Previously on Laguna Beach…

Kristin: (V.O.) Spring Break in Cabo was crazy. Talan was all over me. And Alex and Jessica got in a huge fight over Jason.

Alex M: Are you a slut? Yeah I think you are.

Kristin: (V.O.) When we all got back to Laguna, Jason and Alex ended it.

Alex M: Obviously we’re nothing. We’re not anything.

Kristin: (V.O.) But the drama wasn’t over for Alex. She was about to find out that her good friend Casey had started a nasty rumor about her. I knew that girl was bad news.

Kristin: She’s a little slut. (Jessica laughs)

Kristin: (V.O.) Meanwhile, I was getting the sense that Talan wanted more from me.

Talan: You’re naturally pretty though.

Kristin: No Oh my God Talan.

Kristin: (V.O.) But I just didn’t want a boyfriend. And to make matters worse, Stephen had invited me up to San Francisco.

Stephen: When are you gonna come up and visit me?

Kristin: (V.O.) Like an idiot, I said yes.

Stephen: No, I’m stoked. It’ll be fun.

CUT TO: Outside

Kristin and Alex H are sitting outside, talking.

Alex H: So are you nervous about seeing Stephen in San Francisco?

Kristin: I don’t know. He…it’s like he’s trying too hard or something.

Alex H: Yeah.

Kristin: He’s like putting on this show for me.

Alex H: It’ll take one girl for him to like hang out with and have a little bit of feelings for, for him to just kinda like let go of everything and realize “Okay I can be good friends with Kristin” like…

Kristin: I know.

Alex H: You know?

Kristin: Now I have to deal with Talan.

Alex H: Oh Talan. Last night he came and sat next to me and I was like “You heart Kristin” like whatever ‘cause I didn’t want to say it out loud. And he’s like, he looked at you and like shook his head and he’s like “I love her. I love her”.  And I’m like…

Kristin: He like likes me too much. And it’s like…

Alex H: Yeah.

Kristin: I know.

Alex H: What do you do?

Kristin: I don’t know.

Alex H: Like seriously.

Kristin: Oh what do I do?

Alex H: Yeah like how come guys like…? You seem to always get the upper hand, always.

Kristin: ‘Cause I’m a bitch.  No I don’t know.

Opening Credits

CUT TO: The Beach

Alex M, Taylor, and Cedric walk down to the beach.

Cedric: Casey called me this morning.

Taylor: What’d she say?

Cedric: She just felt bad.

Alex M: What, does she think I’m gonna be best friends with her again?

Taylor: How did this whole Casey thing start?

Alex M: She made up a story…

Taylor: That wasn’t true.

Cedric: About Alex. How Alex has…

Alex M: Cedric! She said that I have like a bad hygiene problem.

Taylor: Where the hell did she come up with that?

Alex M: Cedric was the one that told me. ‘Cause Cedric’s like “You’re like being all nice to Casey, but this is what she is really saying behind your back”.

Taylor: And she made that up?

Alex M: She made it up. And she told Jason.

Taylor: I’d be so pissed.

Alex M: Like that takes a lot…

Taylor: Of effort.

Alex M: Thinking. Well I’m telling you right now I’ll never be friends with her again.

CUT TO: Kristin’s House

She is packing for San Francisco

Kristin: Is it warm in San Francisco?

Alex H: Yeah. But it might be a little cold so bring like a sweater. Are you excited to go?

Kristin: Uh, yeah. I’m excited. I just don’t want Stephen to take it the wrong way.

Alex H: Well he’s been wanting you to come up this whole year so…

Kristin: I’m kind of nervous though because he told me that there’s something he wants to show me at night and he like wants to share it with someone special and I was like…

Alex H: Oh that’s kinda cute though.

Kristin: It’s cute but it’s like not cute anymore you know what I mean? Like it would’ve been cute a year ago.

Alex H: Is there any chance that you’ll actually sleep in his dorm?

Kristin: I’m sure he wants me to. (Her phone rings) It’s Stephen. Hey.

Stephen: (Shows Stephen in San Francisco) Hey you.

Kristin: What’s up?

Stephen: Not much. What are you doing?

Kristin: Packing to come see you.

Stephen: Nice, nice.

Kristin: Hey what’s the weather all about?

Stephen: It’s gonna be so nice but like bring like a lot of warm clothes ‘cause like at night it gets really cold.

Kristin: Oh great.

Stephen: Well other than that…no it’s pretty nice so…Okay bud I’m excited to see you.

Kristin: Yeah I’m excited.

Stephen: It’s gonna be fun. Don’t miss you flight. Bye.

Kristin: Bye. (They hang up)

Alex H: Isn’t Talan making you dinner tonight?

Kristin: Yup.

Alex H: Are you gonna tell him about your trip to San Francisco?

Kristin: Nope.

Alex H: Whatever.

CUT TO: Koffee Klatch

Casey and LC get coffee and then sit down outside and talk.

LC: Mmm…this is so cute. I just saw that in a magazine.

Casey: I just got it.

LC: I haven’t talked to you in like months.

Casey: I know. I know. Oh I’m glad you’re home.

LC: Me too. Northern California is completely different.

Casey: Oh my god.

LC: See no one told me that. Everyone was like “Oh you’ll love it there” and I come back and everyone’s like “Yeah I knew you weren’t gonna last”. I’m like “Where was all this like when I was leaving?”

Casey: Yeah. So you’re just doing the fashion?

LC: I’m starting school, I’m gonna do classes over at Irvine and I just got an internship at a company called Three Dots but it’s like what I wanna do it’s like the perfect internship.

Casey: How cool.

LC: Okay so tell me about high school.

Casey: I don’t know. All the girls are like against me now and like…

LC: Who?

Casey: Alex and Taylor. Like I repeated something which I shouldn’t have done and…

LC: It’s high school.

Casey: Yeah and it’s Laguna.

LC: You know what? I know that if you’re on Alex’s bad side, like if you’re on her good side she’s like so much fun…

Casey: The best yeah.

LC: I know…I’ve always been like “Stay on Alex’s good side”.

Casey: No it’s so true. It’s so true.

CUT TO: Alex H.’s House

Kristin is there getting ready for her dinner with Talan.

Alex H: I can’t believe he’s cooking. I never knew Talan could even cook.

Kristin: This is gonna be kind of awkward.

Alex H: Really?

Kristin: Well think about it. Talan’s cooking me dinner.

Alex H: It’s either he’s trying like really hard or he just like really likes you.

Kristin: I don’t know how to deal with that.

Alex H: I mean whatever yeah it’s a little romantic.

Kristin: A little romantic? It’s like the most romantic thing you could do.

Alex H: A lot romantic? Yeah I know but if you walk in and there’s like candles and like this big thing set up.

Kristin: No. Do you honestly think that…?

Alex H: I don’t know. I mean he’s cooking you dinner. He might as well like…I can see that.

Kristin: What if he goes like all out?

CUT TO: Talan’s House

He is cooking his dinner for Kristin.

CUT TO: Alex H.’s House

Kristin: Alex I’m having problems. Like serious problems.

Alex H: With what?

Kristin: Like everything. Look at me right now.

Alex H: You’re just tired so you don’t feel pretty. You look fine. You know you really should Talan that you’re going up to see Stephen.

Kristin: Ugh!

CUT TO: Talan’s House

Kristin arrives.

Talan: Hey what’s up?

Kristin: Hi. How are you?

Talan: Good. (They hug)

Kristin: Good.

Talan: I’m good.

CUT TO: Outside.

Kristin: Oh my god.

Talan: I did all…

Kristin: Are you serious? I didn’t even know you could even cook.

Talan: Dude, I am Italian. (They sit down)

Kristin: Oh my god. This is intense.

Talan: You don’t have to eat it all I just made it for your pleasure.

Kristin: Well thanks for doing this Talan.

Talan: It’s at of the bottom of my heart.

Kristin: This is really, really nice. (He laughs) What?

Talan: Nothing. What are you doing this weekend?

Kristin: Um, nothing really.

Talan: What’s wrong with you? You’re being weird.

Kristin: I’m not being weird.

Talan: Yeah you are.

Kristin: How am I being weird?

Talan: You’re thinking about Stephen, aren’t you?

Kristin: I’m what?

Talan: You’re like…(makes a noise)

Kristin: Trust me, I’m not. I’m so not about Stephen it’s not even funny. (They laugh) Talan!

Talan: You’re just really…

CUT TO: Next Morning – Kristin’s House

Alex H pulls up to her house and honks.

Alex H: Kristin!

Kristin: I’m coming.

Alex H: Hurry. You’re seriously gonna be late.

Kristin: I loved how you honked. (She puts her bags in Alex H.’s car and gets in. They leave. It shows the airplane in the air.)

CUT TO: San Francisco

It shows the Golden Gate Bridge and the street. It goes to San Francisco State University. Kristin’s cab pulls up.

Stephen: Whoa! (He opens her door) Yeah buddy! (They hug and he gets her bags) How was it? Safe travels?

Kristin: Yeah. Where’s your car?

Stephen: I’m gonna take her to her hotel.

Kristin: Look I haven’t been in your little truck for so long.

Stephen: Yeah we got some memories in this little bad boy. (They get in the truck and he starts to drive) So tonight, I’m excited.

Kristin: So I told you I would come up. I told you. I said “Second semester I will”.

CUT TO: Street

They are shopping. Kristin puts a hat on.

Kristin: Come on let’s take a picture. (She laughs)

Stephen: No way.

They walk down the street. Stephen puts his arm around her. They get on a trolley. They get some food and eat it outside. A seagull is near Kristin as she eats.

Kristin: Oh my god. (She tries to shoo it away. Then they continue walking)

CUT TO: Laguna Beach

Casey is driving in her car. Goes to the beach. Alex M.’s phone rings.

Alex M: You guys. Casey’s calling me. Hello?

Casey: Hey Al.

Alex M: Hey.

Casey: It’s Casey.

Alex M: I know.

Casey: Do you, um, wanna go to the beach and talk?

Alex M: Yeah I’m actually down at the beach right now.

Casey: All right where are you?

Alex M: I’m at Table Rock.

Casey: Okay.

Alex M: (She hangs up) She wants to talk to me. (Casey parks her car Casey has some balls to walk down here.

Taylor: Yeah she does.

Alex M: Like really. (Casey locks her car)

Taylor: So awkward.

Alex M: No it’s not. Who cares? (Casey comes)

Casey: Hi girls. Al, do you wanna talk? Wanna take a little walk?

Alex M: Okay.

Casey: You girls don’t mind?

Morgan S: Nope you can borrow her.

Casey: Thanks. (They go to talk)

Morgan S: You’re welcome.

Casey: Al, I want you to know I know you don’t think I like I heard that from somebody but I did but it’s not even a big deal.

Alex M: That’s a pretty big thing to say.

Casey: People have a lot of s****y things to me in my life and I have totally forgiven them.

Alex M: Why would you tell Jason and Cedric that?

Casey: Because that was the stupidest thing I could have done.

Alex M: But why?

Casey: I’m completely admitting what I did was really shady, it was messed up, I regret it, it was horrible, it was immature, I was repeating what I heard, I shouldn’t have even done it.

Alex M: I’ve heard a lot of stuff about you really but I never repeated it to anyone.

Casey: Oh okay.

Alex M: When we were friends, Casey.

Casey: Alex. I said one bad thing about you.

Alex M: It wasn’t just a bad thing.

Casey: People have said so many bad things.

Alex M: It’s not like you called me a bitch, Casey.

Casey: Forgive, you know, don’t forget, but forgive.

Alex M: What do you think I’m supposed to do? Be like “Case, hi! I’m like fake and I like you” when really I don’t like you at all.

Casey: Then you must be a really evil person because you…

Alex M: Do not call me an evil person. An evil person does exactly what you did to someone. What kind of friend are you, to go off…

Casey: Why can’t you be a big person and get over it, why?

Alex M: I’m over it but I just don’t want to be your friend.

Casey: I completely understand that.

Alex M: All right then, we’re done. (Casey goes back to her car. She unlocks it and gets in. Goes back to Alex M, Taylor, and Morgan S at the beach.)

Morgan S: What happened?

Alex M: She called me an evil person. I was like “You’re gonna call me an evil person…”

Morgan S: Wait, so pretty much she’s blaming this all on you and you’re now the evil person?

Alex M: Yeah I’m the evil person.

Taylor: She’s obviously delusional.

Morgan S: Nice day at the beach.

CUT TO: Night – San Francisco.

Kristin and Stephen are outside, watching fireworks.

Kristin: Whoa there they go.

Stephen: This was my surprise.

Kristin: I like it. Aren’t you cold?

Stephen: (He puts a blanket on both of them) Getting warm, getting warm hold up.

Kristin: That looks so cool.

Stephen: How rad that is.

Kristin: Is there a reason why there’s firework right now?

Stephen: There’s that concert that’s going on.

Kristin: Oh yeah.

Stephen: You know how sick that looks with the fog right there and all the smoke? You see the smiley faces?

Kristin: Yeah.

Stephen: See that?

Kristin: Mm-hmm.

Stephen: Ooh smiley faces! They’re upside down!

Kristin: Oh my god.

Stephen: (He hugs her) This is like, this is exactly what I wanted to do right here. I just wanted to take you here and I wanted you to see this.

Kristin: (He hugs her. She yawns) I’m so tired. (They look at each other. She laughs) Stop. Stephen don’t. Stephen are you ready?

Stephen: Oh yeah.

Kristin: Okay let’s get up. (They get up and get in the car. Stephen brings her to her hotel.) All right well I’m gonna…

Stephen: Can I have my sweatshirt?

Kristin: Yeah are you in a bad mood?

Stephen: What? No. (She gives it to him)

Kristin: Are you sure?

Stephen: Yeah. Why would I be in a bad mood?

Kristin: I don’t know. You’re moody

Stephen: I’m not moody. I’m fine.

Kristin: What?

Stephen: Throw this out.

Kristin: Where? Where do you want me to throw it out Stephen? (She takes it and throws it out. He leaves. She goes inside the hotel and gets in the elevator.)

CUT TO: The Next Day – San Francisco

Kristin and Stephen are on a bench.

Stephen: Oh buddy.

Kristin: I’m glad I came up.

Stephen: I know. Thanks for coming up.

Kristin: Yeah.

Stephen: What?

Kristin: Nothing. It’s cold.

Stephen: (He lays down) It’s weird just being friends with you because there’s definitely times where it’s like I have to like stop myself and be like “Oh wait we’re only friends here” but…I don’t know. I’m attracted to you more than like anybody else. So it’s just like…I’ll always have that like natural tendency to like…I don’t know like act affectionate with you, you know?

Kristin: Yeah.

Stephen: I miss a lot of things of like having a girlfriend, just like spending that time with ‘em you know? I don’t know.

Kristin: I need to be still right now you know?

Stephen: What do you mean?

Kristin: I don’t know. It’s just not the right time for me to have a boyfriend right now. I just don’t want one. I don’t want the commitment or the responsibility. I’m ready to go when you are. I don’t want to talk about it.

Stephen: Okay I’m gonna need a snack.

Kristin: Okay let’s go. (He gets up. They leave)

CUT TO: Laguna Beach – The Beach

Jessica and Alex H are there.

Alex H: How’s the wah wah?

Jessica: Cold, sea weedy.

Alex H: Doesn’t look like it’s very appealing today.

Jessica: It’s not. (Talan shows up) Hi Talan.

Alex H: Hey buddy.

Talan: How’s your guys’ weekend?

Alex H: Fine.

Jessica: It’s pretty good.

Talan: Where is Kristin?

Alex H & Jessica: San Francisco.

Talan: No way. She with Stephen? (Alex H nods)

Alex H: It’s for one little like weekend thing.

Jessica: It’s for closure kinda like…

Talan: Like the 15^th closure. It’s like closure and then next week, closure.

Alex H: No, no. She didn’t go up there with like the intentions to go and hook up with him.

Jessica: Talan she doesn’t wanna hook up with him at all.

Alex H: She doesn’t want a boyfriend, remember?

Talan: That’s why I’m saying she’d probably hook up with him.

Alex H: Talan, God. You know she’s my best friend, our best friend. Just how it is.

CUT TO: San Francisco – Kristin’s Hotel

She is getting ready to leave.

Stephen: Did you have fun though?

Kristin: Yeah I did.

Stephen: Yeah?

Kristin: Thank you, yeah. I had a good time. I’m glad I came.

Stephen: It was good to see you.

Kristin: Yeah you too. (He hugs her and kisses her forehead)

Stephen: It’s hard seeing you but…(They hug) It’s good to see you. Good to see you doing well.

Kristin: Yeah.

Stephen: I’m glad uh…you know?

Kristin: What?

Stephen: Is it weird to you at all?

Kristin: What, seeing you?

Stephen: Yeah I know just like…

Kristin: No.

Stephen: I want it to be all like out in the open with us and you know you don’t have to like hold anything back or anything like that.

Kristin: I know.

Stephen: Or feel like you’re gonna be hurting me or anything. So…it’s all good though. I mean I had fun this weekend.

Kristin: No I had fun too.

Stephen: I don’t know. Being friends works.

Kristin: Does it?

Stephen: I think it does.

Kristin: Well I know but you still…whatever…I don’t know.

Stephen: What?

Kristin: It’s like you still treat me like I’m your girlfriend and that’s not what I want.

Stephen: Oh…I don’t know.

Kristin: You know?

Stephen: I’m so used to it. It’s like once I went away to school we just like…even though we still talked it was just like we pretty much just like…(click sound. Kristin nods) So it’s like weird trying to like figure out how we can be, you know? (She nods) I don’t know. It was good to see you though.

Kristin: Yeah you too.

Stephen: I’m glad you came up.

Kristin: Yeah me too. (They hug)

Stephen: Have safe travels. (Kristin goes inside the hotel. Stephen leaves. He gets in his car. Kristin comes out the hotel with her bags. The driver puts them in a cab. She gets in the cab. It shows her in the cab as the driver drives it. Then it shows Stephen driving his truck. Then Kristin again. Then Stephen again. Then Kristin one last time.)
