( Madison, Glenn & Aiden are sat in the school court yard, Madison & Glenn are flirting )

Madison: You are so full of it…

Glenn: If I’m lying I’m dying. ( Madison Laughs )

Aiden: Ah. now there’s a good story.

( Clay is about to walk over to Sean & Boz, but Glenn shouts him over, Clay walks over to Glenn )

Sean: Hey dawg… over here.

Glenn: Hey. Hey Clay come here man, I need you to back me up on something.

Boz: Well I guess I know were we stand.

Sean: Don’t make that leap man. Maybes there’s a reason…

Boz: Better be a good one. ( Clay is now with Glenn, Madison & Aiden, Aiden looks bored )

Glenn: Tell them about the night at the golf course ok. They don’t believe me.

Clay: Oh you mean the night my brother was takin out by aliens… I swear man, it was in the papers. No lie.

Glenn: See. I told you, I told you… ( They all laugh, besides Aiden who has noticed Ashley & Spencer on another table, he texts Ashley, Glenn Continues his story ) I was sitting in a golf cart in the middle of the lake. Naked.

Madison: That is hysterical…

( Ashley’s phone rings, she looks at it )

Can I Join? Or is it girls only?

It’s cool. U r 1 of the grrlz. ( Aiden walks over and joins Ashley & Spencer )

Spencer: Hey.

Aiden: Hey.

Ashley: I’m soo excited, my dad’s gunna finally be able to see me play.

Spencer: I can’t believe he’s never seen you do that before.

Ashley: Well he’s always been on the road with his band so..

Spencer: Well, we’ll be there an tryna bring some people.

Ashley: I don’t care who comes, as long as you guys are there.

Aiden: Yeah, we’ll be your own personal fans, we’ll. We’ll rush to the front of the stage and get all crazy and scream and yell. Fling ourselves onstage.

Spencer: I’ve always wanted to be a groupie. ( Ashley & Aiden smirk at Spencer ) no wait that’s not true ( Ashley & Aiden laugh ) but I’ve always wanted to know someone in a band.

Ashley: You gotta aim higher Spence.

( Madison notices Aiden with Ashley & Spencer )

Madison: He can’t stand it when he’s not the centre of attention.

Glenn: You see that’s where he’s got it wrong. He should be making you the centre of his attention. I know I would be.

Madison: Really…

( The bell rings, Clay notices Sean give him a look then walk away )

( Ashley & Spencer are in Ashley’s bedroom, Ashley is trying on some outfits for her show )

Ashley: Ok. Now, I want my outfit to have the right blend of rocker smoke and sexiness and. “I’m no slave to fashion” attitude.

Spencer: It shouldn’t be hard that’s what you look like everyday. ( Ashley holds up a black slinky top ) I think it’s perfect… as long as you plan to accessorise… With a shirt…

Ashley: You are such a strange girl.

Spencer: You would know… ( Ashley sits down on the bed, she looks a little upset ) what. ( Spencer gently touches Ashley’s arm )

Ashley: I’m nervous for my dad to see me play, I’ve tried so hard to be good at what he’s great at, I just don’t think it’s gunna be enough.

Spencer: Are you kidding?. He’s gunna be so proud of you.

Ashley: I hope. We just don’t have the closest relationship, I had to go through his road manager in order to invite him to the show. Which pretty much defines my entire childhood with him. Anytime I wanted to figure something out about his life I had to look to a Rolling Stones magazine. And he knows even less about mine.

Spencer: Sorry. That sucks. But I mean he is coming. Maybe he wants to make up for lost time. Fix it.

Ashley: Maybe.( Ashley looks a little more relaxed, she smile at Spencer, she smiles back)

( Glenn & Clay are playing a computer game )

Glen: Oh!! Your dead sucker!. Mom was asking me about Sean the other day. You know what kinda guy he is… stuff like that.

Clay: What did you say?.

Glenn: I told her I thought he looked like a gangster and I wouldn’t be surprised if he sold drugs.

Clay: Why’d you say that?…

Glenn: Sike!!. Aww you gotta keep your eye on the screen boy.

Clay: Don’t even joke about that stuff. I’m serious. Sean’s been cool to me since we got here. Which is more than I can say about a lot of people at King.

Glenn: Yeah man he’s got your back. Just like how he got you hassled by the cops on are first week in town.

Clay: Listen to me, listen to me, that’s not even about Sean. That’s about L.A. ok. He’s not who you think he is. Why don’t. why don’t you just get to know him.

Glenn: Look. Alright I know this is important to you…

Glenn: But there’s gotta be some better guys you can hang out with…

Clay: Right. You know what. Why don’t we agree to not judge each others friends. ( Spencer walks in )

Spencer: Hi.

Glenn: Speaking of bad judgment in friends.

( Ashley, Aiden & Spencer are walking in school )

Ashley: So on Saturday you guys should just meet me at Gray, your names will be on the list.

Aiden: Spencer you want me to pick you up?.

Spencer: Yeah. ( Madison walks over and grabs Aiden )

Madison: Desperately I’m sure. I need to talk to you… alone…

Ashley: Aww. You better get used to that whole alone thing cos your boy he’s moving on.

Madison: Bite me queer eye.

Ashley: Not if you where the last Barbie on earth. ( Ashley & Spencer walk away )

Madison: So. I have a fabulous idea. Saturday night you and I are gunna have a wicked hot date, which we desperately need. Cherie’s uncle is a night manager at the fair fax’s weeks and he’ll get us a great room.

Aiden: Err. Saturday?.

Madison: Yeah. But when you see what I’m wearing you’ll forget what day it is. I swear.

Aiden: Sounds great, but can we do it another night I kinda got some plans I don’t wanna break.

Madison: Excuse me!. I do not take rain checks. let me guess your doing something with the Ellen twins.

Aiden: Spencer’s not gay.

Madison: No. because I’m starting to wonder about you. So you better get busy baby or someone else will be fringing my benefits.

( Sean & Boz are talking )

Sean: Yo that’s all good, but keep it small man don’t be sending out the word making flyers puttin it on the pipe.

( Clay walks over to join them )

Boz: His main crew must be busy.

Clay: What’s up man. Something in store for this weekend?.

Sean: Saturday. Yard party at my house. Girls, music the usual.

Boz: Yeah. For those who are invited.

Sean: Yeah. But it’s up to you Clay, we just thought you’d wanna be doin what ya main crew have planned for you. Whatever that is. Going to the mall, making a run at the rich girls. Blending with society.

Clay: Funny.

Sean: Avoiding the community.

Clay: I don’t get this but.

Sean: What?. ( Sean’s pointing to his ear, Clay looks confused )

Clay: Ok. See you guys around, I have to catch my ride.

( Glenn is walking out of the gym, Madison goes over to talk to him )

Glenn: Your boy’s still in the locker-room in front of the mirror… probably working on his shot and string line.

Madison: Actually I was looking for you.

Glenn: Excellent choice.

Madison: I’ve decided to break my one guy at a time rule, broaden my horizons. ( As Madison & Glenn walk away linking arms, Aiden walks out of the gym and notices them, he turns and walks away ). See what Ohio has to offer.

Glenn: Your ready to trade up?…

Madison: My Saturday night just broke open, are you up for it?.

Glenn: I will be.

Madison: Easy cowboy, it’s only an audition… ( Madison walks away leaving Glenn standing there )

( Aiden & Spencer are Gray where Ashley is playing, they are queuing up at the entrance, Aiden is holding I.D )

Spencer: Your not that old.

Aiden: I am tonight. ( The bouncers check Aiden’s I.D and accept it, Spencer is stamped on her hand to show her real age, Ashley is waiting at the bar )

Ashley: Hey, you guys made it.

Spencer: Wow. You look great. Are you ready?.

Ashley: As ready as I’m gunna be. I told Bernie to put me up at the end of her set… ( Ashley points to a women singing on the stage, Aiden goes to the bar to get drinks ) my dad’s gunna be late, he likes to slip in after the show starts, doesn’t want to steal anyone’s thunder.

Aiden: Two vodka cranberry. ( The bar women checks Aiden’s I.D )

Barwomen: Ok. Your good, now who’s the other one for?.

Aiden: Girl at the end of the bar. ( Aiden points to Spencer, Spencer waves revealing her stamped hand )

Barwomen: Oh. She’s cute. And a minor. So you better behave or I’ll take a closer look at your I.D. ( Aiden smiles and walks back over to Spencer & Ashley ) Sorry yours is a virgin. ( Aiden hands Spencer the drink )

Ashley: But it doesn’t have to be. ( Ashley grabs her bag off the bar, watching the barwomen, and pulls out a flask containing alcohol ) I’m soo a better friend. Here have some of my poison.

Aiden: Too Ashley. ( They all take a drink of their beer, Spencer coughs, Ashley & Aiden laugh ) I’m gunna go over to the stage, talk to the sound guy and try not to be nervous. Here save some for me. ( Ashley hands Spencer the flask she puts it in her bag, Aiden grabs her hand and leads her to the dance floor, they begin to dance, Ashley looks on a little jealous )

( Cut to the Carlin home, Madison is sat with Glenn talking to his parents Paula & Arthur )

Madison: I was really excited when Glenn said he wanted me to come over here for us to meet you guys.

Paula: Well thanks. ( Clay walks in )

Clay: Hey everyone. Hey I’m heading out. Glenn can I use your car?.

Glenn: Sure man. If it’s ok with Madison if we take hers tonight.

Madison: Yeah sure. Wouldn’t wanna be the spoiler and wreck Clay’s plans to get out. ( Everyone laughs )

Paula: Erm. Listen you did leave us Sean’s address and phone number right?.

Clay: Yeah it’s on the counter.

Paula: And you took your cell phone.

Clay: Yeah.

Paula: Alright. Midnight Clay.

Clay: Ok. Yeah.

Arthur: Have fun.

Clay: Thank you dad. ( Paula, Arthur & Madison continue to talk, whilst Glenn walks Clay out to give him his car keys )

Paula: So. Erm. I know you’re a cheerleader.

Madison: Yeah I’m a cheerleader. ( Cut to clay & Glenn, there is laughter in the background )

Clay: You know she’s still Aiden’s girlfriend. And the word is she’s a man eater.

Glenn: Good man.

Clay: Just take it slow until you figure out what she’s really up to, whether it’s about you or him.

Glenn: Trust me. It’s all about me now. Bringing girls home to meet the folks. Always seals the deal.

Clay: You know I can’t decide if your brilliant or evil. Or both.

Glenn: I know, I know.

Clay: Give me the keys.

Glenn: I’m your ride, I’m your ride. Bye.

( Back to Gray, Spencer is pouring the last of the alcohol in the flask in to her cup, she‘s clearly drunk, she starts to dance, goes up to Aiden and pulls him around, they share a kiss, Ashley looks on looking a little hurt )

Spencer: Wait, wait, wait. What about Madison?.

Aiden: Hey. I’m where I wanna be. ( Ashley walks up behind them, she notices Spencer is drunk, she pulls the two of them apart )

Spencer: Oh my god. This is awesome. I mean your gunna be so awesome. This whole night is awesome.

Ashley: Yeah. Awesome ( Ashley grabs Spencer hand and leads her to her dressing room )

Spencer: What!. ( They are now in the dressing room, alone ) what?. ( Spencer leans into Ashley and gently runs her finger down her face and neck, Spencer pushes further into Ashley, Ashley stops Spencer‘s hand and pushes her away )

Ashley: Ok stop. Your drunk right now and I cannot take care of you.

Spencer: I don’t need anyone to take care of me. ( Spencer drunkenly falls backwards, Ashley stops her from falling fully )

Ashley: Great. You know what you’re the one who’s supposed to be taking care of me right now. My dad hasn’t even showed up yet and I’m starting to wonder if he ever will. It just sucks ok.

Spencer: Ash. Your dads not a no show, you said he’s always late. Just. Don’t give up ok.

Ashley: Yeah. Whatever. Look I’ll meet you out there, I have to get it together before I go on stage.

Spencer: Your gunna be great. ( Spencer embraces Ashley in a hug ) your gunna be great. ( She places a kiss on Ashley’s cheek, Ashley looks upset as Spencer walks out of the room drunkenly, Ashley sits down at her dressing table and calls her dad, it goes to the answer machine )

Ashley: Err. Hey dad it’s me Ashley, I’m just calling to check in on you it’s like 10 o’clock and I go on in 15 minutes. Ok well I hope to see you soon. Right bye. ( Ashley looks at herself in the mirror, takes a deep breathe and walks out of the room back into the club, she stops in her tracks as she notices Spencer & Aiden walking out, Spencer waves Ashley over and continues to walk out, Ashley looks on hurt )

( Cut to sean’s yard party, Sean & Boz are playing cards with some friends, Clay walks over )

Boz: Bam!… ( Sean chucks his cards down defeated )

Sean: We got you on the next one.

Boz: What’d you know about it baby.

Sean: We got you on the next one.

Clay: Ooo hey fellas.

Boz: He lost.

Sean: Yo I’m impressed. Yo I didn’t think you’d choose the party with the brothers.

Clay: Oh. Ok so that’s what this is about?. You think I’d rather hang out with Glenn and his friends?.

Sean: Ok. Go ahead and play this next game. ( To Boz ) did you or did you not walk past this today table the other day?.

Clay: Ok, ok he actually called me over to ask about some stupid story he was telling. You did know that right?. So it wasn’t. it wasn’t a big deal.

Sean: Hold up. Yo to some folks it was. You have got a lot to learn about what the gold standard for a big deal is in L.A.

( Cut to the Carlin house, Glenn & Madison are making out on the sofa, it looks like it could turn into something more )

( Back to Gray, Ashley is ready to perform )

Bernie: I’m Gunna bring a friend of mine to the stage, she has rock and roll in her blood, please welcome Ashley Davies. ( Ashley walks on stage, the crownd clap at her appearance )

Ashley: Ok well, this song has a lot of mileage, but I like to think that it still holds up, ok my dad wrote it and I would like to dedicate it to him and. To my two friends who are always there for me. ( Ashley searches around the room, with no sign of Spencer, Aiden or her dad ) this is hold on.

( Aiden & Spencer are in Aiden’s car making out )

Aiden: Spencer. Are you sure you wanna do this?. ( Spencer starts to open her blouse )

Spencer: Do what?. This. ( Aiden looks out of the car window to see if anyones around, he turns back around to see Spencer passed out )

Aiden: Spencer. Spencer are you ok?. ( Spencer mumbles lightly )

( Cut back to Sean’s Yard party, him & Clay are playing chess )

Clay: Look I didn’t mean for you guys to think I was chosing another group of friends over you guys.

Sean: Ok. so now you know.

Clay: What do I have to choose?. My life has been about tryna blend rather than separate, why can’t I just roll with both?.

Sean: You can try. But err I do what I well chose and it’d be the boys who had my back since we were kids, it’s no shame it’s just a game.

Clay: Yeah. Just like my brother & sister. Check mate.

Sean: Whooo, you got me. My man.

( Aiden is carrying Spencer into her home, she is laughing loudly and falling everywhere )

Aiden: Spencer get it together. Alright, we gotta get you to bed.

Spencer: I thought we already did that.

Aiden: No we didn’t alright. You passed out.

Spencer: I’m sorry. ( Aiden switches the light on in the living room to find Madison & Glenn making out on the sofa, Glenn jumps up off Madison when the light is switched on )

Spencer: Whooooo Whoo…

Glenn: What the hell did you do to my sister?.

Spencer: Nothing. S’ok.

Aiden: Guess I don’t need to ask what you’ve been doing with my girlfriend. Pretty obvious.

Glenn: Maybe if you where a better boyfriend she wouldn’t be lookin my way.

Aiden: Man she’s just using you to get to me.

Madison: Don’t you throw that at me.

Spencer: Nnn no, no, no, no this is not what it looks like.

Madison: It’s not. Because it looks like you’ve been getting dressed in the back seat of someone’s Neson Exstera.

Spencer: Hey Aiden isn’t that what you drive?.

Aiden: Spencer shut up.

Spencer: Huh?.

Glenn: Hey man you shut up.

Madison: Both of you shut up. This is all soo wrong.

Aiden,Glenn&Madison: Shut up!!. I mean did this Jack hole get you wasted?.

Spencer: Noo. ( Spencer slaps Glenn playfully as her parents walk up behind her )

Paula: Spencer are you drunk?.

Spencer: Noo. ( Spencer then throws up in the middle off the room )

Glenn: Aww.

Aiden: Aw.

Madison: Eeeww.

Arthur: We’ll take that as a yes.

( Back at Gray, Ashey is sat at the bar talking to the barwomen, neither Spencer, Aiden or her father turned up to watch her )

Barwomen: Hey sometimes people get caught up in the moment the booze, the come on, whatever. And I’m not sayin it’s ok, but most times it’s not even about you.

Ashley: So what. I’m just supposed to forgive them for not even being there when they where supposed to be?.

Barwomen: Hell no. and for the record I didn’t serve your friend Spencer, I dunno who hooked her up but she is gunna hate them in the morning.

Ashley: Yeah. Bad move. ( Ashley’s dad rushes in )

Dad: Hunnie. I suck. I suck!. My manager had the label come to see the show I had to do the whole dog and pony show stuff. Just this ( He gets up and taps his feet ) all night long. I am sorry I missed it.

Ashley: Whatever dad.

Dad: If it’s any consellation I can get you and a bunch of your friends tickets to the show this week.

Ashley: I’ll think about it. Just not even sure where I stand with my friends right now either…

Barwomen: You know your girl really rocked the house tonight. She threw one out to you, it’s too bad you weren’t here to catch it.

Dad: She’s right. I shoulda been here.

Ashley: You know what I wasn’t really expecting you to show up, you think I’d be used to it by now though right?.

Dad: I’m sorry. And I know that I keep letting you down.

Ashley: Yeah you do dad.

Dad: I will try to do better.

Ashley: Don’y make promises you can’t keep. But you know what. It means a lot that you wanna be there for me.

Dad: Ofcourse I wanna be there for you. By the way what was that song you shouted out to me?.

Ashley: Hold on.

Dad: Well. Let me hear that song now.

Ashley: Ok. ( Ashley’s dad grabs her guitar and begins to play, people in the club begin to listen )

Ashley: Spend your life searchin, and waiting in line, I know your holdin on to what you can’t find, when light is fading, and it’s hard to see, I hope you know your still a part of me.

Ashley&Dad: So hold on, hold on to me, hold on, hold on to me. ( People in the club clap and cheer as Ashley and her dad share a hug )

( Aiden walks past Glenn & Madison, holding hands, Sitting down in the school court yard, he texts Madison )

( Madison turns round and kisses Glenn passionately, Aiden walks off and bumps into Spencer )

Aiden: Hey.

Spencer: Hey.

Aiden: How ya err. How ya feeling?. How was the rest of your weekend?.

Spencer: Yeah. Other than being sick for the last 3 days and grounded for the next 7. I’d say it was awesome. ( Aiden laughs )

Aiden: I’m sorry about that, I kinda feel responsible.

Spencer: Yeah. You and my fling with Ashley’s flask, what was I thinking?.

Aiden: After 3 shots you weren’t.

Spencer: So did I do anything with you that I should be embarrassed about?.

Aiden: No, not at all. I mean it was great till you passed out. ( They both laugh )

Spencer: I’m so mortified.

Aiden: Nah don’t be. I mean were ok.

Aiden: You what me to go with you, help you explain?.

Aiden: Later. ( Spencer walks over to Ashley who is lay on a table listening to her walkman, she gently taps her arm )

Ashley: I want my flask back.

Spencer: Fine. The smell alone starts my yack fest again.

Ashley: Well at least you had Aiden to hold your hair back.

Spencer: Listen about Aiden, I don’t.

Ashley: Look, don’t explain. I get it I’ve been there with him.

Spencer: Were not together. I was drunk and stupid and acted the way I acted I’m lucky that were still friends. Are you and I still friends?.

Ashley: I Could use a friend who I can count on in my life, there’s enough people who I can’t.

Spencer: But you can count on me. I promise. Please don’t let Saturday night ruin us ok. Forgive me. ( Ashley smiles widely at Spencer )

Ashley: Forgiven. But your on probation.

Spencer: I’ll be better. I promise.

Ashley: I’ve been hearing that a lot lately. Here listen to this, it’s my dad’s new album. ( Ashley hands Spencer an ear piece they sit there and listen to the music together )
