard near balcony doors and stays in a crouched position on all fours. Richard turns around and sees John.

Richard: John.

Tarzan/John: Leave.

Richard: Listen, I want to help you. I know what you want.

John leaps on all fours once, then stands upright and get's in Richard's face.

Tarzan/John: I said leave.

He says slightly angry.

Richard: You want Jane.

John paces slightly.

Richard: But you'll never get her like this. John, look at yourself. Look at the way you live. You're like a wild animal. You'll never belong in this world, you'll never have a place next to Jane until you change. I knew your Father.

John growls slightly as he paces slightly.

Richard: I knew him better than anyone else in the world. I know who he'd want you to be.

John stops pacing.

Richard: Come with me. I love you. I just want to help you.

He makes eye contact with Richard, looks to Kathleen, then back at Richard,.

Tarzan/John: No.

Richard: Please, just give me a chance.

Tarzan/John: Never.

Richard: Why?

Tarzan/John: I see what you are and I hate you.

Richard looks to Kathleen, then leaves. Kathleen looks to John as if she is about to say something, but John jumps up in the plants above out of sight. Richard walks to his waiting vehicle and gets in.

Nash: No luck?

Richard: She's poisoned him against me. How's Mr. Ingram enjoying his stay with us?

He asks as he rubs his left eyebrow.

Nash: He's not. He's litterally climbing the walls. I'm not sure how much longer we can hold that guy.

Richard looks to Nash.

Richard: You explained to him it was for his own safety, right? A witness to murder. That his life could be in jeopardy.

Nash: Well, he didn't say he saw a murder.

Richard: Didn't he?

Nash: Says Foster's death was an accident. As a matter of fact, he saw Michael lunge at your nephew.

Richard raises his hand off his eyebrow stopping Nash in sentence.

Richard: No. That's not the way I heard it.

He then goes back to rubbing his eyebrow.

Richard: Perhaps we should talk to him again. Just to verify the facts.

Next day. Precinct. Jane walks in carrying two cups of coffee. She heads down the interogation room hall and sees Gary step out. They make eye contact. Slow motion. They keep eye contact and he gives a half smile as he passes and she stops. Jane and Gary hold eye contact a moment longer before Gary breaks it turning his back to her and walks out. Jane watches him go. Sam comes up.

Sam: Lieutenant won't let us hold him.

Jane turns to Sam.

Jane: Why? He saw the Toronto file.

Jane turns back to Gary as he walks out the doorway.

Sam: Dacri won't testify. We got no case. There's nothing we can do.

Jane: Yeah there is.

She says giving a half smile. She follows Gary out.

Jane: Hey Gary, hold up.

Gary continues as he crosses the street. Jane follows.

Gary: Stay away from me.

John watches from a rooftop above them.

Gary: Unlesss you want a lawsuit.

Jane: You're not gonna see Darci ever again. I'm gonna be all over you twenty four seven. I'm gonna re-open that Toronto case.

They step onto the sidewalk. Gary stops and faces her a minute.

Gary: What's the matter with you?

Jane: I know who you are. You are someone so small and so tiny on the inside you need to dominate a woman to feel big.

Gary: You're nuts.

He walks away. Jane jogs up and stops in front of him facing him.

Jane: You're not scared of me, are you Gar? Come on, you got what? Sixty pounds on me? Let me have it.

She steps closer.

Jane: Like that girl you killed, right? She didn't think you were man enough either. Show me what you showed her. Come on, Gar. Come on. Show me what you showed her.

He steps back and turns away a moment. As he raises his arm and turns back to her, John is directly in front of Jane. Gary backs up suprised.

Gary: Stay away from me. Both of you.

He walks around them and continues down the sidewalk.

Jane: Damn it John, I had him.

She turns away, takes a couple of steps, then turns and faces John. John looks to her a little confused.

Tarzan/John: He was going to hurt you.

Jane: John, I just wish for once-

She looks in his eyes.

Jane: Nevermind. Forget it.

Jane walks back across the street. John sees Gary and follows him. Sam is waiting for Jane. Jane comes and leans on a nearby mailbox.

Sam: Good plan. You almost had him. He was just about to swing, until Goldie Locks jumped in.

Jane: He thought he was helping.

She sighed.

Sam: Well, he's got a hair trigger temper and sooner or later you're the one who's gonna end up hurt.

Jane: No, he'd never hurt me. That's not who he is.

Sam: You know who you sound like?

Jane looks to Sam for an answer.

Sam: Darci.

Sam walks in the precinct. Jane thinks a moment. Nicki working on paperwork. A knock at the door.

Nicki: Coming.

She goes to the door and opens it. She sees it's Gary and runs. He grabs her arm, puts her back against the wall.

Gary: Shh. Shh. You and your sister should have minded your own business.

He puts a gun to her neck. Gary speeds down the road.

Nicki: Please, just let me go.

Gary: I'm not like you think, Nicki. I don't want to hurt you. Darci, she didn't come home. She went back to her dorm because of the lies your sister told her.

Nicki pulls her cell phone out of her pants from a side pocket at her thigh. Gary doesn't notice.

Gary: I am so sick of these lies. You're going to talk to Darci and you're going to get her to come back to me.

On phone-Calling Jane.

Jane is looking over paperwork when her cell phone rings. She sets the papers aside and answers.

Jane: Hey, Nicki.

Nicki: Where are you taking me?

Gary: You're going to help me get my life back. The life I had before you and your sister ruined it.

Richard: I'm sorry, but you can't go home until we've reached an understanding.

Donald: I understand. You want me to lie about what I saw.

Richard: Donald, if you don't help us, well, you think you have phobias now. Take him back. Let him think about it some more.

Donald: No. Please don't. Please! Alright! What I saw was a murder. I saw the blonde man murder Detective Foster.

When she looks back, John is gone. She trurns around and sees him standing there. Her eyes widen looking him up and down a second, then she turns to the side.

Jane: Sorry, John. Sorry.

Jane: You followed Gary from the police station after I was so mad. John.

Jane: You know there's a part of you that most people don't see.

Jane: A part that's very kind and very gentle. And I want you to know that I see it and I'm glad that I do.

She touches his face. He touches hers wiping a tear away with his fingertip.
