Scene opens to everyone in the house doing rock paper scissors.

Everyone: One! Two! Three!

Ava: Oh yes I won!

Susannah: Two out of three.  We go two out of three.

Ava: When was the last time we did 2 out of three?

Johnny: The last time she lost.

Susannah: Look, I can't believe I'm gatekeeper 2 years in a row.  I had major plans for this party

Ava: Oh, what plans did you have?

Susannah: Plans I can't talk about infront of a 9 year old. 

Derrick: I'll be 10 soon

Susannah: Nice try sweetheart

Derrick: What's a gatekeeper?

Jay: It is someone who is the keeper of the keys.  So if any one of the guests have too much fun we can make sure they can drive home safely before we give them their keys back. 

Derrick: You mean if they get drunk

Jay: Something like that yeah.  Although according to this list I really don't think we really need a gatekeeper.  Look at this Johnny.

Johnny: What is it? Ava what is this? Wine coolers? 

Susannah: Wine coolers?

Ava: Look, we all agreed the party needed motification. 

Johnny: Yeah, motification is one thing but stripping it of it's soul is a whole other thing

Ava: All I did was dial the party down from NC-17 to PG-13

Johnny: Yeah well try G.  The only thing missing on this list is pin the tail on the donkey.  We need some fruit in that bowl 

Jay: Whatever happened to the good old erotic vegetable contest?  I liked that.

Susannah: 9 year old

Derrick: Never heard of that one

Ava: And you never will

(Nikki enters)

Nikki: Heard of what?

Ava: Nothing nothing nothing. Eat your breakfast.

Susannah: Hey Nikki, is Cameron gonna to come to the party?

Nikki: Hey um yeah, if that's okay with you guys. 

Ava: Sure that's fine. And any other friends you want to invite. 

Johnny: Yeah, just make sure you're always somewhere where one of us can see ya. (Johnny drinks right from the bottle of juice)

Ava: Johnny

Johnny: What? I'm just saying I know what young boys are thinking about.

Ava + Susannah: Hey hey hey!

 
Scene switches to Erika and Bradin getting a smoothie.

 
Erika: Mmmm good call.  Orange squeezy did the trick. 

Bradin: Told ya.

Erika: You know you're getting to the point where you're not going to need a surfing instructor anymore

Bradin: Yeah right

Erika: Seriously, I've been watching you out there.  You're getting your own style and it's good. 

Bradin: You cutting me loose or something?

Erika:  Gotta happen eventually

Bradin: Well I guess you're busy with other things

(They look over at Jay working in his shop)

Erika: Not yet.  Being cautous.  Been down that outback road before

Bradin: So why even bother?

Erika: He risked alot with Tanner and those guys

Bradin: I remember taking a few punches myself

Erika: I haven't forgotten.  You're one of the good guys Bradin.  You're always going to do the right thing.  Jay? Jay does it inspite of himself.  And this time, he came to me. 

Bradin: Well, for what it's worth.  He does seem different

Erika: Like I said, I've been down this road before

 
Scene switches to Ava,  Susannah, and Johnny back at the house

 
Ava: Tracy and Bryant aren't coming. 

Johnny: Yeah, she's scored some big interview in the middle east. 

Ava: That's a shame.  We haven't seen them in a while I thought it would have been nice to catch up. 

Susannah: You liar, they get under your skin just as much as ours.

Ava: That's not true.

Johnny: Yes it is.  C'mon, I love them to death, god knows the 4 of us were unseperable once but there's only so much I can take of her bragging.  And if she brings up that story about the time they stayed at that villa on the island of Capri I'm going to stab myself with a teety torch.

Susannah: What about the crazy thing they did in the hot tub?

Ava: Okay, they could get a little wild.  But the times have changed and the kids are here now so it's probably just as well they're not coming

 
Scene switches to Cameron's and Nikki's camping having a water fight on the beach

 
Guy: Alright alright truce!

Cameron: Alright, another one down!  Not many left that can take us

Nikki: See you guys later

(Cameron and Nikki keep walking and stop when a pretty girl in a bathing suit interupts them)

Girl: Hey Cam.

Cameron: Oh hey, what's up Amber?

(They hug)

Amber: I haven't seen you around.  When'd you get back?

Cameron: A few weeks ago.  I've been hanging with my dad.

Amber: Oh yeah, totally blows about your parents. 

Cameron: Yeah, whatever.

Amber: Can't belive you haven't called.

Cameron: I've been busy

Amber: Doing what?

Cameron: I don't know. Alot of stuff.  Going to camp.

Amber: Harsh. 

Cameron: Well it's not all bad.  Nikki makes it fun.

Amber: Really? You must be good at finger painting. (Nikki and Amber stare at each other) So are you going to be hanging at your mom's all summer?

Cameron: Uh, not for another couple of weeks.

Amber: Too bad.  I guess I'll just have to make my day down to the south side.  See ya.

Nikki: And how do you know her?

Cameron: She lives up by my mom in North Playa Linda.  Let's go. 

 
Scene switches to Ava on the floor cleaning

 
(The doorbell rings)

Ava: Can somebody get that?

(The doorbell rings again)

Ava: Jay! Johnny! Are you guys here?  Of course not, there's work to be done.

(There's a knock on the door)

Ava: Okay, coming! 

(Ava opens the door to see Brian and Tracy)

Bryant : Suprise

Tracy: Hi, we made it

Ava: Tracy.  Bryant. 

 
Scene goes to Bryant and Tracy walking in the house

 
Brian: Great house

Ava: Well we did get very lucky

Brian: Who's the architect?

Johnny: Some australian guy.  Yeah, don't even remember his name

Brian: Must have been a student of Frank Wood Wright.  He's got his imprint all over it.

Ava: :Well honestly all I know is that it fits the 7 of us comfortably and that's saying alot. 

Tracy: It reminds me of that villa we stayed at on the island of Capri.  You would have loved it Ava.  The embassador's summer house. 

Ava: Really? 

(Nikki walks out)

Nikki: Hey, I'm going to go down by the pier and hang out with Cameron, okay?

Ava: Okay but don't forget...

Nikki: I know I know I'll be back in time to help set up

Ava: Alright

(Bradin comes running in with plates)

Johnny: Whoa

Bradin: Going to go meet Erika, catch up on a few waves

Ava: Wait, what about the music lists?

Bradin: Don't worry.  Taken care of

(He leaves)

Ava: But Bradin I-!

Nikki: Coming through! Bye!

Bradin: Not too late okay you guys. Set up!

Ava: Party

Brian: These kids, you've done a good job. They're really lucky. 

Ava: Seriously, we're the lucky ones.  It's working out just fine.

Tracy: Oh my god. I almost forgot.  I've  some great news. 

Ava: Well what is it? What's your great news?

Susannah: I'm on pins and needles.

Tracy: Ava I did it. White house correspondance in Washington.  The producers loved my exclusive with Alan Green Span and they came pounding on my door. 

Johnny: Wow, wow, that's great!

Tracy: Can you belive it?

Johnny: No, no, I can't believe it. 

Ava: Well that really is great news.  I'm very happy for you Tracy. 

Johnny: Smile bigger

 
Scene switches to Ava on the phone

 
Ava: No, you know,  actually make that 20 bottle of crytol.  And can you get me the caviar?

Susannah: Can you hang up?

Ava: 20 ounces?  How many would that serve? No, that's - (Susannah takes the phone) Susannah.

Susannah: What are you doing?

Ava: I was just confirming the party menu.

Susannah: Um it sounds like you're prepping for a party with the president of the united states and uh, news flash, the president isn't coming

Ava: It was just a few items. 

Susannah: Caviar? Okay, the only time you've ever had caviar was at my parent's anniversary party and you puked.

Ava: I was just trying to make sure that everybody was going to have a good time and we're all gonna get-

Susannah: I know what you're trying to do.  You don't need to impress those two. 

Ava: Susannah, Tracy's used to rubbing sholders with heads of state and having all the finer things in life. 

Susannah: And at the end of the day she's still anal-as-ever-Tracy.  She needs to unclench.  You don't need to try and be something you're not.  Your life is every bit exciting as Tracy's.  More so.  C'mon, let's get out there and show them what we've got.  (starts dancing) A little bit of this.  You and the dance floor last year...you were movin'

 
Scene switches to Cameron and NIkki going down to the beach

 
Nikki: So, what's the deal between you and that girl?

Cameron: What? Amber?

Nikki: Is that her name? 

Cameron: Yeah, we're just friends.  I mean, we were kind of more than friends last summer but that was last summer. 

Nikki: She talked to you like she owned you or something.

Cameron: That's just Amber. 

Nikki: Is she always like that?  I mean, with you? 

Cameron: With everything and everybody.  I mean, not in a bad way.  Like I said, it's just her.  I mean, she can be alot of fun.  Wild actually. 

Nikki: So, why aren't you more than just friends this summer?

Cameron: Because I'm hanging with you.  And Amber's all about what she wears and how she looks.  You're not like that.  That's what I like most about you. 

 
Scene switches to the house later that night when the party is going on

 
Bradin: Hey hey hey, it's time to get this party started

(Camera goes to Jay and Susannah at the front door)

Susannah: C'mon you guys get your keys in the basket.  C'mon. 

Jay: As I recall, last year nobody got their keys back until the cops had come and gone and the sun was two hands over yada

Susannah: As I recall, last year you were two thirds of the way through the Wilson triplets.

Jay: Oh yes, gone of the day Susannah.  But it's the dawn of a new era. 

(Camera cuts to Erika)

Susannah: Really? It's that bad? 

Jay: Has hard as I try to go another way I somehow always end up in her wake.

Susannah: What's reeling you back in?

Jay: I think about her even when I'm not with her. And not just the obvious.

Susannah: Wow.  You are gone.

(Camera cuts to Johnny and a guy shaking hands)

Johnny: What's up dude? Aloha.

(Camera goes back to Jay and Susannah)

Susannah: Oh no

(The guys starts walking towards Susannah so Susannah pulls Jay into a kiss)

Guy: You're one lucky guy Jay.  How long you and Susannah been a thing?

Jay: 2 minutes

Susannah: 2 months.  2 wonderful months.

Jay: Months

(Susannah kisses Jay's cheek and Jay looks very confused)

Susannah: Suprised to see you here Dalton.

Dalton: Well you're not the only one who knows where the action's packed in.  I wish I could say I was entirely happy for you Jay but..you know.

Susannah: Yeah well there's drinks are on the patio and there's the dance floor on the beach.  Unfortunately I'm glued here to my position so...(Hugs Jay) Key?

Dalton: All yours. Jay. (leaves)

Jay: Start talking.

 
Scene cuts to Bryant walking over to Ava on the beach

 
Bryant: It's wonderful to see you with these kids.  You're a natural. 

Ava: They make it easy. 

Bryant: As I seem to recall you were the one who all ways made things look easy

Ava: I think that would be your wife

Bryant: My wife Tracy? Nah, she just tries harder than everyone else but you always had the ability to make people feel at ease with whatever they were doing.

Ava: Bryant, I don't care how much you suck up...I'm not letting Bradin play the village people. 

Bryant: What? YMCA? Macho man.  In the Navy.  What they're classics

Ava: Forget it

Bryant: Forget it? 

Ava: Forget it. 

(Song starts playing)

Bryant: This, now this.

Ava:Ohhh you're right.

Bryant: This is a classic

Ava: This is a great one, you're right.

Bryant: Dance? 

Ava: Oh sure

(They start dancing)

Bryant: You do rememeber

(They keep dancing and then eventually kiss)

(Ava is shocked and then realizes that Tracy is watching)

Ava: Oh my god

(Tracy leaves)

 
Scene switches to Jay, Erika, and Susannah at the front door looking at Dalton

 
Susannah: I cannot get back on the Dalton Grant train.  God it took me too long to get off

Erika: Real serious huh?

Susannah: He's just so seductive with his whole lifestyle and I just wnat it more and more...oh god.  Well needless to say he was the kind of guy that doesn't want to committ.

Erika: Mm, been there.

(Jay gives her a look)

Susannah: Yeah. (to Erika) You still don't mind if I borrow your boyfriend for the evening?

Jay: Whoa whoa whoa, on one condition.  I lead.

(Susannah kisses Jay and Erika looks around)

Susannah: Okay, no matter what I say and no matter what I do...do not let me sleep walk off that cliff. 

Erika: Oh you mean like Odisious and the Sirens 

(Jay and Susannah look at each other)

Jay + Susannah: What?

Erika: You know! In book 11 of Homer Johnsy after Odisious escapes from Hadies his ship has to pass by these dangerous rocks but there's these 3 beautiful women called the Sirens who sing this beautiful song that no man can resist.  Only when the sailor's ship hits shore their ships get dashed on the rocks so Odisious tells his men to tie him to the mass and to not let him go no matter how hard he begs him to.  Kind of like that?

Susannah: Yeah, exactly like that. 

 
Scene switches to Ava walking over to Bryant

 
Ava: Bryant?

Bryant: Ava-

Ava: What were you thinking?

Bryant: I thought-

Ava: Did I lead you on or something?  Because whatever signals you read you got them crossed. 

Bryant: I'm sorry, I saw you and we were dancing...

Ava: And what? Seemed like the right time to kiss your wife's closest friend?

Bryant: C'mon, you make it sound like...

Ava: What it was?  What are you doing right now? How come you're not with Tracy?

Bryant: Can't find her

Ava: Yeah, you're trying real hard. 

(Ava walks away)

 
Scene goes to Cameron and Nikki picking out CDs infront of Bradin

 
Cameron: It's cool your aunt's letting us pick songs

Nikki: Yeah, my brother needs all the help he can get

Bradin: Hey

Nikki: Oh, this one's good.

(Cameron looks over at Nikki)

Nikki: What?!

Cameron: Chingy?

Nikki: He's cool

Cameron: Always with the suprises

Nikki: Gotta keep it fresh right?

Amber: Definately

(Nikki and Cameron turn around to see Amber and some friends behind them dressed in a bathing suit and  a jean jacket and nothing more.  Cameron looks her up and down.)

Nikki: This is a private party

Amber: Really?  I guess you should have told Cam that before he invited us.

Nikki: You invited them?

Cameron: Hey, I may have mentioned I was coming here tonight but I don't exactly remember saying the words "you should come"

Amber: If you don't want us here...

(Nikki shakes her head)

(Johnny walks up with Derrick)

Johnny: So how's the music commmmming (Sees the girls and covers Derrick's eyes) Yeah, so so um um are these your new friends Nik?

Nikki: No

Amber: I'm Amber.  This is Carrie and Buffy. 

Johnny: Oh, well you guys make yourselves comfortable. 

(Johnny leaves)

Amber: I guess it would be rude to leave now

Carrie: We could help you pick out some music

Nikki: Actually, no, I think we can manage, thanks.

Amber: Cam, I'm really thirsty.  Do you think you can show me where I can grab a drink

Nikki: Yeah the bar's right over there

Amber: Over where?

Cameron: C'mon, I'll show you

(They leave and Nikki is shocked)

 
Scene cuts to Susannah dancing with a guy

 
(Dalton shows up)

Dalton: May I? Oh I did ask nicely.

(The guy leaves and Dalton and Susannah start dancing)

Dalton: Jay know you're dancing with another guy?

Susannah: Jay is secure enough with himself to know he has nothing to worry about.  

Dalton: About you or me?

Susannah: What are you doing here?

Dalton: You want to tell me another place where I could have found Susannah Rexford tonight?

Susannah: We agreed

Dalton: You agreed.  There was nothing wrong with what we were doing

Susannah: I was a woman of convienience who allowed herself to think she was something more.

Dalton: No, you're always something more. 

Susannah: Maybe on this coast.  But in Atlanta her name was what?

Dalton says something I don't catch

Susannah: Excuse me

(Susannah leaves)

(Susannah is walking up the stairs when Dalton comes up behind her and they lean against a wall)

Susannah: Jay will be here any second

(They kiss and go up the stairs)

 
Scene goes to Tracy sitting on the beach

 
(Ava walks over)

Ava: Here you are, I've been looking all over for you.  Tracy, you didn't see what you think you just saw.

Tracy: Really? Because from my angle it looked exactly like what it was.  You and Bryant. Oh my god.

Ava: No, Tracy. It's me.  You know that's not true. 

Tracy: That I can honestly say I don't know.

(Bryant walks up behind them)

Bryant: You're mad at the wrong person Trace.  None of this is Ava's fault. 

Tracy: Well don't worry, I've got enough anger to go around for the both of you.

Bryant: I got caught in a moment that should never have happened. 

Tracy: Well that's a moment you've been wanting to happen for a very long time

Bryant: Tracy, stop it.

Tracy: Don't tell me what to do.

Ava: Okay, clearly something is going on between you two.  I just want to make it painfully obvious that there is nothing going on between me and Bryant. 

Tracy: You're wrong.  In Bryant's head there's always been something going on.  I'm just here to fill the rest of his time.

Bryant: We'll talk about this later Tracy.

Tracy: Well why not now honey?  Let's just get everything out in the open. 

Ava: Okay um-

(Johnny walks up)

Johnny: Hey is everything alright?

Tracy: Oh there's the grand understatement of the night. 

Johnny: I'm just here to help

Bryant: Johnny to the rescue as usual. 

Ava: This has really gotten out of hand.  If there's something going on between you two...I mean, with your marriage-

Tracy: Wait a minute.  Now it's my fault that you swapped spit with my husband?

(Johnny looks confused)

Tracy: Oh so I guess it was your fault when Johnny and I-

Johnny: Tracy. No. No no.

Ava: What? Tracy no.  What does that mean? Johnny? What does that mean? Tracy no.

Tracy : You and Bryant aren't the first to take advantage of a moment.  Johnny and I did that years ago.  That's right.  When you were together.  The thing is...we didn't just stop at a kiss. 

(Bryant looks down at Tracy)

Ava: Johnny?

(Nobody says anything)

(Bryant leaves)

Tracy: I'll leave you two alone. I'm sure you uh have a lot to talk about.

(Ava leaves)

 
Scene switches to Nikki searching for some different clothes.  Nikki then goes downstairs in a pink shirt that shows alot and a short skirt

 
(She then sees Cameron talking to the other girls but stops when he sees Nikki)

(Nikki walks over to Cameron)

Nikki: Let's dance

(They start dancing)

 
Scene switches to Erika walking over to Bradin who's still being the "disk jockey"

 
Erika: Have you seen Jay, Kansas?

Bradin: Nope

Erika: Have you seen Susannah?

Bradin: Nope

Erika: Me neither. Excuse me.

 
Scene switches to Cameron and Nikki dancing

 
(Nikki smirks as the other girls look on)

Cameron: I'll get us something to drink

Nikki: That would be great

Amber: Nice outfit

Nikki: Thanks

Amber: Of course it's very last year.  But I guess you've got to work with what you've got. 

Nikki: Whatever

Amber: Are you sure you're ready to back up that outfit?

Nikki: Excuse me? 

Amber: C'mon, even in Kansas they know  by the way a girl dresses...the signal she sends out to a boy. 

Nikki: Cam doesn't care about that

Amber: He sure cared about it last year. So what are you going to do when Cam tires of your little school girl games.

Nikki: Don't worry about it.

Amber: I don't.  But you should. 

 
Scene switches to Johnny and Ava in her bedroom

 
Johnny: It was years ago

Ava: Oh so that makes it okay?  I can't believe you never said anything.

Johnny: I didn't want to hurt you.  I was like I was like a kid then.  C'mon. Ava I am really sorry.  It was just a...it was just a...a...it was just uh...

Ava: Inexcuseable?

Johnny: Yes, yes, but what do you want me to say now? Alright, you got lucky you didn't marry me I was unreliable. C'mon Ava what am I saying that you don't know already?

Ava: That you cheated on me.  That's what!

Johnny: Alright, I'm sorry.  I knew it was wrong.

Ava: Well I'm glad you could reclaim the moral high ground there Johnny

Johnny: Ava you mean more to me-

Ava: It was in Cabul wasn't it?

Johnny: A-ava

Ava: That night when Bryant and I went out on the boat and you stayed behind.  Both of you.

Johnny: It wasn't planned. 

Ava: And we're home...what? A week? And you break up with me.  You broke up with me because of Tracy?

Johnny: No! Listen to me, can we just leave the past in the past?

(Ava walks to the door)

Johnny: What we had-

(The door slams shut)

Johnny: Ugh

Scene switches to Derrick and Bradin looking at CDs

 
Bradin: Don't touch that.  I thought Johnny was babysitting you.

Derrick: Yeah, me too.

(Jay walks over)

Jay: Hey, have either of you guys seen Susannah?

Bradin: You mean Erika?

Jay: No, I usually say what I mean.

Bradin: Well I hope so.  I don't think she can take another let down.

Jay: Well, who said that was gonna happen?

Bradin: Past history

Jay: Point well taken.  Right now buddy I've gotta find Susannah.

(Derrick tries to touch the equipment)

Bradin: Touch it and die

Derrick touches it and Bradin goes running after him

 
Scene goes to Dalton and Susannah in Susannah's room kissing on the bed

 
(Jay opens the door)

Jay: Susannah, you swore you were over him

Susannah: Jay, this is not a good time right now.

Dalton: Look man, it's not her fault.  I mean, we had some unfinished business. 

Jay: Whoa whoa whoa whoa, just back it up little man. 

Dalton: Hey

Jay: This is between me and  her

(Susannah is mouthing to Jay to go)

Dalton: C'mon, chill man.  We're all adults here right?

Jay: Susannah, if you have any hope for trying to save what we have...what we had.  Then you'd better come with me right now.

Dalton: You dont' have to go with him.

Jay: Don't you tell her what to do

Susannah: Jay-

Jay: You want this to get ugly?

Susannah: Oh..okay..I'll be right back.  I'll be right back

(Camera goes to Jay and Susannah outside the door)

Jay: You can thank me later sweet kicks.

Susannah: Or I could kill you now.

Jay: What? I was tying you to the mast.  You know the...

Susannah: You couldn't you see we were having a moment?

Jay: Oh! Hmm, crashing on the rocks. That's a moment alright. 

(Jay walks away)

 
Scene goes to Cameron bringing Nikki a drink.

 
Cameron: I can't get over how great you look. 

Nikki: So...you want to come up to my room?

Cameron: Yeah, yeah, sure.  You okay?

Nikki: Yes, I am fine.  Why wouldn't I be? 

Cameron : I'm just asking. 

Nikki: So are you coming or not? 

Cameron: Lead the way.

(They leave)

 
Scene goes to Tracy walking up the stairs and looking for her keys in the basket

 
(Ava walks over)

Ava: Tracy..

Tracy: Don't worry.  I'm leaving. 

Ava: Tracy, how did it come to this? All this craziness.  You and I were friends. 

Tracy: Oh please, it was so obvious between you two.

Ava: Okay, I feel like I've been dropped in the middle of the twilight zone.  I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. 

Tracy: Oh please, the way Bryant always talked about you.  Always looked at you.  Look, let's just say in the 10 years of our marriage...I've never had the privledge.

Ava: So you slept with Johnny as pay back?

Tracy: It would be so easy to say yes.  But the truth is...is we were just stupid and young and hurt. 

Ava: Tracy, I never slept with Bryant.  That thought never even crossed my mind. 

Tracy: Well that doesn't much matter now does it?  What's done is done. 

Ava: Did you atleast ask Bryant?

Tracy: He would never had been able to deny what he felt. 

Ava: Then me.  Why didn't you ask me?

Tracy: And what would you have said?

Ava: I would have told you the truth Tracy.  Like friends are supposed to do. 

(Tracy leaves)

 
The scene goes to Nikki and Cameron entering her room

 
Cameron: Are you sure you're alright?

Nikki: Yeah, why do you keep asking that?

(They sit on the bed)

Cameron: Because you're acting weirder than usual.

Nikki: No weirder than Amber. 

Cameron: She really bugs you.

Nikki: No, not really.  But I didn't bring you up here just to talk about her. 

Cameron: So why did you want to come up?

(They kiss)

Cameron: Oh well that was nice

Nikki: I thought that would have shut you up

Cameron: Well you should have just said so

(That kiss again)

(It starts getting "heavy" so Nikki pulls away)

Nikki: Actually, I forgot, that I wanted to show you this.  (She holds up a book)

Cameron: Are you there God? It's me, Margret.

Nikki: And actually we should probably head back before anyone misses us.

(Nikke leaves and Cameron stares at the book)

 
Scne swithes to Jay and Bradin working the sound equipment.

 
Jay: Whoa, you really do know what you're doing.

Bradin: Find Susannah?

Jay: Well unfortunately, yes.  Unfortunately depending on how you want to look at it.

Bradin: I guess you had to be there, huh?

(Jay sees a pretty girl enter the room and Jay gets scared)

Jay: Oh no no no. (Jay hides behind Bradin)  Bad news

Bradin: What?

Jay: That's one third of the Wilson Triplets

(They look at the girl)

Bradin: Where?

(They look at her)

Bradin: There's 2 more that look like that?

Jay: Yeah

 
Nikki and Cameron come down the stairs to see the 3 girls.  Cameron nods at them and they go and dance.

 
The scene goes to Ava sitting on the beach

 
(Bryant walks over)

Bryant: I didn't know. 

Ava: Yeah, that makes two of us. 

Bryant: All I have left is.....sorry.

Ava: Is it true what Tracy said?  I mean, about me. 

Bryant: Maybe a little. Living with Tracy is harder than the road less traveled...put it that way. I see you here, being here, the life you've carved her yourself and your family.  You changed.  I've changed.  Tracy hasn't.  I uh, guess I just got caught up, lost in the moment and I  had this stupid idea-

Ava: Bryant, don't.  Don't do this.  Don't do it to me, don't do it to Tracy, don't do it to yourself.  Bryant, go back to your hotel.  Try to make things right.  There's still something left between the two of you. 

Bryant: It hasn't been right with us for a long time. 

Ava: Go home. Work it out.  There's nothing here for you. 

(Bryant leaves)

(Johnny looks at Ava and she looks back at him. They stare at each other)

 
The scene goes to Johnny on the balcony. 

 
(Ava walks out)

Johnny: Ava-

Ava: I didn't sleep with Bryant.  Just to be clear because Tracy seems to be under that impression. 

Johnny: I knew better than that. 

Ava: Then why did you?

Johnny: I wish I could answer that Ava.  But uh...the truth is um you scared me. 

Ava: That doesn't make any sense. 

Johnny: No, I mean about the way I felt about you.  It was like we were on this path.  All 4 of us making plans about where we'd be in 3 years, in 5 years and it was great.  You and me.  It was unbelieveable.  And uh, I  just wasn't ready.

Ava: Neither was I.  Nobody was pushing for anything

Johnny: I know. I know you weren't.  You meant too much to me.  You mean too much to me. 

(They stare at each other)

 
The scene goes to Cameron and Amber dancing together

 
(Nikki sees them and walks over)

Nikki: Excuse me

Amber: You're excused. 

(Nikki pushes her)

Amber: What's your problem? Move! (Amber shoves Nikki)

Nikki: You move

(They keep shoving each other)

Ava: Nikki!

(Ava and Johnny come running in)

Ava: Nikki!

(Jay and Erika come running in)

Jay: There's a fight on the dancefloor.

Cameron: Stop it

(Bradin pulls Nikki away from Amber)

Amber: What's your prob?

Nikki: It's you

Bradin: Stop it

Ava: Whoa! Whoa, Nikki!

Nikki: She started it

Amber: I was just dancing with a friend

Jay: You starting trouble mate?

Cameron: Me?  No, I'm-

Erika: Amber you're a long way from home. 

Amber: Just making new friends. 

Nikki: We're not friends.

Johnny: What's up with the outfit?

Ava: And the make up.  Okay, I think we should uh-

Johnny: Yeah yeah you know what everyone let's get back to having a good time here!  Nothing else to see here we go!  Hey Bradin maybe you can hold it down for us.

(Camera cuts to Derrick trying to push some buttons)

(Bradin grabs him)

Bradin: Get outta here!

 
Scene goes back to everyone on the dance floor.

 
Ava: Would someone like to tell me what's really going on here? 

Nikki: Nothing is really going on.  (To Cameron) If you want to be with her...be with her.

(Nikki leaves)

Cameron: Oh, Nikki!

(Cameron goes to run after her but Jay steps in his way)

Jay: So you are starting trouble.

Johnny: Okay everybody let's hit the dance floor, here we go!

(Susannah walks over to Amber)

Susannah: So.  What's with you?

Amber: Nothing?

Susannah: That's what I thought

 
Scene goes to Nikki running into her room and laying down on her bed crying.

 
(Ava walks in)

Ava: Nikki, hey, you want to talk about it?

Nikki: Not really.

Ava: It might make you feel better. 

Nikki: That's doubtful

Ava: Let's give it a try anyway.  I'm going to assume the make up was a strategic move. 

Nikki: Something like that

Ava: And is it safe to say that I won't be seeing it or this outfit for atleast another couple of years

Nikki: Also safe to say

Ava: See. This is going well.  Now about the fighting. 

Nikki: She deserved it. 

Ava: Nikki, nobody deserves to be hit.  Well, maybe some people do but not in this instance. 

Nikki: Yeah, but she thought that she could just take him.  Like I wouldn't do anything

Ava: And what did you think you'd fight fire with my ruby red lipstick?

Nikki: Well it seemed like a good idea at the time

Ava: Nikki, you don't have to be somebody you're not.  The trick is embracing who you are. 

Nikki: Yeah but you didn't see the way Cameron looked at me when he saw me wearing this outfit.  It was like he was seeing me for the first time. 

Ava: Cameron didn't ask you to change did he?

Nikki: No

Ava: See? And he di- Wait a minute. You didn't, I mean, you you you didn't...this all stopped at the outfit right?

Nikki: Yes, definately yes.

Ava: Nikki, you have plenty of time to be a grown up.  Look at me, I'm still trying to figure it out.  Just be who you are and have a good time. Cameron likes you for you and believe it or not that says alot about who he is. 

Nikki: Thank you

 
Scene goes to Susannah walking up to Dalton

 
Susannah: Hey

Dalton: Hey.  You're back. 

Susannah: I'm just going to ask you this this one time.  Why now?

Dalton: I've been asked that (says something I don't catch)

Susannah: So that means

Dalton: That I'd be in LA 24/7

Susannah: Wow. Congratulations.

Dalton: You always wanted me here.  I'm here. 

Susannah: Yeah well my wants have changed dramatically since the last time you saw me. 

Dalton: I find that hard to believe.  Susannah Rexford no longer wants VIP seating at the top of restaurants, a house in the hills, view of the city, access to every premiere and top rate party?

Susannah: Slow down. 

Dalton: The real Susannah would have packed a bag by now

Susannah: Yeah well, things are different, there are the kids...

Dalton: I mean, c'mon, we do this right... just might work.

(Camera goes to Derrick trying to touch the equipment)

Dalton: Is there a problem?

Susannah: The problem is...I've moved on. 

(Susannah leaves)

(Camera goes to Bradin)

Bradin: Alright everybody, let's konga.

(Camera goes to Derrick)

Derrick: Let's konga!

(They all start to Konga)

(Camera goes to Erika and Jay)

Erika: What?

Jay: Nothing, um, this is really starting to feel right?

Erika: Well are you going to do something about it?

Jay: Yeah, I'll try

Erika: Do more than try.  Cause I'm not settling for anything less

(They kiss)

(Camera goes to Bradin)

Bradin: This one goes to a very very special couple

 
Scene goes to Nikki and Cameron cleaning up

 
NIkki: She was all over you and you didn't even do one thing about it

Cameron: Yeah, I know, I'm an idiot.  I should have picked up on Amber using her powers for bad

Nikki: And if you want me to be like her, dress like her, I can't.  I'm not Amber.  And I never will be.

Cameron: Nobody asked you to.  You know, if I wanted to hang with her I'd hang with her.  With you it's like we're not trying.  It just is.  With us.  You look hot though.  (She looks at him) Kidding!  Kidding.  You know you're the talk all over Playa Linda.

Nikki: Really?

Cameron: Yeah, girls are scared of you

Nikki: Shut up

Cameron: You want to dance?

Nikki: Yeah. 

 
Scene goes to Johnny

 
(Ava walks up to Johnny)

Johnny: You know, for what it's worth.  I'm not that person now.  And if I could take it back...

Ava: I know.  Can friends share a dance?

(They smile and dance)

(Camera goes to Jay and Erika kissing)

(Camera goes to Susannah and Derrick dancing)

(Camera goes to everyone dancing)

And fades away
