[Joe's Home]

(Glass breaks)

JIMMY: It' freezing in here too

Jake: MR. BENTNER?

JIMMY: MR. BENTNER? JOE?

(The old man is dead, lying on the ground, and blue.)

JIMMY: The temperature dropped so fast

JAKE: It's going to be a long winter

CUT TO:
[Town Hall]

GRAY: Alright, everyone, everyone please. Please. Right now, we're using the generator to power the town hall for 3 hours a day, the med centre for 6. And this is how much fuel we have. And this is how much we need to get us through the winter. The current levels of consumption, we will be completely out of gas and diesel, in two weeks

1000 GAL
200 GAL

JOHNSTON: Wonder when the dancing girls show up

GAIL: Stop

JOHNSTON: There’s a way of doing it without scaring the crap out of people

GAIL: He was elected. He's going to do it his way

JOHNSTON: aww….I'm going to need a hobby

GRAY: Alright, this is what we're working on. We've got organized firewood crews,

JIMMY: MR. HAWKINS. Theres a woman in the group of refugees that BILL is processing. I think you should talk to her

HAWKINS: Why?

JIMMY: Uhh, she said she used to be a cop in ST. LOUIS

GRAY: Especially with 53 new people among us, we have got to start rethinking things. Fast. Or the people we lost last night, won't be the only casualties of this coming winter

HEATHER: What about the windmills?

JAKE: She's right

HEATHER: Wind power

GIRL: It's a great idea

HEATHER: We should be building windmills

GRAY: ERIC. I think you all know HARRY CARMICHAEL, our chief engineer down at the mine. HARRY.

HARRY: Uhh we've been looking into wind turbines for weeks now with MAYOR GREEN, but in order to build anything that can be connected to the grid, it's going to take time

GRAY: Time I'm not sure we can afford

CUT TO:

[POLICE HOLDING AREA]

JIMMY: Shes' in here

HAWKINS: Thanks

SARAH: Hello ROB

CUT TO:

[TOWN HALL]

HARRY: I need parts we don't have. We simply don't have the machining capabilities

JAKE: What kind of parts?

HARRY: Mechanical governors to regulate output. With the EMP damage, we're figuring a lot of this from scratch. It's still a long way off

ROGER: BLACK JACK fairgrounds. We walked through it on our way through here. It's become a trading post. People all over the region are trading food, and information, machine parts... They may have what we need

GRAY: That's got to be a 200 mile drive. That's a lot of gas, for maybe

HEATHER: If we can get one windmill working, we'd save that much gas in a month. If we get enough of them, we could be off gas for good

GRAY: Then it might not be a bad idea to put a small party together to check it out. Is anyone interested in volunteering?

(Everyone looks towards JAKE)

CUT TO:

[POLICE HOLDING AREA]

(SARAH punches HAWKINS)

SARAH: I know it was you

HAWKINS: What?

SARAH: Those men that grabbed me, they said that someone on my team sold us all out. They said it was you!

HAWKINS: And you believe them?

SARAH: Why shouldn't I?

HAWKINS: Oh come on, you know that they would say anything in order to get you to talk. And because you know I owe you my life, as much as you owe me yours. And because you just punched me in the face, and I didn't punch you back

SARAH: Who else is here?

HAWKINS: No one. VICTOR showed up just after D-Day. But he only made it for a couple of hours

SARAH: Did you kill him?

HAWKINS: It was the radiation. From DENVER

SARAH: Nobody else made it back here to the rally point?

HAWKINS: No. You gotta tell me how you got out of that room. Three armed guys. Cuffs

SARAH: Three guys in cuffs keep you in that room. One of them got too close. Then there was only two. Two was easy. From there, I drove as fast as I could, saw the clouds from DC and BALTIMORE. Ran out of gas in WEST VIRGINIA. Went from refugee camp to refugee camp, however I could

HAWKINS: I'm glad you made it

SARAH: You left me

HAWKINS: I know

SARAH: So what now?

CUT TO:

[TOWN HALL]

ROGER: We got wind of some changing parties, here, and here. But if you're careful, you should be safe the rest of the way. And once you’re at BLACK JACK, watch your back

GRAY: Thieves?

ROGER: It's not the thieves you have to worry about, it's the guards. They've got a reputation for being really ruthless. Without the cops or the national guard, it's the only way to guarantee it's safe enough to keep commerce going there

GRAY: You better take 2 or 3 of the border patrol guys with you. Just in case you run into any surprises

HEATHER: I'm coming too

JAKE: Not a chance in hell

HEATHER: Would you know a mechanical governor for a wind turbine if you saw one?

JAKE: Yes. No, I'm not taking passengers out there. No. No. No!

HEATHER: JAKE, MR. CARMICHAEL has a family, I can help. You need me

CUT TO:

[OUTSIDE TOWN HALL]

MARY: MRS. GREEN...

GAIL: What?

MARY: ERIC told me that APRIL'S pregnant. I just... if there’s anything I can do

GAIL: MARY, I think you've done quite enough.

CUT TO:

[TOWN HALL]

JOHNSTON: Always got to be the first one to jump into the fire don't you?

JAKE: Somebody's got to go

JOHNSTON: Well, it just seems like that someone’s always you

JAKE: GRAYS having us a few bags of salt packed up for us to trade

JOHNSTON: Smart. Who else is going?

JAKE: Apparently HEATHER. GRAY thinks I should take a couple of guys from border patrol

JOHNSTON: That's it?

JAKE: I'm not sure pulling them off border patrol just to watch my back is such a good idea. Sides, only a handful of them even know what they're doing

JOHNSTON: You don't think I can watch your back?

JAKE: What, you want to go?

JOHNSTON: Look, you've already seen what's out there. I just need to see it for myself. Besides, I'm unemployed, not obsolete

JAKE: Did you ask mom?

JOHNSTON: Son, I'm 59 years old, I was mayor of this town since the CARTER administration, I'm a retired U.S. Army Ranger, and Combat veteran. Of course I asked your mother

CUT TO:

[EMILY'S HOUSE]

EMILY: I can go downstairs and warm some water for a bath for you

ROGER: I didn't think I was ever going to finish this

CUT TO:

[HAWKINS HOUSE]

HAWKINS: Hey, uh we have a guest. This is SARAH

CUT TO:

[GRACIE'S MARKET]

SKYLAR: Hey DALE? DALE? Hey what are you doing back there?

DALE: Inventory.

SKYLAR: Is it that bad?

DALE: Well MR. HARDING just showed up with MRS. LEIGH'S cut of the produce

SKYLAR: What the hell is that?

DALE: Yeah, exactly

SKYLAR: Well, did you point out that it's rotten?

DALE: They're all screwing me. Hardly anyone’s honouring their deals

SKYLAR: My dad used to have to deal with stuff like this all the time down at the salt mine

DALE: Well, how'd he do it?

SKYLAR: He just... did whatever it took to keep things running

DALE: I'm not shutting this place down

SKYLAR: Actually, I may have good news about that. But you might have to take a little trip

CUT TO:

[OUTSIDE TOWN HALL]

HEATHER: JAKE, I need to talk to you

JAKE: Alright

HEATHER: I shouldn't have sprung this on you, it's just too weird

JAKE: What, what's weird?

HEATHER: Okay....ummm. I kissed you. A month ago. We haven't spoken since. Generally people speak after something like that

JOHNSTON: I'm just gonna... you know....

JAKE: I know, I'm sorry really

HEATHER: Don't apologize, I'm not upset. I understand why it happened. Look, I wanna go, because I think I can help get this place back on its feet. That's it. It's not a date

DALE: MR. MAYOR...

JOHNSTON: I'm not the mayor anymore DALE, what is it?

DALE: I need to come with you

CUT TO:

[GRACIE'S MARKET]

DALE: I wanna take it all. Trade if for stuff so I can open this store back up again. Whatever I don't use, I'll put to whatever supplies the town needs

JAKE: Just going to give it away to the town for nothing?

DALE: It's the right thing to do isn't it? I just want to help

JAKE: Well, this is one hell of a crew we're putting together here. Alright. We leave first thing in the morning

CUT TO:

[HAWKINS HOUSE]

DARCY: You just happen to know, someone who happened to just wander into town...

HAWKINS: Hey, hey. Look at me, I'm not going to lie to you. But I can't... I can't tell you anymore than I already have. So she's a friend, okay?

DARCY: The last time you let someone from that part of your life into our home was 4 years ago

HAWKINS: This is different

DARCY: Well, you couldn't tell me who he was. You told me not to worry. Two weeks later you left, and I didn't see you again until 2 months ago

HAWKINS: This is different

DARCY: SAM cried for weeks. I mean he was 4 years old, he didn't understand why you wanted to leave him. Just... don't know if I can watch him go through that again

SARAH: ROB, what is going on here? ROB?

HAWKINS: Come here

SARAH: What is this

HAWKINS: I'm being watched

SARAH: By who?

HAWKINS: My guess, the old man

SARAH: Why... you still have the package don't you? He's been coordinating this thing from the beginning, feeding us information, why would he turn on us now?

HAWKINS: I don't know. You still have a way to reach him? And have you told him you've made contact with me yet?

SARAH: Not yet

HAWKINS: Then do it. You do it, and you see what he says.

CUT TO:

[BLACK JACK]

BLACK JACK FAIRGROUND

(HEATHER reads a sign)

HEATHER: Thieves will be strung up?

GUARD: I need your guns.

(They hand over their guns)

GUARD 2: You can pick them up on the way out. Go ahead

HEATHER: They're kidding about the strung up thing right? They don't mean that literally

(They see a man hung up)

JAKE: Looks like everyone checks in here at the main tent. They try to match buyers with sellers. They gave me a list of 3 sellers that might have a part for the windmill

DALE: It's like E-BAY

(Man is beaten up)

HEATHER: Not like E-BAY

JOHNSTON: Alright, look. See if you can't find the governor. I'm going to stick with DALE, see what he can trade for. Let's do this quick, and then we're out of here

CUT TO:

[EMILY'S HOUSE]

EMILY: Good morning. Last night you fell asleep mid-sentence

ROGER: I did?

EMILY: Yes, you did. Standing up right there at the sink, shaving. You were going to tell me what you seen out there, and... ROGER, I... I don't want to push. I can't even imagine how awful it was for you out there. I just...

ROGER: A lot of it was. Listen, if I tell you something, will you promise not to think I've lost it?

EMILY: Of course

ROGER: Out there, I saw something. I haven't told anybody about it. I can't explain it. Thing is, it was the most beautiful thing I ever seen

CUT TO:

[HAWKINS HOUSE]

SARAH: From there I ended up inside a tent city outside of LEXINGTON

ALLISON: So, what are they like? The camps?

SARAH: Each is different. Some are overcrowded and dangerous, some are better then

ALLISON: Did you see any people with radiation poisoning?

SARAH: Some, yes.

ALLISON: What do they look like?

SARAH: Lots of burns, tissue loss. Some vomiting

HAWKINS: ALI, SAM. Upstairs.

SAM: How do you know my dad?

SARAH: Well, we worked together

SAM: You know how to play football?

SARAH: Of course I do. Doesn't everybody

SAM: Not everybody

DARCY: Alright, SAMUEL. Now. You know, these kids have been through enough

SARAH: I-I'm sorry

DARCY: Look, I don't know you, I really don't want to. I know the kind of people my husband works with. And no matter how close the two of you were, I don't need my kids exposed to that world. I've been married to this man for a long time. I got pretty good at reading between the lines

CUT TO:

[BAILEY'S TAVERN]

MAN: Thanks MARY.

GAIL: Why don't you and I sit down together, and have a drink

CUT TO:

[BLACK JACK]

PERVERT: Hey, how much?

HEATHER: Beg your pardon?

PERVERT: How much?

HEATHER: How much for what?

PERVERT: I don't know... an hour?

HEATHER: An hour of what? Wait, what, no!

PERVERT: How about a half hour?

JAKE: Is everything alright?

HEATHER: I'm not a hooker pal

PERVERT: Then what are you doing here?

JAKE: Alright, that's enough. That's enough man!

SECURITY GUY: Is there a problem here?

RUSSELL: No, no problem. It's fine. You're kidding, right? You don't want to mess with the guards here, it gets ugly fast

JAKE: Thanks for the help

TED: HEATHER!

HEATHER: Oh my god! TED! Oh my god, I can't believe you're here. JAKE, this is TED LEWIS

TED: Hey, how ya doing?

HEATHER: We grew up together in NEW BERN.

TED: And this is RUSSELL, and MIKE.

RUSSELL: I believe we've met

TED: I was so worried about you. We were going to send a party to make contact with you guys, but the roads were just so dangerous. What are you guys doing here?

HEATHER: We're looking for parts for a windmill generator

JAKE: Unsuccessfully

RUSSELL: Hey, there’s a guy here who doesn't always report to the main tent, and has got those specialty items nobody else has, you wanna see him?

JAKE: Yeah, let's check it out

CUT TO:

[ELSEWHERE IN BLACK JACK]

MAN: Hey, hey, hey, get this stuff out of here before somebody sees it

DALE: Why, what's wrong with it?

MAN: Nickel. Silver stuff. It's all alloyed

DALE: So?

MAN: So Nickel absorbs radioactivity. Stuff from the hot zones been making everybody sick. Nobody wants it

DALE: Well this stuff was nowhere near the fallout

MAN: Look kid, I can't sell it, I can't sell it. What do you want me to tell you? What else you got?

JOHNSTON: So what does have value here?

MAN: Not much of what you got. Check the board over there

I-70 GROUND ZERO DENVER to GOODLAND
I-80 EAST OF N-PLAITE

DEATH TOLL
RED FLAGGED AREAS TO DATE: 314

DALE: Why Salt?

JOHNSTON: Well, it's a preservative. It's an antibiotic. You need 1500 mgs of it a day to survive. ROMANS actually used it as currency. Whole AFRICAN EMPIRES were based on the control of supply of it. Wars have been fought over salt

CUT TO:

[BLACK JACK]

HEATHER: Food, Medical Supplies, Generator, all air dropped from CHINA. What?

TED: Yeah, we got an airdrop too. Thing is... it was from GERMANY. It's aid, I mean it must be coming from all over the world

HEATHER: Well if Aids coming from all over the world, who did this to us?

RUSSELL: We had feds come a couple of weeks back. Guys claiming to be government contractors. So the mayor thought we should make security a priority. So he resigned his office, and appointed SHERIFF CONSTANTINO as acting mayor

JAKE: Contractors, who were they?

RUSSELL: Security detail from a company called RAVENWOOD. They came in looking for supplies, few of the shop owners resisted, and they got violent

MIKE: Killed 3 and injured 8. Then drove off with a truckload of our diesel

RUSSELL: But since then, the sheriffs managed to take control of things. Crime really isn't a problem for us anymore

JAKE: How did you manage that? What is this?

RUSSELL: News

JAKE: Where did all this come from?

RUSSELL: People pass through here from all over. Everyone brings a little piece of the puzzle

JAKE: You have something to write on?

HEATHER: Yeah

RUSSELL: You guys don't get out much do you? It gets better

JAKE: What are the stars for?

RUSSELL: Capitals.

JAKE: Of what?

RUSSELL: The Federal Government

JAKE: Federal Government? But theres six stars up there. Where's the President?

RUSSELL: Which one?

JAKE: Six Presidents.... I don't understand. Who's in charge of the Military?

MIKE: You're assuming there’s only one of those too. Alright, let's go

HEATHER: Isn't there a line of succession, so that there’s only one successor?

MIKE: Word is HHS SECRETARY CHARLES is supposed to be next in line, but there are 5 other guys who seem to think the attacks changed the rules. SENATOR MORRISETTE in OREGON, SENATOR TOMARCHIO in WYOMING, they're all staking a claim. Gathering support

HEATHER: Well then what happens when they figure out who's in charge?

TED: They start making deals, compromise

HEATHER: Or?

JAKE: Or they fight

CUT TO:

[ELSEWHERE IN BLACK JACK]

DALE: Six bags of soybean seed, and still this is not enough. Maybe this whole thing was a bad idea

JOHNSTON: It's a start. DALE, wait up. Be a lot easier for you to close the store wouldn't it? But instead, you're out here, trying to keep it going. I think GRACIE would be proud of you. Think your mom would be proud of you too

DALE: When my mom died, there was nothing I could do about it. But then after MRS. LEIGH...

JOHNSTON: MITCHELL CAFFERTY is going to get his due. Whether GRAY finds him or not. Sooner or later he's going to cross the wrong person. One of these days it's going to catch up with him

CUT TO:

[BAILEY'S TAVERN]

MARY: I don't like to drink while I'm working

GAIL: To be honest, I have difficulty understanding how many ways I dislike you

MARY: You made a list? MRS. GREEN, I don't think

GAIL: Look. This'll work a lot better if you sit there and listen to what I have to say. What you and ERIC did to APRIL is awful. But she's going to get through this. Because she is one strong woman. But there’s a baby on the way. And it happens to be my grandchild. And I intend to do everything I can to protect it from this world. But what you've done, I can't protect it from. You've divided the family. As hard as that child's life was going to be, you have made it so much more difficult. I don't think that's something I'll ever be able to forgive

MARY: Okay. When I was a kid, my mom split on my dad and I. She left with this guy she met in DENVER

GAIL: This isn't about you

MARY: This'll work a lot better if you sit there, and listen to what I have to say. I lay awake at night, terrified that I put APRIL in the same position my dad was in. Terrified that I have put this child in the same position that I was in. My mistake was falling in love with your son, I never should've let it happen. But I did. And I know the cost, I know how wrong it is. But the problem is he loves me too. I don't know how you undo that. So if you want to go on hating me, if you never accept me, I can't say I blame you

CUT TO:

[EMILY'S HOUSE]

ROGER: So I went to find help. I was more messed up than I thought. I wandered for days, eventually passed out in this field. So there I was, out in NEBRASKA, feeling like that was the place I was going to die. And then the strangest thing happened. It was a light in the sky. Bright light with a ring around it. I went towards it, two miles later, I stumbled into the refugee camp. That light saved my life

CUT TO:

[TRADERS STATION]

JOHNSTON: Hey, I've been looking all over for you. Did you find a part?

JAKE: I think so. Did you see the news?

TRADER: Looking to trade for a mechanical governor?

JAKE: Yeah

TRADER: Okay, let's talk trade. 8 bags of salt, at 35 lb per. RUSSELL, what'd they think? That they're the first ones to think of this? I mean these parts are in high demand, I'm not giving them away

JAKE: What more is it going to take?

TRADER: What more? A guy came in this morning and offered 80 gallons of Diesel for the thing, and I turned him down

JAKE: Alright, listen. We have more salt than you can imagine. We've got the largest salt mine for 400 miles, and we've got men to mine it. If you ever want to see any of it, we need to make this deal right now. Today, you understand?

RUSSELL: Look, I'll vouch for him, alright?

TRADER: Alright. Alright, we got a deal. Wait here, I'll go get it. These things aren't easy to make you know. Not the good ones, anyway

JAKE: Dad, this is RUSSELL

JOHNSTON: Hi, good to meet you

DALE: MR. MAYOR...

JOHNSTON: No kidding DALE, I am not the MAYOR anymore

DALE: There’s blood on it

TRADER: You need some help there?

JAKE: What he hell is this?

TRADER: What, are you conducting an inspection, or are we doing a deal?

JOHNSTON: Yeah, we're not supporting that. We'll find another solution

TRADER: Well then, we're all done here aren't we? Why don't you get out? Get out! Get Out! Get out! Get out! You too, get out! Get out

CUT TO:

[BLACK JACK]

RUSSELL: Guys, I'm so sorry. We had no idea

JAKE: We need that part

JOHNSTON: Where’s DALE? DALE, where'd you get off to? Don't just wander off like that

JAKE: Did you steal that?

DALE: Well he's a bad guy, he can't get away with that

JOHNSTON: We've gotta get that back before they realize it's missing

DALE: It's okay, I went out the back, no one saw me

SECURITY: Hold it! Hold it! Hold it!

SECURITY: Hand him over

JAKE: He made a mistake, alright? He'll give back what he took. No harm done. Alright

JOHNSTON: Ah, excuse. You know, he really is sorry, and the property is back where it belongs

SECURITY: he can explain it to management

JOHNSTON: I'm just asking you, use a little discretion, that's all, please

(Security hits Johnston)

JOHNSTON: excuse me, but could I talk to whoever’s in charge here?

SECURITY: Look old man, I told you

(JOHNSTON knocks him out)

(JAKE punches security)

(JAKE is on the ground, guns pointing at him from all directions)

(RUSSELL pulls out his own gun)

RUSSELL: That's enough!

(JOHNSTON helps JAKE up)

CUT TO:

[HAWKINS HOUSE]

SARAH: Hey

ALLISON: How long have you been with the FBI?

SARAH: 14 years. Started right out of college

ALLISON: It's dangerous out there isn't it?

SARAH: It's pretty bad

ALLISON: My dads been teaching me how to shoot. Wonder if that's why

SARAH: He’s been teaching you how to shoot?

ALLISON: A little. I'm not sure if I like it. It's a weird feeling, but it's the first time I can remember the two of us actually doing something together

SARAH: Where's your father?

MESSAGE: Locate and Retrieve the package. Eliminate your contact

SARAH: It's the old man. He's coming for us, using us against each other. He knows where you are. We need to go, we need to move, now

HAWKINS: No, I don't know

SARAH: You don't know? This country is going to be what we make of it. There are only a handful of other people who know what we know. We have to keep fighting, we have to stay alive

HAWKINS: No, we go see him, and if he is behind this, we take him out

SARAH: Take him out?

HAWKINS: Yeah, I mean how long can we run? How long can my family run? No. We pay him a visit, we eliminate the threat

SARAH: We go straight at him, there’s a chance we don't come back

CUT TO:

[HAWKINS KITCHEN]

DARCY: You're leaving. She walked in that door, I knew right away you'd be leaving

HAWKINS: You have nothing to worry about

DARCY: It's not me that I'm worried about. Our children, they need a father. Whatever you're going to do, it can't be more important than that. Do you trust her?

HAWKINS: I have to

DARCY: If she's a threat to this familie’s safety, if she's a threat to you, you kill her. You understand?

CUT TO:

[BLACK JACK]

JAKE: Get in!

HEATHER: Hurry!

JAKE: Go!

JOHNSTON: Go! Go! Go! Go!

(JAKE drives the car)

(The Gate is closing)

JOHNSTON: Stop the car. JAKE, this car will not fit through that barricade. Stop the car now! JAKE!

(JAKE keeps driving)

(They make it through)

JOHNSTON: Uh Thanks. I don't know how this would've turned out if it weren't for you guys

RUSSELL: You'll make it up to us someday

JAKE: However we can help

TED: Those windmills you were looking to build, I was thinking, the guys down at the old brake assembly, maybe they can convert part of their plant. Help build what you need, and the town could use a good source of salt

JOHNSTON: Well, it looks like we're going to be seeing a lot of each other. Thanks again guys, you take care

JAKE: Thank you so much. What?

HEATHER: JAKE, I saw the governor. I saw how it's put together. I was talking to TED, and I think between the two of us, we can help to make more of them. But I have to go with him

JAKE: Them? Wait a minute...

HEATHER: No, think about it. We don't have the resources to do this the right way. They've got the machines, and the guys who know how to use them. With a dozen full sized windmills, you could power the whole town, run the med center, forget about gas.

JAKE: Just going to leave? Right now?

HEATHER: It won't be for very long. It's just a few days. But I know I can help. I think I need to do this

JAKE: You think this is a good idea?

HEATHER: You know why things didn't work out between us? I'm not dangerous. I'm crossword puzzles, and flannel pajamas and the occasional light beer. It's never going to be hazardous enough for you. That's how you tick

JAKE: No, it isn't

HEATHER: Of course it is. But that's okay. Because if it wasn't, your dad would probably be dead right now. You and I would've never met on that bus. So I'm taking a page out of your book. I'm throwing caution to the wind. I'm going to help turn the lights on for everyone back home

JAKE: Just for a few days

HEATHER: You worried about me?

JAKE: Come back in one piece

CUT TO:

[HAWKINS HOUSE]

SAM: DAD?

HAWKINS: Yeah?

SAM: We're out of the good toothpaste

HAWKINS: Well here’s uh the new stuff that MR. DALY made

SAM: This isn't toothpaste

HAWKINS: Yeah it is

SAM: Are you playing a joke on me?

HAWKINS: No. Hey, you know when you were teething, you never cried. See, because most babies, they cry. But not you, and your mom was worried, and the doctors were worried, but not me, because I knew you weren't sick. You weren't hurt, you were just brave. Because you're the bravest person I know. You always have been

SAM: DAD?

HAWKINS: Yeah?

SAM: What are you talking about?

HAWKINS: (laughs) SAM. I have to go to work tomorrow. It's a very important meeting, and it's pretty far away, so I may not be back for a day or two. I just wanted you to know that

SAM: Are you mad at me?

HAWKINS: What?

SAM: You're leaving

HAWKINS: Hey, you listen to me. There is nothing that you, your sister, or your mother could ever do that will make me want to leave you. I uh I love you, you understand that right?

CUT TO:
