I'm as relaxed as I can be while I'm writing this, thanks to the best sleep night ever. Why? Because folks I found the best medicine ever for people with sleeping problems: Bones. Watch just 5 minutes of Bones and you'll fall asleep on the couch immediately. No kidding guys, this is clinically proved! So if you do have sleeping disorder get your TiVo ready this fall.

I'll be upfront: the pilot for the upcoming FOX series is one of the most boring pilot snoozefest I've seen since Karen Sisco two years ago. I must have dozed off a few times during the 45 minutes, and believe me I tried to resist but what can you do with such an uninteresting material. As a matter of fact I can't quite remember the main story for this pilot. Something to do with the body of a girl found and a killer that may or may not be a powerful senator. As usual I won't spoil the ending, mainly because it's not worth it, but also because I like spoiler-free reviews. To make it short just do yourself a favor and when the season premiere comes, just avoid it as much as possible.

So who's to blame for such catastrophic piece of television? The writers for starters. They failed to write an interesting story and instead we're stuck with one boring hour drama with characters we just don't give a crap about. They should have known better, this is supposed to be the first episode for christ's sake! OK they try so hard to be the next CSI but they failed miserably. Having cool CGI does not compensate a weak story and crappy characters. Add the fact that they also try hard (really really hard) to create some kind of Moonlighting-vibe between the two main characters. Unfotunately it falls flat lamely, mainly because the two leads have absolutely no chemistry together. From where I stand Zooey Deschanel is so miscasted as an anthropologist. I'm still wondering how she managed to get into the business in the first place by the way. As for David Boringanaz, who's playing a FBI agent here, well he's just he's plain self: painful to watch and unable to act. In other words, he's Boreanesque.

This was a screener so I hope they'll revamped it a bit before the premiere. So for the Boreanaz fans out there (as crazy as it sounds I heard rumors about some people being Boreanaz fans), if you're still a fan after watching that expandable snoozefest I would suggest not to get your hopes high anyway. I was right regarding Karen Sisco's fate two years ago and I have good belief to be right here too. One good note (and one only) that needs to be pointed out is the music. The soundtrack for this pilot is just amazing. Only recent cool tubes that rocked my boat. Unfortunately this geat soundtrack was not able to make this show watchable. OK I know I'm a white or black kind of guy with no grey in the middle but sometimes even if you try hard you just can't find a shade of grey and you're stuck with the black. In this case, total pitch black.

DOA. Definitely a goner. I can't imagine the show surviving after November sweeps.

No screenshots available. What a relief.
