SCENE 1
(We see a sunrise then John sitting on a car watching it)
SCENE 2
(Inside a white room bustling with scientists)
DK: Launch Conditions are optimal. Final checks are underway and recovery craft in position.
JOHN: How are the CRC numbers?
DK: Mid thirties and holding. Meteorology's got some hiccup they're checking out.....(John grabs paper. DK picks up a magazine) See our latest press? "Childhood friends out to prove a theory", "Can a man's spacecraft overcome atmospheric friction and exponentially increase it speed using only a planet's natural gravity?" (John doesn't answer) Man what is wrong with you?
JOHN: DK, you know that feeling you have the night before something really big's about to happen in your life? It's the night before we graduated high school, it's the...night before we started this job. Well I had that feeling last night in quarantine.
DK: This experiment that important to you? (Man walks into room) Uh oh, one small step bud.
JACK: Hi, DK.
DK: Sir
JACK: You're looking pretty sharp there...Commander Crichton
JOHN: Thanks Dad. Let's do this thing.
SCENE 3
(John and Dad walking down a corridor)
JACK: I, uh, talked to Pete Maxwell and the other at Control. They're going to take real good care of you while you're up there. I heard that you uh, you went AWOL from the Rat Cage this morning. Man, in my day, if I'd ever broken quarantine like that they'd eh... Son you got rattlers in your stomach?
JOHN: Ah, I've been up on the shuttle before dad. Twice.
JACK: Didn't matter how many times I went up. Every time, rattlers. First EVA, first time I walked on the moon...
JOHN: I'm not going and EVA, Dad. I'm not walking on the moon, I'm just doing a little experiment.
JACK: An experiment to prove your own theory. Have you any idea how proud that makes me? That's something I never did. And the guys in the button down collars and neck ties, they got to use their brains. All I ever got to use was my.......
JOHN: ...guts, and the seat of my flight suit.
JACK: Son I can't help being who I am. Who I was.
JOHN: It's not who you are, Dad. I love who you are. It's being son of who you are. Look, I, uh, can't be your kind of hero.
JACK: No you can't be. But each man get the chance to be his own kind of hero. Your time will come and when it does, watch out. Chances are it'll be the last thing you ever expected. (Takes a ring out of pocket)
JOHN: Oh no. That's your good luck charm, you're not going to give me that.
JACK: Oh listen you hang onto it and you can give it back to me tonight.
SCENE 4
(A space shuttle in space, John in Farscape One and the control room back on Earth)
ANNOUNCER: Ladies and gentlemen of the press. At 2614 on the flight clock we begin the major experiment of this mission. Commander John Crichton will pilot a craft of his own design in a dangerous attempt to use out own planet's gravity as a speed booster, sling-shotting him into space at previously unrecorded speeds. If successful, the results are anticipated at the first concrete step towards interstellar travel.
JOHN: Canaveral this is Farscape One, I am free and flying. Are you with me there Momma Bear?
DK (on Earth): Oh yeah, Farscape, I'm reading you loud and clear.
JOHN: Authorising flight computer to initiate ignition sequencing...now!
DK: Roger Farscape, you are go for insertion procedures.
JOHN: Approaching maximum velocity in 20 seconds.....18 seconds...nearing critical altitude phase.
DK: Farscape One, hold on a moment.
JOHN: Hold....Canaveral what?
DK: Meteorology reports some kind of electromagnetic wave, repeat some kind of wave. John do you read me?
JOHN: Yeah, I'm reading you.
(Static.)
DK: Canaveral? (hears static) John, abort!
JOHN: Canaveral?!
JACK (on Earth): Son, you have to abort! Abort now!
(John's ship enters a wormhole. JOHN screams. The ship travels wildly through the wormhole, eventually coming out on the other side.)
JOHN: God, my head. Canaveral this is Farscape One. I'm OK, repeat, I'm OK. Woo hoo! Hey d'you guys get video for all that? Canaveral..... DK..... Dad? Where are you guys, where's..... Earth? (Ship is rocked as another ship passes close by at high speed) Jees! What the!? Uh. Canaveral?
[OPENING CREDITS]
SCENE 5
(Ship collides w. Farscape One and crashed into an asteroid, exploding.)
JOHN: Canaveral, I've been hit! (Sees Moya - she's being attacked by the smaller ships) That's big. That's really big. (Something starts pulling Farscape One towards Moya) Oh hell. Uh, Canaveral, Dad, DK, I'm being pulled, uh. Engines not responding and I can't break away. Can anyone hear me Canaveral? Oh my god.
(Farscape One is pulled into Moya, into a huge landing bay. Ship lands, folds up wings. A DRD appears in the ship's canopy window. A fire starts and John hits the canopy release button and canopy flies off, hitting DRD, breaking one of it's `head lamps' and it moves away. Another one shoots something at John and herds him into Command where he sees two aliens at the controls. DRD makes noises to attract their attention to John and they see him)
JOHN: Uh, hi. My name's John, John Cri.... (starts choking as D'Argo grabs him by the throat and says something unintelligible to him.) I...can't understand what...
ZHAAN: (Delvian language.) ...answer him quickly. You know how Luxans can be.
D'ARGO: Your ship - what kind is it?
ZHAAN: Your ship appeared out of nowhere and we don't know of that technology. Is it something we can use to escape?
D'ARGO: We brought you here for one reason. Tell us or die with us!
(D'ARGO throws JOHN into a wall.)
D'ARGO: Pilot, I demand maneuverability now! Pilot!
(Pilot's visage appear as a hologram on the half-shell.)
PILOT: There's nothing I can do, not while the control collar is still in place. Moya can't withstand this assault much longer.
(D'Argo rips the cover off a control column and starts tearing out wires and tubes.)
PILOT: Those synapses you are tearing out are not wired to the control collar.
D'ARGO: Then I shall keep pulling them until I find the ones that are!
RYGEL: (Flies through doorway, knocking John over) Get out of the way!
ZHAAN: The others, where are they?
RYGEL: There are no others, I've checked every cell level. I found a manifest. We were scheduled for transport to Terran Rau.
D'ARGO: That's a lifer's colony.
JOHN: Prisoners? You're escaped prisoners?
D'ARGO: I will not be taken prisoner again.
RYGEL: (To John.) They brought you aboard didn't they? Don't worry, I'll protect you. I look after you now, you look after me later.
PILOT: Attention! Hull integrity is reaching critical compromise!
(Zhaan starts chanting/praying, D'Argo carries on ripping out wires. Zhaan suddenly stops and smiles.)
ZHAAN: What have you done?
D'ARGO: What do you mean?
ZHAAN: The coding wall. It's dimming! You've hit the code, you've hit the code!
PILOT: The control collar - it's coming off!
D'ARGO: Pilot, prepare for immediate StarBurst!
PILOT: Moya has been restrained so long...
D'ARGO: She is a Leviathan, it is the single defensive maneuver she is capable of.
CRAIS (On his command carrier): Terminate assault! All Prowlers terminate assault!
PILOT: Claw onto something people! Prepare for StarBurst!
RYGEL: I hate StarBurst.
SCENE 6
(Crais' Command Carrier.)
TEEG: Captain! Captain Crais!
CRAIS: Yes Lieutenant?
TEEG: The Prowler squad has returned. They report...the Leviathan transport has escaped. On of the prisoners, the Hynerian Royal somehow secured the key codes to the prisoner's cells and... there were casualties sir. Two ships lost...
CRAIS: I don't care about casualties. A Leviathan transporting prisoners does not escape from my custody. Has my brother returned yet? I'll despatch him in the rear battle fighter to track her down.
TEEG: Sir, this is playback from a recon satellite monitoring the pursuit of the Leviathan.
(The playback shows Farscape One on a screen.)
CRAIS: What manner of craft is this? (The other ship comes into view.) My brother's Prowler. Surely he would.... (ship collides with Farscape One and crashed into asteroid.)
TEEG: We lost a second ship, sir. It was absorbed with the Leviathan when it went into StarBurst...
CRAIS: I want to see him.
TEEG: See him, sir?
CRAIS: Peel back the image. I want to see who is inside.
SCENE 7
(Moya.)
PILOT: We've done it! We've escaped! Attention! One Prowler was transported with us.
D'ARGO: Lock its radio nevits and bring it aboard.
PILOT: As good as done.
ZHAAN: Pilot, does Moya know where we are?
PILOT: Yes, of course. We're....someplace else. I'll...get back to you on the specifics.
ZHAAN: At least we're free.
(Rygel spits mucus on John, who backs away.)
JOHN: What....it the matter with you....people?!
(D'Argo hits him in the neck with his frog-tongue and John fall unconscious.)
SCENE 8
(Later on Moya.)
D'ARGO: This damned Leviathan has no idea where we are!
ZHAAN: I am Pa'u Zotoh Zhaan. And you?
D'ARGO: Ka D'Argo. You are Delvian.
ZHAAN: A priest.
D'ARGO: I have heard of your kind's practises....your....appetites.
ZHAAN (smiling): Such as?
D'ARGO: I have heard of something known as the uh, fourth sensation.
ZHAAN: I have experienced this. Not lately
D'ARGO: Oh. Whuh, why were you uh, why have you uh...
ZHAAN: Imprisoned? Because on my home world, even among my kind I was something of an anarchist. Actually, I was the anarchist. And you?
D'ARGO: I killed a fellow soldier. My commanding officer.
ZHAAN: How old are you?
D'ARGO: Thirty cycles.
ZHAAN: Ah, you are but a boy!
D'ARGO: I am not. I am a Luxan warrior. I have seen two battle campaigns.
ZHAAN: Only two?
D'ARGO: You know Peacekeeper coding.
ZHAAN: Yes, I spent three cycles on a maximum labour planet.
D'ARGO: Which one?
ZHAAN: Nikar Seven, assigned to Peacekeeper intenelin interface.
D'ARGO: I was on Nikar Seven.
ZHAAN: Truly?
D'ARGO: On the ninety-third level, in the kemlac mines.
ZHAAN: Why aren't you dead?
D'ARGO: I often ask myself the same question. Why so many others die while the Peacekeepers looked on. Somehow it made me stronger. I suppose the war made me too strong not to survive.
ZHAAN: Perhaps you survived for this
D'ARGO: This escape? I doubt it will last long enough for the Peacekeepers even to note it in their logs.
ZHAAN: Not this escape itself but what we pray will be the result. Freedom.
D'ARGO: That is a very Delvian way to look at the situation.
ZHAAN: I am nothing if not a product of my upbringing.
D'ARGO: And I am mine.
ZHAAN: Then perhaps together a warrior and a priest can help save each other.
SCENE 9
(A holding cell on Moya. John wakes up, but keeps eyes closed.)
JOHN: Oh please, let it all be a dream. A very bad, very..... twisted dream.
(JOHN opens his eyes and looks around cell. RYGEL enters the corridor outside the cell and studies a panel.)
RYGEL: Hmmm...
JOHN: Uh, what!...um...where...where are my clothes? (Run off, finds clothes and gets, dressed) Hey! Why did you take off my clothes!?
RYGEL: I am Rygel the sixteenth, Dominar to over 600 billion people. I don't have to talk to you!
JOHN: I thought you were a prisoner.
RYGEL: Falsely imprisoned. My cousin Bishan stole my throne from me while I slept. A mistake I will soon be rectifying. (Starts pressing buttons on panel.) Your garments were removed so that we could examine you.
JOHN: Examine. Examine? How! Whu...wait a minute, one of those....those mechanical things injected me right here....
RYGEL: Translator microbes.
JOHN: Microbes?
RYGEL: They colonise at the base of the brain, allow us to understand each other. Why you weren't injected at birth I cannot fathom!
JOHN: Colonise.....brain....wu...why have you got me locked in here? I'm..I'm not going to harm you, hell I wouldn't know how to harm you.
RYGEL: We can no more trust you than we can trust that!
(JOHN sees figure at the other side of the room. Figure wakes up and takes off helmet revealing a seemingly human female. He walks over to her.)
JOHN: I...uh....my name's John....
(Aeryn hits him, whacks him into the wall and throws him across the room and pins him down.)
AERYN: What is your rank and regiment? And why are you out of uniform? Rank and regiment now! (Gets up and removes outer armour.) Let me out of here you Hynerian slug!
RYGEL: Your efforts are wasted Peacekeeper, you of all people should know that!
JOHN: (Getting up) Peacekeeper? You're one of those out there attacking the ship, you think I'm one of you?
AERYN: Officer Aeryn Sun, Special Peacekeeper Commando, Ikarion Company, Pleisar Regiment. Identify yourself.]
JOHN: My rank is commander, I'm not military, least not any military you know. I'm a damn scientist.
(RYGEL hits some more buttons on the panel, hits the panel when it doesn't work. A platform comes down from the ceiling with some items on it. Rygel takes an ring from a box.)
RYGEL: It's been so long
(D'ARGO and ZHAAN enter.)
D'ARGO: Our possessions. My blade.
RYGEL: Hands off, Luxan!
ZHAAN: Ah, you're awake - both of you. A problem my dear? You should be used to viewing the likes of us through bars.
JOHN: Listen to me, I'm not what you think I am...
ZHAAN: Not a Peacekeeper? Yes, we know that now. You have some decidedly unfamiliar bacteria living within you.
JOHN: I'm from a planet called Earth. I'm human. Homo sapiens sapiens.....
ZHAAN: It's time to eat.
JOHN: Eat what?
SCENE 10
(Crais' command carrier.)
CRAIS: Whoever killed my brother will pay dearly...
TEEG: Captain. The techs are completing the imaging of the module's pilot.
CRAIS: Show me.
TEEG: On the final sweep now sir. (We see a picture of John though the canopy window of Farscape One) He's Sebacean!
CRAIS: Inform the rear battle fighter. They will take charge of the armada. We are going after the Leviathan.
TEEG: But sir, regulations...
CRAIS: That is a direct order Lieutenant.
SCENE 11
(A corridor on Moya. JOHN is walking along corridor with the others, handcuffed.)
JOHN: Look you know I'm not a Peacekeeper now could you get this stuff off my wrists?
ZHAAN: We still do not know your loyalties.
JOHN: My loyalties? I just got here! You know, you're the first alien contact anybody from my planet has ever made. I mean, we dreamed about it, made movies about it but, by the way, what part of the universe are we in? Are we still in Orion's Belt, still in the Milky Way....You have no idea what I'm talking about do you? Let me see some starcharts, get some common points of reference, damn! You know this ship is amazing, what kind of...
ZHAAN: She's a Leviathan, a bio-mechanoid, a living ship.
SCENE 12
(The Control room on Moya.)
D'ARGO: You blame me? If I hadn't pulled those wires, your precious Moya would still be wearing that control collar!
PILOT: And in doing so you also caused Moya to haemorrhage most of her iriscentant fluid.
D'ARGO: Leading to what result Pilot?
PILOT: Leading to our current maximum speed which is barely hech two. Moya and I.....(carries on in background)
JOHN: Why are they doing this? Feeding us?
AERYN: (Eating.) They'll need information if they're going to survive. They're hoping we'll provide it. I'd eat if I were you.
PILOT: Attention! We are approaching a......
AERYN: It may be the only chance we get. (Slips a fork up her sleeve.)
(ZHAAN comes over to John and Aeryn.)
ZHAAN: The ship's pilot has just informed us that we are approaching an inhabited system. With a commerce planet.....
RYGEL: A commerce planet! Excellent! We need many things. Hynerian cream soap definitely. Some fresh genery soup to get rid of the taste of these food cubes and...
D'ARGO: We need iriscentant fluid.
RYGEL: How dare you, you Luxan swine!
D'ARGO: Silence your Eminence. I've been searching for a reason not to jettison you with the next refuse dump.
RYGEL: You dump me!? I bribed the maintenance drones at the last checkpoint. I secured the cell codes that allowed for you escape!
ZHAAN: Gentlemen! Gentlemen, I suggest we focus on the situation at hand. (Speaking to Aeryn again.) Before we approach this planet we must know. Is there Peacekeeper presence in this system?
(Aeryn doesn't answer so she looks at John.)
JOHN: I don't know. Wish I did!
D'ARGO: We are wasting time we do not have. She is infantry. Peacekeeper Command tells her where to fight and die.
(Noxious sounds from Rygel, who grins.)
D'ARGO: This one, is some kind of higher brain function deficient. (Voice starts getting higher.) How he escaped then genetic sieving process I do not...know.... (more noxious sounding noises from Rygel.)
ZHAAN: Rygel?
JOHN: What just happened?
RYGEL: It's a perfectly natural bodily function. And it's odourless.
D'ARGO: So your loyal subjects tell you.
JOHN: You fart helium!?
RYGEL: Sometimes, when I'm nervous. Or angry!
PILOT: Attention. I thought you'd like to know, we are entering planetary orbit.
ZHAAN: Thank you, Pilot.
(There's a sudden flurry of activity and D'Argo grabs Aeryn and finds fork up sleeve. Aeryn just sits back again and eats another food cube.)
SCENE 13
(On the commerce planet in a market place)
RYGEL: (Bartering with a large insect-like alien) You know you only expose your ignorance if you deny knowledge of the hernian stone. (Alien hisses and says something) Twenty barrels of fluid! There was a time when you would have been disembowelled with a dull laxian spade for half such an insult! (Alien hisses louder)Thirty five?
SCENE 14
(Back in a holding cell on Moya)
JOHN: (Muttering to himself) Boy, was Spielberg ever wrong. Close encounters my ass! Wormhole. I must have come here through a wormhole. (To Aeryn) I must have come here through a wormhole! (To self again) Now, so if I did come here through a wormhole then the only way I'm going to get back is to find another wormhole. Or create one. Yeah right!
AERYN: Look, if you want to make one of these, wormhole things of yours how do you expect to do that from inside this cell? (John whistles to get her attention and brings out a fork from his sleeve.)
SCENE 15
(A corridor on Moya)
AERYN: (Walking fast down a corridor with John in tow) Come on, move faster!
JOHN: What are you doing?
AERYN: I'm going to sabotage this ship.
JOHN: Sabotage?! Give me a break, they haven't hurt us! How about we show a little compassion?
(John grabs Aeryn's arm and she warns him off, he steps back with hands up)
AERYN: Compassion, what is compassion?
JOHN: You're kidding right? It's a feeling that you have when you see someone else's pain and instead of taking advantage of their weakness you help them.
AERYN: Oh, I know this feeling.
JOHN: Well it is a fairly common human feeling.
AERYN: I hate it.
JOHN: You know what, I'm on the wrong team here, I'm just going to stay. (starts walking in other direction)
AERYN: Fine, do what you want. But if you stay here with these lower-lifes, you'll die with them.
JOHN: Well how do I know I can trust you?
AERYN: You don't. That's just another thing you don't know.
JOHN: Damn! (Follows Aeryn again)
SCENE 16
(Inside Moya's transport hanger)
AERYN: What is that? (looking at Farscape One)
JOHN: That's cutting edge technology.
AERYN: We're taking mine.
SCENE 17
(Crais' ship)
TEEG: Captain! We are receiving a transmission from one of the outer systems. It's Aeryn Sun, the Prowler pilot we thought lost. She was taken captive aboard the Leviathan but she's escaped. She has the being from the white pod with her.
SCENE 18
(On the commerce planet)
JOHN: (Standing in street on commerce planet and gawping around) I'm on another planet.
(Cut to Zhaan and D'Argo.)
D'ARGO: Yes Pilot, understood. The female Peacekeeper and the human have just escaped and there's a full command carrier on approach to this planet.
ZHAAN: A full carrier? Crais. But it makes no sense for him to come after us himself.
D'ARGO: Unless the two who have escaped are something very special. This barter session is over. (Meets Rygel) Trouble, we must go.
RYGEL: How much are you asking for those wellan globe....(D'Argo pulls him away and alien hisses again)
(Cut to John and Aeryn.)
AERYN: Come on. I've relayed our rendezvous point and we can get off this wastehole of a planet. (Sees a ship taking off and heading away) That's the Leviathan's pod. They're getting away! Come on, we have to report in.
JOHN: Hey aren't we about to be rescued any minute, what, I mean they are no danger to us.
AERYN: They are prisoners, escaped prisoners! They must be recaptured....
D'ARGO: (Appears behind them with his blade) Or destroyed! (Aeryn assumes fighting stance) Do not tempt me.
JOHN: You need to get out of here, there's a ship full of Peacekeepers on it's way here right now.
AERYN: Traitor!
D'ARGO: That's why I want you both aboard Moya, as insurance.
JOHN: Just go, before... (Sees a squad of Peacekeepers heading for them. He and Aeryn straighten up)
D'ARGO: You are such fools. I would not fall for such an ancient ruse.
CRAIS: But fall you will, Luxan.
(PK Officers grab D'Argo)
CRAIS: If the Luxan gives you any trouble, kill him.
AERYN: Captain Crais.
CRAIS: (Walks past Aeryn towards John) Name.
JOHN: It's uh, John Crichton.
CRAIS: And where are you from, John Crichton?
AERYN: Sir he claims to be a human from a planet called Erp but he's shown himself to be --
CRAIS: To be what, Officer Sun? A clever impostor? An accomplice to a ship full of escaping prisoners? My brother's murderer?
JOHN: Your brother's what!?
CRAIS: You charged my brother's Prowler in that white death pod of yours.
JOHN: Wait a minute. You mean that near miss I had the first second I got here? That was an accident.
CRAIS: It was no near miss for my brother. A human? It will require some study. I will personally enjoy pulling you apart to see what you are made of.
JOHN: (PK officers start putting hand cuffs on John) Hey!
AERYN: Wait.
CRAIS: Yes, Officer Sun. You know something of this....alien?
AERYN: Only that I have spent some time with him sir, and I believe him when he says that what happened to your brother was an accident. I don't believe that he is brave enough or intelligent enough to attack one of our Prowlers intentionally.
CRAIS: Exactly how much time have you spent with this human?
JOHN: Not a lot. Not much at all.
CRAIS: Because as you know, Peacekeeper High Command has very clear parameters regarding contact with unclassified alien life-forms. You may have very well exceeded those parameters Officer Sun...
AERYN: No...sir.
CRAIS: ...you may be irreversibly contaminated.
AERYN: No. Sir!
CRAIS: Take them away. Take them all away. Take them to a transport while we locate the others.
(Officers grab them and start moving them away)
D'ARGO: Warrior to warrior, I vow, one day I will kill you!
PK#1: Keep moving.
PK#2: Come on!
SCENE 19
(In the control room on Moya)
ZHAAN: Pilot, how's it coming?
PILOT: Fuel tanks are almost full. Should be in a minute or two.
ZHAAN: Any word from D'Argo?
PiLOT: None. I'm sorry.
SCENE 20
(In a holding area on the commerce planet.)
PK#1: Right turn around. What is this? (Finds John's Dad's lucky puzzle ring)
JOHN: It's a toy, a puzzle. You have to figure out how to take it apart and put it back together again.
PK#1: A field resource exercise?
JOHN: Yeah. Something like that. Pull that loop through there.
PK#1: Yeah.
JOHN: Then that one...
PK#1: Yeah right, I think I got the hang of this.
JOHN: Now figure out how to put it back together again.
PK#2: What is this?
PK#1: It's a weapon you fool, now give it here before you...No, don't do that!
(As officers are arguing, John grabs gun from Officer 1's holster)
JOHN: Freeze! Don't move! Or I'll fill you full of.....little yellow bolts of light! Throw me the key! On the ground, now!
PK#1: Give up now Officer Sun. You might avoid a death sentence.
D'ARGO: Unlock me then I will unlock you.
AERYN: No, me. Come on, there isn't time.
JOHN: (To D'Argo)Unlock me. (fires at officers as they try to get up) Down! (To D'Argo.) If you run, you're going to have to find someone to unlock you, then you're going to have to explain these Peacekeeper handcuffs. (D'Argo gives in and takes off John's cuffs)
PK#2: Give up now Officer Sun. You might avoid a death sentence.
D'ARGO: Now unlock me.
AERYN: No, he is a criminal.
JOHN: You all are.
PK#2: Officer Sun!
JOHN: Can you get me away from here?
D'ARGO: What?
JOHN: Can you get me off this rock, away from these over-amped rent-a-cops, away from Crais. And take her too.
D'ARGO: What? Never! I will take you, you are manageable but she....
JOHN: If she stays, we all stay. (D'Argo gives in and John gives him the gun to keep trained on the PK officers and he then takes off D'Argo's cuffs, them moves on to Aeryn's)
AERYN: No! I will not come with you!
JOHN: You've been irreversibly contaminated, remember?
D'ARGO: It means death.
AERYN: It is my duty, my breeding since birth, it's what I am.
JOHN: You can be more.
SCENE 21
(The control room on Moya)
ZHAAN: Say again, Pilot.
PILOT: It is D'Argo and the arriving Prowler. He is telling us to leave orbit immediately.
ZHAAN: Thank K'Nahalian.
PILOT: The Peacekeeper female and that....other one....are with him.
RYGEL: Can't you see he's under duress? It's a trap! I say keep them in the transport hangar and...
D'ARGO: (Strides through doorway with John and Aeryn following) Pilot, break orbit.
PILOT: Destination?
D'ARGO: The Uncharted Territories. I'll explain later.
PILOT: Your attention. Distance between the pursuing Peacekeeper carrier and Moya - sixty metras and closing. They are bringing around their Frag cannons.
JOHN: Frag cannons?
D'ARGO: What is the range of their Frag cannons?
PILOT: I'm afraid neither Moya nor I, is sufficiently conversed in Peacekeeper technology.
AERYN: (Hesitates) Forty-five metras.
JOHN: Let's just do another one of those Starburst things.
ZHAAN: There's no time. The Leviathan must restore her energy.
PILOT: Fifty metras.
JOHN: (Gets out a pen) I need paper!
AERYN: Paper?
JOHN: To write on! (starts writing of the floor) Turn the ship around, we have to...
RYGEL: What?
JOHN: ...go back towards the planet.
RYGEL: Go back to the planet?!
PILOT: Frag cannons are locking on.
ZHAAN: Crichton, what are you doing?
JOHN: It's a theory. It has to do with overcoming atmospheric friction.
RYGEL: Are you completely insane?
JOHN: Listen, we're going to have to hit a pretty exact trajectory. Can you do that?
PILOT: I'm doing all I can maintaining Moya's regular systems at this speed.
JOHN: Well can this ship, thing, be flown manually?
RYGEL: Manually!?
PILOT: Yes, but there are...
JOHN: Good, then you do it. (to D'Argo)
D'ARGO: I am not trained as a pilot.
JOHN: Fine. (points to Aeryn) You're the experienced pilot, you fly it.
AERYN: No.
RYGEL: This is madness!
PILOT: Weapon control - full charge.
ZHAAN: It appears our only alternative is death.
(D'Argo grabs Aeryn and pulls her over to a control column)
RYGEL: What a charmer!
D'ARGO: Pilot, give me maneuverability now!
PILOT: We may dodge a first shot but never...
ALL: Do it!
(Pilot grumbles but activates appropriate key and a control stick comes up on the control column in front of D'Argo and Aeryn)
SCENE 22
(Crais' ship)
CREWMAN: Target is banking....
CRAIS: Three O'clock.
CREWMANL ...banking towards us sir!
TEEG: She's accelerating sir! (Moya shoots past them)
CRAIS: (Moves over to control column) End this now!
SCENE 23
(Control room on Moya)
JOHN: (Standing behind Aeryn) Just go for the maximum, let the planet's gravity pull us in.
D'ARGO: Hetch nine!
JOHN: Dive straight into the atmosphere. Twenty-eight to thirty-eight degrees, you got it?
RYGEL: (Clinging onto something) Do it, do it!
JOHN: More speed, more speed to sling-shot us out!
PILOT: We are there!
SCENE 24
(Crais' ship)
TEEG: Sir, the Leviathan, she's about to --
CRAIS: I can see that Lieutenant.
SCENE 25
(Moya)
JOHN: Pull her up. Pull her up, now!
(Moya shoots off into space, away from Peacekeeper cruiser)
SCENE 26
(Crais' ship)
TEEG: She's off our scanners sir. We've lost her.
SCENE 27
(Moya)
PILOT: It's gone.
JOHN: (To Aeryn) Thank you.
PILOT: It's gone!
ZHAAN: You can let go now, John. Thank you.
SCENE 28
(John finishes collecting things from Farscape One and puts them in his bag and walks off down a corridor. D'Argo appears and grabs him)
D'ARGO: We need to talk!
JOHN: (Pushing D'Argo away) Get your hands off me!
D'ARGO: You have a warrior's instincts, good! We'll need that.
JOHN: Cool.
D'ARGO: (Pushes John up against wall and presses point of him blade to John's throat) I have spent eight degrading cycles on board this ship and now I'm finally liberated.
JOHN: Congratulations.
D'ARGO: I don't know who you are, where you're from or what you want. But if you threaten my freedom, I'll kill you.
AERYN: (From where she was watching) They're a brutal race. Uncivilised. Indiscriminate in their deployment of violence.
JOHN: (Puts bag down on a table) Not like your people.
AERYN: My people? Might have helped you if you hadn't put us in this position.
JOHN: Me? No, no, no. Try your boy Crais.
AERYN: So you haven't forgotten about him? I know he hasn't forgotten about you.
JOHN: Yeah, well the transparent purple guy, what's his name, Pilot? He said that we'd passed into the Uncharted Territories where your people don't have jurisdiction.
AERYN: Crais thinks you killed his brother. In such a case would you obey jurisdictional boundaries? Listen to me. If you want to live, chose your allegiances carefully. That's not to say that there's any guarantees though.
JOHN: (Takes out a dictaphone and some ductape when he sees the DRD with the broken `head light') C'm `ere. I'm not going to hurt you, c'm `ere. (Starts binding the tape around the DRD's head-light stalk and speaks into dictaphone) Hey, dad, it worked. DK's and my theory, it actually worked. Sort of. Look, I know this is crazy, I mean you're never going to get this message, but I just... wanted to let you know that I'm alive. (To DRD) Whoa, hold still, hold still. (into dictaphone again) Don't know where I am. Technically, I don't know how I got here but I'm not going to stop trying to get home. See, you're fixed. Go play. (Shoos DRD away. We hear the sound of Rygel's hover-chair and he tried to grab the dictaphone) Hey! What the hell are you doing!?
RYGEL: Your equipment may be worth something in trade.
JOHN: My equipment. It's mine.
RYGEL: Are you a sound sleeper? Hmmmm? (moves off)
JOHN: And there's life out here Dad. Weird, amazing...psychotic life. And uh, in Technicolor. Hey Dad, you know those rattlers in the stomach we talked about? Well I got `em now.
